Our couch had a few rips and were patched. Bathroom is large. I love the mirror. Breakfast bar seating ample and comfortable. Breakfast buffet you need a voucher, went down at 7a, it opens 6-10a. Food needed to be hotter it was warm. Staff are very friendly. I've been to lots of Holiday Inn Express hotels on the East Coast but few of the original Holiday Inns. There are a few Expresses in the area but this Holiday Inn had a restaurant and was less expensive than the other nearby hotels. Pros Price- The price for a room is the best in the vicinity (for IHG hotels) Spacious Clean Room with Comfortable Mattress and a Water View- As a Platinum IHG member I had my queen room upgraded to a Queen Suite at no charge. Most Expresses do not offer Queen suites. The room was a good size, was clean and had a little room that had a couch coffee table, and office table and chair. The two room windows had a lovely view of a creek just outside. Service- All the staff I interacted with at the front desk provided excellent service. Another IHG member perk (500 welcome points and a drink voucher) Free ample outdoor parking Cons Restaurant- breakfast- The breakfast is not included (unless you're a Diamond level member) and costs $12 per person. Knowing this I opted for the breakfast hotel package which decreased the cost per person. Both days, it consisted of powdered scrambled eggs, tater tots, bacon, pork sausage patties and pancakes. Also there was bread, yogurt, juice, coffee tea and hot cocoa. Dinner- The prices were reasonable for dinner and the service was excellent. My grilled chicken entree and Caesar side were OK as was my Moscow mule. Mixed Bag Decor Apparently this hotel was bought from another chain and is in the process of being renovated. The reception, lobby and restaurant area look brand new, light and airy, modern, spacious and welcoming. The old sections are a sea of brown and beige. The carpets are brand new and it looks they are slowly renovating the entire hotel. I'd give the hotel an overall 3.5 rating upgraded to 4 as they are renovating, working out the kinks and the price was very good. The restaurant was a 2 star experience and I recommend eating elsewhere. read more

The Holiday Inn we visited had a party event which took place in the conference room. It is located down stairs just as you enter the lobby, and turning left. It was an awesome size fitting lots of tables and plenty of room, along with keeping the whole area cleaned. It contains a divider which splits the room up into a smaller room (which includes two entrances to the big room, and one in the smaller room), but in our case, it was open to fill the entire space. Many people can fit with out a doubt, and it's a great advantage for get together, parties, and events. The hotel staff did a wonderful job preparing before the party, along with placing a new trash bag within 15 - 30 minutes. It looked pretty clean in the hotel lobby and also the hallways leading to rooms. For fun times, this is it! read more

Well, what an adventure here. We were here for 3 nights this month and it was something, but unfortunately this is the closest reasonably priced hotel to my mom's house so chances are we need to be back. Pros: Rooms were mostly clean, although ours had a huge crack in the shower like someone took a baseball bat to the tile. Front desk staff are nice folks. Lobby conveniently has a snack and drink bar. With beer and drinks (which you'll want after some of the shenanigans we experienced). Kids eat free if you buy a meal yourself. The breakfasts are decent portions and the servicewoman was kind to bring out the kids' food before everything else knowing how hungry children can be. Cons: Beware of loud events on the weekends!! The first night we stayed here, a VERY loud party (maybe a sweet sixteen or wedding? I heard tubas so you know they're serious) was going on until far past the posted quiet hours of 10PM, and wouldn't leave until the cops were called. In addition to the noise, the party took up the majority of parking spots and we ended up needing to park in a field on what looked like the property next door. But wait there's more! Later that first night, the fire alarm went off twice - once at 3 in the morning and then again at 6AM. If I didn't have small children with us, I'd probably just laugh about it and go back to sleep, but nope I had my kids with me and it scared the crap out of them. The first alarm went on for a while and there was confusion on whether it was correctly a fire or not - guests were all coming out of their rooms, roaming the hallways, and I got to find out who all my neighbors were, including the old guy across the hall who came out of his room pantsless and holding a shirt over his privates. The front desk's only explanation was that someone must have been smoking in their room against policy. After this sleepless night, we asked to be comp'd for this, and while they agreed, I have yet to see this refund show up and their management has been impossible to get a hold of. Rooms are poorly lit. Bring a flashlight to locate anything on the floor that isn't light colored. read more

