PRO: Clean and neat, very convenient to Vassar, friendly service, decent breakfast spread. CON: Furniture has obvious repairs, noisy, TV reception fair, WiFi was extremely flaky even in the "business place" room I would visit again, but would look first for someplace better.

The only reason why I'm giving them a 3 and not anything higher is because it's good quality for the amount paid, but not the best hotel I've been to by far. The receptionist was kind, but quiet. She informed us where all the accommodations where (breakfast, pool, etc) The room itself is nice! I didn't see any pictures of the most expensive room here, but from the size of all the others I'd say it's well worth paying extra. The only three complaints I had about this place was 1) there was a ants in the bathroom when we arrived (not too many to kill myself) 2) the bathroom is kind of small, but it's really not that big of a deal. 3) there's a generator sound that isn't too bothersome for me but it may be for others. Overall I'd say it's a good area, didn't feel unsafe from my car to the room and there's plenty of places to go around to. (Burger Fi was great!) if you're looking for a relatively affordable room go here. I'd definitely suggest the upgraded room though.

We understood there was issues with the air conditioning and hot water, but Sharon and George did everything in their power to try to make everything else in our stay as wonderful as possible. They made sure staff accommodated us with portable air conditioners and fans for not only us but also the other guests who came and stayed overnight for our big day. They had us situated in their best suites possible to get ready in the morning and Sharon would periodically check in on us and ask if there's anything else she can possibly do. They also made sure that after our wedding ended and we all came back to the hotel for a little after party that they had the appropriate amount of bar staff and drinks supplied for us and our guests as we enjoyed watching the Knicks win a championship. What started out as unfortunate wound up turning out to be the best day of our lives. Thank you to the staff at Doubletree for helping us turn a not so good situation into a weekend I'll never forget for all the best reasons.

She was able to tell us that they had open rooms, but she was unable to book it because it was after midnight and suggested we call the 800 number. When we called customer service we were put on hold so they could call the front desk to see if they had rooms. We were the only people in the lobby and could hear her talking to customer service telling them that we were there. I was also told by the woman on the phone that they were holding the night audit for us to be able to book a room. I'm not sure what that has to do with our reservation or why that should be my concern when I am exhausted from driving. After paying almost triple and finally heading to our room, we were able to finally go to sleep. The room itself was not horrible, but it's very musty smelling and hard to really see out because the windows are so gross. When we called room service this morning, there was no answer. When I called the café, we were told that on the weekends they don't have room service even though the website says they offer it. We were then told to file a complaint so corporate would maybe realize that they need to take it off the website. The gentleman also told us that they don't like to do room service and do not usually do it because they have many female employees and they don't feel comfortable going to the rooms. He said if he's not busy himself, he will go instead. This is 100% not a customer service oriented hotel.

If you've never stayed at a Home2Suites by Hilton, they are one of my favorite of Hilton's brands. The rooms are always well appointed and spacious and the interiors have a modern feel. For my stay, I stayed in a king suite, which includes a nice sitting area, mobile desk, large screen TV, kitchenette (with refrigerator, dishes, dishwasher, sink, and microwave), and convenient closet for hanging clothing items and dresser for folded items. The staff here work hard to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, including texting a few times to check in throughout to ensure you're enjoying your stay. Like most Hilton's, they have a snack shop in the lobby area with a self serve check out (where you can charge it to your room or to your card). I appreciate this so I can get a little something to eat on days where I'm spending a lot of time in the hotel working. The parking lot is well lit and felt safe. I was able to park in front under lights on both occasions that I stayed here. Get to it!

The lobby is beautiful, well lit with both natural and artificial light and spacious. We were greeted by a friendly staff member at the front desk. There is ample parking in a large parking lot. We did not have to pay for parking, although I did read a review by a Yelp reviewer that they paid for parking. My wife and I were in the area to visit my parent's grave sites and one of my sisters in nearby Millbrook, N.Y. The hotel has two levels with an elevator. The room we stayed in was spacious with a separate room with two beds, large dresser and a TV with a sliding glass door leading out to a large courtyard. The main living area had a chair, small sofa, desk, a TV and a dresser with a small refrigerator also with a sliding glass door leading out to the courtyard The courtyard was large with tables and lounge chairs to relax outside The room was clean with lots of natural daylight with newer carpeting and did not smell musty like some hotel rooms can. The room and bathroom were both well maintained. In the lobby is a restaurant called The Bistro. There is a bar serving mixed drinks and beer. The restaurant serves both breakfast (a la carte) featuring Starbucks coffee and dinner. Meals are not included with stays. There are numerous tables available to eat at. There is also a nice lounging area in the front lobby with a TV and simulated fireplace. For added convenience, there is a small desk with a computer and printer if needed. The hotel has a very nice exercise room with several treadmills and weight lifting machines. This location is located on busy Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. with many nearby restaurants and stores as well as the Galleria Mall. The hotel is a very short drive from the world renowned Culinary Institute of America. It is known for teaching some of the world's best chefs. The Institute offers tours and an opportunity to eat at their restaurant. If you're interested in history, you can visit both the FDR and Vanderbilt museums which is about a thirty drive from the hotel. My one peev with the hotel is that there is only one ice making machine on each level. Which means that you would have to walk across the entire hotel if the room is on the opposite end. I easily recommend staying at ths hotel.

I asked about morning coffee and said our film crew (myself included) needs to check out and leave for work at 5:30am, and she put in a request to have the coffee ready for us earlier than normal hours. And sure enough it was there the next morning! Yay! I wish every hotel experience was this nice. Give that woman a raise! Thank you The woman working at The Bistro that night was awesome as well !!

I should have known something was wrong, but I was assure by the lady in the office that the room was painted, clean and there was also clean sheets on the bed.
