Dirty towel when arrived because of leaking ceilung

Do not rent from this company Go to their site read Testimonies'. We didn't and regret it. We stayed in the worsted place ever- Leaking ceilings, bugs, trash, smelled of animal urine, non working appliances. Tarp as a hot tub cover, outlets without plate covers, We sent letters to management ....... Can't reach management after 3 and cell service is spotty. From others it seems talking to management would have been useless ,if you could get a hold of them. BEWARE Do not stay at Kountry Kisses and according to Testimonies on their website there are others not to stay in also.

Kountry Kisses Cabin 30272 St Rt. 93, McArthur OH 45651 Oven was on and pile of dirt at front door upon arrival. Tripped as soon as I walked in the front door due to warped and unsafe flooring (see pics). All dishes were dirty and had food stuck on. Vents were filthy. Mattress was hard and CHEAP! Mattress, bedding and towels all stink! Water damage in the bathroom. Clear access large enough for a snake to enter the living room and the bathroom (see pics), this is the entry point for the insect infestation! The AC/heat wall unit blasts a horrible smell of pet urine/sewage. Scented wall plug is clearly filthy and never been cleaned. Walls and floors were sticky. Vomit/Food pile off the back porch. Hot tub partially deflated and filled with dead bugs - looks like it was never cleaned between guests! Heart shaped jacuzzi tub has filth from the last soak along with dead bugs. Metal strip walking into the bedroom will cause you to trip, may even cut you. Wall outlets move and act as if they will fall out. Mishaps are clearly painted over rather than replaced! Upon washing hands in kitchen sink the pipe came undone and that was the final straw! We left a day early! This place is gross and it stinks. Health and safety risks! Check out photos! We've demanded a full refund. If no answer in 30 days, I'll be moving forward with small claims! THIS IS NOT A CABIN AS ADVERTISED! THIS IS A MOBILE HOME MODIFIED TO LOOK LIKE A CABIN! You're overpaying for crap quality here, go somewhere else!

Kountry kisses: This "cabin" is by far the worst I've ever stayed in. Upon arriving I immediately noticed the tub was dirty. Things continued to get worse. If it wasn't for the fact that we had already paid for this place we would have left early and went home to a more clean place of living. There were gnats the entire weekend. The blinds are broken which is a pretty cheap fix. The floor by the back door feels like its caving in. The WiFi didn't work. There were spiderwebs in almost every corner of this place. Absolute filth. Not sure what our cleaning fee was for during the rental process because clearly things weren't thoroughly cleaned at all. The large burner on the stove doesn't work and the oven light is out. The best part was because of the filth our sub buns gotten eaten in the night by a rodent, a baggie of flour got a hole eaten out of it, and my friends shorts got a whole eaten in the pocket from food crumbs being in there. With a pandemic happening right now cleanliness should be of upmost importance!!!! I wouldn't want my enemy to live in such an environment. I am extremely disappointed and expected much more. I'll take this as a lesson learned and hope that they can clean this place up some.

