We were seated immediately as we arrived before the 6 pm rush. Our table ordered an array of appetizers including the lapas, linguica, codfish fritters, and mussels. All the appetizers were very tasty. For entrees our table ordered grilled octopus, octopus stew, and the rice dish that came with half a lobster. While everyone else said their meals were great, my grilled octopus lacked flavor and was extremely chewy. Our server was kind and very helpful. I would give this place another try but maybe try a different dish.

The restaurant is located in a small plaza with plenty of parking which is nice. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance because once you step inside you are nicely surprised by the super cute decor and how cozy and nice the place is. The waiter was very nice and attentive and recommended some entrees since it was our first time dining with them. There was so much to choose from because everything sounded so good. They even had a specials menu with very reasonable prices. They had a lobster dish special that was only $30! Wow! They gave us complimentary olives and warm bread with butter which was also really nice. We decided on wine because a half bottle was only $12! That was perfect for the both of us! We got the soup of the day which was kale with sausage and it was so good! There were big chunks of sausage and the delicious broth was perfect for a cold winter night. My boyfriend went with their sea bass which was a whole fish and it was nice and flaky and super yummy. I think the star of the night was my fegioda mariscos dish. The seafood and lobster looked amazing and tasted amazing! I especially enjoyed the red bean broth it paired well with the shrimp, mussels, clams and lobster! We were stuffed but satisfied by the end of our meal and wished we had room for dessert because the three options they had also sounded very good, but there's always next time! We will definitely be back!

Very dissatisfied with this restaurant. My friend and I went for lunch. When we got there, the…read moreservice was in a bad mood. There was no rice, and the atmosphere was bad. When I went to pay, the price was wrong and I still had to pay! It costs $28 to eat as much as you want, but if you can pay by weight, too. In my case, my heavy meal cost $37. Normally, when it costs more than $27, they only charge $27 because it doesn't make sense. Well, the woman charged me $37. When I saw this, I questioned her. She told me that she couldn't give me my money back because it had already been charged on the computer! In other words, they stole it! I don't recommend anyone to go to this establishment! It's horrible, everything is really bad! I recommend you go to Alma Gaúcha!

The owner was at the cashier, he said it was fine, I asked again if they would charge differently and he said NO, so I went ahead and paid for my food. The guy(owner)looks like a scammer, I don't know why I didn't check sooner but when I got home I had a bad feeling and when I looked at the receipt, I found out he robbed me by overcharging. So I weighted my food in my scale and it was way less than what I paid for, the owner put a heavy plate under my containers but didn't reset the scale to make it heavy. What really got me is that he kept lying straight to my face, I asked multiple times. I felt so horrible that I lost my appetite and threw away most of my food

This is in my neighborhood and something I've been wanting to try. The place is sparse with Univision news on the television. I like it because I try to pick up what little spanish I can and try to follow the news stories. I loved the grandfather clock in the corner of this cute little shop. Sitting down I had waited about 10-15 minutes. A gentleman had come in, went in the back. The proprietor must have been in the back because soon she was out taking my order. I got a pizza pastel and cheese pastel (although I was trying to order some cheese balls, or Pao de Queijo, because I have had them at Peabody Bread Company and they're delicious and wanted to try these. But my pronunciation was severely lacking apparently!) with a cup of coffee. Coffee was good, and the pastels were piping hot and delicious. The pizza pastel is a little misleading, diced tomatoes/ham with cheese and seasoned with pepper for the filling. Still delightful and filling in the morning.

After an easy 5hr bus ride from Albany (ride included 1 stop), I thought I'd be wiped- but…read morehonestly, when my daughter picked me up from South Station in Boston, it gave me a second wind. She'd mapped out a perfect little afternoon and evening, starting with an indoor market that was full of local art and vintage charm. By the time we wrapped up there, we were hungry. With so many restaurant options around, we chanced it and landed here. The moment you step inside, you're hit with that scent of garlic and seafood. My kid and I gave each the 'look' that said: this is it! Casa Portugal is inviting and decorated in soft blues+whites giving a coastal feel and the service equally matched the energy perfectly: attentive and kind. Our plump and juicy shrimp in tomato sauce starter was rich and full of garlic. It was the kind of appetizer where you find yourself wanting extra bread just to sip up that garlicky sauce. For our main plates, my kid picked the grilled octopus, and I went with the sea bream. The octopus was "like butta," and had that perfect char on the outside but silky inside. My sea bream was nice and I particularly liked that they got rid of the head and tail for me. Both our man plates by the way- had a nice amount of potatoes and steamed vegetables. And here's another part that really stood out- pricing. For the quality and freshness of the seafood, everything felt reasonable. All in all, come to Casa P. for a good meal. From the moment you walk in and smell that garlic in the air to that last bite of seafood, it really delivers on every level.

We started off with a pitcher of sangria, as did many other couples around us. The sangria was delicious, one of the better ones I've had. Fruitful and sweet, very refreshing. They bring bread to your table to start, it was very good especially with some butter and olive oil on top. I do wish it were toasted or warmed but it was still fresh. We also ordered the appetizer, Chouriço Assado no Fogareiro (Grilled Portuguese Sausage). This came to us straight off the flame and was nice and hearty. I ordered off of the specials menu, Bacalhau com natas (Cod with Portuguese cream). It was very yummy, fresh fish and a light cream. It came with salad but I asked for rice. Instead of substituting the waitress gave me both and charged an extra $5...oh well. Salad was good and rice too. My boyfriend got the Filetes de Peixe (Fried fish filet with salad, rice & potatoes). He enjoyed his too! Those potatoes were yummy. We chose fish and most of the tables around us did too. We skipped on dessert although all looked great. This place was quite charming inside and definitely is an awesome place to enjoy dinner. It was busy so we were lucky to snag a table as it's not big inside. We did feel as this cooking was very homemade and although super tasty and lovely inside, I wouldn't consider it fine dining. I would revisit!
