To my surprise, there was still an available time slot so I quickly booked it and waited with anticipation for our time to arrive. We checked in at the front office where we were greeted politely and were given instructions on how to get to, enter and use our sauna pod. The Pods are located right across the street from the Chalets so I was worried at first about having adequate privacy but once we entered the Pod I felt I was transported to the middle of the woods. My favorite part of the Pod was that it was Bluetooth equipped so I was able to play some folk music over the speakers to enhance my woodsy experience. Towels and bottled water are also provided for you in the Pod. We booked an hour, which I thought might be too long in the heat for me personally but after taking the recommended breaks, it didn't feel long enough. We emerged from our Pod soaking in sweat but refreshed and with every endorphin in our bodies firing. It was a fabulous experience!

I booked online and the process was really easy. I got reminder emails, a welcome message when it was time to check-in and everything was contactless when I arrived. While I spent a good amount of time outside of my cabin (Laurelwood), I also spent a good amount of time there. It snowed a lot so I soaked up the giant window views, enjoyed the hot tub, and lots of relaxing. My only big complaint was that of the cabin itself. I couldn't figure out what it was but the entire building was just loud. Like so loud, I couldn't sleep. Had I known, I would have brought ear plugs and trust me, I have them thanks to living in the city. Despite not being able to sleep my two nights there, and constant loud ass humming all throughout, the rest of the experience was solid. The space was comfy, included all the necessities, and they even plowed the driveway after the snow. I love coming here and the Chalets are a great choice. I just might ask about the sound issues on my next visit.

But not having a snow shovel available to your customers during winter caused issues. As we had to sweep the long drive before traveling on it, seeing as it was cement and a rather deep incline. Once we had the drive clean, we ended up purchasing a shovel at the local dollar general, just in case it snowed us in again. We left it on the porch for future guests.

Water damage and mold around tub in back room next to bedroom, mold around hot tub and a board right at bottom of stairs to hot tub curled up with screws sticking out. This place was clearly a hazard all the way around!!! I contacted this company as well as cabin owner. Well... Kendra the owner called back and immediately started verbal attacking me. Would not let me speak and then told me to SHUT UP!!! And hung up on me. Beth from this company only sent me a message stating..... Sorry your unhappy but we do not refund for early departure. My girlfriend has asthma so she stayed outside. this was clearly a health hazard for her more than myself. There was no way in hell we were going to stay here under these conditions. I then had to get a hotel room for the night. Then found another cabin for the remainder of our stay. Mind you. This whole time I'm trying to make contact. Over the past 5 days there has been no response from anyone. The only thing I've gotten back was $29 service fee from the booking company. Which was returned the minute I hung up phone with them. We arrived at Hocking Hills Saturday afternoon, hiked and hung out at the lodge. We then went to our cabin, arriving around 7:00 pm tired and ready for a campfire. But...the driveway was too steep for my SUV to climb. We attempted 4 times and gave up, there was no way my car was going to make it up the hill. We couldn't even see the cabin it was up a huge hill and around a bend. The reservation warned of a steep incline so I called the office when I made the reservation and was told that its only a problem in inclement weather - that was not true! I have a 2024 SUV, I do not have an old car that would be questionable. We couldn't get cell service to call the office so we left and drove to the nearest hotel thinking we would find somewhere else to stay. I reached a lady at Cabins by the Caves and was told we should have been able to get up the hill - her car gets up the hill with no problem and so does the cleaning ladies. Well - my car couldn't and I wasn't going to burn up the engine trying. She eventually gave me my money back and told us "never call again". We tried 4 hotels in the area, all were booked. We had no choice but to drive all the way back home. Needless to say our weekend was a bust. We lost money on our zipline tour and we lost our weekend. The cabin was fairly secluded, but not too far from shopping... It's in a back road, and though there were some other dwellings nearby, we never felt intruded upon or otherwise near anyone else (note: we were there in late winter, so the trees were bare... In the late spring/summer/fall, this wouldn't be a factor). The cabin itself was FLAWLESSLY maintained and equipped... We had plenty of firewood, propane, toilet paper, dishes, utensils, etc. Everything was clean and in it's place... The kitchen, bathroom, outdoor propane grill, and hot tub were immaculate... Decor was just what it should be; log cabin charming... Our cell phones had no service, but internet and satellite TV worked reliably... Even had a blue-ray player and a small but adequate sound-system that we could hear on the back porch while having a romantic dinner al fresco... Clean and functional bathroom with shower, bath, modern toilet, large capacity hot water tank, first aid kit, plunger, vacuum, etc... Seriously, better equipped than even your better motor lodges.. There are even some personal touches/fun games that the proprietors play with their guests, if you wish to participate (Just make sure to read the guest book/literature that is left for you!) :-) A day spa, this is not.. When I showed up we were shown the beds and given the opportunity to walk around with the cabin owner. Everything looked clean. We stayed 4 nights and there were no bites between the 6 of us. Ok now that part is done -- the cabin is a bit past it's prime. There is no Wi-Fi. I am a worry wart so I was nervous about the structure of the home. Starting at the top portion of the house: there were three beds up on the left, careful of the second (or was it the third) from the top stair which isn't truly a stair anymore, it's leaning at a 45 degree angle so it would be easy to slide down the stairs if you aren't using the stair rail. The main floor: the bedroom on this floor is perfectly fine, though the bed is a bit springy. It is connected to a LARGE bathroom with a jet garden tub. The kitchen is lacking cabinet space and counter space, if you are planning on cooking. The fridge is also void of the drawers, and door rails so there's no stage on the door. The stove has seen better days but mostly works fine. The living room has 2 couches, 1 love seat, wood burner, and an older box TV. The floor is a bit weak in here, seemed like one good ragger away from caving in. There are two ways to get to the wrap around porch which is also way past it's prime. That's really all I'll say about that because it's fine enough. There is a grill. The basement: this is where the shower is located. It's also where you get to the hot tub. Other than that there wasn't anything amiss downstairs. Everything was pleasant, it was clean and everything smelled good. There were plenty of clean towels and the kitchen has enough in there, that most people can cook about anything. We found 1 tick the entire time we were there (4 nights 5 days)

