Nice staff! Good portions! Boba drinks too! I never had poke with pineapple before but I actually like it! The Korean Spare there is the bomb! I would come back just for that! Free wifi! Open everyday except Sunday! I like the spicy tuna, seaweed salad, and that rib!!! So good!!!!! Boba smoothie is cold and sweet and great for a refreshing drink! The staff is amazingly kind and generous! I recommend this place just for that! I like this place! Close to UTD next to the Fuzzy's Taco shop. read more

Was craving poki, and I came across this place. I got brown rice, seaweed salad, edamame, spicy tuna, salmon, spicy braised rib, and other mix-ins. It was so delicious! It's such a healthy alternative compared to fast food, and you don't feel so heavy or lethargic afterwards. The owners are so friendly and sweet! I would definitely come back!! read more

Affordable, tasty poke that can be in a bowl or a burrito. All the toppings and sauces are what really win me over. Granted its customized, but its almost as if I cant put it down while eating. The structure of the sushirito was sturdy, and didn't fall apart. There were a few spots where the sushi paper was a little chewy, but it was forgivable. The meat is not the best quality, but considering the price and flavor, it stands out more than somewhere like Uni Sushi. Either way, check it out. read more

Went here at 3 in afternoon and it was completely dead, which was fine with me because that meant no wait. The restaurant is small and very clean but there's nothing really special about it. I got a mini poke bowl and there are a decent but not extensive amount of add ins. The fish in my opinion was okay quality; wasn't awful but I've definitely had better. In addition, I felt like a very small amount of fish was added to my bowl which disappointed me. I will say the location of this restaurant is good considering it's right by UTD. But if you're willing to drive 15-20 min for better options and quality ingredients, I suggest Below 40 in Plano. read more

Short, sweet and to the point... You must check out this place. Think Chipotle, Chiloso or Free-birds but with Poke. Fresh tuna, salmon, shrimp as well as chicken and braised ribs. The food is fresh, the options are plentiful and I now have a new favorite place. I honestly had a flash back of my time in Hawaii while eating here. Long story short you should definitely try this place, you will not be disappointed. read more

Poke here is actually good than the ones I tried. They are currently doing 50% for grand opening so that's a plus! Staff are very friendly! I wanted to try the Korean braised rib but they ran out of that. My poke bowl was very simple: white rice w/ salmon, seaweed salad, crabmeat, cucumbers, onions, spicy sauce & drizzle of spicy mayo on top. I'll be back for my poke cravings!!! read more

Three and a half stars. I've never done the poke bowl thing before, so my first visit here was confusing lol. Service is friendly, the cost-to-portion ratio is perfect for your typical college kid. Options for add-ins were a little limited, but nice. This place gives me the family-owned vibe. Quiet, spacious, intimate. It would be a great place to study if you wanted to get out of the house but stay away from coffee shops with loud talkers. I would come by again if I ever had the craving. :D read more

Decided to try somewhere new on my way to campus. This place is so good! Plenty of people inside but the line wasn't too long. Fish was fresh. Going to make this a regular spot. read more

I find their food to be very comforting especially if you're craving some raw fish! This was my second poke to ever try and it was pretty good. I got the large thinking that it still may not be enough for a girl who eats a lot like me, but was surprised to find that their portions are absolutely decent for the price! Large poke comes with 4 scoops of your choice of protein (salmon, spicy tuna, tuna, and shrimp), three scoops of rice, and some toppings of your choice. I got each scoops of their choices of meat and they all tasted fresh. I thought the shrimp would be raw since that is the nature of poke but was surprised to find that it's actually cooked through. The guy who worked there were very informative and asked if I would like the poke spicy or mild and I said spicy. The spicy does not taste spicy at all so I was confused about that, but the meat went along nicely with whatever sauce they used to mix it up with (probably some sesame oil with other things). I opted for white rice rather than brown, and got seaweed salad, ginger, and crab salad for toppings.  The white rice was a little stickier than I preferred but I was pleased to find out that it is actually slightly seasoned which made it very tasty. The ginger was one of those that are sweet and weak flavored. I liked their seaweed salad but found their crab salad to be a little cheap-tasting, but it wasn't too bad. Overall I was very pleased wth the service, quality, and portion of the food and would definitely be back again. They offer 10% discount to any UTD students, staff, seniors, and military veterans with a proof of ID! They also have punch cards so make sure to grab one! I will definitely be back when I am craving some raw fish with steaming rice with side toppings. Great comfort food on the go. Way better and cheaper than still feeling hungry after eating small rolls of expensive sushi and similar in a sense. read more

