We were at Hocking Hills with friends for the Memorial Day weekend and stopped by at 58 West to grab some lunch. Not realizing that outside was covered patio we first opted to sit inside but then we noticed the covered patio and requested to be seated outside and thanks to our lucky stars, the hostess obliged and we got seated outside in the covered patio to enjoy the perfect Memorial weekend weather. We ordered some drinks (not pictured) - I ordered an Espresso Martini while husband ordered a beer, friends ordered a couple of other drinks - a berry smash, a Sauvignon and more beer for the guys. The cocktails were amazing and delicious. We ordered a couple of shareables (Tirokafteri and Colcannon Cakes) as well which were both of course were so scrumptious that we forgot to click pics! So I made sure I clicked pics of as many mains/ entrees I could. A friend and I, ordered fried chicken sandwiches (his with fries, mine with chips, I also asked my brioche be subbed with Sourdough which both our waitress and chef were kind enough to comply), husband ordered a 58 burger, another friend ordered the Italian Chicken flatbread and another ordered a Portobello entree with a side of Caprese salad (added grilled Chicken). The fried chicken was ok, I've had better ones and unfortunately for me it gave me a bad tum as I spent the rest of the day feeling queasy. The husband said his burger was amazing, the flatbread, portobello and caprese were all absolutely delectable. We don't have a lot of experience with dining in Logan, and 58 West seemed to have a great menu and was well rated for our one dinner while stopping in town. We ordered two drinks, a Moscow mule and N/A beer; the cashew queso, the deconstructed chicken cordon bleu, and the brisket mac and cheese. Drinks were great. The queso was super thick and more like a black bean dip, so that didn't hit right. Dinner arrived and looked great, but the chicken was bland and really just felt like a chunk of meat to get through. The mac and cheese was OK, but be aware it is covered in a sweet BBQ sauce and is more of a braised brisket than smoked BBQ. Our server was great, and the atmosphere was great. But all of that above decent at best food came to a total of around $100 (just about $30 per entree) for a party of two. My wife and I go about once a year for a meal that expensive and it is not for the quality of food we spent at 58 West. I'd say 58W needs to either lower their prices or the consumer needs to lower their expectations and head somewhere else. read more

What's not to like?! We stopped in at the recommendation of a family member after hiking Old Man's Cave. The dining room is spacious and they have outside seating. Plenty of parking is available. We were staying at Campbell Cove Campground in Hocking Hills and wanted to find a nicer spot for dinner one evening. After a little searching we decided on 58 West. We called ahead for reservations but they were booked online until 8:45, so we headed over anyways and added our names to the waitlist. We grabbed a glass of wine at the bar while we waited. Our wait was about 45 minutes which went by quickly. We opted to sit outside since it was such a beautiful evening which added a little extra time but was well worth it. Our server was attentive, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. She recommended a different dish to one member of our group and it ended up being an excellent suggestion. For appetizers we ordered the Pig Goat and Mushroom Skins and Colcannon Cakes. Each of them was phenomenal. For our entrees we chose the specials including the Fish Tacos and the Buffalo Chicken Risotto, both of which were outstanding. Another member of our group ordered the pork chop and couldn't stop talking about how good it was. The atmosphere was fantastic with live music. Our crew of 9 spent the weekend at Hocking Hills and we were hoping to hit up a local brewery. We lucked out with 58 West! In the small unassuming town of Logan, OH, sits this lovely restaurant that is winery, brewery AND distillery! There was something for everyone. It helps that it was a gorgeous day, so we got to enjoy their giant outdoor space. We were seated so quickly, and their cauliflower crust flatbread was excellent. You will have to try to sweet potato fries with the delicious cream cheese dip. Pairs well with the maple beer. read more

