I've been coming to this salon for a bit now and have always loved it! I went yesterday and was absolutely obsessed with my nails--they looked so good I could've kissed the woman who did them. Unfortunately, one broke less than 24 hours later, so I went back to have it fixed. The woman who originally did my nails wasn't there, so someone else repaired it, and I'm honestly so disappointed. The fix looks nothing like the rest of my nails--it's way too thick, the French tip is crooked, and even after I pointed it out, the correction still didn't match. Decor: chic looking decor, cute color changing led strips on the ceiling and underneath the pedicure chairs. Pedicure chairs were beige with glitter mixed into the material. Color choices: I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A LARGE SELECTION OF DIP POWDERS AT ANY SALON IN MY WHOLE LIFE!!! It made it very difficult for me to decide on what colors I'd like and took me much longer BC Er than usual. manicure experience: I had cut into my pointer finger with a knife about two weeks ago and my nail was looking weak in the top right corner. Henry patched me up with some acrylic over the broken nail before starting the gel manicure and boy does it look amazing!!!!! He also used this cool polish that he put on my gel polish that allowed him to scrape the polish tight off. It was quick, and way less cumbersome than the aluminum needed to remove dip powder. The water that I put my hands in to dip my hands was cold and it was a little unpleasant but other than that I would recommend the manicure! Pedicure: I enjoyed my pedicure a bit less. The water was very cold. I dipped my toe in and said it was cold and Henry turned up the heat but it was Luke warm at best and it made it a bit harder to enjoy the pedicure. I'm also very attentive to my cuticles and nails on my toes. I do them myself about once a week. Henry began filing my toe nails and it hurt a bit since they were already trimmed down. Despite saying "oww" rather loudly he continued and I grimaced through the rest of the filing and cuticle removal. I would have liked him to ask me if I'd like them filed or not so that way I could refuse the service because it was hard for me to ask him not to after he already started the process, although I do think I could have spoken up. Next time I plan a pedicure here I will plan on waiting out my normal routine on my toes or just stick to a manicure. read more

I few weeks ago I went to Hollywood Nails. This used to be my go-to, but I'm feeling like it might be time for me to go elsewhere. I showed up on time for my appointment for a mani-pedi and eyebrow threading. I was choosing a color and there was a guy getting in my personal space so I asked him if he wanted to pick a color first. Turns out he worked there and was impatiently waiting for me to choose a color. He grabbed all of the gel pallets that I was looking at and led me to a pedicure station saying I could pick the color later. I sat down and plunged my feet into cold water and then he turned on the massage chair without asking me. He fixed the water and turned of the chair when prompted, but his frantic energy was killing my vibe. He didn't even ask me what kind of pedicure I wanted. Despite the frantic energy and abruptness, Henry did an awesome massage and did a really good job on my nails so I started feeling better about things. After the manicure, it was time for my eyebrows, but the brow lady was busy. Henry said it would be one minute, but it ended up being a little while so I decided to get my eyebrows done later and went up to pay. Then the brow lady came out so I got my eyebrows threaded as planned. Neelum is the best!!!! She always does a great job. After the brows, I went up to the counter to get change to tip Henry. I had already tipped Neelum. No one came up to the counter so I left without tipping him. I'll go back for eyebrow threading, but I'm on the hunt for a new nail place. read more

Last weekend, I accompanied my wife, who got a gel dip manicure here. She had come here regularly a few years ago, but had stayed away for a while after she got into an accident on Bald Hill Road. After being disappointed with another nail salon, she decided to return to Hollywood Nails. The salon underwent an expansion and renovation sometime during our hiatus. It's much larger and elegant, and actually a pretty relaxing place, even if you are not the one being worked on. Despite being a walk-in, my wife did not have to wait long at all for a nail technician, and they were fairly busy. My wife was impressed with the first manicure she got since returning here; her polish lasted well over three weeks with no chipping, and could have went longer, except for the gap in the polish from her nails growing out. Last weekend's visit was her second recent manicure. The nail technician who worked on her worked efficiently, but did not rush, and did an excellent job. He made the somewhat complex gel dip process look easy, and the results look beautiful, as you can see in the photo. In contrast, my wife tried to do gel dip manicure at home a couple months ago, and it was butchery. I told her that from now on, forget trying to give yourself a home manicure, and just come here instead - she would actually save money, I'm sure, since the prices seem reasonable here. Went for an acrylic manicure, I got pink chrome nails that came out very good, I loved the color and shape. The technician cut every finger and I was bleeding while he continuously was putting hydrogen peroxide on them without saying sorry or acknowledging that he cut me. Went back 2 weeks later to get them removed. I had a different man, I asked if he could soak them off because ripping them off is very painful and damages my already thin nails. I'm only leaving this place at a 3 star because the manager is very unprofessional and so is Rosie the nail technician. We came in for nail services for a wedding and gave the