We were so excited for a relaxing weekend away, but when we arrived, the steep gravel driveway to our cabin was impossible to drive up. Our vehicle lost traction and began sliding backward, which was frightening and unsafe -- especially with kids in the car. Nowhere on their website or in the booking confirmation did it say that four-wheel drive was needed to reach the cabin. Lazy Lane later tried to excuse it by saying "it's Hocking Hills," but that doesn't mean every cabin in the area requires special vehicles. Any reputable business should clearly disclose if their property isn't safely accessible by a standard car. When we called for help, the only advice we were given was to park at the bottom of the hill and carry our luggage, groceries, and children up the steep driveway in the dark -- an unacceptable and unsafe suggestion. We had no choice but to turn around and go home, completely devastated. We reached out immediately and followed up several times, but it took days to even get a response. By then, they claimed they couldn't refund us because they had already paid the cabin owner -- even though we called the same night the issue happened. That is not the customer's fault; it's a breakdown in how they handle problems. They later offered two free nights as a "good faith" gesture, but they had to be used before the end of the year. With school and work schedules, that offer was useless to us. Lazy Lane Cabins failed to take responsibility, communicate effectively, or provide any meaningful resolution. We had no choice but to turn around and drive home, ruining our long-anticipated weekend and wasting hundreds of dollars in groceries and gas. We contacted Lazy Lane immediately and followed all of their instructions, but they were unresponsive for days. By the time they finally replied, they said they couldn't refund us because they had already paid the cabin owner -- even though we notified them the night of the issue. That's not the customer's fault; it's a failure of their business process. They later offered two free nights as a "good faith" gesture, but only if used before the end of the year. That offer was useless to us since our kids are back in school and our vacation time is gone. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but Lazy Lane still refused to issue a refund and continued to insist that the problem was ours. My hubby and I made a last minute decision to spend the weekend in Hocking Hills to do some hiking. We found Lazy Lane Cabins through a web search and the only cabin available on such short notice was Crooked Creek Cottage. I doubt we'll ever go back to the cabin we used to stay in after this cabin!! Check-in was a piece of cake. Due to Covid there was zero contact and we were able to grab our key in seconds. Their instructions to the cabin were a Godsend since GPS is worthless in the Hills. We found the cabin without any issues. What is great about this cabin is it's five miles from Old Man's Cave and it's on the same road. With our old cabin we would always get a little lost looking for the caves, but not this time. Once again, piece of cake. The cabin is very roomy and comfortable. The hot tub was AMAZING and the bed was comfy. There is also a pizza place two minutes away called Hunt Brothers Pizza that had THE BEST pizza!! The issues we had were very minimal. We had hoped to explore the property since the ad said it was sitting on 6 acres of land, but unfortunately there are quite a few cabins in the area that made it impossible to explore. And the television was so small, it made watching our movies at night very difficult. The sound on the TV was just awful. But we made do! We will definitely return to this cabin the next time we feel the need to visit the Hills. read more

Another great stay with Lazy Lane. I stayed in Cardinal's Crest this time. It was clean, nicely appointed and super cozy. I loved soaking in the hot tub after my hike. This morning I felt bad when I went out for a short walk and disturbed all the grazing deer! I can't say how much I appreciated the peace and quiet. read more

