The hot tub

O/10 would not recommend - Dove cabin Disappointed is an understatement. The day of reservation we got there, unpacked and headed out for a hike! We went to the brewery in town and also got dinner and arrive back to the cabin around 8pm to get settled in and spend the night relaxing in the hot tub. When we got back, we got in the fridge to find our drinks and everything in the fridge not cold. We went to turn on the hot tub to find these 2 holes on the top filled with a disgusting substance. (Pictured below.) The heat indicator on the hot tub was rising but the water stayed lukewarm. When we went to sit on the futon we saw sweat stains and a cigarette burn (pictured below) and at that point I didn't feel comfortable there, especially during a pandemic. It was my birthday weekend and I didn't want to spend it grossed out worried about what else could be wrong with the cabin. We made the decision at 9pm to pack up and head back to Columbus. I was so sad because I was stoked for this getaway. I emailed good earth cabin as soon as we left to let them know our experience and tell them we wanted our money back. They took 2 days to respond and I only received an email after my boyfriend called and left a voicemail. They told me they went in on Saturday and cleaned up the issues we were having, wish we called before leaving, didn't think we gave the cabin a chance and could only give us 1 night refund. I emailed back explaining more details and why needed a full refund and never heard back. My boyfriend tried calling and left voicemails and they never returned our calls. I emailed again, still haven't heard anything. They only refunded us for 1 night, I only know this bc of my bank statements. I've stayed in plenty of cabins and have never had an experience like this.

Was never mentioned. Had to make trip to laundromat...

I have stayed at MANY cabins in Hocking Hills, and this place is the WORST yet. Upon making my reservation, I called because it says you wont get the 4 night discount booking online. The lady who answered was rushed and said she had cleaners coming in so could she call me back? Ok :/ i guess (shouldn't a customer come before your cleaners?) She did call me promptly back, asking me to reserve online, because basically she's too busy to do it over the phone. I agreed but mentioned the 4 night discount, she tried to say because its a holiday weekend it didn't apply... website doesn't say this. In the end i booked it online, they did give me the 10% discount. Upon entering the M'Hollow cabin, spider webs inside that was head level. Dirty dishes in the clean cubbords. Dirty outdoor furniture. Dead, decaying animals all over the yard. Vultures tearing them up during the day. Some weird pollen looking substance and dirty water in the hot tub. When outside, the smell of dead animals was strong so it was unpleasant. Beams falling off the ceiling, outlets dont work, so cheaply thrown together, you can see inside the walls, some showing wires and insulation, some you can see the light from the adjoining room. Washer not working, but this was never mentioned or was never offered an additional discount and was a reason i chose this particular cabin. Had to make a trip to laundromat as i packed as tho I'd have an available washer and dryer. The bathtub is simply unsafe to get in and out of. I'm sure I am missing something, but you get the point by now. There was no pen to write in the guest book, and many pages were missing... wonder why. Cons: MANY Pros: bed was comfortable and clean and with so many cabins, there was availability on a busy holiday weekend.

As others have stated what they advertise online is NOT what you get. They will not give you directions or the address of the cabin until 2 days before your stay. It would be nice to know where in the area the cabin is. We stayed at the Buckstone. Was this place ok yes but absolutely not for the price. They make you drive 25 min. out of the way to check in and then back track down the very curvy roads to the cabin. If you have people who get car sick this is just awful. They do not actually describe the cabin or the location. We chose this cabin because my g/f is on crutches and we needed a first floor bedroom and bathroom. What they failed to mention is there are 2 large steps up to the shower. Also there is a bedroom on the 3 floor with no a/c. So if you plan to stay up there beware. It was extremely hot. The bathtub was dirty when we arrived. Our sheets had stains on them and were pilled. There are no pans to cook in the oven. Only a few pots for the stove. While they do mention they only provide the towels and toilet paper necessary it was ridiculous. 1 roll per bathroom. Because most people want to travel with toilet paper. Also we were given 2 towels but 1 washcloth and 1 hand towl. Wasn't to excited about having to share a wash rag. The hot tub control panel is all busted up and you can either have the jets on by your back or your legs but not both on at the same time. And you have to hold down the button for a while before the jets start anyways. The neighbor stopped by to remind us not to block their drive way. which we were not doing. Cabin is right off of the road and there is a lot of traffic noise. It's a drive to most of the attractions in the area which of course they do not let you know until you are there. I will not stay here again. Very disappointed with the cleanses and lack of items that you need in the cabin.

