My boyfriend and I stayed at Ponderosa Cabin (Allison Ranch) and had a fantastic time! The cabin was very clean & everything that was needed for a getaway was provided. There were great amenities such as a hot tub, a nice grill, outdoor furniture, large queen-sized beds, wifi, etc. We had such a nice stay and the cabin was easy to find with Google Maps! The location is PERFECT, with only a mile of a walk roughly to the caves, and a short drive to all the tourist attractions that Hocking Hills had to offer. We would definitely stay again, and plan to in the future!! read more

O/10 would not recommend - Dove cabin Disappointed is an understatement. The day of reservation we got there, unpacked and headed out for a hike! We went to the brewery in town and also got dinner and arrive back to the cabin around 8pm to get settled in and spend the night relaxing in the hot tub. When we got back, we got in the fridge to find our drinks and everything in the fridge not cold. We went to turn on the hot tub to find these 2 holes on the top filled with a disgusting substance. (Pictured below.) The heat indicator on the hot tub was rising but the water stayed lukewarm. When we went to sit on the futon we saw sweat stains and a cigarette burn (pictured below) and at that point I didn't feel comfortable there, especially during a pandemic. It was my birthday weekend and I didn't want to spend it grossed out worried about what else could be wrong with the cabin. We made the decision at 9pm to pack up and head back to Columbus. I was so sad because I was stoked for this getaway. I emailed good earth cabin as soon as we left to let them know our experience and tell them we wanted our money back. They took 2 days to respond and I only received an email after my boyfriend called and left a voicemail. They told me they went in on Saturday and cleaned up the issues we were having, wish we called before leaving, didn't think we gave the cabin a chance and could only give us 1 night refund. I emailed back explaining more details and why needed a full refund and never heard back. My boyfriend tried calling and left voicemails and they never returned our calls. I emailed again, still haven't heard anything. They only refunded us for 1 night, I only know this bc of my bank statements. I've stayed in plenty of cabins and have never had an experience like this. read more

I have stayed at MANY cabins in Hocking Hills, and this place is the WORST yet. Upon making my reservation, I called because it says you wont get the 4 night discount booking online. The lady who answered was rushed and said she had cleaners coming in so could she call me back? Ok :/ i guess (shouldn't a customer come before your cleaners?) She did call me promptly back, asking me to reserve online, because basically she's too busy to do it over the phone. I agreed but mentioned the 4 night discount, she tried to say because its a holiday weekend it didn't apply... website doesn't say this. In the end i booked it online, they did give me the 10% discount. Upon entering the M'Hollow cabin, spider webs inside that was head level. Dirty dishes in the clean cubbords. Dirty outdoor furniture. Dead, decaying animals all over the yard. Vultures tearing them up during the day. Some weird pollen looking substance and dirty water in the hot tub. When outside, the smell of dead animals was strong so it was unpleasant. Beams falling off the ceiling, outlets dont work, so cheaply thrown together, you can see inside the walls, some showing wires and insulation, some you can see the light from the adjoining room. Washer not working, but this was never mentioned or was never offered an additional discount and was a reason i chose this particular cabin. Had to make a trip to laundromat as i packed as tho I'd have an available washer and dryer. The bathtub is simply unsafe to get in and out of. I'm sure I am missing something, but you get the point by now. There was no pen to write in the guest book, and many pages were missing... wonder why. Cons: MANY Pros: bed was comfortable and clean and with so many cabins, there was availability on a busy holiday weekend. read more

Majestic pines cabin. I debated on my review. The cabin was almost as expected. Everything functioned. A bit bummed on the condition of the rental. The screens were all loose. Tbh the MAIN reason we chose this one. We thought having the dogs & the screened in porch would be relaxing. But the spline was worn &the screens are loose. I assume maintenance is more frequent in spring, fall, summer. Some other minor repairs needed, but in all we enjoyed the needed break from city life. They added add an extra day last minute, so hence the 4 star. I appreciate the response time & customer service. If u need a handy man (woman) i can do it all. ;) we will be back. Also there are bugs, but my puppy was enjoying catching them. Maybe because of the moisture in the carpet or the fact we are in the woods. Either way, it wasn't over distracting so im ok lol read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! We stayed in the Trail's End Lodge and Flo Mines/Liberty Belle Cabin. We arrived to the lodge which was DIRTY and terribly SMELLY and the AC not working in Flo Mines/Liberty Belle (according to the log kept, it has not been working for over a month). We put in a call and was told someone would be out to put a window unit in. Four additional calls were made with no answer and no return call. Flo Mines/Liberty Belle also had BATS flying around inside each night so the loft bed (only bed in the cabin) was not usable and we daringly kept fingers crossed they didn't swoop down too low. We put an emergency call in to the office and left several messages regarding this matter. No response. STAY CLEAR! They apparently collect your money and don't bother to manage their properties. read more