My husband took me and our dog to one of Lazy Lane's cabins in November 2013 as an anniversary surprise. The staff are super friendly and welcomed us upon arrival to the main office. They gave us instructions on how to get to our cabin which were very helpful because our cabin was waaayyyy back in the woods and I don't think our GPS would have found it. We took our dog with us to a pet friendly cabin they offered. We stayed in the triangle shaped cabin. I don't remember what it was called exactly. Everything was great until we arrived at the cabin. The inside of the cabin was clean but not cozy at all like I was hoping. The couch was hard, leather, and not comfortable at all. The floors were cold tile and the walls were bare studs. I guess I expected the walls to have wood boards across them like a traditional cabin. There was a little stove/fireplace which was nice. The stairs going upstairs to the bedrooms were STEEP! Our dog couldn't climb them because they were so steep. I was even afraid of falling down them. The bed was hard as a rock and because of the triangle shape of the house, the walls tilted in and we both bumped our heads a few times. I literally got only a few hours of sleep the entire weekend. The kitchen was nicely set up. Nice, large refrigerator, stove, sink, and a few appliances. The bathroom was also very nice and clean. Now, I realize that we were deep in the woods and there are bugs, but I didn't expect there to be so many bugs inside the cabin. It all started with the ladybugs. Hundreds of them were crawling inside the cabin walls, floor, counter tops, etc. Ok, so there are ladybug infestations in the woods all the time but what I didn't expect was the cockroach we found in the kitchen. It crawled out from under the refigerator and I smashed it with my shoe. It was as big as a penny. I kind of freaked out but decided I wouldn't leave unless more showed up and I never saw another one after that. Thankfully! The TV in the livingroom was the size of a computer monitor which was a little annoying. I guess you don't stay in Hocking Hills to watch TV but I wanted to watch the news at night but could barely see the TV from the couch so I had to wheel it much closer. The saving grace of this cabin was the hot tub. It was clean, properly cared for, and hot when we arrived. It was kind of cool to hang out in the hot tub while it snowed. We heard a few animals creeping through the woods while we were in there so it made the experience exciting. While I don't think we will ever go back to this particular cabin again, I do think that we would go through Lazy Lane cabins if we ever stay in Hocking Hills again. They were friendly and I know that if we would have complained, they would have helped us out. We only stayed two nights so it didn't seem right to complain about a few bugs. For the price, it wasn't worth the stay in this cabin. I would have preferred a better, less-bug filled cabin. read more

Overall, really good experience. Staff was wonderful. Super friendly and nice. We rented the Sky Breeze. Largest with wifi on site laundry with three levels and sleeps six. No pets allowed on this one. Heads up it is on a hill so be prepared and this wasn't shared upon our confirmation email. Luckily we have four wheel drive. Also, their policies are extended. Really extended. Basically if you don't comply to their policies you get charged including but not limited to doing your own dishes for the next guests, taking out your own trash among other many things. To their defense there are a lot of guests they welcome so they have to run a tight operation. Still my only feedback to that is not leaving a tip in the envelope for work they are not performing. Sorry gang. I don't mind holding up my end of the bargain but please don't look for tips for work the company doesn't perform. Tips: pack your own detergent, soap and dish washing liquid. Very little available and left in I'm assuming each property so bring your own. Flat screen TVs. DVD movie options all great choices: My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Scent of a Woman, Good Fellas. Nice welcoming...we had a "Welcome Kirk and Laura" on our front door upon arrival. Would consider again. Less than an hour from Columbus. Nice experience. read more

Pretty close to trails and the hidden cave on the property was super cool. The cabin, Hidden Cave, was kind of a dud though. I don't mind cleaning up after myself, so that was okay. But we couldn't use the hot tub. The water was just too cold and we couldn't adjust the temperature. We called the property owners and asked them to turn up the heat. He either didn't show up or felt the temperature was fine where it is. Major bummer. Some of the fixtures were pretty janky too. Loose doorknobs that come off in your hand, a bedframe that was barely hanging on, and a random curtain on one of the windows where the others had none made the experience blah to say the least. My boyfriend and I stayed at Creekside Hideaway recently. The cabin is .. well a cabin so we expected that. It was clean. The water is very foul smelling due to well water. But we only needed the cabin to sleep and eat so it was fine. We hiked both days and spent the evening by the fire pit and cooking on the grill. Hot tub was nice as it's covered in a screened in porch and was great listening to the rain. Cable or Dish did not work but that was okay with me. No cell service, also okay with me. Secluded which was very nice. We would not stay in this cabin again but would be interested in one of the others at a later time. Check in and check out was easy and no contact. read more