We stopped in after a morning of hiking looking for a late lunch and drinks. We had a fantastic experience, with great service and really good food! We ordered the charcuterie board and cocktails/local brews right away. That board was huge and pretty amazing with kiwi-an unusual charcuterie ingredient but delicious! With the huge board we then opted to split a salad that they split into separate bowls for us. We were stuffed and had to sadly pass on dessert. Great atmosphere with inside seating for those who want climate control and a large covered patio with fans and heat if needed for more of a sports bar feel. The hostess didn't want to be there, but our server was great! Food was excellent and the drinks were spot on. You can look through the distillery in a self paced way and even do a tasting of their spirits. Their flatbreads were great and their sandwiches were excellent too. I was celebrating my birthday and saw that this fine dining restaurant was close by. We were greeted at the door by the manger and immediately taken to our table. Our serger was so very kind and helpful. She went over and beyond to make sure I had an amazing birthday! I bought a rose lake blush bottle of wine based off of the amazing fruity notes that I tried during my tasting. The restaurant is beautiful inside with smiling faces to greet you. Great food recipes, taste, however to cooks need better training eg not to overcook food, and the management needs more training so 1) the food comes out about the same time for a given table so no dish is cold, and 2) your waitress visits your table more ofter, eg for drink and water refills. read more

Had these amazing pork belly tacos... had a citrusy beer, sat on a very nice patio. Had some tvs outside to watch the game by also. Companion had fried green tomatoes with elote. Unique bites! Also got a pineapple jalepeno margarita- tasty also. read more

We actually had dinner here two days in a row as there weren't too many good restaurants in the area. I highly recommend this restaurant and brewery. I had the tomahawk pork chop one day and the jambalaya the next. My husband had the scallop risotto one day and the salmon the next. We both enjoyed our dinners very much. The service was very good also. The ambiance was casual and relaxed and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner together both nights. read more

We stopped in for lunch and were turned away for having a larger group (six adults and six kids). The restaurant was no where near full and the staff at the front was extremely rude about us not having a reservation. I have never experienced anything like it. Awesome surprise in Logan. Super nice patio, charming old industrial building with high ceilings. Decent service, although it took a while to get drinks from the bar. We were having a drink and an app. Fried green tomato's were the choice here. Super light and crispy coating on the tomatoes. A corn base salsa spooned on top with cheese and avocado slices. My Mr and I wanted to dine one night in Hocking Hills. We were trying to look for a unique place that served wine and beer. We didn't want your basic pub and grub. We wanted American fusion. I am glad that we stumbled on this place. They had really good reviews both google and Yelp that we had to check them out. Nestled in downtown Hocking Hills. The inside is very spacious and had an inviting vibe. They were super busy but we were seated right away. This place has it all. Collaboration from Hocking Hills winery and brewery. In the back is also Motherwell distilling if you want to check them out and purchase their spirits which my Mr did after we ate. Their menu is simple yet it was hard to choose because they all looked good. They have appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts. We ordered: Drinks: -Bottle of Hocking Hills Winery Pinot noir Appetizer: -Balsamic blue flatbread- blueberries, goat cheese, prosciutto, and red onion with fresh basil and balsamic drizzle Dinner: -Sea scallops- pan seared Japanese scallops served over berry coulis, topped with house made cranberry bacon apple chutney, fresh microgreens, and a hint of lemon zest -Blackened salmon- blackened salmon filet served over green beans and pesto risotto finished with salmon roe Dessert: -Ricotta and pistachio cake It wasn't long and our flatbread was amazing! I loved the pairing of the blueberries with the balsamic, onions and goat cheese and prosciutto. Our dinner were both specials. So glad I got the scallops, the chutney was well balanced and had great flavor. My Mr really enjoyed his salmon. Both meals paired well with the wine. Our server was Anyx. She was down to earth and attentive. Also, we loved that the chef checked up on us. I was happy to tell him how much we enjoyed our meals. Since we enjoyed the wine, We took home a bottle of their Zinfandel and Pinot noir. I wish we had this restaurant in Cincinnati. It was such a great experience. A bit pricey for the quality of food imo. Cool venue and service was friendly but out of the 4 orders of food, 3 were cold.