This particular gem is located right across from a dump. A loud smelly dump. The basement showcased tons of standing water. Lovely. The mold and mildew in the air was so strong throughout the building it made us ill. We had to sleep on the screened porch with the windows open. My daughter's asthma has never been so bad. Then there's the deck. The neglected, rotting, broken stairs to the deck with rusty nails sticking up all over. That thing is falling apart and dangerous. My daughter tripped and fell down those lovely stairs, and I almost cut my foot on a rusty nail sticking up walking barefoot by the hot tub, which was too dilapidated to enjoy. Missing parts? Open outlets? Seriously. You'd be better off sleeping in the yard in a tent. No way the air is healthy in there. It should be inspected. It was hands down THE worst place we've ever rented. The reception was rude and cold as well. No customer service at all. So bad, we left early in disgust and outrage. Don't waste your money renting anything from Good Earth Cabins. read more

I have thought hard about writing this review and in the end decided it might be helpful to someone else. We stayed at the Nature View cabin. Negatives: -Extremely strong sulfur water - not mentioned on the website - Hot water was esp bad during a shower and you smelled like sulfur after a shower. -The house seemed clean in general, but BOTH tubs had large clumps of long black hair clinging to the sides (not down in the drain). -In the master bathroom there was a window right beside the shower with full view of the entire bathroom / shower that had not cover at all - no curtain, no shade. It was quite disconcerting to shower knowing that when you opened the shower curtain you would be in full view of anyone in the woods behind the house. NOTE: the window did not face the road, but still... -The cabin is extremely close to a main road - although it wasn't very noisy. This was fine for our family, but for a family with small children or pets, this might be an issue. The day we got home I emailed the owners and mentioned all the above. I have never heard back. Cleanliness was the biggest issue. When we first got there, I had to clean out the dishwasher so that it could run. Both the tub and bathroom sink had hair clogs which should have been easily noticed if a good clean was done. Lastly, the hot tub had debris around the water intake area which I cleaned out and the filter clearly hadn't been changed in a long time. We checked in on a Tuesday and emailed them the next day. We were told it would be addressed, but after checking out today (Sunday), we never had the items dealt with. read more

We just got back from a 3 night stay in Majestic Pines Cabin. It is in an excellent location, close to the sites but also offers privacy. The cabin was fully stocked with everything a person would need to cook and relax. Extra pillows, blankets, towels, etc. Lots of pots and pans. Everything functioned how it should except the hot tub cover was broken when we arrived. Not too much of an issue, just be careful taking it off if you do. (There was just the two of us so we used it with half the lid on). The only thing missing that would have been nice was a hair dryer. The beds are real low to the ground and sorta uncomfortable, but bed comfort is subjective! The carpet gets a little stinky when it rains for three days straight, but that's bound to happen in any pet friendly place! Overall, we loved it and would definitely come back for another stay!!! read more