We just spent a couple nights at the Serenity Ridge cabin. The quaintness of the cabin was perfect for my husband and me to get away from city living. The mattress on the bed desperately needs replaced. It was like sleeping in a "V" and we kept rolling toward the center. It was by far the worse mattress we have ever slept on. The couch in the living room was also extremely uncomfortable. The back and seat gapped severely, causing us to not be able to comfortably sit on it while watching TV. There was only a rocking chair to sit in so our options were limited. The faucet in the bathroom didn't turn off all the way, so due to it constantly dripping, the sink has a rust stain on the bottom. The hot tub was a nice way to relax after hiking. It does have a grill on the patio, small stove, fridge and microwave. There is no tub (shower only). If the mattress and couch was replaced, we would seriously consider staying again. read more

We stayed at the Casa Del Sol cabin. It was spacious and much larger than the pictures would indicate. It was on a nice, wooded lot--although the driveway was steep and rutted. (Rent a 4-wheel drive truck if you dont already own one!) My only complaint is that they do the bare minimum to keep things maintained. Every window had a window crank that was stripped and it made it difficult to open the windows. There were no curtains on any of the windows--would have been nice to keep the sun out of the upstairs bedrooms during the day. The cleaning staff never dust--all of the tables in the living room were coated with a layer of it. I still give this place 3 stars because it is an excellent value for the money and you have lots of room. When planning your trip, you will want to bring along a lot of food and beverage as it is a 30+ minute drive to the nearest restaurant/stores (save for the Grouse's Nest Restaurant down the street). This place has a nice kitchen and a large grill and firepit and so I recommend cooking at home. read more

We stayed in the Pleasant View cabin back in 2010 and we had a great time. Now, to be perfectly honest, it's not the most luxurious cabin we've ever stayed in (when compared to some of the actual 'luxury' ones we have rented once or twice for big family celebrations) - but it certainly is as pleasant as most. Clean and comfy, and sporting every appliance and piece of equipment (including BBQ and outdoor hot tub) that we could want, I have little or nothing to complain about. So far, so mediocre, right? Except, the *real* reason we stayed at Pleasant View was because it is (a) pet friendly and (b) comes with 83 acres of private woodland and prairie to enjoy for yourselves! No, that is not a misprint: 83 beautiful acres of your own private wilderness. So, we had our labrador (Finnegan) not only off the leash pretty much all the time, but also he was able to accompany me on runs through the fields and trails that were all ours to enjoy. We're super worried (to frankly silly levels) about our dog wandering off or getting into some sort of trouble, and so having a safe environment that we can enjoy fully with him is of paramount importance to us. Once again, that's why Pleasant View was pretty much a revelation to us. We sat around in the fields, using the portable garden furniture provided, and had some of the sunniest and laziest days we've ever enjoyed together. We liked it so much in fact, that I've just booked us in for another 4 nights in July. I cannot wait! Couple of things to keep in mind: 1. Finnegan could not sleep upstairs with us (the steps up were WAY too steep for a dog to come down headfirst - they were pretty much like a ladder). We did make the mistake of coaxing him up with us on the first night, only to then be faced with the back breaking tasks of me carrying his 90 lb ass down the steps in the morning! So, this time we'll bring his crate and let him sleep downstairs obviously. 2. Regarding customer service, I got to say I found them to be very nice people indeed. Finnegan freaked out on the last day while we were watching TV - he saw some other dog on there and went ballistic. He ended up knocking the TV over and breaking it! So, I went down to the office and obviously had to pay for a replacement TV. I guess I was pretty anxious that they would try to demand a very expensive replacement fee, but I think we ended up with it being about $100, and I was satisfied with that. They were cheery about it all and it left me with a good feeling about the whole experience (if not with a good feeling about Finnegan!) All in all, I'd say that, while I might not necessarily decide to return to this cabin were it not for the pet friendly side of things, because we *do* want to bring our beloved mutt on vacation with us, then the 83 acres and the nice cabin definitely make this our favorite little Shangri-La in the Ohio hills and so we heartily recommend this cabin to you all. read more

