3.7/5 stars Lots of fresh sashimi, crab, clams, shrimp, and crawfish. If you're a fan of buffets for their variety and love to leave satisfied and full, I'd really recommend Hokkaido. This is an old classic asian buffet. I was honestly very impressed with the selection of seafood and its quality. The items were replaced often when running low and mostly tasted pretty fresh. It feels easy to get your "money's worth" here. This restaurant has been through a lot of change throughout the years, sometimes rising and falling, but as of right now I am very impressed with the reasonable price tag and efforts on their part to leave the customer feeling happy. This place has changed for the better (despite not having a working chocolate fountain anymore). The waitresses were all very attentive and capable as well! Don't expect THE highest grade seafood and appetizers here, but appreciate the fun of getting anything you want as much as you want without feeling queasy or cheated after! I think this is the benefit of any good buffet. Many buffets suffer from extremely low-grade foods and rely on terrible, cheap tactics to get the customer to fill up on awful food. THIS PLACE DOES NOT DO THIS, which is a huge improvement from its past and its competitors. Give this place a chance!!!!

There's something for everyone at Hokkaido Seafood Buffet. Our group of four was seated in a booth, and we each visited the buffet 2-3 times to try different items, not omitting dessert (you have to save room for dessert!). If you want the king crab legs, you might have to wait for the chef to bring out a new batch and outmaneuver the other customers. It's not fine dining, but it's a fun experience, especially if you're willing to be adventurous.

Drove by Hokkaido many times visiting daughter. Decided to try them this trip. For $22.99 I think it's very good! I got Sashimi, lobster claws, jumbo clams, stone crabs, snow crabs, hibachi, plus more. I wanted to try other dishes but I was full

Price for one charged me 25.67 for 3 items at an all you can eat buffet or cold food worst place ever will never recommend or come back

I was fairly happy with this buffet. It's been years since I was here last. I came at a weird time between lunch in dinner after work on a Saturday at 3pm. The majority of the food was filled and staff was keeping up with replacements. The items on the far right seemed to be older and not as hot or fresh. Some was cold. Everything else I had was decent. Habatchi grill is always worth getting and cooked right in front of you. There was a good amount of different sushi to choose from as well. I wasn't sure what my bill would be. It was 3:35 when I finished and know the price changes at 3:30 but got there at 3. They must have a grace period as the time was about 15 mins behind on the bill and still got brunch price. There is the notice outside and on each table about not wasting food or charging more for.

I went for lunch on a Saturday and I was disappointed. The food wasn't fresh. Although there are many options, most of the food is not good. The quality was below average and most foods tasted old. I usually enjoy buffet food but I was ready to leave early this time. They also removed the bananas and chocolate fountain which was one of the interesting things they had. The quality of food kept getting worse every time I go. The only thing I enjoyed was the shrimp. The rest was old or didn't taste good. I don't think I'll be going back again. I do NOT recommend.

Huge and mediocre to poor Asian fusion buffet. Stick to the Mongolian barbecue that is freshly cooked if you want a happy gut later.

Meaning you can go to any location in the country and expect the same ambiance, menu offerings, etc. I am a-ok with that because it's always been a lovely experience. It's got old-school, romantic decor vibes. Quite often you can expect live music (pianist, jazz, and so on). The service is exceptional. The food is amazing. Everything is cooked to perfection. Seasoned perfectly and if I am being honest, I never leave any food behind on my plate. They have a nice selection of drinks including mocktails. In a world of big-box, they stand out.

I made a reservation for two about a month in advance for a birthday dinner and chose the lounge over the dining room based on reviews about the different vibes. Since we had an early reservation, they were also able to accommodate our request to sit at the bar. We shared the spaetzle and fries with house-made ketchup. I ordered the grilled branzino and appreciated the instructions on how to tackle a whole fish. The dulse butter was interesting but a little too overpowering for me, and the vegetable side was a bit underwhelming. My husband enjoyed his roast half chicken and gave it good marks. We also loved the house cream soda and would recommend it for anyone looking for a nonalcoholic drink. Overall, a great birthday night out and a fun chance to expand our palates.

It's definitely a special place in Pittsburgh and they do take their menu and dishes very seriously. However, the flavor palette that they chose to showcase is not necessarily my preference. The experience is definitely elevated with a very professional and attentive wait staff. The decor in the longe is definitely a positive feature of this restaurant. Nestled throughout the nooks and crannies of the lounge are an interesting array of Nordic themed things to admire. I ordered the chicken for my entree and it was definitely not boring. It had a thick and flavorful glaze all over it and they incorporated lingonberry. Lingonberry is a theme throughout the menu. I also enjoyed a refreshing lingonberry mocktail to add another element of that flavor. Overall, a very nice restaurant in Pittsburgh worthy of a night out.

We came on a Tuesday, there weren't many people in the dining area but there were tons of pickup orders. It was quiet, the atmosphere was very chill, and our waitress (I apologize, I don't believe I remember her name) was very attentive and sweet! We ended up getting the combo boil, we got snow crab, pork sausage, crawfish, and shrimp. I had never had crawfish before so I was very curious. Turns out, I don't like them. But that's just one man's opinion! Nothing to do with the prep itself, just not my style! Everything else was phenomenal though! The crab was juicy and the Cajun spices made it really pop! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a special meal, especially if you're a seafood fan! The price after having the combo and one drink each was about $60, or $30 per person. Wow! I had seen this place many times on social media and expected it to be super expensive but it wasn't! If I lived closer I'd be here all the time! If you're on the fence, let me push you over it. Get some seafood boil!

The #2 "3 in one maxed noodles" under DRY NOODLE is "most popular," he said, and not very spicy - comprising of #s 1, 3, $ 4 on the dry noodle menu. They're flexible on your preferred spicy level. And #6 on the SOUP NOODLE menu is very popular & not spicy - braised pork rib noodles. Under SPICY NOODLE IN STONE POT - our server recommended #1 spicy beef soup with rice noodle in stone pot. For Appetizers - they were out of the cold skin noodles with peanut butter, but our server also recommended wonton (dumplings) in chili oil. OUR ORDER & ASSESSMENT: Appetizer - the wonton noodles are so good - so silky - and the semi-spicy sauce was really unique. Def would reorder that. Me: the 3 in one noodles - and this gigantic bowl was brimming with unique, flavorful ingredients that our server said I was to stir together. Baby bok choy, tomato chunks, slivered carrot, homemade wide noodles, small pieces of braised pork, scrambled egg, chili powder (not very spicy at all), and slivered scallions ---- a bowl of Chinese comfort food cooked to perfection. Total 5 star dish. Hubs: Spicy beef soup with rice noodle --- a *screaming hot* (temperature- not spice) stone pot filled to the brim with thin rice noodles (look like spaghetti), baby bok choy, and a zesty broth with a fairly good spicy kick. My hubs was just MEH on this dish. The broth - IMHO - just didn't have much depth of flavor. Sis-in-law: spicy max vegetable with rice noodles. Again - the wildly hot stone pot was brimming with homemade rice noodles, silky tofu, but there really weren't many veggies. Bok choy was about it. Odd, we thought. Again - the broth was just ok. All in all, it was a good, reasonably-priced lunch. I will DEF be back!