    Their bar area

Kountry Kisses. A heath hazard. Awful. I made a yelp just to write and warn people of this place as it seems all the other cabins are "nice" but this one should just be torn down and rebuilt. DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT ROACHES AND MICE. Firstly all their pictures posted of it on all websites are outdated. The furniture in a lot of spots are moved and different. We were promised a DVD player. There wasn't one.The grill is different than pictured. It's really a flimsy metal one you find stuck in the ground at a park. The picnic table is sub par at best and feels like it's going to fall apart if more than one person steps on it. The front porch feels like it's falling apart walking on it is scary. Loose boards all over the front and back porch. As I said there are roaches and mice. We came into the place first day and found rat turds on the sink! We could come in after 3 but it seemed like no one had cleaned the place in months. After one night mice chewed through food we had up and away as we saw the mice droppings we didn't want to leave anything out. We found multiple roaches dead under the bed and killed a live one in the bedroom. We could hear the mice at night and other bugs. It was very unsettling. They constantly talked about how clean things are and how someone named Ashley cleaned the place but we had no sponge to clean dishes and we had to literally clean every dish because they had junk all over them! Literally huge chunks of leftovers on the plates. The jacuzzi was disgustingly dirty. Ran it twice after cleaning and was still dirty and pumping out just disgusting bits. There's also rusty nails and broken parts around the wood framing the tub and it cut my leg pretty deep and I had to actually go and get a tetanus shot. It really seemed like no one even cleaned this place as there was layers of dust and dirt in many places. I get covid I do. I work in a restaurant. Things are tough. But this is no excuse. The electric fireplace didn't work. Half the lights did not work. The hot tub was pretty nice and updated than what the picture showed. Literally the only good thing of our stay. It smelled strongly of chlorine and was the only clean thing in the place. However if you want to go during the day you have to look straight at the neighboring cabin only a few feet away. There's no shade and no lights if you want to go at night after sunset besides the small one inside the actual hot tub. Also a minor but still pretty big deal was you're not far from the road. After our first night we found someone threw a beer bottle onto the rock driveway. There also is a cabin very close next to you. Literally right next to you and their back end can see right exactly where you would be in the back with the hot tub. No privacy or shade in the front or back porch. A family was renting next to us at the same time. You think a cabin meant for couples would have more privacy. We could hear them easily in our cabin. This was very misleading in all websites. If I had seen updated pictures I would have never booked. I will never stay here again nor ever recommend this cabin. Beth talked so highly of this place and I don't think I can ever trust this group that rents cabins now. I'm extremely disappointed. We wanted to make this a yearly thing. Where I work we had at least 2 couple ask you take pictures of this specific place as they wanted to go for a getaway. I wouldn't recommend this even to someone I hated. We definitely will pick somewhere much better and a lot closer to hocking hills and I found nicer ones not owned by these people to suggest to people. The bug problem is awful and the doors just let everything in. We found 3 ticks inside the cabin. We have to bug bomb all of our things because we don't want roaches at home. From seeing other reviews this place is clearly an issue and Beth should see these reviews but clearly does not care. I have seen many reviews elsewhere that she is rude and locals in try's area have even said she is not a great person to do business with. Well I clearly learned who not to book with for next year.

    LOVED this cabin
    Lisa B.

We stayed here for Patents weekend at Ohio University. I'm so thankful we found this gem. The cabin was Perfect and beautiful. We'll definitely be back. The only negatives is its pretty hard to find especially at night. But they answered the phone and talked us in. The pans provided stick lime crazy no matter what you cook in them so I'd bring a couple. Also run foil would be helpful. They also only provided one roll of toilet paper. And finally the cleaning crew needs to pay attention to the little details. There's cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling and behind the sofa. But even So we loved it!!!!

For those who want the short version: This place is an awesome place to stay for a vacation get…read moreaway for a large group! Here's the detailed version: The house is located in Hocking Hills and is the perfect place for a large group of people! There are 3 floors with 8 bedrooms and 11 beds. The top floor is a loft that has 2 beds. There are 4 bedrooms on the main floor- 3 that have 1 bed, and 1 room that has full sized bunk beds. On the bottom floor, there are 3 bedrooms- 2 rooms that have 1 bed and 1 room that has bunk beds. Note: all the beds are queen/full sized beds even the bunk beds so the house could potentially sleep 22 people. The house is a beautiful lodge with hardwood floors (don't forget to take slippers!). There are 2 kitchens which was a bonus when cooking for a large group! There are also 2 dining room tables (one on the main floor, one downstairs) and 2 living room spaces. The house has 4 bathrooms (2 on each floor). Note: If you go there with a lot of people, try to be one of the first to take a shower because the hot water DOES run out if everyone is taking consecutive showers. When you go, towels (including beach towels) and linens/blankets are provided. They also provide some toilet paper and soap (dish soap, shampoo, etc) which was enough for a 2 day stay but if you're staying for the whole week, you may need to bring more. In the kitchen, you can find plates, silverware, some pots and pans, cups. They have some cooking utensils like spatulas, ladles, can opener, etc. They have a coffee maker and filters but if you like fresh coffee beans, you have to bring your own coffee grinder. There are 2 TVs there which both have DVD players and direct TV but they don't have HDMI connections so you can't hook up an Xbox. There's no wi-fi and you probably won't be able to get good cell phone service while there. But they do have corn hole, scrabble, taboo and a couple decks of cards for game night! It was actually great to get away from technology i.e. internet, etc and enjoy time with the family. In order to get there, you have to drive on some country roads- some that look like they are only one lane so I recommend trying to get there before dark just because it's so hard to see when it's night time. Also on the website, they recommend 4 wheel drive which I totally agree with! You have to drive up this steep gravel/stone driveway. One of our cars was a sedan and had trouble getting up the entire way. If you don't have 4WD, you can still make it up (although if it may be a problem if it's snowing) but try driving in reverse. Our larger cars (mini SUVs/Vans that didn't have 4WD) had problems going up driving forward, but were able to make it up in reverse. Again, it's a lot easier driving up in reverse during the day than at night. The contact person is Theresa. She was quick to respond to questions we had about the place via email. I didn't really have much contact with her since someone else dealt with the reservation but she seemed nice when I met her when we checked out of the lodge.