We rented the "Trail Ridge" cabin for our anniversary. Check-in was VERY fast (5 mins) and the person at the counter was extremely nice. I am not sure why others have not had this level of customer service, but I felt they were great. It is a studio type (1 big room) but had everything we needed and then some. It was the cleanest cabin I have ever stayed in and felt roomy with cathedral type ceilings. The cabin was at the end of the road, so it was totally secluded and so romantic. We turned off the lights and sat in the hot tub and watched the lightning bugs. The deck faces a ravine and it was beautiful. The kitchen had plenty of supplies (We had eggs/bacon/hash browns for breakfast and hamburgers on the grill for dinner). It was close to the area attractions and hiking. There is no cell phone service, but you should expect this since it is in the hills and it was a nice break from all of the technology. Bring your own pillows, as the pillows were pretty flat. The sulfur smell was really strong in the shower/sinks, but again this is because it is a cabin in the woods. My hair felt the softest it has in years! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any couple looking for a romantic get--away. read more

Just got home from out trip to Hocking Hills...we stayed at the Vintage Valley cabin...it was rustic and homey! It was clean, bug and mouse free and had all the amenities we needed for our 3 day trip. They give you starter tp, dish soap and paper towels...we used no more than that. The office to check in at was very clean, organized and friendly staff The fire ring,grill and front porch were our main spots to relax and all maintained very well! I would recommend highly to stay with Lazy Lanes and we def would again! read more

3-1/2 would be more accurate. We stayed in Blue Jay. The cabin was pretty well kept and cleaned other than the dishes which was a bummer. This was due to their policy of requiring guests to wash their own dishes.. what the!? You also have to take out your own trash, easy enough but required chores are not exactly my idea of a high note at the end of my vacation. Another star down for the quite uncomfortable bed. We have been twice and stayed @ Cedar Pines cabin. We are going back in the spring. The cabin is beautiful, secluded and clean. It is very reasonably priced and staff is friendly. Lazy Lane Cabins - Guest Houses Near Me - Logan, Ohio

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Liberty Cabin at Lazy Lane in May of this year. The cabin was just as shown on the pictures. If anything, it was bigger than I expected for a 2 person cabin. The check-in was quick (5 minutes tops) and painless. The place was clean and all supplies for standard cooking were there as described. The grill was clean. The hot tub was perfect after a 4+ hour hike on Saturday. We also took our dog with us on the trip. The property was wide open and great for her to run around in the front/side yards. They also had dog dishes for our use, which was great since we forgot to bring ours along. As we were sitting in the hot tub, we were already talking about making another trip with friends and/or making our trip an annual thing. Thanks for the great weekend! read more

