We stayed here for a second time, in the Ivanhoe room. Was amazing, quiet and restful. The breakfast to your room is quiet nice and relaxing. We usually get the romance package with comes with candles and sparkling apple cider. The beds are a little too soft or old, but they are comfy. Great Grandma's outdated dirty basement; below average across the board for basic standards of hospitality. 1) We reserved the Garden Suite (ADA accommodations) one of us has a disability that isn't visible. The person who checked us in said "I'm in your parking spot, but you can have it when I leave at 10pm tonight". We didn't say a thing, what we were supposed to say? 2) When we walked in, immediate stench of odor, reminiscent of a run down old folks home. 3) Entire room was dirty, dusty, cobwebs, including the jetted tub that smelled musty. 4) The pillow on the bed (see photo) inferring they don't launder their comforters, gross. 5) Breakfast was average; microwaved precooked bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and French toast. Not terrible, not $225/night quality. 6) Guest book in the room with rules & places to dine around town is outdated; Iggys? Hoppers? Both out of business for several years now. 7) No where to put your suitcase or belongings, not even a luggage rack to keep belongings off the floor. They did have a coat rack in the restroom, which was weird and not useful. 8) The concept of themed rooms is cute, candidly, this place is not somewhere we would visit again. read more

I booked this for a getaway with my husband after googling romantic stay-cations and seeing great reviews. Upon pulling in, the outside apperance is as though it was vacant and abandoned. We were utterly disappointed upon entering the doors. The smell is like an old musky museum After checking in they gave us a key that has a very large Keychain attached and told us that after hours you must take the key everywhere to get around and if your leaving the place. Very outdated concept. If you forget your key after hours, your potentially locked out of the castle. Upon checking in the room (Kings Suite) it is very outdated and seemed old. The pool table was in horrible condition and the sticks crooked, no chalk etc. There were stains/ spills on the walls in the living room area as well as while sitting on the toilet. I didn't examine but would guess it was pee splattered on the wall. Once we filled the bath tub there were black floaties in the water. After leaving to get cleaning supplies and cleaning it we got in. Looking up, spider webs on the wall and ceiling. In the middle of the night at 2ish am, woke up to lound sounds of sex coming from another room. I mean at least they were having fun On the flip side, breakfast was delivered to the door and it was actually VERY yummy. We enjoyed that. At night they put out cookies, popcorn, etc for the guests staying and we had a cookie and it was really good and freshly baked. There is not a coffee maker in the room, you have to go to a community area to get that in the mornings, which sucked. Great hospitality but VERY outdated, old, smelly and needs a major revamp/cleaning. We paid $260 for 1 night and we were not impressed and will not be back. I think if your 70+ and older maybe you would enjoy the old outdated place with a histoy lesson! I would say it is not for young couples. read more

As a frequent traveler, I get bored of the same old same-so sometimes I like to mix it up, especially when my wife and I need a getaway. We've stayed at the Anniversary Inn multiple times, and I wanted to check out another hotel with a similar concept. The Castle Creek Inn also has themed rooms, although the entire property is medieval themed. When it first opened, it was probably super cool and exciting. It's still unique and has charm, but it definitely feels dated. Much of the décor reminds me of something I'd find in an antique store, or at my grandmother's house. It could probably benefit from a little sprucing up. Breakfast is included, and we had the option to have it delivered to our room in styrofoam containers or to eat in the dining room. We opted for the dining room-it felt a little nicer. Our meal was delivered to our table promptly and with a smile. Service was great, although the food quality was just so-so. It's on par with a breakfast you'd get for free at Holiday Inn or similar. My favorite part of the hotel is the grounds. Although it's on a busy street, once you pull into the parking lot, you're surrounded by trees, making you feel like you're far away from the city. There's a small walkway leading down some steps and a tiny water feature. The back patio looks like it might be a fun place to host small events. read more

