when i lived in canton, this is where i went to get my nails done. and they did such a fabulous job, for a great price. so great of a job that i kept making the drive after i moved to ann arbor. i'd get compliments constantly. they now have very attractive decor, with granite(like?) work stations, and comfy modern chairs. the past few times i've gone in, they've been a little less friendly and i've been a little less impressed each time. i kept going though, because i haven't gone anywhere else is so long. last time, i went in for a fill, and i needed one or two nails replaced. for 3 years, i paid $15 with a $5 tip everytime i got a fill with a french manicure. even if i had my whole set removed, i only paid for a new set.. no removal fee.. this new lady, ripped off my entire set, and then charged me $35, for removal, new set and french manicure. and she kept trying to weasel money out of me with other products. she wasn't a salesperson, she was greedy. and it looks awful. 3 days later, the top coat discolored and the acrylic started chipping around my cuticles. most i've ever paid, and worst product i've ever received there. there's also a lady there, appears to be the oldest, she's gotten much better, but she's a little rough, and the product needs improvement. i'm disappointed every time i end up with her. she's cut me numerous times. after 3 years, they didn't know my name, and hardly seemed to recognize that'd i'd ever been there before. they only seem to remember the middle aged women who come in spending their husbands money. chuck, the owner, and his wife (i believe) do an awesome job, and are for the most part friendly. you make an appt with them, and you won't be disappointed. i, however, have given up on this place, and am trying a new one today. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Avoid Holly's Nails like the Plague. I went to this place simply to have a shellac manicure soaked off. I normally go to Northville Nail Boutique but it's quite a bit farther for me so I thought for a soak off I would give Holly's a try since it's closer for me. Never again. Rather than putting acetone soaked cotton on each finger and then wrapping them in foil Holly's just shoved a bowl of acetone at me for me to curl up my hand and shove the whole hand into the bowl. This is horrible for the skin and highly ineffective for removing the shellac. Honestly, as soon as I saw that they use nail drills I should have run for the hills but for some reason I thought it would be ok. Nope!! After soaking for about 10 minutes (not long enough) the woman (who didn't speak ANY English) picked up my hand roughly and started using the drill to remove the shellac. She drilled so much that you could see the skin through what was left of my nail beds. The skin around my nails was cut and bleeding in a few spots from the drill as well. Then she did the WORST manicure I have ever gotten. The polish she put on didn't even last 24 hours before it was chipped so badly that I had to take it off. It took 6 months for the damaged nails to completely grow out before I could grow healthy nail again. I tell everyone I know to stay far, far away from this place!! I shouldn't have waited to put a review on Yelp. A friend of mine just told me she got the worst pedicure ever from Holly's the other day and I thought that if I had put my review out here maybe I could have saved her the trouble. Went in for a French pedicure and Shellac manicure pre-wedding. I went with my daughter so we could do this together as some bonding time. The pedicure came out nice, although my lady was as brief as possible and very short with the pumice stone and massage. Then for my nails she put this thick shellac on my nails, never clipped my cuticles, barely filed the nails with no wash. I saw my daughter getting different treatment and ask what is she getting done, she said same thing. $40 later is was not the same thing!!! I thought I was getting just a thin coat so my already nice nails would keep the polish longer. These thick things are aweful. I feel like I'm wearing gloves. I have no idea how she charged me and I know it was my fault for not insisting she tell me what she was doing and how much. I should've been more clear but really don't the difference because I normally don't get it done! Never again will they get my money! $129 later for 2 shellac and 2 French pedi, seems kinda high! read more

Avoid at all costs. I went there this morning for an eyebrow wax. Not only were the lady that did the wax very rude, she also waxed off almost all of my eyebrows! I didn't have cash on me to pay, and wanted to use my debit card. She was extremely rude about this as well, but eventually accepted my debit card. I have been going to Holly's nails for manicures for several years and have always been pleased. Recently I decided to get shellac to eliminate the chipping that inevitably comes from regular polish. My nails grow fast so I have them redone every 10 days. My most recent visit was on Friday, Oct 17th and it is the first time I have ever been disappointed....when I took a closer look at home I had several nails that had what appeared to be bubbles in them and a few were not shiny like the rest, which usually occurs if the product has not set properly. The salon was closed at the time so I called Saturday morning to discuss my situation. I told Chuck of my issues and also told him I was calling ahead so as not to be discussing my situation at the salon (because everyone can hear every thing you say) as a professional courtesy. He told me to come in and they would take care of me. Perfect, I thought!!! When I arrived and Chuck looked at my nails he said they didn't appear to be as bad as what he thought I explained on the phone....what???? He indicated there wasn't bubbles in the polish but it appeared to be dirt...again what??? I explained I didn't pay for dirt...Chuck took offense to that comment and was no longer pleasant in handling my problem. I no longer felt he wanted to fix the problem and send me along as a happy client. In a not so pleasant way he said they would fix them, but honestly I was really dissatisfied with the way he was now handling the situation. I called ahead as a professional courtesy so his other clients would not know I was dissatisfied and he would have the option of making an unhappy client happy again. I was no longer willing to deal with the negative attitude towards me so I decided to leave without having them fixed. I left very unhappy with the way the situation was handled and I will no longer give them my business. So off I go to find a salon that appreciates me as a client.......... read more
