Too busy on their phones and just standing around shooting the breeze. Felt awkward as soon as we entered because of this. Tried to strike up a conversation with one of the staff but was just meh. Was going to buy a suspension fork, crankshaft, and whatever else I could for my new bike build but we just left because it didn't feel like our business mattered. As much as I'd prefer to support a local business, I need that business to care just as much about me and its own business as I do. Sadly, I doubt we'll go back. No real reason to drive 25 to 30 minutes to be ignored. I can get the same level of customer service online since it was hands off, impersonal, and cold. I have done a tube float from Murrays down the Hocking River twice now. Both times I had a lot of…read morefun on the water! However, there have been some giant trees in the water that I always seem to get caught on. I think if they are offering a service like a tube float they should attempt to clean up some of the sharp debri that is in the river. Murray's does seem to have a good number of floats to rent if you don't want to bring your own. They also offer floating coolers to rent. Murrays now requires 1 person to make a reservation for a group and to pay upfront. This does make it a bit of a headache when you have a large group but I suppose it's understandable in covid times. When you arrive they blow up your float for you and then transport you and your float upstream to drift back to the starting point. Once at the starting point they just drop you off and leave you to figure out how to group up and float down the river together. Some advice or help would be nice but so far my whole group has made it back in one piece lol.

So we went to BrewDog for lunch and then headed over to the park and took a walk in the Tall Pines area, and it did not disappoint! I only wish the Tall Pines were even more plentiful. (They are a good little chunk of the trail in the middle but not the entire trail is full of them but don't let that stop you!) They are beautiful and such a marvel. I could have just laid down and stared at them. The trail was flat and easy and was the perfect length for a nice afternoon walk. I'll definitely be back to stare at those tall trees some more :)

What a fabulous park! I'm kicking myself for not visiting sooner. It's about twenty minutes from my…read moreplace and I've been seeing beautiful pictures of the tall pines here forever. I like to hike on snowy days when the sun's out and over the weekend I took advantage of the prime weather conditions and made my way out there. There's a sign out front letting you know to turn and there's a relatively small parking lot to leave your car. The start of the trails were easy to find thanks to the signage and after getting my bearings I headed out. The trail turns and weaves for a couple miles making a few loops. It was pretty simple to navigate which was awesome. And while the parking lot was full, I didn't run into too many people. I love that! I enjoyed every minute of my time out there. If you're like me and in need of a little time to disconnect from the world, come here. Of course, the entire place was extremely photogenic, the tall pines area being the most instagram worthy. I could have laid down right in the middle of it and just enjoyed the sound of the birds, the wind, and the feeling of the warm sunshine on my face. The only thing is the only area I found to sit down was on the other side of the park. It would have been nice to see a few more benches scattered about. Come here. Soak up nature. The peace and quiet. Unwind and settle your brain. You're welcome.
