Would not stay here again. When we arrived the hot tub was open. I am assuming it was open for at least a week, as that was the last time they had a booking. Strong winds caused us to be without power for almost 24 hours. Company suggestion was for us to checkout (with no refund). I was told a manager / owner would contact me the following Monday which never happened. No refund given. Lots of trash on-site that needs to be picked up as well. Kalli's Luxury Retreat - unfortunately the name doesn't live up to the experience. The cabin's workmanship on the surface was nice. Newer LG appliances (filtered water & ice maker in the fridge was a plus), cool bathroom, cozy oversized chair, great fireplace on rear covered deck and amazing rockers w/cup holders on front and rear porches. Now upon opening the door, the first thing I said was, "WOW! That's a weird smell." Unfortunately, we were smelling sewer smells the entire time we were there. I contacted the email from the site the first night and they responded the next day. While I was in the bathroom tub (shades open) a gentleman put his ladder on the side of the bathroom window and started climbing up, while someone chatted with my husband at the door. Needless to say I was mortified and embarrassed that we weren't initially made aware that someone was coming until after they had arrived. The person climbing the ladder definitely got an eye full.....Anyway, they said the vent pipes weren't removed once the cabins construction was done and the traps may have gotten dry. We heard them sawing something & then they left soon after. We ran water, as instructed after they cut the tops off the pipes and were advised Joey would be back with a top to cover another pipe on the roof. The smell initially got a little better, but within a couple hours it was back full force. We again contacted Rob again, who sent Joey back out to address the issue. This time, he put bleach down the drains, gave a can of fabreeze, a pumpkin candle and 2 renuzit toilet scents. Now, we had been burning candles in all the rooms from the moment we arrived and kept the front & rear doors open to try and air out the smell. NONE of that helped. It even began to stink outside, so no handing out on the front or rear porch unless we needed cell signal. So although the thought was nice, 1 single wick candle, 1 can of fabreeze and some toilet scents were NOT going to cut it. The smell was not as strong after the bleach, but never did go away. In fact, when we ran the dishwasher before leaving, the smell returned full force throughout the cabin, especially in the bathroom and rear porch area. THE SMELL ALONE RUINED OUR ATTEMPTED ROMANTIC GETAWAY. While I appreciate them trying to solve this issue, there wasn't any follow-up to confirm resolution. I had to keep updating Rob. At least Rob did say he was "sorry it's doing what it's doing" regarding the odor. Honestly, I cannot begin to explain to you how utterly disgusting it is to constantly smell sewage inside and in the immediate surrounding exterior of one's "luxury retreat." Not once in the decade plus of coming to HH have we EVER had this happen......we've stayed with MANY companies, but this is a first. Lastly a few things could have been done better. When we arrived, it would have been nice if the front and rear covered decks were swept. There was a lot of dead bugs, leaves & bottle caps from alcohol (ppl before us) laying around on the decks. I swept that up myself, not a deal breaker. There were excessive dead bugs on the living room floor - I also swept up, not a deal breaker we're in the woods. The issue is that it made me question how clean the cabin actually was. Therefore, I took it upon myself to clean the cabin with the products I'd brought to be sure. The hot tub, while up to temp at 102 degrees had brownish grey water and looked filthy. VERY UNINVITING, especially when the pool chemicals were neatly portioned out and could have been dumped into the tub when it was prepped for the next guest. I get that the water may be discolored from minerals, but this was just a dirty hot tub. I make that assumption as when we took off the lid, there wasn't even the faintest hint of chemicals from the water (which one can usually smell when they've been added) upon removal of the lid. The cabin we stayed at was nice but the location was absolutely horrid. No warning that it was located on a very steep hill with only one gravel lane and no rail guards to keep your vehicle from going in the ditch. Two cabins were located in the same area. Thankfully the other cabin's occupants weren't leaving or returning at the same time as us. I can't imagine trying to back down or back up that hill. What a nightmare! Also it is located right beside a noisy highway. So enjoying the deck wasn't that pleasant. You couldn't hear the birds over the noisy traffic. If we had not been running the AC we would have heard noisy traffic all night long. The cabin itself had basic necessities but I would recommend bringing your own pots and pans if you are cooking. What was offered was old and scratched up. The bed had a pillow top mattress pad which ended up making my husband uncomfortable by the end of our stay as it made the bed too soft and hurt his back. read more