My female relatives (aunts, cousins, and grandmother) and I came to Hocking Hills to reunite after an incredibly long time without seeing or hugging each other. It was a little strange when the owner of the property mentioned THREE different times in one message not to follow GPS, but instead, use her directions. The oddities continued as she insisted to be there when we arrived to greet us since none of us had experienced this with a VRBO rental prior to this getaway. But the neuroses of the ownership finally smacked us straight in the face when we realized that greeting was simply to walk us through the rules. Many, many rules. Complete with a binder left for your reading pleasure and a condescending lecture from the owner to a group of adult women. There were 13 of us ranging in age from 29 to 88, but it really didn't matter who we were. Jesus Christ could have walked in with his 12 disciples and she would have asked him to make sure he showered before entering the hot tub. Her tone was both rude and insulting. Things we were warned of during her tirade, lest we be charged additional fees: Do not eat, drink, or sleep on the sofas. If you are going to sleep on the pillows, remove the pillow shams and use the pillowcases in the closets. Do not leave the coffee maker plugged in when not in use. Do not move the furniture. Do not get in the hot tub without showering. Do not leave any loose trash without bagging it. This includes boxes that are too big for bags. After leaving the property, we were informed that we left loose trash, which is an outright fabrication, clearly designed to offer a "reason" for additional charges. We were meticulously cleaning the entire cabin all morning to be sure to reach her satisfaction and even cut down all boxes so that they would fit into trash bags and not be considered "loose". One of the comments by the owner was that she was forced to empty the trash can and rebag it because there was loose trash and it was unsanitary. Speaking of unsanitary, you are asked not to strip the beds when leaving the property so they can "inventory" (AKA look for things to forfeit your security deposit) the linens. We did have our suspicions on the motive of the owner when one of my aunts pulled her blankets back on the first night and found a hair on the sheets. We were also told to wash the dishes used and then put them away. I am not a health inspector, but every place I've ever rented has either asked to load and run the dishwasher but leave the dishes in there or just load it and not run it. I suspect this is so that the renters do not then touch the clean dishes to put them away, but what would an unsanitary person like myself know about health codes? Interested in keeping your loved ones posted while haphazardly moving furniture and sleeping on sofas in a cabin in the woods? No problem! There is a landline that allows you to hear a couple of syllables at a time, which is enough to ensure that your spouse is ta.....car......tom..... And if that is not enough contact, the owner does offer the use of her personal Wifi for a small fee of $5/day in cash only. No exact change? No problem there either! Just give her the next bill you've got higher than the total and she'll call it even! It was blatantly clear with each warning of impending charges for things like spotty wifi and sleeping on pillow shams that the goal here was to come up with some failure to abide so that we could lose our security deposit and wring out any spare change we had for things like communicating with important people in our lives. But wait...there's more! The wifi doesn't work half the time and the TV in the main living space doesn't work either, which I guess is okay since who wants to watch television without the snacks and beverages that are strictly forbidden on the living room furniture. Anyway, the cabin was beautiful and there were lots of towels and beds and bathrooms and two kitchens. Those things were great. We had an amazing time because we are an amazing group of women, but it was a shame that every single one of us walked away saying, "this weekend was perfect if it hadn't been for that horrible owner." Perhaps if someone is that neurotic and paranoid, they might seek a different line of work than allowing strangers to use their property to enjoy themselves. If you want a place that limits your freedoms and puts rules on your fun, this is the cabin for you. Otherwise, run to the closest Red Roof Inn, because I bet the people there are at least welcoming.

