Today was/is the Grand Opening, so I decided to try it out for lunch. This is the second AYCE sushi place to open in the area recently. I liked the other one (Kujira), but I think I liked this one better. The price is about $5 cheaper than the other one, and they don't have robot servers, but I think this one was better because you can order smaller portions. Taste-wise, they were both pretty similar. Some things I liked better here, some things I liked better at Kujira. Like Kujira, don't order too much, or they will charge you for food not eaten. Right now it is BYOB. Not sure if they are waiting for a liquor license or not. After eating, they also let me play the Japanese drum on display ... FUN!!! P.S. "Kan Pai" literally means "Cheers" ... Cheers!!!!

Little Tokyo is a popular neighborhood restaurant in Mount Lebanon. We have never tried it before…read morebecause I thought that their focus was almost exclusively sushi. I was wrong. The menu has many selections that will appeal to adults and children . I tried the steak filet miso soup and a side of fried rice, each was fantastic. My wife, ordered BBQ shrimp which was also excellent. I tried the house sake. I haven't drunk saki in many many years, but it was great and it complimented the meal. The restaurant owner is there every day very friendly and makes sure that everything runs smoothly. Staff are friendly and efficient and the restaurant is impeccably clean with an upscale city ambience . 5 stars !

Located near my hotel, I needed some sushi…read more Friendly, locally owned restaurant with great service. Lots of seating, the restaurants was warm on a cold night and although busy it wasn't very loud. Started with some oolong tea and edamame followed by three rolls which was way more than I could eat but I wanted the variety. The eel was tender and flavorful but the star was the first date roll which was covered in spicy tuna. The Philly roll was good but I probably didn't need it but sometimes you just want the taste. The wasabi was not a hot as I expected. I used much larger portions to get the expected result. Nothing like a good sinus burn. Otherwise everything was great. The staff kept close tabs on what I needed and how things were tasting without being obnoxious. Highly recommend.

Take out only - call or email in advance…read more The nigiri combo was good especially the yellow tail. Tuna was lean. The rice was nicely seasoned and was a bit larger than most. The sushi burrito was dense with ingredients and a fun spin on traditional items. Will certainly be back.

This sushi place just opened, and now I'm in lunch heaven! The restaurant used to be a pizza place,…read moreand from the outside it kind of looks like a hole in the wall... but once you're past that, everything else about this is a positive. Staff is friendly, I asked if the sushi rice was seasoned and the man at the counter told me THE PH FACTOR of the seasoning he uses! He used to work for a Japanese style restaurant , but proudly stated that he likes his rice better. That kind of passion was a very good sign... and the prices on the menu looked good (Apple Pay and other contactless payments accepted), so I ordered what I felt would be most representative of their offerings, the Poke bowl (Po-Keh). Nice bite sized pieces of fish (both tuna & salmon! Roe), the rice has a nice balance of seasoning (apparently he measures the pH even, it's a bit milder than I make it), some pieces of pineapple, Edamame beans, sesame seeds, cucumber over a bed of mixed spring green salad with a ginger dressing. Seriously so good, generous portion that was too much for me to finish before my lunch break was up. They're right across the street from me, and SO much better than Atarashi Sushi (sorry, but I way prefer USC Sushi's style here), and I can't wait to try out their tempura and other goodies!
