Visited Homestead Beer Company on a S Saturday afternoon. The brewery is tucked away in an industrial complex near the Boeing building. There is limited seating in the bar, but there were available tables. Bartender was friendly and helpful. I ordered a flight with four beers. My favorite among the four beers was the Hacienda, which is a Mexican Lager. I enjoyed the Tenpenny and the Sun Kissed Wheat Nitro. Beer fans should pay a visit to this brewery. read more

I have stopped in here twice, on two very different occasions, but both on a Sunday. Once by myself because I happened to be in the neighborhood and wanted to see the place, and the second time was with a group celebrating a birthday. Both times were EXCELLENT experiences. I have tried several beers, all of which I've been pleased with. What's better is the people behind the bar. Both times, the bartender has been more than friendly with me and I appreciate good customer service. It makes me feel welcome and want to come back. The first time I sat inside, the second time we sat on the patio. The patio leaves a bit to be desired since it faces their massive parking lot, so not great scenery. But that's forgiven because they do very well with the things they are able to control! I'd recommend doing a flight and sitting at the bar for good conversation. If you have a big group, you'll either need to pull some tables together (the inside is small though) or sit outside. I'd love to try out trivia here sometime. And they just started to build a board game collection, so that's one more reason to come back! read more

Opening of homestead in Marysville! Did not disappoint. Sourdough soft pretzel with Tenpenny German Beer cheese spread and creole mustard, 1/2 pound of flaming honey garlic boneless wing, demon eggs topped with BBQ chip dust and chili crunch aioli, and lastly the New England lobster roll Maine style. AMAZING! You have to visit up stairs for free pinball, board games, and darts. All in a living room style atmosphere. We have young children, it was perfect to entertain and comfortable to feed a bottle on a couch just like home. The staff were all extremely attentive and courteous. New go to spot! read more

Homestyle is a good find if you can find it. If indeed you find it, there's a good selection of craft beers all made in house. The place is small but they manage to have a good variety. It's quiet compared to most bars. Surely because it's way out there. As for the beer, everything I've tried is good. A few of these are IPAs, some of them are wheat ales. The beers are usually about $5 a pint. Among the IPAs, the Galactic Heroes is the best. It's not overly hoppy like many of this variety. Beers here rotate, and the ones in and out of rotation are all listed on the wall behind the bar. I also liked the Sun Kissed Wheat Ale. This was refreshingly cold with a smooth taste. Getting there is the hardest part. It's address is confusing, as it's actually on Airport Road. The brewery is located all the way past the tracks. read more

Stopped here on the Columbus ale trail. The place was smaller than I had expected. I ordered the Pumpkin ale which had a nice touch of pumpkin paired with a sugar rimmed glass. I also got the peachy wheat which had a nice hint of peach. There wasn't too many beers on tap. The bar was very small. read more

Not my first time at this location. This one is smaller than the other, I believe. Snake oil is my go to when at Homestead. The have added some couches and a TV to the outer portion of the brewery. Perfect to watch the game. There is also a nice patio area with a fire pit, perfect for those chilly nights. The service has always been top notch here. One of the affiliates, Joe, comes out to our local carry out from time to time. We've been enjoying Homestead's local brews for a couple years now, and finally visited the brewery for its 6th anniversary party last night. Located right next to the Newark-Heath airport, you will find a quaint little building that is the Homestead. There are several tables in the taproom, and additional seating at the bar. They have 8 beers on tap, and their prices can't be beat. $4-5 for a pint, $9-10 for a growler to go. I'm a fan of IPAs so I stuck with the Wandering Yeti. It's a hazy IPA with strong hints of grapefruit and citrus. It was probably more crowded than usual because of the celebration, but that's a great thing! We were able to find a four seater table, which we later shared with a very nice couple who also traveled from Westerville! Small world. There were several live bands who played, and they were set up in the actual brewery part--standing room only. Restrooms are unisex, but they are clean. We ended up purchasing a couple T-shirt's and a bottle of Phantom Cowboy (10.7% ABV) Barrel Aged Milk Stout. Can't wait to crack that puppy open! We will definitely be back! read more

One of the finest breweries I've visited and I've visited many. The location isn't easy to find as it's a bit off the main road but as long as you see the Boeing building you've made it. The beer here is very tasty, especially the super pale ale, which is a first so be named, as well as their IPAs. The staff is awesome especially the friendly woman working this evening. The prices are less expensive than most other breweries which is a pleasant surprise. The only thing is I wish I lived closer to here. This is a MUST for any beer aficionado! A cozy, clean brewery with excellent beer and friendly staff. It's cool that you walk through their actual brewing facilitate to get to the bathroom. We tried the flight of 8 that let us sample all of their beers, and there's not one we didn't like. They have a great IPA, the snake oil, and their growlers are really reasonably priced. Not only will I be back, I'll be looking for their beer on tap at other bars. read more