As others have stated what they advertise online is NOT what you get. They will not give you directions or the address of the cabin until 2 days before your stay. It would be nice to know where in the area the cabin is. We stayed at the Buckstone. Was this place ok yes but absolutely not for the price. They make you drive 25 min. out of the way to check in and then back track down the very curvy roads to the cabin. If you have people who get car sick this is just awful. They do not actually describe the cabin or the location. We chose this cabin because my g/f is on crutches and we needed a first floor bedroom and bathroom. What they failed to mention is there are 2 large steps up to the shower. Also there is a bedroom on the 3 floor with no a/c. So if you plan to stay up there beware. It was extremely hot. The bathtub was dirty when we arrived. Our sheets had stains on them and were pilled. There are no pans to cook in the oven. Only a few pots for the stove. While they do mention they only provide the towels and toilet paper necessary it was ridiculous. 1 roll per bathroom. Because most people want to travel with toilet paper. Also we were given 2 towels but 1 washcloth and 1 hand towl. Wasn't to excited about having to share a wash rag. The hot tub control panel is all busted up and you can either have the jets on by your back or your legs but not both on at the same time. And you have to hold down the button for a while before the jets start anyways. The neighbor stopped by to remind us not to block their drive way. which we were not doing. Cabin is right off of the road and there is a lot of traffic noise. It's a drive to most of the attractions in the area which of course they do not let you know until you are there. I have not stayed at many cabins in the Hocking Hills area, and I hope this isn't a representation of what is all out there. I had booking issues, contact issues, and am displeased with the cabin itself. Specifics will be below, but it may get lengthy. First, when I booked my stay online, I was told that I would have to contact them to approve my dogs coming with me. No big deal, I call---the person in spoke with in the morning was unable to help me and said that I will receive a call within a few hours from someone who can. They never called. Also, I was instructed in an email to contact them for directions to the cabin. They weren't given until I contacted them again. The thing that really irked me about it was that when I called, they stated they sent them out already. I received the email later that day, with a sent timestamp from during our conversation. That raises integrity issues. In that same conversation, I was told that while I selected two dogs to stay with me, the system didn't update correctly and I will have to pay for my second dog (possibly again...they didn't give me an itemized receipt). Upon arrival to the cabin (Acorn Bungalow), I wanted a nice, hot relaxing shower. When I stepped in, the floor felt unsturdy, almost squishy. I am not a big man, only 135lbs at 5'6". Then when I went to adjust the showerhead, I realized it was glued on after breaking. It couldn't be adjusted. So I had to crouch to get under the showerhead. Later I head into the kitchen to make toast and find our last occupants' food reside still on the toaster. (It looked like melted poptart sprinkles.) Next, I'm straightening up the place and find a pair of pants in a field of dust under the bed. How long have they been there? I'm unsure; it sure looked like it's been a few months since they cleaned under there. Again, integrity issues arise. Last, beware of their advertising. It was stated that the bungalow was in a private wooded setting. At the end of the short drive was a tavern that regularly hosted a full parking lot; next to the bungalow was parking for another cabin (literally a child's stone throw from the deck); and the neighbors were so close that I could hear their domestic disputes. The only trees on the property were those used to separate out homes---everything else was gravel. read more

Our overall experience this past weekend was extremely disappointing and concerning of the overall condition of the property. I would go so far as using the word appalling on certain items. I tried to reach someone on Friday upon arrival, but both call, text and email - didn't merit a reply from anyone. As we further explored the property Friday evening more things surfaced to cause dismay. I spent an exorbitant amount of time researching so many rental companies throughout the area. I knew when we settled on nature view that we were forgoing a "cabin feel", but the space for our family served us better than needing that "feel". The average pricing for cabins within the area are typically between $180-240 per night on the weekends. When I found your place, pricing was attractive at $189 per night and allowing pets as we wanted to bring our dog with us. I reached out to see if there were any deals currently going on when a final price was established for our family ($473). Which ended us in reality after taxes and fees at $236 per night. I reviewed the pictures numerous times... probably visited your website 15 plus times to ensure our needs were met and we were choosing the right place to meet our needs and met our financial expectations. Upon arriving, we entered with a lingering scent that was very off putting. While smells can be such a turn off, I knew I could push through. We entered into the kitchen to put groceries away promptly, when it was immediate to us that the kitchen needed some TLC and was grossly under stocked with cooking supplies. We brought our family and had a certain level of expectations for cooking needs along with CLEAN supplies of which certainly were not clean. Everything we touched or used had to be cleaned prior to use. The dishwasher was horrifying. I wouldn't dare use that from the dirt, hair and door condition which was seemingly ready to fall off. Above all, there were mouse droppings under the sink on the sponges and the dish drainer/dryer. GROSS. We then entered the "utility room" to pass through to explore outside / hot tub area; the room was very exposed and concerning for families with kids. The washer was also filthy with a note on the dryer stating, "Dryer don't work". Of course the dryer was probably the only thing we could have used, but I wouldn't have washed our clothing in that washer as they would have been dirtier afterwards than prior. I even took the time to send an email about the bottom step taking you down to the fire pit as it was completely unattached and my husband slipped and almost injured himself. We wanted it known it was like that upon arrival and the potential concern for injury to someone. Again, no response. While the hot tub was nice in its little patio covering, a cinder block step is not the safest access for most folks. The bathrooms were less than tidy. The corners of the floors had so much dirt/hair built up along the baseboards it was foul. The floor in the master bathroom is so soft and when you sit on the toilet you felt like you were going to go straight through the floor. It was really off putting. The master bed - WOW. The entire middle was sunken more than normal wear. Upon further review there are legit BRICKS underneath the bed!!! Bricks holding it up! Neither of us got a good nights sleep and we didn't pay that much money for us not too, especially after hiking all day. I could have stayed at a high end hotel for $200+ a night; furthermore, I could have stayed at a holiday inn express for $120 a night with a decent bed. The bottom-line to this is that I understand that you rent to people all the time and I am certain that renters are a dime a dozen with the demand, but we were so disappointed all weekend. I was grossed out and I sucked it up for my family. My husband also was so irritated that after all the research and the price compared to the others that were so similar and in some cases less - this is what we got. It was our little spring break trip for our kids and we all had a great time hiking and exploring the amazing things that HH has to offer, but the thought Sat night of returning to that house made our stomach hurt. It met our basic needs of shelter, but again for $236 a night even with said "discount" - I know for certain we could have gotten much nicer, definitely cleaner, with a better stocked kitchen gear and overall feel. I don't think I can say the word disappointment enough. Matter of fact, we ended up leaving promptly this morning, by 9am because we just were so over it. Our kids just wanted to be home to take showers at home and feel "clean". That is really bad when kids under 10 years old, two boys even, feel that way. read more