We stayed here for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. The place was unique but very much out dated. Our room had a very small TV. The weather was very stormy and one morning we woke up to earthworms on the tile by the door. The carpet was very dirty and stained, behind the bathtub there were alot of cracks down the wall. For being a bed and breakfast, I would have thought we would have gotten breakfast both mornings. Apparently if you stay on a Saturday night to Sunday morning, there is no staff onsite. It was okay for a one time stay, but I don't believe I'd ever book it again. read more

The room was clean and the grounds are beautiful, it sits on a creek. Other than this, my experience was negative and I will not return. I felt like I was paying to visit Grandma's house where she stores all her British collectibles. It was a missed opportunity for fun themed rooms for sure. The inn left a voicemail stating my card wouldn't clear, I repeatedly called to resolve this and couldn't get through. The 4th time an employee answered and chewed me out for not leaving a voicemail, stated they'd been trying to contact me all day and canceled my room. Then apologized realizing they were speaking to the wrong customer. We were told at check in our room key needed to lock the building behind us if we were out past when everyone checked in. I realized the key could unlock any room in the building and felt unsafe. An excessive amount of rules was given at check in, all with the goal of maintaining the innkeeper's comfort, not the guest's. The room theme was Romeo and Juliet: I have attached photos of the only 2 items in the room I could find that were obviously or likely related to the theme. I excitedly found a pillow with writing thinking there would be some Shakespeare quote from Romeo and Juliet, only to find it was about not spilling or staining things, once again geared toward maintaining the innkeeper's comfort. The TV was tiny, too small to see from 12-15 feet away in the bed. The innkeepers tend to get defensive about negative reviews and could use some hospitality consulting. The rooms could use some updated theming and modern upgrades. read more

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights over our anniversary. The room was nice, and the bed was comfortable. There were 2 large screen TV's, and 2 DVD players - one was viewable from the bed. Since we were upstairs in the front of the building, there was some noise from the highway, but it did not keep us up. Due to Covid, they were not serving breakfast, but this was made very clear on their website and they gave us a discount each night for that reason. This is a wonderful hotel/bed and breakfast in Salt Lake City! Built as a castle and we had a very warm reception at checkin. We stayed in the Canterbury room which was cozy. They have various castle themed rooms. Chocolate chip cookies and popcorn were available at night. The breakfast was delicious. About a 20 minute drive or so to the airport as well as from the iconic Red Iguana restaurant. Stay here for your Salt Lake City medieval experience! read more

I'll start by saying I'm not one of those complaining people or one of the "never pleased" types. But honestly, this place was gross and utterly unacceptable. We arrived and the whole place has a musty old smell which was ok, I could have gotten used to that...but that was only the beginning. The room looked good on first sight, but as we got in there, we noticed a lot of the room was in major need of maintenance. Also, the cleaning was very shoddy. There were huge cobwebs all over the corners, back of door hinges, and even on the top of the bed posts. There was a spider in the bathroom, and when I went out to the dining area to get coffee in the morning, there was a long hair draped across the top of the coffee pot right where the water enters the pot. The TV was about the size of a computer screen and the thermostat for our room was out in the common area dining room. There wasn't enough hot water to fill the tub and the mini fridge barely cooled our drinks (the fridge temp knob was broken and just kept turning). The concept was nice and I didn't mind paying for it if it was decent. But from now on I will be staying at anniversary inn where the standards are what one would expect for the cost. If this place was $50 per night then ok, but at $200....epic fail. We were very disappointed and highly discourage anyone from staying here. On a plus note, the breakfast was quite good even though they didn't use egg whites to make our French toast as they said they would. read more

