Place is pretty nice with a good sized parking lot (there's even food trucks here occasionally) staff is informative & friendly, and the directions are clear (if you catch yourself asking "where to now?", stick to the left). Distance is measured by the bridges; I think on the Sampler Trip you pass 2 bridges, and on the Lower Trip you pass 6. MAKE RESERVATIONS, unless you do the Sampler or the Lower Trip, those are First Come First Serve. As I mentioned above, I believe this is one of the most exciting & fun trips because when the water is high, there's a lot of areas that are Mario Kart speed boosts that will send you flying. However, when the water is low, you will have to paddle yourself majority of the time, and you will get stuck in shallow areas which is really frustrating. You will need to get out & push yourself out, which sucks but gotta do what you gotta do to keep moving. Keep an eye out on weather & water levels on their website, best time to go is a few days after it has rained and there's a good amount of water on the creek. Water levels are out of Trapper John's control obviously, so it's up to you to research or ask the staff.

Was going to buy a suspension fork, crankshaft, and whatever else I could for my new bike build but we just left because it didn't feel like our business mattered. As much as I'd prefer to support a local business, I need that business to care just as much about me and its own business as I do. Sadly, I doubt we'll go back. I have done a tube float from Murrays down the Hocking River twice now. Both times I had a lot of…read morefun on the water! However, there have been some giant trees in the water that I always seem to get caught on. I think if they are offering a service like a tube float they should attempt to clean up some of the sharp debri that is in the river. Murray's does seem to have a good number of floats to rent if you don't want to bring your own. They also offer floating coolers to rent. Murrays now requires 1 person to make a reservation for a group and to pay upfront. This does make it a bit of a headache when you have a large group but I suppose it's understandable in covid times. When you arrive they blow up your float for you and then transport you and your float upstream to drift back to the starting point. Once at the starting point they just drop you off and leave you to figure out how to group up and float down the river together. Some advice or help would be nice but so far my whole group has made it back in one piece lol.