After staying in one of the Serenity Cabins properties, I received a survey from a third-party requesting my review. No one really wanted my review unless it was favorable to the business, "We'd love to hear what you have to say about it. If there was anything which did not meet your expectations - then don't hesitate to get in touch with us before leaving your review." After indicating that I would not recommend these accommodations I was unable to submit the review--"Would you recommend this accommodation to others? Yes No There is a problem with some of your answers" So not only were the accommodations not satisfactory, but their attempt to secure only positive feedback is not satisfactory either. To be up front, my damage deposit was not fully refunded because some friends hung out with us for a day, and they brought their dog. Dogs are not permitted. I know the dog did not cause any damage and no special cleaning was required. So, the $300 Serenity Cabins kept from me hopefully will be spent on fixing the dishwasher door that frequently flopped to ground. This was quite a hazard with toddlers in the house. And, because the dishwasher door was broken, rolling out the bottom rack for easy access was nearly impossible when the dishwasher was full. Or it could be spent to install drawer handles and door pulls so guests can easily open the cabinets and drawers. The money would definitely be well spent on cabinet door bumpers, so the cabinet doors don't slam so loudly. Maybe the $300 will be spent on a raise for the cleaner who must be so busy that laundry was still in the washer and dryer upon my family's arrival. Maybe it will be spent for another cleaner to clean the ashes out of the deck fireplace because it had not been cleaned for some time. Great accommodations. The deck surrounding the cabin provided an excellent view. Wi-fi internet worked well with a large group and recovered in reasonable time after two sets of big thunderstorms caused short power interruptions. Kitchen is awesome. Showers were good but EXTREMELY slippery when wet and represents a fall hazard to those with unsteady feet. Rubber mats recommended. read more

Looking for a romantic cabin in Hocking Hills doesn't seem like it would be that tough. But trust me, it is. There are tons of search results that pop up, mostly pointing towards ones that didn't meet my requirements, or that were way over-priced for a couple of nights in a sub-par cabin. That's when you need to turn to Yelp. After almost a week of searching the web, it hit me. So, I did a search for "romantic cabins" in Logan, OH and wouldn't you know it--I had several viable options from trusted Yelp friends. Duh. We settled on staying in a Serenity Cabin for these reasons: - It wasn't over-priced for what it was: a cabin. Too many places in Hocking Hills charge out the butt for a stay in a dingy-ass cabin just because of the location. NOPE. - New construction, updated interiors and CLEAN. A lot of HH cabins seem nice online, then you get there and you'd rather sleep outdoors. - Hot tub, secluded, full kitchen, fire-pit. BOOM. We stayed for two nights in the Piccolo cabin and our expectations were surpassed. The cabin was spotless and updated. It was a tiny space, but furnished in a way that utilized it all in the best way. The bed was cozy and the back porch with the secluded, private (and clean) tub was awesome. Everything was provided, we just had to bring toiletries and clothes. There was firewood, charcoal and utensils for the nice grill, outdoor furniture for dining al fresco and sitting by the fire. It was perfect. Why I would recommend staying with Serenity: 1) Their prices are significantly cheaper than other crappier cabins mostly because they're just outside of the Hocking Hills area. I had no problem with this. 2) Seclusion 3) Clean and updated 4) And most importantly, I planned and executed my entire trip without having to speak to a human. I reserved online, got an email with day of entry instructions. The key was in a lockbox with a code. When we left we just cleaned up and popped the key back in the box. So, so easy. Some things I think they could do better.... - Although these are some of the cheaper cabins in the area, I still think the Piccolo (smallest cabin) could have a more competitive price. Because it's labeled "romantic" and not just "small" they charge as much as some of the larger cabins, which I think is stupid. Small doesn't always = romantic and that label shouldn't warrant a pricier stay. - Tip envelope for the clean up. You're required to clean up after yourself and clean any dishes you made dirty. I did A LOT of clean up on my vacation because of their rules. And the tip envelope just left a bad taste in my mouth. - The website said they had a DVD player, but it was actually Blu-Ray as well. It would have been nice to know since we would have brought some blu-rays. TIPS: * You may notice on their website and on some reviews that folks recommend driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle to the cabin. I would just straight up require this. The larger cabin next to us had a Mercedes and I have no idea how they 1) made it up the steep hill and 2) didn't destroy their car with gravel trying. Summer months you might get lucky, otherwise do not attempt it with anything other than a 4-wheel drive car or truck. When I say it was a steep gravel hill, that's an understatement. read more

READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING HERE!!! I caution you to book elsewhere. Don't even consider this place. Please read other reviews and search online thoroughly before making a commitment to booking with Serenity Cabins. It's my opinion that you'll find reasons to not book. Their policies are ridiculous in my opinion. I think you could book a cabin with them years out and cancel in a matter of days and you will automatically lose money. If you have a family member die, their written policy online doesn't account for that. I'm of the opinion you could find out through a review or word of mouth that the place was super dirty and not well taken care of and they won't care and you won't get your money back. I literally emailed these people about getting a deposit back and they threatened to sue me, which is ridiculous. Research this place thoroughly before booking and take into consideration they have added verbiage to their website on 9/20/18 that says "Subject to Change Without Notice". Think to yourself why a company would put something like this on their website and have what in my opinion is a very harsh cancellation policy. Now think about the fact that they threaten to sue people over reviews they feel will hurt their business. Make your own decision but thoughly research before making any reservation. read more

Perfect! Absolutely perfect for a little romantic getaway. My boyfriend apparently called ahead and had them do some cute things to the place (as seen in pictures). This quaint cabin had everything we needed. A full kitchen for cooking healthy dinners, a little TV for our movies, a hot tub for late night relaxing, a grill, and a beautiful balcony to look out over the trees. It was a short drive to all the Hocking Hills attractions and a grocery store. Overall, it had everything we needed. The cabin we had was set pretty far back in the woods so we had a good amount of privacy from the others. You get all this for a reasonable price! Go for it! read more

My wife and I were looking forward to a relaxing getaway this week and have stayed in several cabins in the Hocking Hills area over the years and have always had a great time. We booked one for this week at Hocking Hills Serenity Cabins near Logan. When we arrived the cabin seemed like a nice place. We brought in the few bags we had for our short 2 night stay and since it was very hot and humid outside we decided to relax and read in the bed. It was then we noticed an irritating gnat flying around...no big deal - figured we'd smash it sooner or later and be done. Well, we killed it, then another, then more and more, and they just kept coming. After two hours of near constant swatting I called the rental company to ask them to remedy the problem. The responses I got were: - the cleaning lady didn't notice any gnats (NOT HELPFUL) - we haven't had a problem before (NOT HELPFUL) - maybe you left food out (we didn't have a crumb of food or any drinks out) - suggested we left the door open (90 degrees, 90% humidity...ah no) - maybe put some vinegar out to trap them Sorry, but as the customer is it too much to think that this is not my problem to fix? Finally convinced them to send somebody over to take a look. They promised they would be there by 8 p.m. and when 8 o'clock came without a word, after 5 hours swatting gnats we decided to leave. In the meantime I made sure to document the problem with photos and video, including the dirty wet mop in a bucket 3 feet from the bed. We passed the maintenance guy on our way out. He was nice but the first night of our rare 2 night vacation was ruined. I am reasonable and understand problems happen, but it is absolutely unacceptable for a business to treat their customers the way this place did. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Owl's Nest in Secluded Sanctuaries and I must say, we were extremely impressed by everything in this cabin. Alan made our stay very welcoming and made it clear that he was there for anything we needed during our stay. We decided to take a couple days off work and go down to southern Ohio for a little "family vacation" with our puppy, and enjoy the hiking trails and meadows that I've heard nothing but great things about. It definitely lived up to our standards..and more. We had a beautiful meadow directly behind our cabin that we explored with our dog the first night we got there, and everything you hear about the hiking trails are true (if you hear good things, that is). If you enjoy real hiking and exploring the real backwoods, this is the place to do it. The hikes were intense, exciting, and not to mention, beautiful. The caves, waterfalls, everything was breathtaking. We're hikers, including our dog, and this was the perfect place to get away for us. The cabin was so well stocked with essentials, also a grill and a hot tub to make it perfect for a relaxing night in after we got home after our days out hiking. Everything about the cabin was perfect for a relaxing getaway for the family. I don't recommend GPS however, in those back roads, a GPS won't help you. But, that's not necessarily a bad thing... Be sure to check out the stars at night time! Especially if you're from the city and rarely get to see them, like us! read more