expectation beforehand. My lady Cathy and my sisters lady kristina was amazing went above and beyond and made the experience perfect as it should be when you pay for services such as this I wish I can give them a 5/5 star, kristina also gives amazing wax services! Rosie came into the pedicure later than the other women and Cathy and Kristina took their time to make sure it was what we wanted but my sister had Rosie and she immediately was trying to get her to pay for more services and did a sloppy pedicure no hot towel and no massage and no scrub. She completely half assed the entire pedicure. And when my sister went to tell the manager he made it a huge deal and was trying to defend her saying she works faster than the other ladies and that her service was fine and that she could massage her legs and give her a hot towel after her toes were already done and wet. I am very disappointed that instead of helping out a customer when being upset about the service he validated a bad service that was given to her on such a special occasion. Then when he noticed we were going to leave a review he gave us a discount and lotion however I feel as if he should have treated the customers before defending his nail tech and being rude to a paying customer since we weren't trying to make it a scene at all she spoke to him respectfully about her service and we should have gotten the same response. He asked Rosie to come up and she kept saying she did what she did everything she needed to do, and laughed at the fact that she asked for a discount for not receiving the full services she should have. Went in here for a gel manicure and was done within fifteen minutes. The woman didn't even soak my nails and just ripped off my cuticles dry causing me to bleed. There were little fuzzies under the polish and a huge piece of gauze from trying to get my nail polish off was STUCK under my nail and then painted over. I had a lovely mani time experience here. The place is HUGE tons of mani + pedi chairs + is SUPER clean. I went in last Saturday (this is the 2nd time I've been there) + had no problem getting a seat within 2 minutes. I decided to try the gel nails + there was a girl next to me that said she LOVED the place. They had probably 40 colors to choose from for gel alone! The guy that did my nails took his time, was super friendly + did a REALLY good job. I have had the gel on for 6 days now + not a single chip! This is going to clearly CHANGE MY LIFE. I also happened to meet the eyebrow ladies that work there who are also Persian-- they were adorable + sat and chatted with me for over half an hour. Just to be NICE. Go figure. The best part of this experience was that my nails were completely dry when I was told to wash my hands AFTER the polish was put on. SO WORTH EVERY PENNY. For once in my life I didn't have to spend the rest of the day worrying about everything I touched. My gel nails cost $22-- not toooo shabby at all. We'll see how long they last but I've heard over 2 weeks. So super pumped about this. There is a small parking lot outside + a lil waiting area inside. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOLLYWOOD NAILS! I'm very particular about how I like my acrylic nails done: short, thin, square but rounded corners, & I have to have the PERFECT color. Everyone who works there is great at what they do! I have the same guy do my nails every week, my dear Henry! If you like crazy, unique designs ask for Cindy! It is very clean! They are very sanitary and neat... Although it does smell strongly of chemicals in there, they try their best to keep fans on; I would NOT recommend bringing BABIES in there because of this (even though I see people do it all the time). The waiting room has plenty of seating... They have plenty of chairs for manicures and a huge, luxurious, separate room for pedicures-- complete with a juice bar! They even have a separate room for just waxing (they do all kinds of waxing O.o even Brazilian). By the way, I got my eyebrows done there and it was the least painful experience I have had-- ask for Rosie for waxes; she's the best! They also do threading there too. Initially went in for a pedicure, loved the service and decided to go back for a dip gel mani and second pedi. The pedi was great again. I'm writing this review exactly one week after my dip gel mani and 3 of my gels have lifted off. I expected it to last at least 2 weeks, like gel polish/shellac, so am disappointed. As with gel polish/shellac, dip gel and whether it lifts is often a result of the quality in the application. Therefore, I will likely not be back and look elsewhere for dip gel. So I wanted to give this place 3 visits before being able to give an appropriate review. My 3 visits included a full acrylic set, acrylic fill and pedicure. I have had considerably bad luck at most nail salons in the area so I hadn't set my bar too high here.. the place is small and sort of crammed away on route 2, almost to the point that you would miss it. I am glad I found it since I was pleasantly surprised! My first visit was during a busy time so I expected the wait, but was disappointed when no one greeted me to ask what I needed for a good 30 mins, so I thought they didn't see me and I almost left. So glad I didn't leave! My usual experiences other places have my polish chipping or my nails lifting and coming off after a week and a half. I've been able to push my fill to about every 3 weeks! (And probably beyond that with a neutral or light color) The techs take care in making sure every step is done from cuticle clipping to making sure the polish is perfect and even. I like my nails short and many places complain and leave them long... here they made them nice and short. As far as the interior, clean and small but not cluttered. A few tips: If paying with a credit card , bring cash for the tip. The parking lot is awful since it's near a light so I would recommend parking at Rite Aid next door, especially if you want to take a left turn out. The prices may be slightly higher than competitors, but I'm willing to pay it for good service and a long lasting fill!!! read more

