This was even before we ate the fish platters and after tasting the deliciousness we are stopping here whenever we travel through the area. It was worth the short drive off of I70 and I love the decor besides the friendly people here. I talked more with Lisa the owner, when she came out to our table to visit and wish us safe travels home. The place is named after her husband but she makes the food. The hush puppies are her own batter and so are the sauces.

Very meaty flapper's and drumsticks . I split fried clams and hush puppies with my friend and she also thought they were delicious and she also ordered the fish sandwich and enjoyed it too. On a positive note, the place is beautiful. Inside spacious, bright and tastefully decorated. Outside there is plenty of seating with heating lamps and colorful umbrellas. But the view is lacking. Situated in a developing area. The food was better than average. We prdered a giant pretzel, French dip and chicken sandwiches. All very good and plentiful. Service was friendly and attentive. Was a small crowd on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. I was told that wasn't unusual. Seems like folks are missing out.

Cons: The fish in the fish n chips had the skin on it, service was SLOW, sign said please wait to be seated and someone approached and was a little rude asking what we needed lol, this is more restaurant vibes and not brewery vibes (like Seventh Son or Land Grant). While visiting Hilliard from Texas for work, I wanted to experience how other states do barbecue,…read moreso I decided to try Smoke Licked Barbecue. First impressions were great. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. They even allowed me to sample a few items before ordering, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I arrived just before 5 PM and they were already out of ribs, which was disappointing. I ordered the brisket, pulled pork tacos, street corn, and coleslaw. The brisket was very tender and moist, but I felt it could have used a little more seasoning. The pulled pork tacos had excellent texture and were enjoyable to eat, but the flavor was mild enough that, if I'd closed my eyes, I'm not sure I would have identified it as pulled pork. The coleslaw was also a bit lackluster for my taste and could have benefited from more seasoning. The standout side for me was the smoked street corn, which was flavorful and easily one my favorite parts of the meal. Overall, the service and cleanliness were excellent, and the food quality was solid. I just personally prefer a bolder, more seasoned barbecue flavor profile.

Turns out we were apparently sitting in the wrong part of the restaurant because we didn't realize until we were LEAVING that there's a whole outdoor area that looked awesome. Lesson learned. Now, onto the important stuff: buffalo chicken wontons = MUST ORDER. Seriously, don't overthink this one. We also tried the pickle spears and pierogis, both solid 4/5. Pepperoni pizza was a 5/5 and definitely understood the assignment. The traditional Philly, however, was a 2/5. The meat was pretty lacking in flavor. I should've trusted my gut and ordered the Third Base Philly instead. My gut knew. I ignored it. My gut was right. Maybe next time. Washed it all down with a strawberry kiwi sour, 4/5 and very drinkable. Our server was super nice and attentive, so no complaints there. Overall, definitely a sports bar vibe. The outside area looked WAY more fun than the inside, but now that we know it exists, we'll actually make it outside next time.

Amazinggggggg food! I went back TWO DAYS IN A ROW, so that should tell you everything …read more First trip: two orange roughy meals. Each meal came with two pieces of fish and fries for $15, and I added four slices of white bread for $2 total. When I opened the container I was immediately impressed. The portions are GREAT, especially for that price. Honestly, they could raise the price a couple dollars and I wouldn't complain. Now let's talk about this orange roughy because this was my first time ever having it. Where has this fish been?! The best way I can describe orange roughy is if cod and mahi mahi had a baby. It has that flaky white fish texture but still has some substance to it. It is now officially my go-to when I want fried fish. More importantly, L.B.'s knows how to fry some fish. Cornmeal breading is a MUST for me, and theirs was exactly what I want. Crispy, seasoned, fresh and fried to perfection. Not greasy, not buried under a ton of breading and definitely not bland. They even got the details right: white bread, Heinz ketchup AND Frank's RedHot packets. You'd be surprised how many places mess up the easy stuff. The food was so good that two days later I was right back at that truck. This time I tried the $17 fried red snapper sandwich. The snapper was also seasoned amazingly and the piece of fish was HUGE. Between the two fish though, orange roughy wins for me. No question. I have one suggestion for the sandwich. If you're going to call it a fish sandwich, give me the full sandwich experience! Lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, something. The fish is also way too big for that beautiful bun . I'd cut the fillet in half or arrange it differently so you can actually eat the fish and bread together instead of fighting with it. Now my REAL issue with L.B.'s...These hours! They are entirely too short for food this good. I genuinely think they're missing their calling being in Gahanna with limited hours. They need to take that truck into the Short North or somewhere central on Friday and Saturday nights and stay open later. You have people leaving bars, events and everything else looking for exactly this kind of food, and they're missing out on the good stuff! 4.84/5. The presentation? Amazing. The portions? Amazing. The price? Can't beat it. The seasoning? Amazing. The fry? EXACTLY how I want fried fish. The only things keeping me from a straight 5 are the limited hours and the sandwich needing a little work. But considering I went back two days in a row, clearly neither one is stopping me. Orange roughy, I owe you an apology for taking this long to find you.
