Great nail salon, I've been going for years. Staff is friendly and caring and all do terrific work!

After having a pedicure at one shop in middletown... which I wasn't super happy with. I looked on yelp to find this place with Kelly's name mentioned. It was a 35 minute drive from where I live but I was determined to find the BEST place for me. I am super picky and being that we just moved to RI, I wanted to find my go to place. I called on my way and right when I got there Kelly sat me down and asked me what I was looking for. She made me feel comfortable and worked quickly to give me the shape/color I wanted. She asked me several times how they looked and if I wanted anything changed. I definitely appreciated the quick but very meticulous service. Always checking her work and making sure I was happy. I paid $45 (not including tip) which to me is definitely a great price for great work. I will be back to this place from now on. read more

She randomly decided not to take me due to "health issues" while she proceeded to see other clients. she put me with another girl. while it wasn't the new girls fault she did not do a good job. I have lived in Cranston for 3 years and have searcheddd for a great nail place since I moved here. I was told about Lyia's nails and to specifically see Rainy because of the shape I get (almond). I absolutely LOVE it here! The staff is very friendly, and Rainy is amazing, her work and personality! What I love most is that my nails can be problematic (constantly breaking nails) and Rainy said we are a team and need to work together! I love that! She is the best!! I made an appointment for a nail fill. My service was less than satisfying. The technician filed my nails down to an extreme. If I wanted nails as short as they were filed down I would have my own nails . The manicure tools actually nicked the edges surrounding the fingernail. It was actually painful The salon appeared clean which was nice. They are also charging the consumer for use of charge/debt cards. I will not be back. read more

My husband and I just left this wonderful establishment. My husband had his first pedicure ever and his feet were left soft and callus free and his nails were perfectly shaped and filed. I had a basic manicure and the woman I had was wonderful. One of the best manicures I've had. We are from out of town and this was something we wanted to do on a drizzly day. Clean and professional! I have been coming to this salon for almost 2 years now, even moved out of town and still drive down 30 minutes to get my nails done here. All of the ladies that work here do an amazing job, cannot recommend one over another because I have had them all at one point and never a complaint, my nails come out flawless every time. The salon is comfortable and clean, the ladies are friendly and most importantly for a single mom with limited time, I can get in and out fast! Never disappointed when I leave! I've never had a nail place before, but everyone at Lyia made it such a comfortable and fun experience that I won't go anywhere else now. Not only that, but their prices are so reasonable and consistent. I've taken my daughter there, I go with my sister all the time - they even asked where she was when I went alone. I went to this spa on 7/2 for a pedicure. Today on 7/4 my toe was really bothering me and when I looked down to see pus coming from my toe and it hurts really bad. My toe is infected! I do not recommend this place. read more

i went here for a full year and in the past few weeks it has gone tremendously downhill. takes hours to get nails done and i have a different person every time and each nail tech has a different level of experience and i started not knowing how long my nails would take and what they would look like. my last experience solidified why i am not going back. i spent TWO hours there for a dip manicure and pedicure and i didn't mind waiting if the nails were going to be good but they gave me a different nail tech last minute for painting and she only did one coat and was rushing and my nails have already chipped after a week. if you go you need to ask for a specific nail tech or else your nails will look like shit and or be there for hours. i am very upset. read more

I love this place! I went here for the first time and didn't wait at all the place is really nice and clean and the staff is friendly. They actually make conversation with you instead of making you feel like they're talking or judging you with one another. Super friendly and they pay attention to detail. I needed a new place to go since my old spot went downhill and saw them nearby on my Maps. Was not disappointed and the prices are great. This was a far more stressful than relaxing experience for me. After being very pushy about color choices, one woman began doing my nails, and when another woman came in she sent me over to start my pedicure although she had already began with my nails. During the pedicure they used hot stones which I thought was a pleasant surprise- until the stones began to burn my feet. I would take my foot off the stone and the woman would put it back on despite the fact that it was clearly uncomfortable. My cuticles were not touched and polish overlapped my nails on both my manicure and pedicure. Not only that, one woman had offered me a $5 student discount. When the woman who did my nails told me the total was $55 I politely corrected her because I was told it would come to $50. She said "yes" and handed me a receipt from my debit card that read $60! The other woman came over and tried to resolve the problem but the payment had already been charged to my card and it only resulted in a lot of miscommunication and unnecessary stress. Overall this was not a pleasant experience, I will paint my own nails before I return to this "spa" again. read more

I once used to get my nails religiously done every 2 weeks and tried almost every nail salon in this area and was never fully pleased with the results. I have since stopped getting my nails done that often but I did find this salon and I sooo wished I had found them earlier. They do great work, the atmosphere is great and the staff really friendly. My husband now gets me a gift card to this salon when ever I need a little pampering and I absolutely love going back. They offer a lot of services and is pretty moderately priced. read more

