I have a new hobby. Drinking moonshine. Okay, maybe that's too far. But, I can't think of a time where I've had more fun. They make the process so interesting I was like a sponge trying to absorb every detail. I couldn't get enough. When I heard about $1 samples, I went to the atm then checked Yelp for designated drivers! Truthfully, we had two DD's in our party. SCORE! Both were happy to take the keys. A couple of the blends were a bit too sweet for me, so I sampled them again to be sure. The bourbon was the best. The folks here were terrific. Answered all our questions, talked about what we wanted to. Great listeners. I guess it could have been the mash. So if you're in the Hocking Hills area this is a must. We decided to stop by Hocking Hills Moonshine on our trip to Hocking Hills last week. We were greeted by a lovely lady who said it was her second day working there. She was SO NICE!! We had intended to buy one bottle of moonshine. After she gave us a tour and a couple of samples, we were happy to buy two bottles of moonshine, an apple mixer, a bbq sauce and a really cute shot glass. MOONSHINE SLUSHES!!!!! We stopped on Labor Day in the late afternoon, we got a short tour and explanation of the moonshine making process. We then had a flight of the diffrent moonshines and the bourbon. We also got some samples of the flavored syrups to mix with some of the flavors. It was very nice. We enjoyed it a lot, then we moved over to the bar and had samples of the moonshine slushes. We had Rasberry and peach tea. We ended up getting a full size peach tea slush, we enjoyed it very much. We also had a bourbon root beer float. It was good as well. I encourage everyone to stop in and give it a try!! read more

Tried 4 of the moonshines. The flavored ones are a bit sweet for me, but I really liked the bourbon! The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Nice open space with some historical memorabilia. Also, gave the kids lollipops which was a nice surprise! read more

After two wineries, my girls trip gal pals were ready for something not wine and this was perfect! We did the tour because none of us knew anything about moonshine and then we dove right into the tasting. I was wary because I'm a lightweight with hard liquor but they know exactly how to make the tasting delicious, with additions like French vanilla, caramel, lemon, etc. Among our group we probably tried most combinations and almost of us walked away with a bottle or two. I highly recommend the granny apple moonshine with the caramel apple mixer. And if you go, ask if they can make you a Resting Pitch Face. Awesome place, staff and tasting. read more

Yea. 5 stars. I thought about it. And there's no reason not to. The gentleman that took care of us was sooooo friendly. He asked us where we were from and then pulled out a book and told us where we could buy their product in our neighborhood. That's good business! It's a small, unassuming place. I don't make it a habit of buying a bottle at every place I visit but I couldn't walk out the door with out the peach moonshine. It adds a whole new level to my ice tea! Covid protocols in place. We had a very nice tour. The guide is a 4th generation moonshiner and included interesting historical and family information. She was great We sampled all 8 varieties. OMG Hocking Hills Moonshine!! That is all I can say!! Truly AMAZING!!! I was home right when places were being restricted for Covid-19. No, it wasn't for hand sanitizer!! I was talking to the staff member inside, we were the only ones in the facility. He asked if we would like a tour and took the tour, amazing process by the way!!! Later to find out he was the owner!! An amazing person and amazing owner!! We sampled a couple of the different shines and narrowed down our selection. We stalked up for my visit while I was back in Logan. Stopped in while on an extended weekend getaway. Was greeter promptly by super friendly staff. The facility smells amazing. Everything was clean and well organized. I walked out a Buckeye 151 proof and a Peach Iced Tead. Didn't sample anything, but was pleasantly pleased with our picks. Can't wait to come back again!! read more

Everyone here was so welcoming and cheerful! I mean, when a group of ladies dressed up in 80's workout gear comes at you, you could be hesitant, but not this group!! They were so excited to see us and have us try out their moonshine! They let us pose for pictures and kindly let us use their restroom as well. This place is a hidden gem. Had a great time here with the owner who showed us around his place and let us know what was coming in the future (restaurant). The moonshine is some of the best I have had and smooooooth! This is located in downtown Logan, if you have the opportunity to stop by, you won't be disappointed. We ended up buying a bottle of the blackberry shine because it is good with sangrias. The staff was nice and venue was large and clean. My partner and I stopped in here because we saw an article on the place in a Hocking Hills magazine. This place is a GEM! It's all run by a family: a brother and sister and their cousin and that's the kind of business this is. One or more of those three people greet you inside and give you a short history lesson about moonshine and the artifacts around the front room. Then you'll be able to take a tour in the back where they make all their moonshine. The facility is super clean and they're growing so they're not a lot of room for all the barrels. I won't ruin all the surprises but just say the process it a lot of fun. You can also purchase 1/4oz samples of their moonshine in Buckeye Lightning 120 proof, regular, or ant one of their flavors. They were all so good and smooth. The sensation was a smooth warm one. Truly a great product. It was hard to choose which one we wanted to take home with us! We decided on the Granny Apple Moonshine. They make all their moonshine in this location and get all their ingredients as local as possible. Even their water is from a local farm and they're working on recycling the mash back to those farms to be even more sustainable and local. While they have limited products, they are quality products. They focus in on making the best moonshine they can and are looking to expand in the future. If you're in the area, take a trip to this little gem, meet the people, and enjoy a sample or two....or four of the good stuff and I guarantee you won't leave without a whole bottle. read more

We were in the area for a wedding and decided to try out the local flavor. We're from Tennessee, so we were excited to see what they had! Their blackberry was better than ours at home!!! Their Granny apple was great when mixed with monin caramel! Surprisingly, although theirs flavors were great, the experience itself was rather lackluster. The person doing the tasting wasn't really all that engaging. We really had to work hard to try to get him to loosen up. The owners were also there that evening and and even when we complemented them, they seemed less than enthused about customers and barely looked up at us. The good news is, you can buy this at a liquor store so there's no real need to go to the actual distillery if you want some. read more

So much fun, I learned a lot staff was awesome, took home a bottle to share with friends.

This is an odd place. They are located in a strip mall type setting which to me is weird for a distillery. The folks there however are very friendly and accommodating which was nice. I don't know much about moonshine so I don't have too much to say about their quality but they do have mix ins like apple pie flavor for their whisky so for someone like me who doesn't love whiskey it was nice. However their "tour" was more of a view of their back office. I think it was cool and all but not much to look at. Worth a visit if you have time but nothing crazy to see here in my opinion. read more

Very fun, can take up to 4 shots and get a tour of the distillery. They brew and make it right there. $25.00 a bottle, we liked raspberry the best. They also had chocolate and t-shirts there. Fun little place where the DMV use to be. The lady doing the tour and drinks was awesome. read more

I give it a 4 because I like these type of places and want to support them. I even purchased a bottle. I was very disappointed in the sample price. $1 a sip is steep, and it is a sip. I know according to Ohio law they have to charge for tasting but Yikes that is high. They are making a killing on a bottle. They flavor selection was ok, but not great.
