High Rock Hideaways is centrally located in the Hocking Hills area of Ohio and is super close to a lot of Hocking Hills State Park's best attractions! We ended up staying in the Yesteryear Cabin on the property and it was the perfect size for two people. (See photos below) My favorite part about this cabin was the wraparound porch and the hot tub in the back. Though we didn't get to use the porch as much as I would have liked because it was super cold outside, the view was still great through the sliding glass doors. I was a bit nervous about bed bugs from reading the past reviews, but we checked the bed before sleeping on it the first night and it was squeaky clean! No problems there. One of the best parts of this cabin was actually the grounds that it is located on! It's easy to overlook the High Rock trails for the ones in the state park, but this is a HUGE mistake. We almost skipped out on them and I'm so glad we didn't! The trails snake over the few acres of land that is the High Rock property and are basically deserted except for a few deer running around. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere with no one around for miles. It was awesome! I cannot wait to visit here again and try out the other cabins in the future. If you're looking for a quick weekend getaway in Hocking Hills, this is the spot! Pro-Tip: No matter how tired you are from hiking the Hocking Hills State Park trails, don't neglect to try the trails on the High Rock property! You won't regret it!

Plenty of space and amenities for an extended weekend for two. The kitchen, bath, living room, bed and hot tub and were all clean when we arrived. We could both tell the cabin is very well kept. Plenty of dishes, towels etc. I highly recommend you come here during the winter - it's very cozy. Also.. no mosquitoes. The nearby hikes were great as well. In addition to the State Park, this private property offers their own hikes. Go check them out if you have time.

I had booked the lodge in December for a June stay and all arrival instructions were clearly articulated. House was very clean, furniture was comfortable, and you are about 10 minutes from Old Man's Cave. If you need something from Logan it is more of a 25-30 minute drive to a Walmart or Kroger. Also included staying here is a pool pass good for 12. I highly recommend the Gray Wolf lodge. It was a great experience in the Hocking Hills.

We arrived at Hocking Hills Saturday afternoon, hiked and hung out at the lodge. We then went to our cabin, arriving around 7:00 pm tired and ready for a campfire. But...the driveway was too steep for my SUV to climb. We attempted 4 times and gave up, there was no way my car was going to make it up the hill. We couldn't even see the cabin it was up a huge hill and around a bend. The reservation warned of a steep incline so I called the office when I made the reservation and was told that its only a problem in inclement weather - that was not true! I have a 2024 SUV, I do not have an old car that would be questionable. We couldn't get cell service to call the office so we left and drove to the nearest hotel thinking we would find somewhere else to stay. I reached a lady at Cabins by the Caves and was told we should have been able to get up the hill - her car gets up the hill with no problem and so does the cleaning ladies. Well - my car couldn't and I wasn't going to burn up the engine trying. She eventually gave me my money back and told us "never call again". We tried 4 hotels in the area, all were booked. We had no choice but to drive all the way back home. Needless to say our weekend was a bust. We lost money on our zipline tour and we lost our weekend. DO NOT RENT THIS CABIN WITHOUT A 4 WHEEL DRIVE!!

The reason for me giving 3 stars is that the photos posted by the owners are quite deceptive regarding the distance from a busy highway. As you can see from my photos, CO-19 is approximately 30 feet from the cabin. Without the TV on, you can hear constant traffic even with the door closed. Trying to sit on the porch to relax was impossible because the road is so loud. The cabin is basically as pictured on the website, very homey and comfortable, and the other 3 cabins are far enough from Luna's to allow for privacy. We would have definitely had a wonderful, romantic honeymoon weekend if it hadn't been for the constant noise.

One word for the water.....SULFUR. The water was so bad that it ended up turning all our sterling jewelry orange, and that was bad considering we only bathed twice. :O With all the water treatment options available now and with what you had installed downstairs for water treatment it was too bad about our jewelry and the odor. Hope our jewelry can be fixed! No hand towel rings. There are several places to mount a towel holder by the bathroom sink. Also.... no place to set your toiletry supply bag. Hard for the ladies especially. Lack of dinnerware. Only 2 ceramic dinner sized plates and the rest were tin. Really? Dollar Tree has some really nice ceramic plates for $1 each. Light bulb out on ceiling fan and the whole place is dim so you need all the light you can get. Kitchen would REALLY benefit from light strips under the cabinets. No light at all in shower. Could hardly see to bathe! Also need a lighted vent fan in bathroom. No sponge or kitchen dishrag of any kind to hand wash dishes. Need at least a sponge there and more than just one dish towel. The place was nice enough but not $200 a night nice. Honestly.... this was the most expensive cabin we have stayed in and the least nice, and we have stayed in many cabins. Hopefully you will at least consider our comments to make some improvements. And being that we never received any kind of response from several emails to Doug AND to our comments per above when sent to him, wont be staying here ever again.

Decided a pitch black cabin in the boonies eith no cell service wasnt going to work so we went back home. Couple days later, still isn't on. Very aggressive when asking for a refund. Offered to reschedule 2 days later, that was their only option, as 2 full time workers we couldnt accommodate that. Basically stole $450 from us. 10 out of 10 would not recommend this place. Plenty of cabins closer to hocking hills with legitimate business owners. These owners have one thing in mind and one thing only YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

I stayed in the lodge hotel rooms with our friend and 2 year old. I booked the king suite with a pull out couch and balcony. It was perfect, had a view of the lake and was right near the bar restaurant. It was very convenient having 2 bathrooms. The main bedrooms bathroom was newly re done, the other rooms seemed older but worked fine. There's dish cable tv and wifi. I was told there were charcoal grills for use and when I arrived they didn't seem to know anything about it which was odd. However we found grills for use next to the playground near the lodge. The story book trail is great for a nice hike with little ones. My husband enjoyed the disc golf course. I wish on the website they clarified that if you want to swim in the lake you have to drive to the swimming beach, but it wasn't too far. There's boating and hunting and fishing as well. Food at the restaurant is over priced but you pay for convenience since there's nothing close by to eat. There's fire pits with a nice view of the lake, and fire wood to purchase if you didn't bring your own. The rooms have a microwave and mini fridge. Overall we have a very nice time and I'd definitely come back.

If you must, the way to go is order a pizza to go and pick it up when it is ready. The pros: beautiful view over the water, great at sun down. The cons: the food took way too long to come out. They forgot to bring the soup and salad we order before the meal, and by the time they went to get my soup, they had run out of that kind! See attached photos and video of the fish. Sad to say both my wife and I ordered that same meal. When it finally did come out the fish was so deeply fried that it was rock hard and there was not much remanence of any kind of fish meat left to be scavenged. Not even a forest dwelling mongrel would have gone for this disastrous preparation. I asked the waitress if it was supposed to be like this and she said "yes". (looking back that is a pretty funny answer) I told her that we were not going to be able to eat the meal. I mean even if we wanted to, it really wasn't food at this point. Is there anything she could do for us? After going to the back and having a discussion with her manger, she came back and said she could provide 30% off of each fish meal..... that is so close to doing nothing. And it wasn't just us. After we "ate" another couple stopped us and told us about the terrible experience they had with the meal. Burr Oak Lodge Restaurant, I suggest you just serve pizza.
