Steep stairs going up to the second floor where the bedrooms are.

My husband took me and our dog to one of Lazy Lane's cabins in November 2013 as an anniversary surprise. The staff are super friendly and welcomed us upon arrival to the main office. They gave us instructions on how to get to our cabin which were very helpful because our cabin was waaayyyy back in the woods and I don't think our GPS would have found it. We took our dog with us to a pet friendly cabin they offered. We stayed in the triangle shaped cabin. I don't remember what it was called exactly. Everything was great until we arrived at the cabin. The inside of the cabin was clean but not cozy at all like I was hoping. The couch was hard, leather, and not comfortable at all. The floors were cold tile and the walls were bare studs. I guess I expected the walls to have wood boards across them like a traditional cabin. There was a little stove/fireplace which was nice. The stairs going upstairs to the bedrooms were STEEP! Our dog couldn't climb them because they were so steep. I was even afraid of falling down them. The bed was hard as a rock and because of the triangle shape of the house, the walls tilted in and we both bumped our heads a few times. I literally got only a few hours of sleep the entire weekend. The kitchen was nicely set up. Nice, large refrigerator, stove, sink, and a few appliances. The bathroom was also very nice and clean. Now, I realize that we were deep in the woods and there are bugs, but I didn't expect there to be so many bugs inside the cabin. It all started with the ladybugs. Hundreds of them were crawling inside the cabin walls, floor, counter tops, etc. Ok, so there are ladybug infestations in the woods all the time but what I didn't expect was the cockroach we found in the kitchen. It crawled out from under the refigerator and I smashed it with my shoe. It was as big as a penny. I kind of freaked out but decided I wouldn't leave unless more showed up and I never saw another one after that. Thankfully! The TV in the livingroom was the size of a computer monitor which was a little annoying. I guess you don't stay in Hocking Hills to watch TV but I wanted to watch the news at night but could barely see the TV from the couch so I had to wheel it much closer. The saving grace of this cabin was the hot tub. It was clean, properly cared for, and hot when we arrived. It was kind of cool to hang out in the hot tub while it snowed. We heard a few animals creeping through the woods while we were in there so it made the experience exciting. While I don't think we will ever go back to this particular cabin again, I do think that we would go through Lazy Lane cabins if we ever stay in Hocking Hills again. They were friendly and I know that if we would have complained, they would have helped us out. We only stayed two nights so it didn't seem right to complain about a few bugs. For the price, it wasn't worth the stay in this cabin. I would have preferred a better, less-bug filled cabin.

Just got home from out trip to Hocking Hills...we stayed at the Vintage Valley cabin...it was rustic and homey! It was clean, bug and mouse free and had all the amenities we needed for our 3 day trip. They give you starter tp, dish soap and paper towels...we used no more than that. The office to check in at was very clean, organized and friendly staff The fire ring, grill and front porch were our main spots to relax and all maintained very well! I would recommend highly to stay with Lazy Lanes and we def would again!

We have been twice and stayed @ Cedar Pines cabin. We are going back in the spring. The cabin is beautiful, secluded and clean. It is very reasonably priced and staff is friendly. The hot tub is amazing! There is virtually nothing negative I can say about these cabins. We will be frequenting them for years to come!

GREAT PLACES TO STAY FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO ESCAPE THE CITY FOR A FEW DAYS!!! Myself and those who were with me at the cabins we visited (Vintage Valley and Heart & Soul) have created some lasting memories, special and memorable moments, and just a heart warming time of reflection and relaxation. Vintage Valley is a simple cabin. Two bedrooms upstairs ( A queen sized bed in one room, two twin beds in the other room). Downstairs is a good sized a kitchen that 4 people can sit and eat adequately (One side of the table is close to the stove and wall but the table can be moved/adjusted. Also, the ONLY bathroom is off of the kitchen so that can be a little unsettling for some but we didn't mind. The shower head does need to be adjusted at times during use as well. The living room is where we sat to unwind when we were not outside. The couch cushions do feel worn/used (We sunk right into the couch on some points) but a thick blanket over the couch fixed that and it was relaxing and comfortable. The MAIN issue on the first floor though IS the floor. There were parts of the floor that felt uneven. Some were so uneven that it actually felt like the whole house was leaning, especially in the living room. Overall, Vintage Valley is a rustic cabin that truly encompasses cabin living because when the sun goes down around Vintage Valley the ONLY lights are the ones in the house! It gave us a wonderful feeling of getting away from the city. For the price too, it was reasonable, flaws and all. Heart and Soul is different yet literally right across the street from Vintage Valley. This can be an issue for some but I can tell you that if you stay at one cabin and there is another group/guests staying across the street you do still have that private and secluded feeling especially at Heart and Soul. By the time you walk to the back yard you are surrounded by trees making it difficult for passerby's to see you at the fire pit. Heart and Soul has three LARGE bedrooms each with their own shower and toilet. It is more updated than Vintage Valley but still has a rustic cabin feel to it that we loved. My roommate and I stayed on the first floor as there were TWO Queen sized beds on the first floor bedroom. Right off the bedroom was the deck and grill! Kitchen was a nice size that provided ample space for working on food. We eat a LOT of vegetables so cutting/preparing them for the grill was easy to do in the kitchen then carry it to the grill. Overall, two GREAT places to stay at when you NEED to escape the city or just need some time away; Lazy Lane cabins definitely has a little bit of everything for anyone who truly enjoy the outdoors whether it's grilling and sitting by a bonfire or just relaxing in a cozy cabin (that's just the frosting on the whole cake of what there is to do in Hocking Hills), then check out one of the MANY cabins Lazy Lane has available.