The staff are friendly and will answer any questions you have, and if you ask will try to help you pick a cabin that works best for you. They have so many to choose from and there's something for everyone and every budget. Just got back from a mini stay at one of the cabins for my best friends birthday and we had a blast!! We stayed at Buck Run Cabin 9/27/2020 through 9/29/2020. Very nice cabin and very secluded, quiet and really private area. Bed was super comfy and the fire pit was nice to sit by and enjoy. Hot tub was awesome and we enjoyed in even in the pouring down rain and wind! Location is a bit away from the areas of hiking, but worth the drive to those areas as it is beautiful and close to Logan which was a plus. Fonda Woods is always a great host and her cabins are and have been the reason we return every year to Good Earth Cabins. We have stayed at 3 different properties with Good Earth and have never been disappointed in our stays. We will be returning hopefully in October 2020 if only I can get a cabin !! The cabin was clean and the location was good but outside of that our stay was disappointing at best. We were sent the wrong lock box code for check in. Our checkin time was at 4pm and we arrived about 10 minutes before that to discover our code would not work. We called both numbers, left voicemails and messaged the host through Airbnb (we booked through them). No answers for about an hour. I find that extremely unprofessional given this was at 4pm on a Friday. We drove to the office (20 minutes away) to find it unstaffed and only three other confused families in the parking lot. Once we were able to get in, the cabin was nice and clean however there were a few more issues we experienced. The listing advertised a "fully equipped kitchen with keurig" however there was no keurig. Not a major deal but I specifically only brought k-cups based on the listing. There was only one wine glass despite the cabin being suitable for 4. After the stress of the check-in process we decided to relax in the hot tub but couldn't because the chlorine was so strong that when we turned on the jets the steam was burning our eyes and throats. We shared our concerns but never heard another word from the management company. Due to lack of communication and the other issues noted above our stay was disappointing and stressful. read more

