I am disappointed with their policy. I needed a remote replacement. I was advised I would have to…read morepay over $400.00 for a full inspection then the price of the remote. I am a repeat customer and was told there was nothing else that could be offered to me. I Paid for a full inspection 2023 or 2024 and the year before had an inspection as well. I was told it's not needed every year unless there are problems. But their policy now is of such if they touch my insert, even removing the glass to hit a reset button for the remote they would have to do a full inspection. So total Cost would be close to $600.00 when all that is needed is a remote. I did find a company to Come and handle the remote only but I would have rather stayed with Fireplace Tech. Disappointed

I thought I had an appointment confirmed but then I was told because I didn't call someone back it was cancelled..then they showed up?? The guys were nice. Eli explained what they were doing. They were quick and efficient and they left everything clean. They did a great job. They explained what they did and what they saw that might need work And at that point, they walked out the door with a five star review. Here's where it gets dicey. When they came, my flue was open. Being widowed I've learned to make fires but I have never opened or shut the flue. It was open when they got there and when they left the last thing they said was "OK now you can make a fire". But they didn't tell me that they had shut the flue or damper. I didn't know it was a thing until I made a fire and my house filled up with smoke. Opening all the doors and windows didn't work. The fire alarm kept going off. I couldn't make it stop. I shut the glass on the fireplace. Ended up having to call the fire department. I had to get my cats and throw them out in the rain and wait outside. The fire dept confirmed the flue was closed. They opened it and they brought in big fans to air the smoke out of my house. It's still smell smoky. The worst thing is this was super traumatic for me. I didn't know why the house was smoky I didn't know what to do. I didn't have my husband or anyone to help and I was panicked. It was a really horrible experience except for the hot firefighters lol. Based on that they would get zero stars so I gave them 2

Their message advises that they will get back to me in 1 to 2 days with a 5-week appointment time. I never received a call back. I called again about 4 days later and left another message with the same result, no call back. I called again this week and left another message. Now their appointment time is 7 weeks out. It's been more than 3 days and I still have not received a call back. I understand people can be busy, but don't say in your message you'll respond in 1 to 2 days when that is far from true. You obviously had time to change your message from 5 to 7 weeks appointment time, why not call back potential customers. Looking at other reviews it seems like this is a trend. If I can't even get a simple call back, what makes me think they'll come back out if something goes wrong with their work. Definitely going somewhere else!

Bill worked with me to design a unique fireplace that would best suit our needs and modern style. He then came out again to meet with our contractor to best plan the order of the tiling, that the contractor was installing, and the installation of the fireplace. Once the fireplace came in from the manufacturer (it took 6-8 weeks, it's custom) Bill came out to install it. To my surprise he showed up with a wrapped up arm in a sling! He was clearly not feeling well and explained that he just had shoulder surgery two days prior! Instead of staying bed as the doctor ordered, he came, with another installer, to make sure our fireplace was installed perfectly. What a pro. Needless-to-say, we are thrilled with the design, functionality and quality of our new fireplace.

I am deeply disappointed in the quality of what I purchased and the store's inability to ensure I get everythingI paid for. Update 12/6/24: They ordered furniture covers from a different place now so that I can get covers sooner. Have been promised delivery in 5-7 business days. Fingers crossed. Update 12/26/24: I got the new covers in that timeframe. They work well and the store called me to make sure they arrived and that I am satisfied with them. This follow up was a nice touch.

Sam was great to speak with and he answered all of my questions and gave me what I thought was a reasonable quote (given all the increased taxes and tariffs due to the Trump administration ripping off Americans!!) and scheduled time for them to come and install a new gas insert. The installers were quick and professional and did a good job installing the new gas insert, everything looks great and the fire is warm. :)