Each cabin is far enough from the others with enough forest between them that you truly feel secluded in your own private site. We absolutely love The Crows Nest and I cannot recommend it enough nor give enough praise to the owners of Springwood due to their attention to detail and the perfect and spotless condition that they keep the cabin in. We've stayed at many cabin rentals throughout Ohio and Springwood Cabins has made us feel the most welcome and relaxed. The moment you walk in, you can feel the love that the owners have put into the cabin. Crows Nest is a two bedroom cabin with a large open living/kitchen area and each bedroom has its own full private bath. The front porch is spacious with four rocking chairs and they've added a brand new covered back deck with a table and plenty of seating and a new hot tub. We spent our breakfast time on the back deck daily. There is also a brand new outdoor grill below. To the left of the cabin is a well maintained fire pit with three sturdy benches, so you don't even need to bring your own camp chairs if you don't want to. Speaking of needs, the cabin is provided with everything you could need, all you have to bring is your food. Seriously. They supply bath towels and wash cloths, hot tub towels, paper towels, extra trash bags, toilet paper, kitchen towels, a fully stocked kitchen of cookware and utensils and plates. The appliances are well kept and clean: coffee maker, microwave, toaster and Keurig (with Keurig cups supplied), even dog bowls for if you bring your pets. And the WiFi is solid as well. When you first walk in, there is soothing music playing and you feel at peace immediately. It is thoughtfully decorated, the kitchen towels are even folded neatly on the stove. In the island counter is a personalized welcome tent card and that little detail made it feel extra special. I am really trying to find something constructive to add but it's difficult because the place is just perfect. If anything, I wish there were some hooks on the bathroom doors to hang my clothes, there is only a towel bar in the bathroom. I eventually want to stay at the Crows Nest in the fall for the changing of leaf color, I can only imagine how beautiful it is. I'd recommend Springwood to anyone who wants to truly get away for some time without sacrificing comfort.