About two weeks before we came I stupidly fell off my chair at work and sprained my ankle in two places. Starting this downward spiral for my bad mood. Then when we pulled up and I saw the house directly next door and that the waterfall was just a dripping dried up memory of everyone else just completely sealed my bad mood. I was bound and determined to find something "fun" for us to do I spent the day buried in my phone looking for an "activity" I had scheduled morning messages for 90 minutes (from Blue Valley Message - review to come) and they were great but I still was not snapped out of my bad mood. Then I asked my husband to go for a hike at one of the caves but he said "NO!" He said that he doesn't need to get in the car and drive to go see a cave when he can sit in our hot tub and see one. He said we don't need to drive to go explore we can just follow the creek that goes around the house and see where that takes us. And that was it, that was all I needed to realize that the only thing that my bad mood was be doing was ruining my opportunity to enjoy this wonderful place. He pointed out to me that he was able to see everything around him because his head wasn't stuck in my phone looking to go see something beautiful but instead we could just sit in the deck and see what was beautiful around us. THANK YOU TREE HOUSE BY THE FALLS For showing me once again why I married this amazing man who shows me that there is true beauty around me if I just take my head out of our technology and out of my @$$ to see what we are so blessed to be able to see and afford to see Finally I was able to listen to the birds chirping and the amazing dripping waterfall, the amount of time that it most have taken for nature to grow those roots that climb down a cliff in search of water. We were able to go exploring right here and see the mini caves that we were able to see literally from the hot tub. Before we left a friend asked if we would have an interest in going on a weekend get away with them. They said that this was exactly the type of glamping they were looking to do. I can just imagine easily having game nights here, possibly bring a card table if we want to play in the living room or playing right there on the deck. Again thank you for helping me stop wanting more and showing me what I have right in front of me and how lucky I am to be able to afford it. My only advice would be you don't need to pack your days with activities, this place offers some amazing views and opportunity for adventure. It is your vacation and you can do whatever you want and it's not about the stories people expect to hear from you when you get back. Hopefully we will be back and not alone! read more

We stayed at the Kountry Klassic cabin and it was a great experience. We knew it was right off the main road from the description, but were pleased to find out that there was a privacy shield that helped with the noise, as well as with the dogs to keep them in the yard. The cabin itself was cute... good layout for 3 sets of friends coming in town. Very comfy furniture which turned out great since it rained all night Saturday. There was Foosball and pool in the basement which was an unexpected surprise. The hottub was clean and very comfortable. The only reason I rated 4 vs 5 was the kitchen. When we got there we couldn't find plates. Thinking someone who stayed there previously may have taken or damaged them we wrote it off. After eating I went to load the dishwasher only to find it packed full. Unfortunately everything was soaked from going through a wash but covered in a slimey greasy substance. I would have expected the house cleaning crew to take care of that and make sure that everything was in fact clean. read more

We visit Hocking Hills every year, at least once a year, for the past 10 years or so. We like to try new cabins each time. This was the first time that we were ever disappointed in our cabin. It is also the first time that we rented from a rental company, rather than a privately owned cabin. For starters, the website description of the cabin was a little less than forthcoming. We stayed in the Wyandotte which is listed as having two bedrooms, with an additional bedroom upstairs. Much to our surprise, when we arrived, there is one bedroom on the main floor, and two in the basement. The basement bedrooms are right next to the room containing the mechanicals for the cabin, so it is nice and noisy down there, and a little damp. The beds are covered with some sort of plastic or rubber covering, so every movement makes a loud noise. The hot tub was right outside, maybe 20 feet from the bedrooms, and some sort or pump never stopped running, making more noise. I felt a little bit like I was in the movie My Cousin Vinny. The kitchen was dirty and they didn't even bother to provide dish soap or hand soap, so I could do the job that their cleaning people failed at. There was actually a dish tub under the sink with disgusting smelling brown water in it. We ate all of our meals in restaurants while we were there. By the way, Hocking Hills Diner and Hocking Hills Lodge both have AWESOME food, Steve's Steakhouse, not so much, but I digress. This cabin is located along the driveway from hell. I have a small SUV, and anything just a smidge bigger than that would never have been able to make it. Full sized pick up truck or larger 4 door sedan, don't even bother. The driveway is only just barely wide enough for one medium sized vehicle, and it feeds into 3 cabins. So what happens when two cars are going in opposite directions, and they meet on the long, long drive? Someone has to drive backwards along the drive until they get to an area where passing is possible. It is probably at least 1/4 mile long, and one side of the driveway is a fairly sharp drop down a cliff. It would have been nice if the person who took my reservation had mentioned that a larger vehicle would not be able to make it up to the cabin. In the future, I will NEVER rent from a company managed cabin again, since I really have nothing good to say about the place. read more

