Jhonny met me for a quote on 4th of July, he was at work the following week and when I asked for more repairs he and his crew went on a Sunday to get the job done. No matter how busy he found a way to help me. They left everything clean and no issues, great attention to detail. During construction I asked Jhonny about our flooring in our bathroom upstairs. When we had our bathroom remodeled a few years ago the installers didn't properly waterproof or level the floor so we were having the grout crack and the floors were squishy in parts. I'm confident that his team know what they're doing and we will be using them in the future if anything else comes up. They are also priced reasonably and very communicative.

Instead, they can't bother to figure out what 2 simple gutter pieces cost, & wanting to fill the holes w/hydraulic cement (insane), they just list a labor charge, & ask for 10% down, labor & material billed daily, & a credit card on file, I called them to speak to a total incompetent who then hands it over to Dick Hoerr, who called me a "social idiot", and a "moron", & that he'd never do a job for me. As if I would EVER consider a contractor who would call me filthy names & doesn't even know how to do the job. You don't pour 20-30 ft. of hydraulic cement in the holes - you cover the holes with rubber or aluminum & then coat that w/a small amount of hydraulic cement. Then, in his answer to one of the numerous negative reviews, he writes: "We are the highest rated handyman company on Angie's in the United States and we are located here in Chicago. I personally live in the Chicagoland Area. Simply put this is one of those landlords that attempts to beat down labor after they work on his home in an effort to maximize his profit. He says one thing in a review and then did the exact opposite." BEWARE and DON'T USE THEM!

Their prices are reasonable and fair especially for the quality of work you'll receive. I initally had them repair a drywall hole & install bathroom vanities. But about 6 months later, I had them to tile my kitchen floor and backsplash. When they removed my damaged floor, we found out the sewage pipes under the house has cracked or completely broken. They went in, cleaned up the raw sewage, and replaced all my sewage plumbing. Their price was a great value for the work they completed. They still finished within the week! Incredible! Handy Fellas was hired on May 11, 2019 for a $23,800 project quoted for completion in 3-4 weeks…read more After many delays Jacob agreed to finally "wrap" the project on September 23, 2019. He has been paid 90% of the project amount to date and left behind inferior workmanship, debris from demolition, and zero communication of how he plans to resolve this despite multiple attempts to contact him. We were willing to come to a resolution with Jacob so long as he provided satisfactory work, but due to his unresponsiveness, we have since hired a replacement and are looking at another $9,100 to FIX + COMPLETE the work that he was initially hired for. Our experience with Jacob & Handy Fellas was incredibly disappointing. In the end, the project is costing us far more money and time than expected because of our decision to hire this contractor. -------------------------------- In response to business' comments: Feel free to choose any of the texts or emails sent to you dating back to September 24, 2019. Looking forward to hear how you plan to resolve this.

However, he couldn't repair one cabinet hinge due to a broken piece and asked us to purchase a replacement. In the meantime, he adjusted the other hinges that were working fine, which made the cabinet doors function worse than before. On his second visit, he said the part we bought wasn't correct, took a sample with him to purchase the right one, and again left the doors misaligned. After multiple calls and messages over several weeks, we've received no follow-up and no return visit to complete the job. It's disappointing because the first impression was so positive. We were hoping for a better outcome and a repair company we could rely on for years to come. Unfortunately, the job remains unfinished and our cabinets are now in worse shape than when he started.

(Sorry to yell but they are seriously That awesome!)…read more I have been meaning to write this review for weeks and although I can go on for days about EcoBuild, I will try to keep it short. Unfortunately my house has flooded twice with city sewage within 7 months of each other. I live in Chicago north-side. I have owned my place for nearly a decade and this was The first time I had ever experienced flooding in my life. Both times I need it substantial reconstruction. The first time it happened my reconstruction crew was just 'Okay'. The owner was a nightmare. Crew was pleasant but work with shoddy, my home is not treated with care and several personal items disappeared - allegedly "thrown out" but believe they were stolen. Also to this day, I still am paying for repairs for things the first crew "reconstructed" incorrectly. However when Dave from EcoBuild showed-up: recommended by their sister company which I used for my mitigation (Green Attic they are also fantastic), I was immediately put at ease. He has a very reassuring quality about him. My quote was very reasonable for the work that needed to be done. But more importantly his crew (Lucas and Matthew) was so efficient and professional and prompt. They did preventative things that I didn't even know was supposed to be done by the first reconstruction crew. They handled my home with care and treated it with respect. And they worked fast! When they were done they actually cleaned up and sanitized everything again. I was so pleasantly surprised by this! Lucas and Matthew made it a point to satisfy the customer. Thanks guys! After the job was complete a supervisor comes over to view the work before final payment is requested. Just the other day Dave himself, came by to touch up something that I noticed - weeks after they completed the job. That is professionalism. that is quality! I pray to God I never flood again but if I do, Green Attic and EcoBuild are who I would call and who I recommend to others.

He claims "he takes care of his customers" but if tardiness, unproductive and unprofessionalism is how he gauges his customer service, then he is not your guy. They don't give written estimates, and I never got a receipt when the work was completed. I asked for a receipt and he said he was out of invoices. The estimate changed after the work was done, the initial estimate for the living room, kitchen, and 1 bedroom was $1400 labor only, I paid for paint.. Then when they were finished, the price went up to $1950. I didn't know what to say. And the man spoke broken English and I felt we were getting nowhere and then, I didn't want an altercation so I wrote out a check for the full amount. I put a stop payment on the check until we can get things worked out. And he's not willing to work things out. Even though there is no written estimate to the effect that I agreed to almost $2000 for a tiny 1 bedroom apartment, I would've never agreed to such a price, not including paint. I have been in business myself for almost 24 years and carry an invoice booklet with me, So as to write everything that I'm going to do. And then I get a signature for agreeing to my price. That is the way business is always done. Especially when you get your car fixed just for example. Now he expects the police to come after me with no written estimate, No receipt and no signature. I would NEVER HAVE AGREED to such an outlandish price!!!!. I called the Westchester police and they have no idea that he is running a business in their town. ON a lighter note, They did excellent work, and I am very happy with the results. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm being fleeced.. It wasn't worth $2000 plus $435 in paint. Would I recommend them? Yes but get a written estimate!!!!!!!