Four Seasons is a few minutes outside the town of Logan and maybe 20 minutes from the state park. The cabins are maybe a 10 minute drive from Kroger or 5 minutes from gas stations, downtown Logan, etc. The cabins were pretty easy to find. The 2 cabins are near each other, but still private. The Song Bird has 2 bedrooms with queen size beds, one bathroom, a covered hot tub, deck with charcoal grill and small patio table with 4 chairs, a wood burning fireplace (glorious!), full size fridge, small 4 burner gas stove, and small microwave. Song Bird is furthest back and doesn't offer much of a parking spot. there's a relatively steep hill on one side where you park and a little drop off on the other so not a lot of room to negotiate on the sides of the vehicle. We found it easiest to back into the spot so we didn't have to back down the long driveway which was hard to see because of fallen leaves, etc. The other cabin has a large parking area, which I coveted. The wooded area around the cabins is really pretty, especially during fall when we visited. The rentals are both pet friendly (although, thankfully our cabin did not smell like a dog). The grounds offer a small, picturesque pond with a paddle boat and gazebo, as well as hiking trails and fire pits. There is an orchard as well. There was no cell phone service here for us - we both had Verizon. No WiFi. No phone in the cabin that I saw. Song Bird's bathroom had 4 large towels, washcloths, hand towels and also had shampoo, conditioner and body wash there to use. Decent but small bathroom. The showerhead was a hot mess with water spraying in all the wrong directions. The bathroom has an overhead fan in case you ate chili cheese fries for lunch and don't want to kill the romance in the small cabin. The bedrooms had plenty of pillows. I could have used some extra, heavier blankets but that's because I like to sleep with blankets that weigh about the same as Andre the Giant. Maybe they were stashed somewhere and I didn't see them. The living room was comfortable. Leather couch near the fireplace. We purchased a crate of wood for $5 from Four Seasons and LOVED the wood burning fireplace. Pick up a newspaper or something so you have something to help start the fire. We used one of the Hocking Hills magazines as we had nothing else to use. We brought DVDs (Boardwalk Empire) and made good use of the DVD player there, but they do have satellite tv which was playing classical music when we arrived. There were cups, glasses, wine openers, silverware, plates, etc.in the kitchen. A coffee maker and a decent amount of coffee and powdered creamer left there from other renters. A hot plate, too, I think? A toaster. The only thing in the fridge was ketchup. Some pots and pans and bowls. You''ll be washing whatever you dirty so if you're not a fan of washing dishes bring some paper plates, plastic utensils and drink out of the wine bottle. During our visit the stove didn't work and there was no discount or anything offered. I chose this place partly because it had a stove (many cabins only have a microwave and mini fridge) so we could make breakfasts, etc. so I was bummed we couldn't cook at all. We found out at the last minute so couldn't find another cabin. The driveway to the rental office and to the cabins is a little hilly and bumpy. I kept thinking you'd need 4WD/AWD if you rented on a snowy day in the winter. It would be really cozy and beautiful there in the winter. I looked at a LOT of cabins before choosing Four Seasons and found Four Seasons to be more reasonably priced. The cabin was clean and decently decorated and cozy. Despite the fact that my relationship met its demise in Hocking Hills, I had a nice time at the cabin and would recommend it.

First thing is 100% the trees coming out of the driveway need to be trimmed back about 5 feet or a mirror needs to be put in the trees across the street so your guests can see. It was so nerve racking coming out of there every single time as we were worried we would get creamed by a car. Dave even almost got hit pulling out one day when he was there. It's only a matter of time before one of your guests get killed leaving that property. Another issue, we literally saw Dave every day we were there. Friday it was lawn work. Pretty sure that could've been done in between guests, while the cabin was being cleaned. Sunday it was bc the hot tub needed a filter. Then we were packing up today around 10:20 and he was already on the property doing stuff. How are people supposed to come and have a romantic weekend when you have the cabin keepers coming to the property every day? We found it very intrusive and awkward for our relaxing trip. The cabin has the potential to be a really really nice cabin if it was redone/remodeled/updated. We know people would be fighting for that rental being right on the lake and especially having a dock as well. It would be even better if it were more modern and more comfortable. You can just tell it's not as nice as some of the other rentals in the area. We've stayed in a couple and it's definitely nice coming back to a nicer placer that you paid for instead of a place that's just like a regular house. The furniture is old and dirty. The living room and bedroom is very dark and dusty. There are cobwebs on the beams and even in the rack above the oven with the pots and pans and the dishes on the shelves are dusty. If it was a nicer cabin you could charge more money to rent it out. We'd rather pay an extra $300 and stay in a nicer place with WiFi mind you. The only reason we took this one was because it was on the lake and had the dock and we had planned to have a boat with us, which didn't happen. But cabins directly on the lake with docks to rent are very rare in that area and y'all could really be getting so much more if it was nicer. But again we enjoyed our stay. I know not a lot of time is spent at the cabin when we are in the area but when we are at the cabin we want to comfortable and relaxed and not feel like we're being watched.

Being able to enjoy the hot-tub on the porch while being surrounded by forrest sounds and gorgeous views was just the reset we needed. My only true negative was that the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. I do think there are a few minor things that could make this cabin even better. (From a picky convenience point) -the couch is less for lounging and more for sitting up (like a waiting room) a soft ottoman would really improve the ability for couples to cuddle by the fire. -there are no couch side tables to set drinks on -the shower is SMALL (which is to be expected in a tiny cabin) if you added a shower head that can come down it would make it much easier to wash off mud from hiking because maneuvering in that tiny space is nearly impossible. - some sort of shelf/counter space for the bathroom that way if you are staying longer you can keep your necessities stored in there.