A pretty basic hotel at a reasonable price. Parts of the hotel were updated; parts were rundown. Staff were not very friendly. Getting to the ice machine from my room required walking a hallway, taking the elevator down, walking across the lobby, taking an elevator up, then down a hallway. In the lobby were daily copies of The Epoch Times, a newspaper that focuses on conspiracy theories--very strange. read more

This Hotel was recently remodeled use to be a Best Western. We came to a Holiday Party in the big meeting room in the basement. The Event was catered from an outside restaurant but there were no facilities to warm the food or get a supply of ice on the lower level. Some of the event planners stayed at the hotel as they had a late night cleaning up after the party only to be woken up by a False Fire Alarm at 6:51 am set off by someone taking a hot shower and opening the bathroom door letting steam set off the alarm in the whole hotel causing everyone to evacuate the rooms without phone calls or loud speaker announcements from the hotel staff. We asked and weren't given a free room, discount on room rate or offer for late check out to make up for the hour we had to stand in the cold outside until we got an all clear! The only reason I'm giving a second star was because the rooms were clean, the carpets seemed new and new paint job with updated furniture. But due to lack of a free continental breakfast, no indoor pool or hot tubs and no discount or a free stay for a second night because of the false fire alarm so early in the morning , so wouldn't choose this hotel to stay in normally or could I recommend it to family and friends. read more

I have no idea what these bad reviews are about. This motel was very clean, very quiet with comfortable beds and the staff was friendly enough. It wasn't a "dump" or anything remotely like it which makes me think that those writing that kind of review really need a reality check. The thing about crappy reviews that have no merit is that they might lead someone to stay at a place twice as expensive. When in fact, this motel that got slammed is not only a lot cheaper, but is also just fine. The weekend rate was a little high but I stayed five nights which included the weekdays and the price came down quite a bit during that time. This hotel was clean and beds are nice but dear God there was a pot party going on all night next door to us. Doors opening a closing kept me up. They need to crack down on the pot smoking in rooms! Beds are mad hard, pillows are nice tho. Bathroom was old, but had all the fixings (hairdryer, clothes iron, soaps, lotions, high efficiency towels). Staff were super pleasant and definitely doing a great job, the best they can with what they're given. The bar was taken up by a wedding part and was super loud but the rooms stayed mostly quiet, except for the side by side neighbor noise. Room was dark with curtains pulled but it also felt impossible to close them together all the way. Room smelled like wet dog, probably because the ventilation is so bad that they have a highlighted notice to guests that you need to keep the bathroom door closed before and after showers as to not set off the fire alarms. --speaking of fire alarms, during my stay, the alarms went off at 4am. As all the guests exit and stand waiting 5-10mins in the parking lot, two fire trucks come up. It was a false alarm, everyone back to your rooms, someone was just smoking in their room. Go back to sleep. 5am the alarms go off again, none of us know whether we should leave again or not, we all go back out to the parking lot. 10mins pass and a fire truck rolls up, 5mins more, two police cars roll up. Walk back through the lobby, see the police outside a room down the hall. lady says 'someone was smoking weed in their room and are refusing to stop or leave.' go back to sleep awake to the sound of the room service next door. room clock was broken. I missed breakfast. Overall meh experience. But then, the price was like 50% more expensive than other hotel rates in that area at the time. Pay for the location, not the room I guess. Bet you could fit like 4 adults in the single king, sofa bed room. read more