The food was good. I got a burger which was delicious, very good. Flavorful cooked well and looked phenomenal as well. The fries were gross, basically inedible. But I didn't come for the fries. I also got a flight of beer which was very good. I got a sweet tea which was a bit too sweet but still good. The service was good once I was seated. The part that knocked it down for me was when I showed up I asked for a table for three. There were at least seven tables and two small booths that were unoccupied and had silverware in towels prepared for seating. They made us wait for an hour. We kept checking back in and the same tables inside and out were untouched and available. After the hour of waiting they sat us right at one of the open booths that had been open since we arrived. I tried calling many times (at least five) before I made my way to see if I could put in a reservation but no one answered the phone. Everything was good other than that. I don't think I'll go out of my way to come back but if I'm in the area I wouldn't mind trying again. read more

Overall a good experience tonight. I didn't have high hopes for the craft beer, local wines or the local distillery offerings so I really wasn't disappointed. (Not so hot.) The food choices were somewhat limited although my wife and I were quite happy with what we got. The menu is a step up compared to many of the other local restaurants that seem to specialize in all things fried. Service was good, quick and friendly. Outdoor seating was nice although April in mid Ohio can be borderline between nice and a bit chilly - Summer months would be ideal. We'll probably hit it again tomorrow PM as it's just a step up from the rest of Logan's offerings. read more

Food - was decent and flavorful. Sides were absolutely overcooked perhaps several hours old. Green beans were terrible. Service - an absolute gas lighting experience. Very friendly but couldn't remember drink orders and struggled to get us food for nearly 1hr and 37min. Wife and daughter had to re-ask 3 times for their non-alcoholic drinks. Forgot to bring my soup only later to tell me they didn't have it; when my shrimp Alfredo arrived. She was great at filling water. My daughter's order was incorrect and rather than getting her the correct item; we were told "I put it in that way" as she left the table. Ambience - you will be segregated into one of two parties unless you specify where you want to sit. Well dressed will be indoors and near the sidewalk if you request outdoors. Anyone dressed okay to comfortable will be sat outdoors in the rear. The live music was nice. Restaurant- has an indoor bar which we did not sit at. The self guided wine/brewery/distillery was meh. Only the distillery was open. Edit - from 2 to 4 stars - manager was very receptive to feedback and went well above and beyond to make it right. Had reservations and when we entered the hostess was less than friendly but seated us out on the patio. No greeting or anything just "do you have a reservation". Got seated and after a few minutes our waitress took our drink order and we went ahead and ordered an appetizer. After 20+ minutes still no appetizer. We flagged the waitress down and asked to order our entrees assuming that it would take 20-30 minutes to get as well. As we were ordering we finally got our Buffalo chicken dip. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan only to be told they didn't have it because the prep crew didn't make any that day. That is information we should have been told 30 minutes earlier. Wife chose another entree and we proceeded to eat our appetizer. 10 minutes later we get my Jambalaya and wife gets her Fish and chips. All food was good except the "58 tartar" sauce. For some reason businesses think they need to reinvent condiments. Anyway asked the waitress if they had normal tartar sauce and she said no, they only have this specific style. Moved on, had our dessert and enjoyed the evening celebrating our 26th anniversary. Party of four on a very busy Friday night: bridal party, bikers, couples, families. Great vibe! No resy, so waited maybe 20 minutes to get a table. In the meantime, checked out the distillery and sampled a great rye whiskey! Very smooth. Got seated. Chloe was our server and was fast at drinks. I'm went with a flight of the amber, the lager, the kolsch, and the brown. That's my order of favorites. Amber was the star. Appetizer of pretzel sticks took much longer than it should have but the main course came out right as we finished up the sticks. Sticks were okay. Cheese could have been warmer and thicker. Three of us got the burger and one of us got the chicken parmigiana. Very good burger cooked to your specs (med well here). Nice, thick bacon comes on it as well as the garden. Really a well done sandwich. Sweet potato fries were average at best. Chicken parmigiana was a disappointment but that's not usually in a breweries wheelhouse. We had a hiccup when we asked for ketchup for the sweet potato fries and never got it. So, five stars to Chloe. Three stars for the kitchen. Five stars to the bar staff. 3.5 stars for the food. The service, ambiance, and food here were all top notch! The scallops and risotto were cooked just right. The risotto was had some cheese, but did not seem too decadent. The bacon and fruit on top of the scallops gave great texture and taste to the bite. The green beans were cooked just right, and the portions had enough to leave us full. Will come back next time we are in the area. There is a self guided tour in the back and you also try some of their spirits. An amazing place in Logan. 20 minutes drive from the hocking hills park. Totally worth it. The staff are super friendly and polite (Bryan was awesome). Both our dishes were spectacular. Pasta had so much flavor and the chicken burger was perfect. I got the coffee porter-really loved it. Wife got the pink moscato and it was great. Ambiance and as very good. This was one of those Yelp finds that makes me glad that I'm on Yelp. My lady and I were in the area on a weekend getaway and wanted a great place to eat on the night we arrived and 58 West definitely filled that criteria. Excellent food, tremendous service, tasty libations, and a unique laid back atmosphere. We went on a Friday evening, and though they were really busy, we were still sat right away. The building definitely has a historic feel to it and plenty of comfortable seating. There's also a brewery and distillery on site and to can have a self-guided tour to see them. Our server, Anyx, was super friendly and welcoming. She also gave us some great recommendations on the menu. Their food menu is loaded with a variety of options and not just your standard pub grub. Their libations menu is very nice too and features wines in collaboration with Hocking Hills Winery. Their pinot noir was very tasty, so we enjoyed a bottle, and started with the balsamic blue flatbread. The blueberries, prosciutto, and goat cheese went together so very well. Definitely one of the best flatbreads we've ever had. For our mains, my lady had the sea scallops, and I had the blackened salmon, both from the monthly specials menu. Both dishes were amazing! Everything went together so incredibly well. We even got to meet the head chef and we absolutely gave him our compliments. After we were done, we didn't think we had room for dessert, but Anyx convinced us to get it to go, so we got the ricotta and pistachio cake. Of course, it was really good too. Not too heavy and just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely glad we found this spot. It has so much to offer and not just to enjoy on premise. You can even by bottles of wine and spirits and beer in growlers to take with you. We bought a bottle of pinot noir, a bottle of zinfandel, and a bottle of rye whiskey. I'm so happy that this place is a dog-friendly location. Please note they do ask that you use the outside entrance if there's a large crowd inside due to no pets inside, but if there are less people they will allow you to walk through. Customer service was super friendly and helpful for me because I called beforehand since the previous place I tried was not helpful. They changed my mind about this area and I'm glad I was able to support this location - The food was very tasty and I did not have any doggie bag to take home but I did grab two wine bottles. Would I come back here? I would say yes! Side note... There's a distillery along with here and I did not get to try. Happy eating and drinking! read more

