It took me a couple of weeks after moving to Mount Pleasant to find this barbecue gem in my neighborhood. My wife and I were looking for somewhere to eat a little later than normal and noticed this group is open until midnight.. How convenient during the weekdays. Our server, Dirk was awesome, guiding us through the menu after realizing this was our first time. We started with pork Cracklins and shared the combo plate with the brisket chili mac & cheese, and an extra side to try their coleslaw. I highly recommend trying it this way liked all three loved the chili and the mac & cheese was definitely in my top five. The 80s theme music played well for me and my wife as well as that southern hospitality we've really come to appreciate we will be back. Can't wait to try their other locations around the area.. read more

Home Team BBQ - Pork Cracklin's with pimento cheese, the three meat combo pulled pork, jalapeño cheddar sausage, and 1/4 chicken, dark meat.l - Barbeque Near Me - Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

we used Home Team catering service for a large family gathering. they helped us estimate quantities needed for our group and we're flexible as to pick up location. the food items were ready at the agreed time and packaged so as to keep warm. the bbq, chicken and wings werecwell prepared ( just like in their restaurants) and well received by our guests. our selections were very reasonably priced. I recommend you consider their catering service if you have that need. read more

Stopped by Home Team BBQ on the way to the beach after getting rained out, and their first location... not a great! We were met with more glares than greetings, Headed over to the Mount Pleasant location of Home Team BBQ and what a difference. It was a little crowded, so the wait was longer than expected, but we ended up at the window seats Once we sat down, the bartender jumped right in drinks started, orders taken, no hesitation. (The hostess did come over with a table shortly after, but by then we were already settled in.) We ordered chopped barbecue sliders, brisket sliders, carnitas tacos, brisket tacos, potato salad, baked beans, and margaritas and everything hit. The food was flavorful, came out quick, and delivered exactly what you want from a solid BBQ spot. If you're choosing between locations, go to Mount Pleasant. Night and day experience. read more

Just as good as we remembered! Back parking lot has been finished. Fried Ribs still on the menu. They get very busy on game days so come early or be prepared to wait. Ps the wait was worth it. read more

Dinner take-out was ok. One of those nights with no time to cook. Take out was the only option for us. $125 feeds a family of two adults & 3-kids, had a bunch of leftovers. read more

Very good food. Excellent service. The pickles are homemade and I bought a pint to bring home. Brisket was lean. Coleslaw was a very unique vinegar taste but was very very good. Macaroni and cheese is to die for. Homemade pork rinds. The only negative is the portions are pretty small. Not like the normal bbq joint. read more

I dined here twice during my vacation in Charleston. The atmosphere is lively and friendly. The food was quite tasty; I tried almost everything on the menu, including ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and wings. All of the dishes were seasoned just right, but the wings stood out with their light char and smoky flavor. Additionally, the tater tots were delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient. read more

I emailed Home Team after a less than stellar to-go experience. They responded promptly and professionally. Mistakes happen. What matters is how a business responds when they do. In this case, they took my concern seriously and made things right. read more

We had such an amazing dinner tonight. We had a taste for BBQ ribs. They just came out of the smoker!!! Our waitress Brooke and manager Alex were outstanding!!! Looking forward to going again soon. Yea!! read more

Great experience from service to anbiance to food. Neat outdoor courtyard with large pic nic tables that offer the feel of old school Bar-b-que joint. Food was good. Our hats off went to the Bar-b-que nachos and also the smoked / sliced turkey. read more

Love this BBQ when I visit Mount Pleasant! The food is yummy but the frozen coffee beverage is worth the 9 hour drive!!!!

Decided to stop for lunch. We were blown away by the friendly service and the great food. Had the Pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and potato salad. My wife had the smoked chicken wings. The food was outstanding. The waitress we had was very helpful and gave us samples of a few of the drinks they have without even asking. Great place. Will be back. read more

