100 % PHENOMENAL!!!! Again, my husband and I were fortunate to get the last two remaining bar stools. (we got there at 5:45 pm). The bar is quaint-only seats nine and the restaurant area is also small and cozy and completely full. Sheena was our bartender who made an excellent espresso martini and Cosmo. We started with their grilled octopus appetizer which was fresh and tender. I had their fried rabbit special and Michael had their haddock casserole which had shrimp and scallops in it. Our entrees came with two sides-I chose the garden salad and vegetable medley (carrots/broccoli) and my husband had their homemade potato chips which were awesome! All dishes were reasonably priced. Everything about this place was bad. The food and even the drink I ordered. The food was either salty or had no salt. I tried some of my friend's food and it had no salt meanwhile mine was too salty. The food took too long which we were very patient and didn't complain about but it wasn't even worth the wait. We will not be returning again. read more

We absolutely love this restaurant. We generally sit at the bar, but the times we do sit at a table I recommend making reservations as it is a smaller place. My favorite dishes here are the mushroom chicken and steak tips. They have a great selection of specials and if they have the carne guisada or carne estofado don't sleep on it. They also have an amazing rice and beans that is not on the menu, but we found out about when another regular ordered it. I get it almost every time we come now. I've never had a bad meal here and often leave with enough food for lunch the next day. Portions are generous here read more

Trackside Bar & Grill When you are in Peabody for the first time, it feels like you are in a area of the unknown looking off into the sea. Didn't expect to find a grill and bar with such delicious portuguous seafood dishes. I stopped by to check out the bar and grill with a couple of coworkers for a late night dinner. We entered and the restaurant was filled with bustling employees and customers all ready rowdy and ready to eat! The menu is expansive, you can see the array of items on the menu. What you don't expect is the amount of items on the menu to be so fresh. We ordered the paella and the seafood stew. Both of them were fresh seafood from peabody. Amazing and refreshing. Each bit was a tantalizing taste of the sweet ocean with a variety of species. Great place to check out! read more

The service was horrible. We were a party of 4, there by 5pm on Saturday night. Restaurant not busy! We were told that the table needed to be vacated soon because they needed to fill it with other parties. Super rude so my friend had appetizers, paid and left. Restaurant was still empty when we left around 5:30pm. This waiter not only lost a huge order for the restaurant but he lost at least a $30 tip. This little side street restaurant can't afford to treat customers poorly. My friend comes to this restaurant weekly and this was my first time. I didn't eat and left because of how horrible we were treated. What a shame. I really wanted to try it but will never come back and it's only 3 miles from my house. read more

Shellfish stew for 2 was incredible! Shellfish cooked perfectly. Great, friendly service. Reminiscent of our honeymoon in Portugal.

Fantastic. But, make a reservation and get there early. Use the parking area across the street. Now, for the food. Dinner on 5/30. One- seafood stew-extraordinary. Chock full of various seafood components. Very flavorful tomato based stock. Two-salad with shrimp-extraordinary. Fresh as can be. Coupled with a side of broccoli and huge sliced carrots. Fresh as can be. Place was packed by 6p. Server had her hands full but was on task and very pleasant. My hat is off to the two older gents doing the cooking. Hidden Gem!! The food is delicious. The bartender Jessica made us feel so comfortable. She gave me a great recommendations. My BF had the Portuguese Stew with lobster, scallops, mussels, shrimp, clams and calamari with a side of rice. He says enjoyed it. He ate the whole thing. I had pork and clams with potatoes and a delicious sauce. My GF had a pork sandwich that looked amazing. I'll try that the next time. Also the patrons at the bar were so friendly. What a great find this turned out to be! I was craving authentic Portuguese food and Trackside did not disappoint! It's a very low key environment, no frills, but the food is incredible. Crusty bread and a bowl of olives were brought right away. There were many specials available but I went with a salad, which was very fresh, and for the main course I had the Portuguese Paella, which is enough for two people, and, is absolutely perfect! A pot of lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, calamari, squid, chicken and linguica with risotto and peppers that is seasoned to perfection! The best thing I have eaten in a loooooong time! Highly recommend it Otherwise, the kind and attentive service was appreciated. My only small complaint is that the tv in the bar was playing an Entertainment Tonight type show loudly and it was kind of intrusive, music would have been better for the atmosphere, but I will definitely be going back! read more

We had a very nice quiet dinner on a Saturday night recently. We had a simple meal of swordfish and baked stuffed haddock that came with 2 sides including a very nice salad and potato or vegetable. We tried the Portuguese wine and a custard type pastry for dessert, both delicious. We liked the wine so much we already purchased a bottle. Next time we'll try more authentic Portuguese specialties. I went here today because I looked at their Yelp profile and I like the prices. Those prices must be years old one example fish and chips for $10.95 is now $19.95 every single thing I wanted to order was way more expensive than on their profile page. Lying about your prices is not a good business strategy. I will never return besides the food wasn't that good. read more

This is a small restaurant that seems to be popular to locals. There is only one server for 8 tables. He does not seem welcoming to people that are not natives, locals, or regulars. Very disappointing. The food is pretty good. I was in search of something different that didn't fall in the category of fast food. I ordered the Garlic Shrimp appetizer. It came with about 8 shrimp, but it was not as flavorful as I'd hoped. I was not given my bread until the meal came. The server never stopped by to see what I needed. I would have asked for a lime or lemon. While flavor was slightly missing, the portion was good and the food was piping hot. I will say that when I called ahead of time. I received good customer service. I may come back to try other menu items, but that's a serious maybe. read more