GREAT PLACES TO STAY FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO ESCAPE THE CITY FOR A FEW DAYS!!! Myself and those who were with me at the cabins we visited (Vintage Valley and Heart & Soul) have created some lasting memories, special and memorable moments, and just a heart warming time of reflection and relaxation. Vintage Valley is a simple cabin. Two bedrooms upstairs ( A queen sized bed in one room, two twin beds in the other room). Downstairs is a good sized a kitchen that 4 people can sit and eat adequately (One side of the table is close to the stove and wall but the table can be moved/adjusted. Also, the ONLY bathroom is off of the kitchen so that can be a little unsettling for some but we didn't mind. The shower head does need to be adjusted at times during use as well. The living room is where we sat to unwind when we were not outside. The couch cushions do feel worn/used (We sunk right into the couch on some points) but a thick blanket over the couch fixed that and it was relaxing and comfortable. The MAIN issue on the first floor though IS the floor. There were parts of the floor that felt uneven. Some were so uneven that it actually felt like the whole house was leaning, especially in the living room. Overall, Vintage Valley is a rustic cabin that truly encompasses cabin living because when the sun goes down around Vintage Valley the ONLY lights are the ones in the house! It gave us a wonderful feeling of getting away from the city. For the price too, it was reasonable, flaws and all. Heart and Soul is different yet literally right across the street from Vintage Valley. This can be an issue for some but I can tell you that if you stay at one cabin and there is another group/guests staying across the street you do still have that private and secluded feeling especially at Heart and Soul. By the time you walk to the back yard you are surrounded by trees making it difficult for passerby's to see you at the fire pit. Heart and Soul has three LARGE bedrooms each with their own shower and toilet. It is more updated than Vintage Valley but still has a rustic cabin feel to it that we loved. My roommate and I stayed on the first floor as there were TWO Queen sized beds on the first floor bedroom. Right off the bedroom was the deck and grill! Kitchen was a nice size that provided ample space for working on food. We eat a LOT of vegetables so cutting/preparing them for the grill was easy to do in the kitchen then carry it to the grill. Overall, two GREAT places to stay at when you NEED to escape the city or just need some time away; Lazy Lane cabins definitely has a little bit of everything for anyone who truly enjoy the outdoors whether it's grilling and sitting by a bonfire or just relaxing in a cozy cabin (that's just the frosting on the whole cake of what there is to do in Hocking Hills), then check out one of the MANY cabins Lazy Lane has available. read more

The "Cabin on the Pond" had a bedbug infestation. My family was covered with bites. When we asked about a refund we were treated rudely -- the management acted as if we were making the whole thing up. There are many nice cabins to rent in Hocking Hills. Cabins without bedbugs. Beyond disappointing. The arrowhead bluff cabin was ill maintained musty and dirty. Torn screens no lightbulbs black mold on the side of the freezer door and advertised as brand new on their website! Keep in mind the guest books in the cabin date back to 2005. Not sure how they're allowed to get away with advertising that false! Lesson learned we won't be using their services again. read more

Lazy Lane cabin was great but we were extremely disappointed in the lack of communication with your office. There were 9 of us in our party and we came in 3 cars, all at separate times of the day. Your office informed us that they would not give us the cabin address until we actually checked in. All well and good except it was never mentioned that there would be no cell service at the cabin and your check in instructions specifically stated that under no circumstances were we to use a GPS to get to the cabin. We had to keep sending someone down to your office to wait for the rest of our party to arrive and they were getting upset because they had tried to call us but realized there was no cell signal. Why is it such a secret to give out the cabin's address once a guest has paid -------- I have never had that happen before. The cabin we rented was advertised as having a pool table and a ping pong table which was the main reason we wanted this particular cabin. However, when we arrived we searched the entire cabin for the ping pong and pool equipment which was no where to be found. We tried calling your office several times on the cabin phone but there was such a terrible buzzing sound that we could hardly hear when someone finally answered. Whoever answered told us that due to the Pandemic they weren't supplying game equipment anymore because it was too hard to sanitize and that we could go to Walmart and buy those items. We understand things have changed because of the Pandemic but we would have appreciated knowing this in advance as we could have brought our own. We were also told that the gal in the office would have the owners call us but we never received a call from anyone. Letting people know this in advance would definitely save you some phone calls from unhappy guests. One of your checkout instructions state that you would appreciate a courtesy call when we are ready to leave. We tried calling several times on the cabin phone but nobody ever answered. We hope someone can fix the phone as you have to dial several times before it connects and the buzzing is so bad that Im not sure how anyone would be able to get help in a medical emergency. read more