I've stayed here before and the quality has definitely gone down. The beds were fine but the bathrooms needs updating or at least some basic repairs. The shower stall had the grout falling out and dark spots (mold?). The faucet in the shower and sink were both loose. I mentioned it the the desk person and he didn't really seem to care. The Kcups they had in the room had holes in the top. Definitely the cleaning people never checked them and went we went to the lobby the first morning they were out of coffee there and the same desk person didn't care. Second day we had breakfast in their restaurant. Reasonably priced but mediocre to say the least. Not sure if I will stay here again when we're working in the Poughkeepsie area. read more

When we drove up and saw the outside we were worried. But this hotel has been great. The inside is modern and clean. The rooms were nice, with comfortable beds. We had a quiet room in the back and slept well. The staff was good. This was the least expensive 3-star hotel around. For the money it's a fantastic choice. This hotel seems like it was recently renovated but the work was done frugally. I had a leaky toilet that kept me up all night. Curtains in the room are ripped. Card reader on the outside back door doesn't work. Door to my room is warped and has a gap on bottom. Front desk will charge you $3 for a bottle of water so you are better off going to the gas station next door. There's no restaurants or shops nearby. Just a few things for manager / owner to consider. This could be a much better hotel, just needs to be tweaked a bit. I'd still recommend staying here if you have no better options. read more

I'm so insulted and disgusted by this place. They charged me $407 for one night in a standard room, and when I went downstairs with my daughter to get coffee (no complimentary coffee in the lobby, FYI), the front desk told me to go back into the breakfast area to get some coffee there. So I did that, and saw they had other breakfast items, so we put some things in a to-go container. As we are walking toward the stairs (the evelvators were broken), a chef ran out after me in the lobby saying very loudly: do you have a breakfast card? And honestly, I didn't know. I had a hotel key. I said I'd check in my room. He then yells very loudly, "Well if you don't then it's $12." So I yelled back to the desk: "OK, then bill me $12." I don't even care about the $12. It's the way they completely insulted me, a paying customer, like that in their lobby. I will never stay here and just so you know: it is definitely not even worth the $407 they charged. I'm an IHG member but am thinking of canceling and just Boycotting Holiday Inn from now on. You should, too. read more

AWFUL. Was a last minute trip and everything else was booked, so we thought we would suck it up and give it a shot. DONT. EVER. STAY. HERE. we left 30 minutes after we walked in and decided to stay at a different hotel where we had family staying to sleep on the floor rather than stay in this horrid place. Room reeked of smoke even though we had a smoke free room. Walls are PAPER. THIN. could hear our neighbor having a full on conversation with someone on the phone. Bed had a pee stain and pubic hair on it. When we went to the front desk to say that we were leaving the guy didn't even bat an eyelash ( they just get that a lot) DISGUSTING PLACE STAY FAR AWAY!! P. The lobby area is pristine, and we found the location to be a perfect spot between the CIA and eating, shopping, etc. The rooms were clean and nicely outfitted with good pillows and sheets. The beds are pretty seriously soft which doesn't work for me, but I do think it's a good mattress. The bathroom is a whole other story. There was pretty funky patching happening on walls and water stains on the ceiling. It is tiny, so don't plan on spreading out your toiletries. There is no place for extra towels. I like the large bottles of soaps, etc, but there was no soap dish for the bar soap on the bathroom counter. Finally, if you order "room service", you have to go down to the bar to pick it up which doesn't seem like something you can call room service. All in all, it's a pretty mixed bag. read more