Was looking to try someplace new tonight, especially because my husband loves Portuguese food and the yelp reviews were great, we figured we'd give it a go! I was surprised by the exterior. It's on a very shady side street and doesn't jump out at you as a highly rated yelp restaurant... but in we went. The restaurant was busy and small, most all the tables were full. We tried the pork alentejana.. cubed pork, potatoes and littleneck clams. The sauce was outstanding, but the meat was definitely overcooked. My husband ordered a steak with an egg, both of these were overdone as well. (Isn't the egg supposed to be runny as it's cracked over the steak? The entire yolk was cooked through). Grilled octopus appetizer was tasty. My seafood stew was good as well but I wouldn't say it was over the top outstanding... just good. The waiter was slammed, the only waiter in the restaurant at that time! He could've used some help. It was sort of stressful ordering from him since he was clearly stressed too. Maybe on a less busy night we'd have a better experience, but I'm not sure we will be back in the very near future. read more

I wanted to come here for sometime because of the reviews and because I miss the small Portuguese restaurants I used to go to with coworkers in Caracas, a long time ago. I was delighted and will be back. I ordered a Portuguese beer, collard greens soup, grilled cuttlefish (calamari), and a decaf expresso. All perfect! Have you ever praised a decaf expresso? Food can take a while if the restaurant is busy, but it's definitely worth it. We ended up getting there around 8pm on Friday and had to wait for 45 minutes for the food. Good thing they give you snacks (olives, bread, and salad/soup if your entree comes with one) while you wait. We ordered seafood stew and the octopus. Ordered food for a party of four at 1:30pm and after asking what's taking so long they replied, "alot of take out orders and it is what you ordered"?? This did not make sense at all. There is absolutely nothing better than stumbling across a restaurant that turns out to be something unforgettable! My husband, friends and I were in Boston for a weekend, and got a sudden craving for a Hawaiian staple, Portuguese Bean Soup. There began our epic journey to find a Portuguese restaurant. I don't even know how they found this place since I ended up passing out in the backseat of the car, but once we stepped inside, we knew we had found a hidden gem. The owner(?)/manager(?)/waiter was very attentive and apologetic that we would have to wait for a bit and kept checking on us and giving us time updates for when we would be seated. There was a couple next to us who was finishing up and they told us that the seafood stew was amazing, so I kept that in mind. Once we got seated, we were taken on a culinary journey that was out of this WORLD! Our lovely waiter recommended a delicious sparkling wine and we ended up ordering the Flaming Linguica, two types of seafood stew and the marinated steak. First of all, the bread is stupidly good. Crisp thin crust and warm fluffy insides. I shudder to think how many of them I ate that night. The linguica was served LITERALLY on fire and the crunch of the skin and the slight char was perfect when I paired it with the bread. If that wasn't enough, the stew made me literally moan out loud. In between every bite of the spicy tomatoey broth, the fresh and plump clams, mussels, scallops and more, all sopped up with the fresh rolls, I kept going on and on about how good it was. When the table next to us left, they said that all we were missing was Anthony Bourdain and we would have had a show fit for the Food Network. Keep in mind that this restaurant is quite small. Off the top of my head I believe there are like 6 tables that seat four each so you may need to wait if it is busy. All I know is that this will be a sure repeat visit when I get back to Massachusetts for Pax East! read more

Once to take the order and once to pay the bill. mind you that the place was EMPTY!!!! I got the squid which was tasteless and harder then a rubber band. I sent it right back. My dad got the fried fish which could have been better used as I hammer. My mom got the cod fish cakes which were obviously store bought!!!!! What a disaster. They said no wait now so I asked them do I need to make a reservation. They said no. We arrived and there were four empty tables. Great I said to myself. When we said table for 2 he asked if I had a reservation. We said no He said well we're full. I said there's free tables and you told me I didn't need a reservation. Well we should have walked out. We decided to sit at the bar even though I'm 6'6 and it's not really comfortable We ordered the grilled octopus appetizer. Very nice. I ordered the casserole and my date ordered the special coconut cod. I had to ask him multiple times for water. I had to ask for my salad twice. There were 2 seats open and he decides to slam an extra seat in.at the bar. The woman was right on top of me. Our dinners came and what I got was not a casserole but a small piece of haddock with breadcrumbs. My date got something that looked like what I had. I asked the waiter this doesn't look like coconut cod. He went to the kitchen and said yes it was. I asked where the coconut was and he ignored me. The worst part was that our fish was salted cod not fresh fish as advertised. It's the next morning and I'm still tasting salt. By the end of the meal there were still two empty tables that never filled up The bill was 60 with no drinks. A rip off for what we got. Will definitely go back. Wife had beef stew so big we shared leftovers for lunch the next day. Two sides are included in the price. I had the cod and shrimp combo-- more cod than I could finish. They responded perfectly to my scallop allergy, which has not been the case in other restaurants serving lots of seafood. Also, the Portugese beer was good and priced competitively and wine pour wasn't skimpy. read more

Come around 1pm it was slow but their seems to have a few regulars ordered sea food stew mild spicy came with bread and choice of salad or soup I picked the soup it was onion soup it was good but not great when the main course came out I I ate the whole thing the broth was very tasty it wasn't heavy broth was light and very flavorful which is a plus for me. I just hope they cooked it a minute less some of the seafood was a little chewy other then that service was good and friendly ...
