We visited Double Edge for a comedy night and we were very impressed with this small town bar. The comedians were funny and lively, giving the night more of a Columbus vibe. A diamond in the rough in Downtown Lancaster. I'm not sure why I have t been here before now. It is one of the stops along the Columbus Ale trail, and a fine stop indeed. It's a cozy joint, seems to have regulars that hang around most times. They have a very good selection of brews and some a unique tastes. The bartender was very helpful in guiding us to the brew that suited my tastes. The Lemon Ginger Zinger was my favorite, it had a great bite of ginger at the beginning, finishing smooth with the sweetness of the lemon. This place is a must try! read more

I found this place while looking at the list of bars within the Columbus ale trail. Normally I wouldn't have drove me this far for a brewery ~40 minutes from Columbus, but I was able to make a stop by this place in addition to some others in the area. This place had a really good selection of IPAs and sours, along with a good ambiance both indoors and outdoors. There's usually a food truck next to the building so you're able to bring food here. Double Edge is a new brewery in Lancaster. It definitely needed a brewpub. There was nothing but a few trashy bars and chain restaurants. It doesn't have a large draft list but they are still working on it. They add some more now and then. I had the Golden Ale. It's about $6 for a pint. This is a lager style. It's a pretty easy beer to drink. They have a few other beers that are much more hoppy. It can get pretty busy when there's a game. There was the NFL on and it was pretty hard to get a seat. It's a sign this place is getting popular, so that's a good thing to see, especially for a business around here. This place surely gets crazy when Ohio State plays. It's modern looking even though it looks like an old building. It has some tables if you can't get a seat at the bar. The other cool thing is they make dog treats from the leftover hops so take a bag home for your best friend. read more

Small. Bustling yet intimate. Great Beer. Double Edge was the first brewery to popup in Lancaster. (Besides Rockmill if you consider that Lancaster). Nonetheless, there is a reason they are doing so well. Unlike many craft breweries, Double Edge isn't going to try to wow you with an elaborately modern interior, sleek designs, or flashy extras. They are about brewing quality craft beer and it shows. Don't get me wrong, the interior is nice. The wooden accents mirror that of many craft breweries. The space is clean and fresh. However, it isn't too flashy. They do what they do well. My kind of place. When you walk in, you will be greeted with loud conversations coming from groups of smiling people sitting around tables. The staff is extremely friendly and happy to help you taste/find a beer that suits your palate. Double Edge has played a huge part in the restoration of downtown Lancaster. My bestie and I are marking spots off on the Ale Trail and last weekend we stopped in Double Edge in Lancaster. One of the best beers we had all weekend....Sugar Cookie with a sugared rim! Stopped in as part of the Route 33 Brew Trail. Double Edge is where they give you your brew trail glass once you've collected all of your stamps so it's best to end the trail here. I sat at the bar and enjoyed their golden ale infused with jalapeno, cilantro, and lime (taster $2). You're not gonna burn your mouth with this one, but it still does have a little heat flavor from the jalapeno. Would definitely order it again. I was told by others to try the into orbit and rustic sunrise beers but they weren't really my jam. No issues with service. Like that they offer wifi. Friendly fellow bar patrons. read more

A welcome addition to the Ale Trail! A fairly modern looking brewery, Double Edge has plenty of seating and an open parking lot. They had quite a few beers we wanted to try so we went for a flight. They conveniently provide a flight card for you to write in what beers you want, I like this idea cause then you don't have to quickly pick while the bartender stands over you waiting. Plus you get to keep it so you know which beers are which. The bartenders were super nice and accommodating. They do not have a patio and they do not allow dogs - I guess one of their employees has an allergy. They did have a food truck while we were there, but no menus were out on the bar and when we drove past the food truck on our way out we couldn't even tell what it was, so bad advertising on the food trucks part. Double Edge does put out pretzels on the bars though and there are chips and popcorn available for purchase. read more