This is a great location for potential customers on the north end of Mount Pleasant. They have a nice sized dining area inside, as well as a large outdoor area with picnic tables and tvs. I went with my parentals as an impromptu outing since they live nearby and the other locations have been great. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was an obvious wait, but people did not seem too stressed or anxious. Many had drinks and kids were running around in the "yard" to burn up some extra energy. The hostess actually anticipated a longer wait than needed, so that was a nice surprise. This would be an awesome place to come for a game. Everyone could have a direct view of the large screen TVs while they eat, drink, and socialize. The vibe is upbeat with some music playing inside and out, too. While we waited for a table inside, we went to the bar and ordered drinks. The set-up is similiar to what I have experienced at their other places. Laid back and friendly. Our server was phenomenal. Wish I could remember his name, because he was really that good. He was very attentive and helpful. They are known for their BBQ, but they do have other items as well. As far as the BBQ, you can get different styles to meet your preference, too. There is ample on-site parking in the dirt/gravel areas around the establishment, which is an added bonus. If you find yourself on that side of town, definitely stop in! read more

I'm pescatarian, so I'm not a barbeque person and can't comment on that. Home Team doesn't sell seafood, so my review will be based on the sides and apps that we shared. If you do not eat meat, they do have a couple of salad options and sides- and you will find enough to eat. I wound up at Home Team BBQ on a Sunday afternoon to celebrate a friend's birthday. She was the birthday girl, so it was her choice, and we ended up at two large tables outside. I recommend being seated outside here because inside is LOUD and the outdoor area is nice. You can watch one of the multiple NFL games on many TVs. I had the macaroni and cheese side, along with the fried mac and cheese, some tots, chips, and the Game Changer drink. If you order a Game Changer, do eat something and and don't plan to drink anything else- or have a driver. For only $15, it is delicious and probably the most economical way to get drunk in North Mount Pleasant. That liquor will sneak up on you. Our service was quick, as the server takes orders on a mobile device that sends them directly to the kitchen. He kept everyone's water glasses or wine glasses full, even with 20ish people. The restaurant was also fine with us bringing in a cake for the birthday girl. The only downside to Home Team is that the outdoor area is a little dirty/dusty, so dress accordingly. The common area isn't paved or cement. My purse fell onto the ground and was covered in dirt, so if you have a purse hanger, bring it- or just don't bring a purse. I do recommend Home Team BBQ as a great spot to dine out with a group- and even though this is far from me, I'd certainly come back here to celebrate a birthday. read more

I went to check this place out for lunch on the weekend on the recommendation of her friend. Nice modern looking place with the perfect vibe for a barbecue joint. The bartender I dealt with was very friendly. Since I didn't know how long it would be before I came back, I decided to try a medley of different items and went for the two meat platter. I must say that I was impressed with the flavor of the food and most of the sauces, especially considering it's a regional chain. For the meats, I went with the pulled pork and smoked turkey. I always try the meats before I sauce them. They both tasted good and the pork definitely didn't need a sauce. But I wanted to try them anyway. Naturally, the pepper vinegar sauce went best with the pulled pork. Of the other sauces. The one I liked the most was the mustard one. For sides, I ordered hash and rice, which was OK. The other side was collard greens and they were some of the best collard greens I've ever had. Wish they'd open up a place in NC. read more

Lots of families outside so we were directed to a table in the back in the corner under the big screen, so we could not watch the Masters well. No big deal thogh because the service was outstanding. The wings were tender and not too dry or overcooked with a tasty rub that goes well with the Alabama white sauce. You can not beat the Carnitas taco for taste and value! We shared the veggie plate which was quite good as well. read more

Food was excellent, quantity was great, taste was outstanding Service was good, could have used a refill on my tea. Food was served very quickly Now the bad news. The parking lot is full of deep holes, big holes, probably big enough to damage your vehicle The restaurant is incredibly LOUD It is almost impossible to carry on a conversation. There is an upcharge for cc/debit payment. The tables for two are really tiny, very little space I would highly recommend the food but eat outside or carry out read more

Amazing service amazing menu offerings with flavors and ingredients. You won't normally find at a barbecue place.. the landscaping is amazing. The outside seating is amazing and the interior is nicely decorated. If I lived here in the area, it would be my go to spot. read more

Mostly everything went great ! I would say the food is ALWAYS good! The drinks are always good!! The problem is that the tables are all so squeezed together you can't enjoy a meal or conversation with your table without being bumped or it's too loud to hear. Don't get me wrong, we have been going to home team barbecue ever since they originally opened on Sullivans Island. It was the place my aunt love to take everybody. So we were very excited to have a home team barbecue up our way. We've been there several times, but we would definitely go there more if the tables were a little spread out. I'm talking about the tables smack in the center in front of the bar. The food is amazing and we will continue to go there, just not as much as if we want a quieter dinner. The outside area is fantastic, but it's too dang hot to sit outside right now. We will definitely do that during the fall and the winter months. read more