Went here on the recommendation of a friend, wasn't sure what to expect, but it was AMAZING. I got a great looking pedicure, the massage chairs were great, and they did a hot stone massage before the polish! I've never had that included anywhere else. It was great!!! Went for pedi. Will not go back. Communication was an issue. The nail tech clipped the edges of both of my big toenails sideways and pulled, even though I told her not to, so now I have 2 ingrown nails that hurt. This ruined my experience. read more

They started off good but they don't do a consistently good job. Pink and white acrylic you can see thru the white??? Looked like I did them at home. Asked for eyebrow wax and before I could reflect she had wax on my lip (which did not need waxing). Then because they use cheap or unclean wax I got a rash on my face only in the spots where she waxed! read more

They do great work here..however they're a bit pushy. I went in for a simple fill & solid color job.. but when I left I had had my eyebrows waxed, new set of nails (which was very much needed due to the terrible salon I went to before this place- Internationails in Cranston.. don't go there!), instead of a solid color she pushed me to do the more expensive french w/ gel top coat (also more expensive...), and I had to 3 times say no to a pedicure. But all in all, they do a really nice job- my nails look great & she did give me a $5.00 discount for it being my 1st time there :) The place is very clean & inviting, the prices are average ($25 full set, $12 mani or pedi, $12 eyebrow wax, etc),and the staff is friendly without being over talkative (I don't really like keeping up small talk with someone I can barely understand).. oh & they have a nice big screen tv to keep you occupied. This was the worst service I have ever received to get a fill. The lady spent the first 20 minutes talking to a coworker in another language and then proceeded to try to upsell me into gel (without telling me it was DOUBLE the price). During the entire time, she was not paying attention to what she was doing for most of my 1+ hours there. She kept looking at the other workers/customers. When applying the acrylic, she went over each hand 3-4 times, putting acrylic on each finger each time. Once she started buffing, several times she actually dug the buffer into my cuticles. It was horrible, one of my fingers was actually bleeding and she kept putting liquids on the area and it stung worse than anything. About 45 minutes in, she asked if I wanted a water and I said no. She proceeded to get up and go get herself a sprite and gave me and another customer a water, which was weird because I did NOT want water, I just wanted to get the hell out of there. Once I checked out and left, I examined my hands together and noticed that MANY of them are crooked and they are all different sizes! 3 fingers on my left have such thick acrylic and aren't shaped to look like a nail at all! I would attach pictures but you can only really see it when seeing both hands together. NEVER going here again!!!!!! read more

I was not pleased at all. I had read after that they try and push services on you which was not too bad since I had the man there but heard the woman doing it to another customer. I wanted a full set and she had tried to get me to put gel on top which I said no. He barely spoke unless it was to the woman in their language, was extremely rude and it came out terribly. My hands would lock because, as I told him, I have bad arthritis in my hands and he would turn them in all different directions, looked at me, smiled and asked if it hurt after he saw me cringe. My nails still hurt a day after(and would even if I did not have arthritis) and I am going to have to go to another nail place and get them fixed since instead of straight out, they widen as they go so it makes doing anything awkward. He also drilled down my natural nail too far so taking them off completely is not an option. read more

HORRIBLE. they are very rude. every time i went in and they told me where to sit someone would start and then they would have me move. ONE TIME I MOVED 3 TIMES. i mean obviously we all no that these salons always talk trash about us in their language. whatever, thats fine. but these people do not shut up. The place IS NOT clean and the owner (a woman) is very pushy. Always wanting you to add services I did not go in for! Constantly talking in a different language's not appreciate that at all. Will not go back -- the better place to go is The Nail and Spa Lounge on Bald hill road. Across from Wendy's Drive Thur. Horrible! I went there on my lunch break for what I thought would be a quick full set. First I asked for a plain full set, I ended up with white tips and glitter acrylic which I did not ask for. Not to mention the woman spent over 40 minutes just putting the acrylic on, I've gotten a complete pink and white full set before for a little over 30 minutes from my normal salon. After I was there for an hour I informed the woman that I was past my allotted time for my lunch break and I would do my topcoat at home. She argued with me and insisted I would be done in a minute, I was not. It took an extra 5 minutes for my gel top coat to dry and put lotion on, which is standard but I told her I was late. Then all along I think I'm getting a $25 full set, she charged me $45! When I asked her why she said it was because of the white tips, those do NOT cost an extra $20. Pink and white acrylic, yes but not white tips. She should've given me a discount when she saw how upset I was about being there for over an hour. Oh and all of my nails are crooked and not buffed correctly, and i was cut by the drill because she spent forever on each nail. I've been getting my nails done for 15 years and I've never had such a bad experience. read more

I went there today for the first time. The lsdy did a good job with the fill. She ask me if I wanted a gel polish, it last longer! I said okay, I left my reading glasses at home and could not see the receipt. She said the fill was $17. I signed the receipt and left. I got home to see my copy of the receipt was $32. I thought there was a mistake so I called and she said it was extra $15 for the gel polish. She should of let me know the price, very misleading and extremely disappointed. I will never go back, to many salons out there to choose from. I just feel I was misled. read more