Double Edge was pretty good. They have a pretty large beer listing for a smaller brewery which I was impressed by. The patio out front is small but intimate. The inside was full of people when we stopped in. It was neat to stop in to a brewery I had never been to as part of the Ale Trail but it didn't stand out enough for me to come back (part of that is that I live a decent way away from Lancaster). They didn't have any cider which is disappointing as my gf is not really a beer drinker and the staff didn't really seem to have anything to suggest. Most places we have gone that don't have cider will ask if she wants to try some sour or something similar that might give a similar taste but this was just a no with no follow up so that was kind of sad. Due to having nothing for her to drink, I had a beer and we left after 1 beer. The IPA I had was very good though! read more

Walked in about 40 minutes before closing on the way back from Hocking Hills. The atmosphere was welcoming and the brewery was clean. It's definitely a local hang out. We were greeted quickly; however, the female bartender was short and not personable. The sour (Axl Razz) was delicious I would give it a solid five stars but the service aspect was lacking. I guess I expect more from a small brewery. The bartender was more interested in chatting with her regulars than anything. We grabbed beer and merch and tipped well over 20%. My wife and I stopped in one evening after dinner. It was before their grand opening. The inside looks like any other brewery that we have visited. The beers we had didn't have much flavor. I swear that one of them tasted like Bud Light. They only had 6 beers on tap, even though they have 12 taps. They should put some other beers on tap until they have more of their own. We may stop back during the summer to see if things have changed. It is good for Lancaster to have their own brewery, but if we can get better beer at other places like Suzannah's Gallery and Taproom, Ale House and Cherry Street Pub, we will visit those places. read more

I definitely put it above Loose Rail in Canal Winchester and Buckeye Lake Brewery. You are missing out if you haven't been here, yet! There are almost 12 beers on tap now guaranteeing a beer for EVERYONE. There are a ton of food options around but you definitely need to come on a weekend and enjoy a local(ish) food truck. The staff is awesome and considerate. The brewery is also child friendly which is super nice if you'd like to bring your kiddos along. It's wonderful to have a brewery that is close to home. Double Edge Brewing is a great local brewery in Lancaster. It's located right downtown which makes it convenient because most of the restaurants and activities are in or around the downtown area. They usually have around 10-12 beers on tap and have a good variety to choose from. They also usually have foods trucks or you can bring your own foods and snacks. If you check their event calendar you will find they host musicians and other events like trivia night. The only downside is the space is little tight especially when they are busy. If love brewery hoping or just need a beer that's not your normal main streamers then swing by Double Edge and enjoy some good beer. read more

We went on a snow hike in The Hocking Hills yesterday. After our magnificent hike we felt we earned a nice cold beer. We had never been in to Double Edge Brewing before, so we stopped in at opening time. We quickly ordered up 2 flights of beer consisting of 4 beers each. That meant 4 got to try 8 of their beers on tap. One flight we were able to dedicate to their stout choices. I was impressed they had 4 different stouts on tap. The most notable for me was Bennett's Milk Stout (sweet stout). The other flight consisted of the following 4 beers; Brite Side (tangerine wheat), Into Orbit (IPA), The Space Between (copper ale), and Yule Fuel (Christmas Ale). I was completely thrilled with Brite Side. On a warm day while sitting in the suns that beer would hit the spot. Yesterday happened to be a snowy day in the teens so I went with Yule Fuel. They used a sugary mix on the pint glass rim that complemented the beer perfectly. I was so surprised how much I liked this beer since I had not heard about it before. It must be the hidden gem South of Columbus. I will definitely start reeling others about it now though. If you are driving down Route 33 stop in to Double Edge Brewing. read more

I'm new to the area, no cable TV yet, so I stopped in on a Sunday to have a couple of local brews and catch some NFL. I'm a lawnmower beer guy, you know, the kind you drink when you're on the tractor.... THIS was a refreshing change! Excellent guidance from the knowledgeable beer tender, I don't know what I like, but she knew, and provided a sample so I could be sure. Pretzels on the bar- the long stick kind. Also had an excellent, special catered food spread available for $6 that day in lieu of a food truck, what a bargain, gotta hit it up when a food truck is there next! This place is c.l.e.a.n. you could eat off the floor of the front end OR the brewery section, but dont, the tables are just as clean, and there are comfy chairs. Kid-friendly place, board games, books, etc available in the open. I know Trouble is there, someone spilled the box that day! Family owned and operated. Owner was on premises when I was there.