Our first trip to Hocking Hills and we choose to stay with Good Earth Cabins at the Lakefront Oasis. What a perfect choice! The cabin was spotless and well equipped with the necessities. We took our son and 2 of his friends. They had a good time fishing off the private pier and relaxing in the Jacuzzi! We will go back to this lovely cabin! Thank you for the hospitality Fonda! You will be highly recommended!!

The contact free check in went great and we found our Ponderosa cabin easily enough with the directions they left me.

Mixed Experience at Hemlock Treehouse - Stunning but Poorly Prepared for Winter…read more Hemlock Treehouse is a beautiful and unique getaway, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by poor winter preparedness and unexpected costs. While the treehouse itself was stunning, safety concerns made our stay challenging. There were no railings by the hot tub, which caused me to lose balance and fall--especially concerning in icy conditions. I slipped again on the untreated driveway the following day, as no salt had been put down. Despite reaching out multiple times with concerns about the weather, we were not allowed to cancel or reschedule. Despite our warnings, it was disappointing that no effort was made to prepare the property for winter conditions. Additionally, the pricing structure felt misleading. Beyond the daily rate, we were charged at least $200 in additional fees, including cleaning charges and insurance, despite leaving the space clean and causing no damage. We also incurred nearly $100 in taxes, bringing our one-night stay to around $850. There was no mention of a deposit beforehand, so I strongly recommend clarifying all fees before booking. Another concern was the lack of attention to detail. Upon arrival, we found a welcome sign with someone else's name, initially making us worry that the treehouse had been double-booked--an unsettling experience on our honeymoon. While it was a mistake, it indicated that our arrival had not been adequately prepared for. To add to this, the sheets had a noticeable stain, further diminishing the experience. While the location and ambiance were superb, the lack of winter preparedness and the high costs made for a frustrating experience. If you're considering a stay here in the colder months, be prepared for unsafe conditions and additional expenses. Would I return? Maybe in better weather--but certainly not in winter. Update: yep, I'm pretty sure I broke my elbow. Still hurts the same when pressure is applied to the location of the injury. Off to the doctor to verify after work.

The cabin was fairly secluded, but not too far from shopping... It's in a back road, and though there were some other dwellings nearby, we never felt intruded upon or otherwise near anyone else (note: we were there in late winter, so the trees were bare... In the late spring/summer/fall, this wouldn't be a factor). The cabin itself was FLAWLESSLY maintained and equipped... We had plenty of firewood, propane, toilet paper, dishes, utensils, etc. Everything was clean and in it's place... The kitchen, bathroom, outdoor propane grill, and hot tub were immaculate... Decor was just what it should be; log cabin charming... Our cell phones had no service, but internet and satellite TV worked reliably... Even had a blue-ray player and a small but adequate sound-system that we could hear on the back porch while having a romantic dinner al fresco... Clean and functional bathroom with shower, bath, modern toilet, large capacity hot water tank, first aid kit, plunger, vacuum, etc... Seriously, better equipped than even your better motor lodges.. There are even some personal touches/fun games that the proprietors play with their guests, if you wish to participate (Just make sure to read the guest book/literature that is left for you!) :-) A day spa, this is not.. But for a TRUE quaint, "home-away-from-home," it is... We WILL be back, and WILL recommend to friends... Well done!!!