I just discovered this place around a month ago and have been back at least once a week since. Its down the street from my house so its quick, easy, convenient, and at least to me lighter eating. Its not too expensive either. As others have stated, basically deconstructed sushi food wise but they did mix it up have braised ribs as a meat option. The mom and son (assuming they are family, might be wrong) that run this place are great on the service side of things. The food is great and seems fresh every time I have ate here. If nothing changes I will be a regular for awhile here. read more

This place will definitely be on my "crave list". You basically build your own pokey ball from various choices. They're very helpful and will let you try something before or you put it on your dish. I love Poke! It's fast, healthy, and affordable. With that being said, I'm so glad that this new poke shop opened up near my campus. Here's my take below. The service is fast, the choices are very simple and clean. The menu is simple to build your custom poke bow. The fish is fresh and well seasoned, the ratio between rice and fish is right on. I must come back and try the poke burrito that looks simply delicious. Overall: It's fresh and tastes super yummy. It's cheaper than sushi and doesn't leave you feeling gross like other fast foods. It's close to school. Case closed. read more

Ive had the chance to stop by Dallas TX this week on a quick business stop and was craving some poke since ive eaten at poke shops here and there in so cal. I normally do not reivew places that often, but Hoki Poki really did a fantastic job in service and in quality of taste. Its very customizable from start to finish in ordering and I would have to say that the fish is pretty darn fresh and tasty considering the fact that TX is no where near the sea. I have to also give thumbs up for the sauce because it creates a good balance between the fish and the veggies in the bowl. And thank you Yelp for helping me find a gem like this in TX. read more

It's a very small restaurant and very casual! The menu and set up is very easy to read and I guess order from lol. hmm i would say that the amount of food u get is pretty good for the price!!! i think u get 10% off if u are a utd student :~) if u are not sensitive to raw fish like me it is a good place to get a "big" meal if u are on a low budget i gave it four stars bc i had a weird tummy ache after eating but i still enjoyed it haha fish tastes good and there are healthy options too!! read more

Great food (great value, really fast, really fresh and healthy) and awesome customer service. My fiancé and I each got the large box which comes with miso. While I think they have possibly the tastiest poke bowl in the area, I am knocking two stars off for the fact that they oftentimes close early. I have gone there on multiple occasions on a Friday night before their close time, one time as early as 8:35 to find that they were already closed. Can you please just stay open till you say you are open till. read more

We love the food! Place is very clean. Portion is just right. A suggestion for the Owner: it maybe good to use bowls or containers for dining in instead using to go boxes instead. This will make those who dine in have a better fill for the place. The space outside the restaurant is pretty run down but the insides are nice and clean. read more

I can't believe how good it is. I love seafood. This place give me all fresh and delicious seafood that served with rice and veggies. Their bowl is bigger enough for two meals if you don't eat much. I ordered one for lunch and i eat whatever left over at night. One of my favorite bowl is salmon with veggies and white rice. Oh my gosh, I can't forget its taste until now. You should try and you will never upset. I promise 100% authentic food and healthy if you care about your health, then this is the place to go for. I visited this place more than 5 times and liked it a lot. So I am a regular now. I prefer the fish bowls and the meats are very fresh. Also the taste is very good. Conveniently located on my way to work. I got a white rice poke with salmon, tuna, and shrimp as my proteins, seaweed and crabmeat as my sides. I topped it off with spicy mayo, cilantro, furikake, scallions, carrots, onions, mango, chili pepper sauce, fish eggs, and garlic sauce. This is really something fresh and new which is a good thing. Who would've thought that you'd find such quality poke bowl in Dallas of all places!? Spot on taste, spot on portion, and price is super affordable! a poke bowl of such quality and portion would be at close to double the price in CA. Fish is fresh. A sign here reads that they receive fresh fish daily. I also like the fact that they have variety of sauces. I personally liked their garlic sauce. Oddly they also sell korean braised ribs on the side. But the tender meat just fell off the bone and the spicy sauce was very flavorful. I'm gonna have to come back and try their sushi burrito!?! read more
