They drop you off in a fucking 2 feet deep of mud. HORRIBLE
    April S.

I gave them 2 stars for the following reasons : 1. Made us wait in a super hot bus for 15 minutes after we dropped the first group off for the smaller trail 2. Dropped us off in a spot where we were knee deep in mud and everyone was getting stuck

This was so much fun! It was my first time ever canoeing. Hocking shills Canoe Livery is so organized, professional, and made the whole experience a breeze. This was the perfect summertime getaway, in my opinion. When you first get there, you register your group and get your paddles and life jackets. Then you wait with your group and others for a school bus loaded with the kayaks and canoes to take you downstream to your desired starting point. My family and I chose the 7-mile long path. Again, I thought the whole process of getting us out to the water was super organized! But, we went on a day with multiple groups of college students and a 50+ church group of little kids, so when we actually got out on the water it was pretty hectic to say the least... The views were gorgeous and it was really really relaxing once we let everyone go on ahead of us. Canoeing is actually much easier than I thought! After you've completed the stream and pull back ashore to the Livery, they take your canoes and kayaks and you're off! The people working there were very nice, as well. And don't forget to stop by the gift shop afterwards if you're a souvenir T-shirt person like me! I really recommend this place especially if you're vacationing in the area for Hocking Hills!

    Kayak trip

Regular canoe/kayak experience. Good if you are local, not worth the trip if you have any place closer, in spite it's sitting on hocking hills. No any views or wild life, water is mostly slow and low. Service is great plus they have restrooms with free showers. 7mi trip is too long for beginners, nothing special comparing to shorter trips besides zip line guys :)

For $26 for a kayak rental, I had a great relaxing 3 hour adventure on the water! Rentals were easy, the life jackets were clean, staff was very friendly. It was very easy on the river, I hardly had to paddle if I didn't want to. I saw kids, adults, teens, some in canoes, some kayaks, and some just floating on an inner tube. There were hardly any rapids, it was very easy for someone who has been several times in large lakes, oceans, and rivers. Great place for beginners or those who aren't sure if they can do it. I think just about anyone would be fine there. I had a blast and the staff was awesome!!

Great place for beginners and pros alike. They offer a 5 and a 7 mile course. We chose the five mile trip simply for time factors. It was a peaceful trip with easy paddling and a good current through most of the trip. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The facilities are clean as well as their equipment. They drive you to the starting.point with gear (either your own or rented) you kayak downstream back to your vehicle where staffers help pull your boat out the water. We used our own kayak, so I cannot rate their boats. Fun trip and a must do for the Hocking area.

    Very scenic

Has been a favorite summer spot of ours for over a decade and continues to be. Will be back next summer as well.

Stay away on the weekend. They booked about 1000 people at 10 am. Took an hour to get started and very hectic.

We went canoeing today and the river was high so they were only letting experienced canoers take a canoe out.

The guides were Ian and Kyle, they are super smart and helpful. Their patience is what we needed and received. At our age, safety is a big concern. These folks ensure it and restored our confidence. Not an easy task. We are talking seriously of coming back and doing the X tour. We now have another destination for next year. I know it shouldn't be said, so I left it for last. I truly believe Yelp's silly ass policy of no selfies should be changed. We have dozens of photos of the three of us having a blast that would benefit this business and the people reading this experience. 04/25

My tour guides, Mel and Olivia were hilarious, friendly, and made the whole experience enjoyable. With this tour being about 3 hours long, I feel like it is worth the money. They do also offer slightly cheaper rates on weekdays and discounted rates for children 10-15 years old. Beautiful views of the trees and Hocking River. Definitely would recommend this experience if you're visiting the area!

So we went to BrewDog for lunch and then headed over to the park and took a walk in the Tall Pines area, and it did not disappoint! I only wish the Tall Pines were even more plentiful. (They are a good little chunk of the trail in the middle but not the entire trail is full of them but don't let that stop you!) They are beautiful and such a marvel. I could have just laid down and stared at them. The trail was flat and easy and was the perfect length for a nice afternoon walk. I'll definitely be back to stare at those tall trees some more :)

I like to hike on snowy days when the sun's out and over the weekend I took advantage of the prime weather conditions and made my way out there. There's a sign out front letting you know to turn and there's a relatively small parking lot to leave your car. The start of the trails were easy to find thanks to the signage and after getting my bearings I headed out. The trail turns and weaves for a couple miles making a few loops. It was pretty simple to navigate which was awesome. And while the parking lot was full, I didn't run into too many people. I love that! I enjoyed every minute of my time out there. If you're like me and in need of a little time to disconnect from the world, come here. Of course, the entire place was extremely photogenic, the tall pines area being the most instagram worthy. I could have laid down right in the middle of it and just enjoyed the sound of the birds, the wind, and the feeling of the warm sunshine on my face. The only thing is the only area I found to sit down was on the other side of the park. It would have been nice to see a few more benches scattered about. Come here. Soak up nature. The peace and quiet. Unwind and settle your brain. You're welcome.