When I showed up we were shown the beds and given the opportunity to walk around with the cabin owner. Everything looked clean. We stayed 4 nights and there were no bites between the 6 of us. Ok now that part is done -- the cabin is a bit past it's prime. There is no Wi-Fi. I am a worry wart so I was nervous about the structure of the home. Starting at the top portion of the house: there were three beds up on the left, careful of the second (or was it the third) from the top stair which isn't truly a stair anymore, it's leaning at a 45 degree angle so it would be easy to slide down the stairs if you aren't using the stair rail. The main floor: the bedroom on this floor is perfectly fine, though the bed is a bit springy. It is connected to a LARGE bathroom with a jet garden tub. The kitchen is lacking cabinet space and counter space, if you are planning on cooking. The fridge is also void of the drawers, and door rails so there's no stage on the door. The stove has seen better days but mostly works fine. The living room has 2 couches, 1 love seat, wood burner, and an older box TV. The floor is a bit weak in here, seemed like one good ragger away from caving in. There are two ways to get to the wrap around porch which is also way past it's prime. That's really all I'll say about that because it's fine enough. There is a grill. The basement: this is where the shower is located. It's also where you get to the hot tub. Other than that there wasn't anything amiss downstairs. Everything was pleasant, it was clean and everything smelled good. There were plenty of clean towels and the kitchen has enough in there, that most people can cook about anything. We found 1 tick the entire time we were there (4 nights 5 days)

First of all, there is no address to this place. We looked at the address on the website, however it takes you to a location about an hour away from the actual castle. So, we arrived about 2 hours later than we anticipated. Driving around the middle of nowhere in the dark looking for a destination with no address was quite a challenge. When I called to get directions, I was treated extremely poorly from someone who I assume is the owner of the house. He reluctantly gave me some directions, but was not pleasant at all to deal with. When we arrived at the house, it was infested with ladybugs. Literally hundreds and hundreds of ladybugs inside the house. They were covering the ceiling and walls, and were in the bed. Absolutely awful. The woman who showed us around when we arrived said they had fumigated the day prior (not a pleasant welcome), and that they shouldn't be a problem. Well, they were. We could not sleep, there were ladybugs flying everywhere, crawling over everything. Terrible. And lastly, the hot tub. It smelled of mildew and mold. We did not use it because we could not bring ourselves to get into it. A hot tub used by the general public should be treated with chemicals regularly, and this one clearly had not been. Absolutely awful. So, we departed after only one night, although we had booked for two nights. I have called the owners of the house, and have not received a call back. $430 down the drain, and there is no effort thus far to make things right or even respond to the issues we had. Needless to say, we will never return to this place, and I do not recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I booked the "Briarwood" cabin at Sunrise Log cabins for our anniversary, and had a…read morewonderful experience! - for the price, we have seldom had a better experience! The cabin was fairly secluded, but not too far from shopping... It's in a back road, and though there were some other dwellings nearby, we never felt intruded upon or otherwise near anyone else (note: we were there in late winter, so the trees were bare... In the late spring/summer/fall, this wouldn't be a factor). The cabin itself was FLAWLESSLY maintained and equipped... We had plenty of firewood, propane, toilet paper, dishes, utensils, etc. Everything was clean and in it's place... The kitchen, bathroom, outdoor propane grill, and hot tub were immaculate... Decor was just what it should be; log cabin charming... Our cell phones had no service, but internet and satellite TV worked reliably... Even had a blue-ray player and a small but adequate sound-system that we could hear on the back porch while having a romantic dinner al fresco... Clean and functional bathroom with shower, bath, modern toilet, large capacity hot water tank, first aid kit, plunger, vacuum, etc... Seriously, better equipped than even your better motor lodges.. There are even some personal touches/fun games that the proprietors play with their guests, if you wish to participate (Just make sure to read the guest book/literature that is left for you!) :-) A day spa, this is not.. But for a TRUE quaint, "home-away-from-home," it is... We WILL be back, and WILL recommend to friends... Well done!!!

The cabin was gorgeous and exceptionally clean,…read morethe kitchen was equipped with all of the necessities for cooking, the bed was comfortable, and the place was so cute and cozy. It is located close to the office and the larger cabin/lodge, but it is set in a way that we still had complete privacy. We enjoyed the cat that was often there when we opened the door, and also had a lot of fun with the dollar game! We spoke with the owners a couple of times during our stay and they were great as well! We will definitely be back! I can't think of any reason to stay anywhere else!