When I showed up we were shown the beds and given the opportunity to walk around with the cabin owner. Everything looked clean. We stayed 4 nights and there were no bites between the 6 of us. Ok now that part is done -- the cabin is a bit past it's prime. There is no Wi-Fi. I am a worry wart so I was nervous about the structure of the home. Starting at the top portion of the house: there were three beds up on the left, careful of the second (or was it the third) from the top stair which isn't truly a stair anymore, it's leaning at a 45 degree angle so it would be easy to slide down the stairs if you aren't using the stair rail. The main floor: the bedroom on this floor is perfectly fine, though the bed is a bit springy. It is connected to a LARGE bathroom with a jet garden tub. The kitchen is lacking cabinet space and counter space, if you are planning on cooking. The fridge is also void of the drawers, and door rails so there's no stage on the door. The stove has seen better days but mostly works fine. The living room has 2 couches, 1 love seat, wood burner, and an older box TV. The floor is a bit weak in here, seemed like one good ragger away from caving in. There are two ways to get to the wrap around porch which is also way past it's prime. That's really all I'll say about that because it's fine enough. There is a grill. The basement: this is where the shower is located. It's also where you get to the hot tub. Other than that there wasn't anything amiss downstairs. Everything was pleasant, it was clean and everything smelled good. There were plenty of clean towels and the kitchen has enough in there, that most people can cook about anything. We found 1 tick the entire time we were there (4 nights 5 days)

We loved grilling out, sitting by the firepit, playing basketball, sitting on the front porch overlooking the nature preserve, hanging out in the hot tub, and relaxing with the very friendly cats that reside on the property (if you're an animal lover, they're really hard not to grow very fond of after a couple days!). We were especially impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin and how little bugs we saw for it being in the middle of the woods. WiFi worked really well, too. Cell phone service (as can be expected) was very spotty for us on different parts of the property. Well, we missed last year's trip because it was booked up. Meadows Lodge is nicely layed out with beautiful solid wood decor throughout and plush carpet to make you feel at home. At 6,700+ sq/ft, it's the largest cabin available there. It has 8 bedrooms (15 total beds), 4 full baths, 25+ acres, hot tub, internet and DirecTV with a 120 inch theater with surround sound, roulette table, card table, pool table and Foosball table in the basement, volleyball court, in-ground heated pool, built-in grill, (bring your own propane) built-in bar, corn hole, horse shoes and access to 160 acres of hiking. The full kitchen comes complete with cookware and utensils and there's also a kitchenette and a laundry room in the basement. In the yard they have a large fire pit with bench seats around it. You have to provide your own firewood, but they have delivery services available. The cabin is about a 20 minute drive from some of the attractions at Hocking Hills State Park. We always make a drive over to Old Man's Cave for some scenic hiking. Check it out! They also have zip lining and horseback riding close by, but we have yet to try that out. The Meadows gets booked up pretty quick, so we usually need to reserve it a year in advance. We usually reserve it for early spring and for 3 nights and it usually comes out to around $1700. When divided amongst our usual group of 17 or so people, it's really reasonable. Late spring and summer rates can almost double in cost, so we find this time of the year the best deal. We can't justify paying that much more just to have the pool open! If you have a large group or a smaller one, book the Meadows Lodge or any of the smaller cabins in the area for a great time in Hocking Hills!