This was our second visit to the Castle. This time was in the Edinburgh room. it was extremely relaxing and enjoyable stay. This is a genuine B&B experience. The staff is a little thin due to the lasting affects of covid restrictions, etc, but everything worked out great. What an enchanting place to spend our 1st year Anniversary at. Castle Creek Inn felt like a real life fairytale come true. We stayed in The Excalibur room. The grounds are so quaint. Breakfast was very nice for a To Go style packaging. Fresh chocolate chip cookies, popcorn, coffee and cold bottled waters were in the dinning area 24/7... I love themed things like restaurants, bars, and hotels. When I hear about them I do everything in my power to visit them. I don't know if Castle Creek Inn necessarily qualifies as a themed hotel but more so than regular hotels. The castle is easy to spot and check in was fast and easy. This was the one and only time we ever saw anyone during our stay. We know others were staying there because of the cars in the parking lot but it was nice that everyone kept to themselves and kept the Inn quiet. The room and bathroom were large, clean, and comfortable. At first I was a little bummed that our room was right next to the front entry door of the Inn and nearby to the front check in desk but we never heard or saw anyone coming in or out the front so it didn't end up being a problem. It was a nice stay and I bet being here during non-COVID times would be even better because they were not offering breakfast or afternoon tea during this time. read more

This was a perfect place for our honeymoon. We loved staying here and will stay again! It was sparkling clean and comfortable and Nicole was awesome to work with. It's a very pretty place, very shaded with lots of trees which was so nice during the summer. Parking was great and the big oak doors really added to the ambiance. We stayed in Rapunzel's tower and it was a nice room. We had a jetted tub, bed, and TV and the air conditioner was excellent. They also had a fireplace but we didn't use it. TV is a little small, but that was okay for us. Bed was amazingly comfortable. The location is close to everything and you can get DoorDash easily. Their kitchen's have closed due to the pandemic but they make it easy for food delivery drivers to find you. (it's also an actual castle so it's kinda hard to miss). While they didn't have any food they made up for it with an amazing room and customer service. The outside patio is also amazing and quaint and it's picturesque next to the spring. We loved it here and highly recommend it! read more

We DO plan on coming back. It was a fun "fantasy getaway". During COVID, the complementary breakfast is delivered to the door in a box. Thus, I wasn't expecting much. But it was surprisingly delicious and hot. There were a few things I didn't care for. * It's OLD and showing its age. Everything LOOKS nice but is a bit rickety. I was actually worried about the wooden chair at the table breaking on me. * We were in the KING room, which has a pool table. But the side bumpers have zero rebound. The ball hits the side and pretty much stays there. So, pretty much a useless pool table. * The jet tub is rather small and the water jets don't do much more than circulate the water. * The room is strangely organized. The bathroom stall is on one side of the room. And the sink is all the way on the other side of the room. read more

We stayed for our anniversary over the weekend. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and I'm glad we picked this place. It is super cute and I LOVED the garden area! That was definitely my favorite part! The bed was very comfortable and the staff is very nice. There was a huge jetted tub which was very relaxing. I love their towels too they are really soft and plush. We bought the deluxe bath set upgrade which was really nice. It had bath salts, bubbles, lotion, body spray, soap rose petals, and a hand massager. The reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars (and I struggled with it) is because you don't get to choose what you eat for breakfast and unfortunately, I didn't care for the breakfast they had when we stayed but my husband liked it. I also took a shower and there was a little water on the floor when I was done. I cleaned it with a towel and the towel was black after wiping the floor! Big bummer. We have been staying at themed room B&Bs for years. This was our first time here. Reserving the room was easy and Michelle was fun to talk to. She was very informative on everything. Driving up to the place it looks pretty cool. It looks a little castle from south Whales or perhaps northern England. Parking is in the back. There is a large deck with places to sit. There is a little rocky path down to a porch swing that faces the creek water fall and pond. If it wasn't so cold outside I would have enjoyed sitting there listening to it. Getting checked in was easy. Everything was explained to us again. Staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. So we got our keys then up to the room. We chose the Romeo and Juliet room. This room has a king bed, small TV, fireplace, balcony door, small table on the balcony, mini fridge, tower fan, table and chair, separate shower and a jetted tub. The jetted tub is mostly for one person. It's deep. It has a little seat on one side where the 8 jets are located. There are two jets on the opposite side but they're mostly for your feet. You could probably fit two people in the tub if you were a little enough. I'm 5'1 and it was easy to sit in. My wife is 5'4" and she had a hard time sitting in it with the jets on because the Jets would move her off the seat. But the jets were strong and it was like therapy for my back muscles. Loved it! The TV had tons of movies to chose from. TONS. The TV was small for the distance it was located away from the TV. But it worked fine. Most the time I watch stuff on my phone anyway. Some rooms have bigger TVs. But we didn't care since we weren't watching movies anyways. The bed was comfortable and I didn't feel like it was going to break when I got on it. It's pretty solid as I would expect a bed in a castle to be. There is a tower fan that was awesome for me. I need to have a fan blowing on me at night to sleep well and my wife needs heat. It worked out well for us since she could sleep by the fireplace and I could have the fan turned on to me. Loved it. We didn't use the balcony or the table and chairs outside at all since it was too cold. It's a very long balcony that's shared with the room next-door. One of the days we stayed was Sunday. On Sunday breakfast is a little different. Instead of having someone make you you meal and bring it out to you there is instead a little buffet style breakfast. It was some type of delicious bread, bacon cheese potato hash browns, bacon, french toast, fruit, and orange juice. You could take it up to your room if you want to but I enjoyed the dining area with the big open windows to the front patio and the music and the atmosphere. It is definitely a delicious breakfast. This really is a great place to stay for weekend getaway or an anniversary weekend. Or for any occasion anytime. It is in a fantastic location with stores and restaurants everywhere within 2 miles. I enjoyed my stay and will be enjoying futures stays as well. read more