. What a great place for an afternoon, a barbecue, drinks, beer, and great company. Food is outstanding, the drink of the day was game changer, and if one had to pick, I would do the pork barbecue over the brisket. Outstanding all the way around. read more

Stopped in on a weekday for lunch with my brother who is a first timer in Charleston and southern cuisines. We sat at the bar and was greeted by the bar tender with a big welcome. He was super cool and welcoming. We snagged a couple drafts and ordered the brisket sandwich with collard greens (bar tender recommended we try them if we never had them to dispel our reluctance to try them) and some fries. Sandwich was lean tender and fantastic and the bar tender was spot on with the greens. They were nothing like we expected, not bitter , had a ton of meat mixed in and are definitely on my list to get every time I come in. Gotta try the ribs and brisket combo next (with the collards of course) read more

We've eaten here often. Service has definitely gone down hill. Our server only came to our table twice and forgot part of our order, so some of us were left watching other people at our table eat. They didn't even seem to care how terrible they were with their service. read more

My GO-TO BBQ joint! Cool atmosphere at all locations and the best wings in the business! Their pulled pork nachos are a family favorite!!

The girl bartender with all the tattoos felt the need to ID my husband who is 60 and myself who's 58 for our drinks to make sure we weren't serving them to underage children at the bar however, my children who are all of drinking age and beyond we're not asked for their ID attention MPPD this is an establishment I would closely watch read more

Home Team is expensive but they have very good food so that makes the price more understanding! We always have outstanding service too!

Great food, great drink, great vibe. Love this place. They just need live music more often!

Outstanding experience at Home Team today. This was our first idiot to the Mount Pleasant location and it did not disappoint! The outside area is so spacious with lots of tables. The service was incredible and they got our food and drinks out to us efficiently without us feeling rushed. We started with wings and the burnt end French toast. As usual, the wings were absolutely delicious and the French toast was out of this world. I had the carnitas taco and the cheeseburger taco special. The rest of the table enjoyed a variety from salads to brisket to chicken and everyone was pleased. From our experience, the only improvement would be adding more fans. They only have a couple now and I think adding a few more would reduce the sweltering heat of summer. Overall though, excellent experience and we will definitely return! read more

We ca.e to check out HT since we did read about some issues with families with kids being out of control. Good for then but they did have a sign addressing this and i believe the outside was further developed than when it first opened. Anyway, we did not eat but will update the review when we do. I didn't take pictures of the inside but the noise level was loud - muxh louder than we prefer. The outside is where we will go with our doggo - great set up! Cant speak about service either since we didn't sit down. read more

I see them getting an average of 4 but they are probably closer to a 5. I know, they are crazy busy and you've got to wait but we founds two bar stools quickly, the brisket chili nachos were great, my wife got signature slushee drink (a little overpriced in my opinion) but she enjoyed it and their beer selection is good enough for sure. read more

Went to Home Team today for the first time in about three months. Gretchen was our bartender. Amazing service. She's was so nice and professional. Squeaky was also roaming around and checked on us often. Can't say enough positive things about these two. They've always been attentive and friendly. I asked this other guy "John" for some Alabama white sauce and he just gave me this look, didn't say a word and walked away. About 5 mins later he came back and placed the sauce in front of me. He again didn't say a thing to me. I said thanks and he just walked away. I hate to sound like a Karen, but if I ever go back and he's there, I'll turn around and leave. Terrible attitude read more

Always love a trip to Home Team. We typically go to the downtown location but decided to give MTP a try today. The space has much more outdoor seating as well as multiple tables outside for waiting if you want to snag a drink at the bar while you wait. The manager was very present and helpful during our visit. We brought our dog and multiple staff checked in on him to ensure he had water and treats - such a thoughtful service. For our meal we did the wings and my favorite home team salad. My husband gave the turkey rachel special a try and this has to go on the permanent menu! I don't even like turkey Rachel's but tried to steal one of his halves because it was so good. Great experience as always and the perfect place to spend your game day with just your significant other or a large group. read more