Would not stay here again…read more When we arrived the hot tub was open. I am assuming it was open for at least a week, as that was the last time they had a booking. Strong winds caused us to be without power for almost 24 hours. Company suggestion was for us to checkout (with no refund). I was told a manager / owner would contact me the following Monday which never happened. No refund given. Lots of trash on-site that needs to be picked up as well. Looks like guests are just throwing things off the deck.

Newer LG appliances (filtered water & ice maker in the fridge was a plus), cool bathroom, cozy oversized chair, great fireplace on rear covered deck and amazing rockers w/cup holders on front and rear porches. Now upon opening the door, the first thing I said was, "WOW! That's a weird smell." Unfortunately, we were smelling sewer smells the entire time we were there. I contacted the email from the site the first night and they responded the next day. While I was in the bathroom tub (shades open) a gentleman put his ladder on the side of the bathroom window and started climbing up, while someone chatted with my husband at the door. Needless to say I was mortified and embarrassed that we weren't initially made aware that someone was coming until after they had arrived. The person climbing the ladder definitely got an eye full.....Anyway, they said the vent pipes weren't removed once the cabins construction was done and the traps may have gotten dry. We heard them sawing something & then they left soon after. We ran water, as instructed after they cut the tops off the pipes and were advised Joey would be back with a top to cover another pipe on the roof. The smell initially got a little better, but within a couple hours it was back full force. We again contacted Rob again, who sent Joey back out to address the issue. This time, he put bleach down the drains, gave a can of fabreeze, a pumpkin candle and 2 renuzit toilet scents. Now, we had been burning candles in all the rooms from the moment we arrived and kept the front & rear doors open to try and air out the smell. NONE of that helped. It even began to stink outside, so no handing out on the front or rear porch unless we needed cell signal. So although the thought was nice, 1 single wick candle, 1 can of fabreeze and some toilet scents were NOT going to cut it. The smell was not as strong after the bleach, but never did go away. In fact, when we ran the dishwasher before leaving, the smell returned full force throughout the cabin, especially in the bathroom and rear porch area. THE SMELL ALONE RUINED OUR ATTEMPTED ROMANTIC GETAWAY. While I appreciate them trying to solve this issue, there wasn't any follow-up to confirm resolution. I had to keep updating Rob. At least Rob did say he was "sorry it's doing what it's doing" regarding the odor. Honestly, I cannot begin to explain to you how utterly disgusting it is to constantly smell sewage inside and in the immediate surrounding exterior of one's "luxury retreat." Not once in the decade plus of coming to HH have we EVER had this happen......we've stayed with MANY companies, but this is a first. Lastly a few things could have been done better. When we arrived, it would have been nice if the front and rear covered decks were swept. There was a lot of dead bugs, leaves & bottle caps from alcohol (ppl before us) laying around on the decks. I swept that up myself, not a deal breaker. There were excessive dead bugs on the living room floor - I also swept up, not a deal breaker we're in the woods. The issue is that it made me question how clean the cabin actually was. Therefore, I took it upon myself to clean the cabin with the products I'd brought to be sure. The hot tub, while up to temp at 102 degrees had brownish grey water and looked filthy. VERY UNINVITING, especially when the pool chemicals were neatly portioned out and could have been dumped into the tub when it was prepped for the next guest. I get that the water may be discolored from minerals, but this was just a dirty hot tub. I make that assumption as when we took off the lid, there wasn't even the faintest hint of chemicals from the water (which one can usually smell when they've been added) upon removal of the lid. Overall, we wanted to love this cabin, but didn't. The constant, horrendous sewer smell was a deal breaker and for the cost, I NEVER EVER expected to have an unresolved odor issue continue

The Pods are located right across the street from the Chalets so I was worried at first about having adequate privacy but once we entered the Pod I felt I was transported to the middle of the woods. My favorite part of the Pod was that it was Bluetooth equipped so I was able to play some folk music over the speakers to enhance my woodsy experience. Towels and bottled water are also provided for you in the Pod.