We stayed at the Glenwood Cabin 10/16 -10/18. I believe the owners of the cabin hired Good Earth for maintenance and handling the rentals. Our first night we entered the hot tub in the back at 2:00 AM and when we tried to re-enter the cabin, the sliding back door was locked. Being cold wet and in the dark wilderness with no cell phone reception, I broke a small window to enter through the front door. I then went to the back sliding door, and discovered that when you close it, it would intermittently lock. When I went to the rental office to report it, I also offered that the owners could come in while we are out to fix the doors so it would not interfere with the next renters. The lady behind the desk watched the video then called the owners but left the room while speaking with them. The following morning, I was taking a shower, and the water started to spray all over the wall, after removing the shower head, the thread on the pipe looked like an ancient slinky. The air hockey table also did not work, and it seemed that the furnace did not either. I left a note about the shower head before we left and took a video of the entire cabin. I was a little concerned because the cabin had signs posted all over the interior. One read that if you change the settings on the TV $100, then some other amount if you get locked out. Upon our return home, I received an email from Fonda asking me to pay $75 for the window on the door. I sent Fonda the videos of the door intermittently self locking and stated that I had no choice. I also mentioned the other issues and said that I am being more than reasonable not asking for some money back and that they should reciprocate by being reasonable. Fonda replied that in the packet I picked up at the rental office it states to leave the key in the lock box outside. Who does this when they are inside the cabin? She also quickly called me unreasonable and a liar. I became angry and sent all of the pictures and videos of the issues with the cabin, with the multiple videos showing the door self locking again and again and again. I also sent her a picture of the pipe where the metal was so worn it looked like a slinky. Her response was that the cabin was in perfect working order before we got there and that in 20 years, the sliding glass door never self locked, the shower head was put back on and works fine, that the furnace is fine. That there was an issue before, and that the current renters do not have an issue. She also stated that the owners did not wish to argue over $75. My hope is that the owners read this, and check out the cabin for themselves. If there is a maintenance agreement with Good Earth Cabins, Good Earth is not holding up their end of the agreement and the owners are now out $75. read more

Hi there! Just stayed at Copper Valley Cabin. It was wonderful! A quaint out of the way cabin with all the basics and then some. It was 20 min drive from Old Man's Cave, so close but not too close. The ceilings are vaulted allowing for good air circulation which was so nice during this heat wave. Outside the kitchen window you could see a hill with grazing cattle.. so picturesque! Outside there was a large firepit close to a babbling brook. The night sky was perfectly visible in the clearing for the cabin. I would go back for sure! read more

Stayed with my wife at the Mingo cabin this past weekend. Loved it. Clean, comfortable cabin in a secluded, beautiful location, but very close to Hocking Hills attractions. This place was better than advertised. Will definitely be back. read more

We rented a cabin from Good Earth Cabins for the first time this past weekend, and sadly, it will be the last time. Definitely, the advertisements and pictures do not represent the actual experience. For one thing, the cabin (Kountry Klassic) is not in Hocking Hills, but rather beside a very busy road in a public area. We were hoping to enjoy peace and quiet and nature, relaxing at the cabin, but as it was, we spent as much time away from the cabin as we could. The first thing we did upon arrival was sweep all the floors, including the bedrooms. The windows were extremely dirty, the grass was long and straggly and hadn't been cut, the fire ring was a small tire rim, the tiny charcoal grill was broken, the "steam closet" did not work, much of the exercise equipment was broken, lights didn't work resulting in very poor lighting. It was advertised as having three bedrooms with one bedroom having bunk beds. Well, there were no bunk beds in any of the bedrooms and we needed all the beds for our group. Later we encounter the bunks in the damp, dark, smelly basement, where no one would've wanted to sleep. Furthermore, the bed in the one bedroom was so uncomfortable that we were unable to use that, either. There was hardly any outdoor furniture except a rickety swing and two chairs; not even a picnic table. How do you enjoy the outdoors without outdoor furniture? Porches were unswept.... the worst thing was the smell throughout the house and the general unkempt, sloppy appearance. The "fishing lake" is a nearly dried-up mud hole in the middle of a field grown up with weeds. No way we would've walked down there. Sorry, folks, but don't waste your money on this one. Thankfully we have rented with others in Hocking Hills and can testify to good experiences, too. read more