Top notch staff, nice rooms, and great location. 2 major problems are the TV is a 24" and you are over 25 feet away from the TV, so laying in bed and watching TV isn't really an option. The food was just ok, very disappointed in the waffles, my wife and I thought it was a biscuit mix they used, very dry and bland. I agree on the Shasta, void those and add major brands in the snack bar. It also won't be my first choice for a getaway next time, unless the some things change. read more

Bed, minus breakfast. We had a great time. The only reason I docked stars is because the bed in the romeo & juliette was pretty awful. We slept in a hole for 2 nights. They really need to replace the mattress. Unsure if the other beds are as worn out, but other than poor, somewhat painful sleep, the castle is fun, clean and we may try it again someday... after covid, so we can experience breakfast too. read more

UPDATED 10/4/16: Recent change of ownership. New owners have tacked on $30+ to each room per night. They've also upped the prices for their "add-on" packages. The previous owners of this place seemed to care about customer service and making our stay memorable. All the new owners seem interested in is making $$. Very Disappointed! ORIGINAL 10/12/15: My hubby and I really like this place! We come here 2-3xs a year, usually for our anniversary and a couple of other special occasions. The inn itself is adorable. Like it's name implies, it's castle-like, made of stone with ivy climbing the walls. There is a garden in the back that is enclosed entirely by trees so that you feel secluded from the outside world. In the garden there are a couple of benches, a brook, and a koi pond. Very serene at night. We've tried several of the 10 rooms. Don't judge them by the pictures they have on the website because they are terrible and don't do them justice. The rooms are themed, but not as over-the-top as the Anniversary Inn. Each has a huge tub (big enough for two) and the beds are always comfy with plenty of pillows. The staff is always friendly and discrete. Breakfast is included with your stay. You don't get to pick what you get, but we haven't found that to be a problem as the food is always good. They start you out with some homemade bread (banana bread this last time) with fresh fruit (orange slices and strawberries). Our last meal there comprised of 1/2 a belgian waffle, funeral potatoes, bacon, and orange juice. Now for the cons. The decor is pretty outdated. It's not a big issue in some of the rooms (considering their themes), but the old TVs (the one in our last one was updated, but I'm not sure about the other ones), "office" carpet, lack of paint, and old drapes really distract from the ambiance. It would be nice if they would update the movie collection with movies that have come out in this decade. The garden in the back is poorly tended to with lots of the decorations and lights tipped over. This last time we stayed here there were also children that wouldn't stop screaming and running up and down the halls; it would be great if they would make this place a child-free environment. We have stayed in several different rooms and have not been disappointed yet in our 12 years of coming here. We stayed in the kings lodge last night and it was amazing!