I love Homestead! I have been here multiple times. They have a small cute little taproom and a very nice sized outside area. Unfortunately, it was a bit chilly when we went so did not get to sit outside but I love the beer here. Just wish it was closer to me and didn't require a trip all the way across town to visit. Was hoping for being November that they would have more stouts on tap but the NE IPA I had was delicious! Never had a beer here that I didn't enjoy and I think I try a new beer every time I go. We've visited Homestead several times during Ale Trail stops. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but everyone is incredibly friendly, you're likely to make a new friend at the bar. Their patio is great and they are dog friendly. We have yet to stop by when they have a good truck, but they do have the schedule posted. It's a cozy location, but honestly I'm not a huge fan of their beer. They have a wide selection, but they seem to be lacking in lighter beers and they do not offer any ciders. read more

Homestead was a blast! We met three other people doing the Columbus Ale Trail, which was fun as we got to chat about our experience! I really enjoyed all the drafts. We tried all 8 of the beers they offered. I'm just starting to get a taste for IPA's and this place had several great ones (galactic and snake oil were great) They have a food truck. This place was a little confusing to get to, go to the second entrance as the first has a gate that is closed. It's on the Boeing property near the railroad tracks. This is my personal favorite Columbus Area brewery, and yes, I have done the entire Columbus Ale Trail. I first discovered them at my local takeout shop. We often drive the almost an hour drive to get beer at the brewery. I have never been disappointed with the beer or the service. Last trip I tried the Bimini Road Double IPA. I HATE IPA. But I really enjoyed the fruity Bimini Road. I tried a sample, and I had to have a whole glass. Their Pilsner is the textbook definition of beer. One of my favorites. Once my usual shop was out of the Pilsner. I FB messaged them and asked where else I could find it. They responded almost immediately and brought more Pilsner up the next day. Part micro establishment part 'some dudes garage', you will not find a more welcoming place in this increasingly pretentious entertainment space. The beer is genuine and excellent. It is produced by men who care for it like their own children. The brewmaster and his assistants can often be seen racing around the building- their darting glares remind one of the look you might receive if you asked an open heart surgeon for the time, three hours into a procedure. The recipes will look familiar, amber ale, IPA, summer wheat. But upon further inspection you will find mysterious peaks and valleys within each sip. It is a pint full of Christmas cheer. A local sidled up at the bar struck up a conversation with me when he noticed I was trying the Merry Tannenbaum. He kindly suggested that if I liked the Tannenbaum then I should try it half and half with their Mocha Porter called Ulysses. I waved the bartender over and she was quick to mix up my half and half pint. The regular patron was right on, it was a perfect pint for the cold wintery evening. I was impressed. They had a food cart outside if you had the munchies. And they had the video game Galaga that was free to play. We struck up multiple conversations with the locals. It was such a nice visit. If you feel like your GPS has led you astray, you're in the right place. Well almost. My GPS took me to a restricted Boeing entrance but if you drive a little further down the road you will find a second Boeing entrance off Irving Wick and you'll find a road running parallel with the railroad tracks that leads to Homestead Beer. You can also call for help, they are super friendly. I've only been twice and it's a 50/50 shot thus far if they have a food truck (granted they do have a schedule if you are on top of things). Great dog-friendly patio and indoor seating both at the bar and inside the brewery. As for the beer, there is a limited selection but I like what I've had. read more

You will feel like you are going into a restricted area when getting to the brewery. You will see the brewery sign once you turn off the main road. We visited Homestead on a Saturday afternoon in pursuit of the Columbus Ale Trail. I had tried the Amber Ale at a restaurant prior to this visit and thought it was okay. The tap room was packed and there was a line at the bar to order but the bar tendeder was quick. He let me try the Pilsner and I ordered a pint. The Pilsner and Amber Ale are the only beers under ~60 IBUs, so my options were limited. My husband ordered the Pale Ale which was very better and 'just okay' in his opinion. Once he handed us the beers and asked for our name to start a tab, there was no communication from the bar tender. I expected him to take our card or stamp my Ale Trail books laying out on the counter but he did not acknowledge me. Turns out, you provide your card before you leave and then he finally stamped my passport. I do not think Homestead is a destination for beer drinkers. They have a limited scope of beers that do not appeal to a wide audience, a small taproom, and are difficult to get to. The GPS will try to take you through the Boeing parking lot but the exits to James Rd were all locked. The only way to ensure you can access the brewery is through the main entrance of Boeing off Irving Wick. read more

I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews. We got here at 2:45 on a Saturday and the parking lot was mostly empty- we thought this must be an unpopular spot... And then we realized it opens at 3. By the time it opened there was a lively crowd and a few folks waiting to fill growlers. Great beers, the kind of brewery where the beers actually taste different from each other (you know what I mean, some places they all taste the same). Good service, nice shady outdoor area. Looks like there are food trucks sometimes. Note: hard to find!!! You have to drive like you're going in to Boeing it feels like you're in a restricted area. This is one of the best places for local beer around. I lived in Cleveland the last two years and the beer here is as good as any of the brewery's in the Cleveland area.
