Pure Sleeze! Bait and Switch On Feb 7th Nicole Mooney accepted my offer of $80K for a BMW X5 PHEW, all taxes, fees, "out the door". See her email and her purchase order. I signed, and returned the purchase order which included $500 for registration. On Feb 11th, she emails and says "Our Registration Team got back to me" and she has increased the price by $1,782. This is after I had signed the purchase contract. Another sleeze move...You know how the dealers want a finance person to "Meet with You" so they can pressure you into accepting high margin add-ons? In the old days, it was rust-proofing that actually voided the manufacture's warranty? She would not send me the Closing Paperwork ahead of time! I brought my car in for service because of a recall and and the engine light was on. They had the car for 4 weeks with no loaner. The bill was $8500. The day after it was returned, the engine light went on and there were engine noises that were not there before. They kept the car for several days and said they replaced parts at no charge. Two days later, the engine light was on again. They have had the car for 1 week and done nothing. Because the engine light was on, I could not get Car Shield or Endurance, They have had the car now for 5 weeks total. They know that I am handicapped and have missed doctor appointments because of no car. They do not return calls. Their excuse is that they are understaffed. That is not MY problem. They took my money quick enough. This feels like a bad movie script and it is IMPOSSIBLE to speak with management! I guess court is next!!!! read more

We didn't agree on price, they offered $4,000+ under wholesale for my vehicle, significantly less than what Carmax had offered outright without a purchase ( I had gone get an offer for a base case of actual value). My newer trade was arguably in better condition than the older used Porsche that I had interest in. They did revise the offer upward, but the gap was more than I wished to spend at that moment. It is their job to book a good profit, so not unexpected. Pleasant to deal with, it was useful for me to test drive so not a total loss for me either. read more

When confronted, the Service Director told me "Porsche is making us put up a $15,000,000.00 new facility, something has to pay for it." We were looking for a new car to purchase and after visiting a few dealers in MA, where we could not make anything happen, we drove to Hartford . We stopped at Hoffman Porsche on a whim just to see what cars they had on the lot. We were greeted by Silvio, who took the time to learn what we were interested in and what would work for us. With Incredible courtesy and without pressure he showed us a few cars. After test driving a Taycan 4s, I gave him my trade in data and asked him to make me a fair offer for both a trade in as well as the Taycan. By the time I got home, he had emailed me everything needed and the next day we drove down with our car and a bank check to purchase the Porsche. In all of my years of buying many cars, this was by far the easiest, most professional and best experience I have ever had. I bought a Porsche here a year ago. I'm in Vermont, and the Mass dealer in Springfield doesn't have Porsche anymore, so I have to go to CT. Hoffmann's Porsche is a very small office. When I used to go to that Mass dealer (on previous cars I owned), the sales guy I dealt there with would stop by and see how things were. At Hoffman's, when I've stopped by for various services with Lou H. (a decent service desk guy), my sales guy at Hoffman's (I don't want to name him) could not care less and doesn't ever acknowledge my existence, even though he has seen me waiting there. If this is an example of a certified brand ambassador, please give me an uncertified one. I'd use pomposity as the best word to describe him. The whole sales experience with this Ambassador was less than pleasant. However, Porsche dealerships are hard to find, and my job takes me near here each month. Service is decent enough, though stratospherically expensive. I noticed that the car was clean and vacuumed the last time I had it serviced. The waiting area is very small, with just 2 seats near the tv. There is a coffee machine, but no snacks. The last time, I had a service loaner and it was a Porsche Cayenne, which was nice vs the wretched loaners I've gotten at other dealerships. When the small, shared dealers' parking lot is relatively full, It can be difficult driving into the lot sometimes through the narrow lane in front of their Ford dealership. Leaving the dealership, it's a breeze to get back onto I-91 North. It's about 65 minutes to the VT border when there's no traffic. read more

Update as of 8/3: vin etching fee has been refunded This review is solely of JOSH GOMES, the finance guy who finalized my deal. JOSH, who did my bill of sale, REFUSED to remove the $299 vin etching fee, even when I had explained that this is an optional fee. He then preceded to lecture me about how the $699 conveyance fee that the dealership charges is also optional and yet I didn't mind paying for that, how everything else is (including the price of the car) is also optional, and that the fact that they had recently lowered the price of the car translate to this fee being non-negotiable. He then condescendingly showed me the carfax that i had already reviewed saying that this has been recently done hence I had to pay for it, which is NOT true. BUYER BEWARE THAT VIN ETCHING IS OPTIONAL EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN ADDED TO YOUR CAR, NEW OR USED. DO NOT GET FOOLED LIKE I DID, IF THEY MAKE YOU PAY THIS FEE, WALK AWAY IMMEDIATELY!!! "If a consumer objects to the charge, they will say that they already did the work and the charge has to be included. Don't fall for it! The cost to the dealership to perform this "service" is minimal, and a good dealership will agree to drop the charge. If a dealership insists upon including the charge, then a consumer should consider walking away from the deal. Why do business with a company that would engage in shady practices like that?" - Consumer Law Group. Where do i begin? I first saw an advertisement on cars.com for a vehicle that was just traded in. No information was listed so i decided to give Hoffman Porsche a call. I spoke to Heather Meade and requested information from her which they did not have. She took down my information and quickly returned my inquiry with a phone call and an email literally with in an hour or so. The vehicles was listed at a lower price which was a mistake, but Hoffman honored the lower price. This alone was amazing because they could have easily blown me off and gotten much more for the vehicle as it was in "Like New" condition. Heather then transferred me over to Edward Hahn, a Senior Porsche Specialist. Edward Hahn answered all my questions and was very informative and knowledgeable with everything that i needed in order to make this purchase. One day later, i took the 3 hour drive to Ct to pick up my vehicle. The entire process took less than 10 minutes, there was no hassling of prices or extended warranties (even though i did request one). The entire staff was more than helpful and friendly, offering us beverages and a comfy seat where we could just lounge and relax.