This was my second time in Hocking Hills with my fiancee - the first was for a romantic getaway and the second, at Serenity Cabins, was for our joint Bachelor/Bachelorette party. Rocky View Lodge was the perfect size for our 10 bridal party guests and we we're 100% happy with everything about the cabin. As with most Hocking Hills Cabins, the entrance driveways are steep and you may almost die driving up unless you're in a Ford F-150. But once you make it up, it's absolutely beautiful! Rocky view was nestled right in the woods on top of a hill and was serene and beautiful. When we arrived, the cabin was very clean and hella spacious - perfect for our gathering. There's a total of five bedrooms that are all very nice, albeit...creaky. The kitchen is open to the living room which makes a great entertaining space amongst friends. There are plenty of cooking utensils and everything is modern and nice. Downstairs is a really awesome 'guy spot' with a pool table and bar, which made for a lot of fun. The deck patio area is HUGE and comes with plenty of tables, chairs, a nice grill, and a clean hot tub, which was definitely appreciated. about 20 feet up a short path is a secluded and super cute bonfire pit area - perfect for S'mores. We had such a fun Bach' Cabin weekend here and all our guests enjoyed Rocky View Lodge - It's clean, new, rustic, secluded and seriously so spacious. You'll love it. read more

For our 4-night family vacation in Ohio's Hocking Hills State Park, we were privileged to find accommodations at Serenity Cabins' Hidden Valley Lodge. Not only was the house immaculate when we arrived, but we also received personal attention from its very kind and helpful manager Rob, who answered any and all questions asked before our arrival and during our stay. Beds, furniture, kitchen facilities, bathrooms, and temperature control were all perfect. Located between Logan and the Hocking Hills land forms, Hidden Valley Lodge was in an ideal setting for our large family, and the playground in the backyard provided much entertainment for the small children in our group. We would definitely book with Serenity Cabins again! read more

I would like to share with you the real story about this house and what happened after we left so you guys will think twice prior you order going forward. We came several families with kids. The house indeed looks good outside but inside we found few things broken and full garbage that probably left from previous visitors. Since there is no service there + very poor wifi we simply took pictures and decided to enjoy . Indeed the area is great and our families enjoyed travel around. The day we left , we sent email to the owner and shared all issues without any problem since we simply wanted to avoid any future problem for next visitors or home owner. We got back long email with embarrassing complaints . When we called to discuss it, the conversation was also aggressive and disrespectful. The home owner said that his team checked everything before we left or another words we are liars ! In the end of the day we got only half deposit and the owner made it like a favor after multiple emails and calls. $250 taken without real reason!!! Sounds like nice extra cash flow!!! I am happy that had an opportunity to write this review and if anyone have any question I can share also the correspondence with the house owner in order to avoid any inconvenience for you in the future. I would rate it as zero since all the good memories from the area had been deleted from our memory after this issue I described above. read more

My boyfriend and I were going to the Snuggle Inn (Serenity Cabins) for our 2 year anniversary. I had called the owner a few days before we headed that way (a 3 hour drive) to see if we would need to rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle. He told us not to worry about it because they kept it plowed. We get to the cabin and get stuck trying to go up the first hill because of all of the ice. We decided not to worry about it and park at the bottom of the drive and hike up. We slip and slide on three different areas covered in ice (ON THE DRIVEWAY that they supposedly take care of). My boyfriend busted his knee open when he fell and I have a huge bruise on my leg from where I fell. We get to the top and try to put in the code to the lockbox that the owner e-mailed to by boyfriend and it didn't work. Here we are outside this cabin, my boyfriend is bleeding and we have half of our stuff already up the way and we cannot get in. Called the number for the place several different times and these are the replies we got. "I don't know why it doesn't open, the code should work. Try the code backwards. There should be a key on one of the loose logs on the cabin (there weren't)." After trying to get someone to come get us help to get in and asking for the manager, we get the reply that he is not in the office but she left the message for him, ALL while my boyfriend and I were outside freezing. The manager NEVER called us back (even two days later). Almost three hours after being outside, we lugged our belongings back down the hill and left. I tried to call the main office today to discuss a refund and no answer.. Don't waste your money! Do your research and go somewhere worth it! read more

My wife and I stayed at the Snuggle Inn from a Wednesday to a Sunday in March to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. The cabin was beautiful, super clean, and in a great location! We were within 15 minutes of all the Hocking Hills State Park hikes...which were all awesome and unique. We also hiked up the hill behind the cabin and were so impressed with the giant overhanging rocks and caverns and trees growing out of them. Amazing!! We will definitely be staying here again!! Loved it! I don't generally leave reviews but this place deserves it! read more