I will never go back. The staff are rude and the tech I had was so rough on me. My legs were so sore after my pedicure "massage" and it wasn't worth it for the results. He doesn't tell me until AFTER he started on my nails that he couldn't do what I wanted, which I know is possible and explained how it's done and he just said no. Obviously just didn't want to do it. Then he tells me he's out of the color I chose off the sample nails for the second color I chose. He made my cuticles bleed and then stuck my bloody finger directly into the dip powder! I was horrified at how unsanitary it was. How often did this happen? The counter was freezing where I was left forever waiting for my nails to dry and when I noticed one was messed up he came running at me to yell at me not to move. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Here's why; Ok, so my husband got me eyelash extensions as a birthday gift since I've been talking about them forever. He went into Hollywood nails to set up the appointment and to prepay. Then, he gave me the appointment card on my birthday and told me everything was all set. Sweet, huh? I was so excited!! I knew very little about eyelash extensions or the process, so I really didn't know what to expect. On day of the appt. I went in & Cindy seemed really nice & my lashes looked pretty good when she was done. They were long like I asked.. A little stiff, but they looked good. One thing that struck me as odd is that it only took a short time for her to apply, maybe 30 minutes or so & even knowing very little about extensions, I knew they took a while to apply, Especially the first application. Not having anything to compare the process to, I shrugged it off. 2 weeks later I went in for a fill as I was instructed by Cindy to do. They didn't look as good as the first time. After a few days the clusters were falling out & the lashes seemed to get hard and really stiff. Also, I noticed an occasional natural lash in the extensions that fell out. I already decided I would only be getting this done one more time as I was worried about possible future damage & also didn't like how yucky they looked as soon as a day or two after the fill, but having an event coming up I couldn't leave them the way they were. When I went in for second fill I brought up my concerns up to Cindy & she assured me it was fine just don't sleep on them. Really??? Don't sleep on them?? I'm not a corpse! About a week later is when things got really bad...Every time a cluster of extensions fell out there would be a cluster of my natural lashes attached to the extension! I could even see the root to my natural lashes (not good!) I examined the bare spots after the "extensions" fell out & I could see that my natural lashes were either gone or 1/2 as short as they were before the "extensions"! Needless to say I was freaking out! I went to a dermatologist & a licensed cosmotogist to find out if my lashes would grow back & to find out if this could be fixed. I was told by both that this was due to improper application & was certainly not MY fault. Also, I learned that the extensions I got here were really not extensions just clusters of fake lashes glued to my eyelids. I actually could do the same thing to myself using products from the drugstore (see photos). So, it's like this- Cindy used cluster lashes not individual lashes. When my natural lash fell out during its natural cycle it was taking the "extension" aka cluster of fake lashes off & pulling lashes that weren't ready to fall off (because not every lash falls out at the same time). Like when you find an eyelash on your cheek that fell out... You don't find several. I went in to ask her to remove them & get a refund. She originally only wanted to give me the money for one fill back (seriously!). I told her I wanted it all. After all, my lashes are destroyed because of her. She said it was my fault because I must be allergic to the glue & then it was because I slept on my lashes. All and all she was completely rude and defensive as I stood there with chopped off lashes. How could it possibly be my fault? Am I supposed to sleep standing up? I explained the lash cycle and once she realized I did my research & sought advice from licensed professionals, she had the audacity to say that I should've known I wasn't getting individual extensions based on the cheap price! (Mind you this was a gift, I had no idea the price AND there is no eyelash extensions on their menu.. Things that make you go hmmmm). Then, at the very end she said, "sorry we couldn't do business." She never once apologized for ruining my lashes. She didn't even bother to look at the damaged lashes I had brought in for her to see. I also asked to see the glue she used and she told me it was "up front", but never showed me on the way out. Hmmmm... the photo I've included looks like all the supplies necessary for extensions were in that drawer & why on earth would you keep eyelash extension glue "up front" where you do nails? Is that what was used on me, nail glue? Who really knows but Cindy?! This was an awful experience. I urge you to check licenses before you get any cosmetology service especially involving your eyes! To be honest, after what happened to me I wouldn't even trust them to paint my nails! UPDATE: over two years later my lashes never recovered from the damage Cindy did to them. read more

The gentleman who gave me the pedicure was great and the foot and leg massage was heaven. The only thing that would be better would be a few extra minutes on the massage (I would tip more if he did hint hint) I always get pink and white set/fills. My nails always look fabulous when I leave there. I also got my eyebrows threaded while I was there. It is SO MUCH BETTER than waxing and I recommend it to everyone.