I'd give it zero stars if I could. DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I'll try to keep it as brief as I can. I was put up in this hotel for three weeks for work and thank the lord I did not pay out of pocket for the sh*t hole of a place they call a hotel. First of all, the place is half under construction, like you go into stairwells and you can tell the place isn't finished completely, and the pool is in complete disarray, despite the website saying there was one. The place is not kept up well and housekeeping would be extremely inconsistent in servicing the rooms, if they would even come at all, it was three weeks I was dealing with them. It gets worse, I was woken up by the fire alarm THREE SEPARATE TIMES my entire stay, with a "sorry for the inconvenience" from the front desk. Absolutely not acceptable. There was also water leaking from the ceiling into the hallway outside my door, and a friend of mine had to be relocated in the hotel because WATER WAS LEAKING FROM THE CEILING ON TO HER BED. And here's the last kicker, my roommate who I split rent with and work on this job with had his brand new IPAD PRO STOLEN OUT OF HIS ROOM within the first week of our stay. I have frequented over no joke 50 hotels at least in my lifetime and never have I been left with such a sour taste in my mouth. It was such a relief to go sleep in my own bed. We have friends & family here....& we will be staying here from now on. Terrible experience. Me and my partner have stayed to many hotels and it's my first time I was disappointed with the stay and management. When we got to our room, We were trying to use the tv which was providing us to connect our phones with it. It didn't work. I called the front office and a front desk host came to our room to fix it. He couldn't. He said I'll go find help and I will return or call. The time went by and NOTHING. We went to the front desk. I asked him "did you figure it out" he said "no".. and then the lady manager came up to us with a piece of paper and a number to call a technical support the hotel was using so they can tell me step by step to fix the issue on tv. We got annoyed because we were wasting my time and it was not our job to do that. Anyway, I called the number and a nice person was trying to help me telling me "pull out those wires behind the tv and still didn't work. I was pissed off because I was actually doing the technician at the hotel I was paying a lot to of money to stay. We asked the manager to return our money so we can leave because she was rude, she never apologized for wasting 2 hours of our lives fixing the tv which was never fixed. She said at the end "I don't have to have that available" she should have told us that in the beginning before all this mess. But she didn't. She refused to do the refund so we can leave. She was laughing at us when we were expressing our frustration. Finally, she said I can move you to another room and see if it works. We said ok and the tv still didn't work properly. I said never mind I don't want to lose the money I'll take it. We went back to the second room they assigned us which was connected to another room. The person next door was snoring so loud that we could hear him with the tv on. Honestly I didn't want to call the front desk again but we couldn't tolerate it. I called and she said "I will move you to your previous room" I said ok cause we had enough.. We just wanted to relax and forget about this terrible evening and waste of our time. We went to the previous room and it was quite thank god. When we laid down, the cover, pillows and sheets were full of hair. Disgusting. I was like omg what else would happen to me tonight? We were cleaning them so we can sleep because We knew the manager will be rude again. In the morning at 10am (checkout is at 11am) out of a sudden the housekeeper open our door but we had the lock so it didn't open too much. I opened the door and she said "are you checking out?" I said yes at 11. And she just went to another room all frustrated and busy. We will not go back. The lady manager was rude, unprofessional with an attitude. This hotel was renovated very slowly and now I know why. You have to work hard to cover up mold issues. If you combine this with no heat in the common areas, it will come back. The manager has a horrible attitude as well. The food was some of the worst I have ever had in my life. I do not recommend anyone coming here. Go across the street to the Hyatt instead. I stayed here for a work convention and drove back to absolutely no parking spots on a Saturday night due to a VERY loud wedding going on in their event space. When I asked the front desk where I should park, the manager escorted me to a parking lot 1 MILE away. Another family, with a husband who had Parkinson's disease was not able to find a handicapped spot and the manager DISMISSED her and said the wedding guests who were not staying at the hotel were paying customers. He also LAUGHED at me because I had mentioned I was an event planner and that they should have had a valet service. After parking 1 mile away and walking in the cold, I had came back to see him enjoying a beer at the bar ON THE JOB. Also, the "chef" discriminated my boyfriend and I because we have tattoos that we were not going to pay for the $10 breakfast. The front desk NEVER informed us that we needed a breakfast coupon therefore he made us extremely uncomfortable in front a room of guests. On top of all of this, the drug attics in the room next to us we're death rattling at 1am and we were able to hear them through the very thin walls. Do not stay at this hotel in this area. read more