The Food was JUST OK however overpriced. Service was good. Ambiance was OK. We will not go back because the Distillery the product was OK and presentation was poor. The beer was watery and not very good. Hocking Hills Moonshine is just up the street and a GREAT option with any other restaurant in Logan has better food at a better price than 58 west. read more

Dinner at 58 West in Logan, Ohio tonight! Nice upscale atmosphere and great indoor and outdoor seating available. However, the acoustics were terrible and it was extremely noisy inside. Our server was super friendly and the food came out really quickly. I had the Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad with a Blackberry Mule. The salad lacked in toppings but was good. My husband had the shrimp and grits. He was not pleased with having to pull the tails off the shrimp and thought the portion was small for the price. We wanted to love this place but it just missed the mark for us in too many areas. read more

Service was fast and friendly and food was decent. 1. App- Hot Honey BBQ pork chips, serving was enormous good for 5 people at least. It is a plateful of chips mixed with BBQ pork tips smothered in cheese. 2. Mains - Lake Erie Perch was salty and fish was kinda.. fishy 3. Pear and Pomegranate Nut Salad was good, light and refreshing. I added a salmon for protein but that was ok. Tasted a little fishy as well I didn't get to finish. 4. We hosted a wedding rehearsal dinner at 58 West this past weekend. I want to give a HUGE shout out to Alex and his crew at this wonderful restaurant! Alex was so easy to work with, from planning the menu, responding to my many questions leading up to this special dinner and most importantly, the delicious food. We came here Labor Day weekend for an early dinner. It was amazing! For an appetizer we had the charcuterie board. It was fun with the pretzel and yummy! I had a beer flight and my husband had a cocktail. Both were great. For entrees we had the scallops with risotto and the pork tomahawk. Both were delicious. The scallops were a bit over cooked but still great. The pork was flavorful and juicy. My husband had the cheesecake for dessert and I had some coffee. Both were good. Service was excellent. We had Chloie as a waitress and she was kind, helpful, attentive and wonderful. When we come back we will ask for her!