We were so excited for a…read morerelaxing weekend away, but when we arrived, the steep gravel driveway to our cabin was impossible to drive up. Our vehicle lost traction and began sliding backward, which was frightening and unsafe -- especially with kids in the car. Nowhere on their website or in the booking confirmation did it say that four-wheel drive was needed to reach the cabin. Lazy Lane later tried to excuse it by saying "it's Hocking Hills," but that doesn't mean every cabin in the area requires special vehicles. Any reputable business should clearly disclose if their property isn't safely accessible by a standard car. When we called for help, the only advice we were given was to park at the bottom of the hill and carry our luggage, groceries, and children up the steep driveway in the dark -- an unacceptable and unsafe suggestion. We had no choice but to turn around and go home, completely devastated. We reached out immediately and followed up several times, but it took days to even get a response. By then, they claimed they couldn't refund us because they had already paid the cabin owner -- even though we called the same night the issue happened. That is not the customer's fault; it's a breakdown in how they handle problems. They later offered two free nights as a "good faith" gesture, but they had to be used before the end of the year. With school and work schedules, that offer was useless to us. Lazy Lane Cabins failed to take responsibility, communicate effectively, or provide any meaningful resolution. Their dismissive attitude and lack of customer care were shocking. If you're thinking about booking with them, don't. The cabins may be inaccessible, and if something goes wrong, you'll be left on your own with no help and no refund.

We booked the Oak Hollow cabin and drove several hours with our children, only to find that the steep gravel driveway was impassable for a minivan. After multiple attempts, we began sliding backwards down the hill -- it was unsafe and terrifying to my kids in the car. Nowhere on the website or in the reservation details did it say that four-wheel drive was required to reach the cabin. And while the company later tried to argue that "it's Hocking Hills" so guests should expect steep roads, that is not a reasonable excuse. Many rentals in the area are fully accessible by standard vehicles. A business renting cabins in the hills should clearly disclose when a property can't be safely accessed without 4-wheel drive. When we called their after-hours number that night, the only suggestion was to park at the bottom of the drive and hike our luggage, groceries, and small children up a steep, unlit gravel path -- completely unrealistic and unsafe. We had no choice but to turn around and drive home, ruining our long-anticipated weekend and wasting hundreds of dollars in groceries and gas. We contacted Lazy Lane immediately and followed all of their instructions, but they were unresponsive for days. By the time they finally replied, they said they couldn't refund us because they had already paid the cabin owner -- even though we notified them the night of the issue. That's not the customer's fault; it's a failure of their business process. They later offered two free nights as a "good faith" gesture, but only if used before the end of the year. That offer was useless to us since our kids are back in school and our vacation time is gone. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but Lazy Lane still refused to issue a refund and continued to insist that the problem was ours. Lazy Lane Cabins completely failed to take responsibility for their lack of disclosure and their poor handling of this situation. Their customer service was dismissive and slow, and their "solution" was impractical. If you're considering booking with them, be warned: the cabins may not be accessible without four-wheel drive, the listings do not make that clear, and if you encounter any problems, you're unlikely to get any help or refund.