Our cabin was amazing! My boyfriend and I stayed in the Buckeye Bungalow for 4 nights & 3 days and I have nothing but great things to say about our stay. Let me just say, the cabin is absolutely beautiful--modern & clean. We absolutely loved the hot tub! We were in there 2-3 times each day. Before I launch into my critique, I would like to say that we did have a lovely time in our cabin (Hocking Cottage by the Lake, I believe it was called). It was neat, clean, spacious, well-equipped. It felt homier than our actual home. The price was nice ($129/night for a whole cabin) and I looooooved having the spa outside. The bed seemed a little smallish, but the sheets were wonderfully soft, even if the pillows were a bit flat. (We also chose the cabin that we chose because Lazy Lanes has some of the few cabins I saw online that don't look like they were decorated by Aunt Bea.) That having been said, I can't quite give Lazy Lanes five stars, although I'd certainly go back again. I'm actually quite put off by the customer service expectations of many of the cabins we looked at in Hocking Hills before settling on Lazy Lanes, but I'll focus on their policies alone since we stayed there. I completely understand some of their policies--like not messing with hot tub settings or not smoking inside. I wouldn't want someone smoking in my rental, either, or breaking my hot tub. I think the level of housekeeping they expect you to do is a little extreme, though. (Also? Even though you practically have to do all the housekeeping yourself, there's an envelope left on top of the microwave for a tip. Yes, let me tip you for doing my own dishes, putting my own clean dishes away, reusing my towels per their request, taking out my own trash, and generally leaving the place with about 20 minutes' worth of cleaning to be done). Things that you don't leave practically immaculate "may result in an extra charge" on your bill. Oh, but if the cable that was promised goes out or the spa breaks down, you get no credit or refunds for that. In fact, there doesn't seem to be any kind of extenuating circumstance that might allow someone to be credited or refunded their money. I understand they lose revenue, but their policies just seem too extreme. It was a little off-putting and, as much as I liked the cabin--a lot--it's hard for me to give money to people who are not really that interested in developing a customer-owner relationship. Some other negatives about the cabin: it wasn't at all secluded (a house was a stone's throw away) despite seeming so in the description/photos, the lake level was down so the beautiful vistas promised by the photos weren't there, total lack of light outside and it can be difficult to see going in and out at night. Otherwise, it was really nice--I probably wouldn't go when it was full price during the season, but I'd definitely take another off-season getaway. read more

When we arrived at the cabin everything looked wonderful. We when to dinner that evening and returned early to our cabin to take a dip in the hot tub. It was warm that evening so we didn't stay in long. Shortly after getting out of the hot tub I noticed a few red bumps on my husbands skin, they looked like bug bites. We thought he may have been bitten while we were outside. The next evening we got in the hot tub and within 10 minutes we had to get out because my husband was covered with red bumps that itched severely. We later found out that he had "Hot Tub Rash" (Pseudomonas Folliculitis) an infection of the hair follicle caused by Pseudomonas bacteria. This condition is commonly seen in people who swim in a pool or spa that is contaminated with the bacteria. These particular bacteria can grows ramped in pools and spas where the pH is not monitored closely. It affected my husband more than me because he has a lot more body hair than I do. He will likely have the itchy rash for at least two to three more weeks. When I brought this to the attention of the staff at Lazy Lane Cabins they simple said yes I think that hot tube was drained after you left. I don't believe that it was but I wish it would have been drained and cleaned before we got there!!! read more

We recently stayed at Shady Hollow Cabin #1. My husband and I were looking forward to a 2 night get away kid free. I tried to find a reasonably priced cabin that was cozy and quiet so we could relax while we were away. When we checked in their list of things that could possibly go wrong (power outage, well pump stop working, satellite tv stop working, bugs and mice from time to time) they said it was just part of being in the woods and you just have to deal basically. You would not get a refund. Fine. I signed on the dotted line. We pull up to our cabin. It is not a cabin it is a small brown metal outbuilding with more paint peeled off then on the door and window frames. This is not what I saw in the picture. I did love the little creek that you could hear bubbling and the hot tub was very nice. And then we went inside. The musty smell took our breath away and we had to step back outside. It was horrible. We did not bother to complain to management after signing their agreement that basically said you would get no refund for any reason. What could they do to fix it? They would just tell us to open the windows. It faded some or else we got used to it, but any time we entered the cabin after being outside it was difficult to adjust. You can't tell me that the housekeepers didn't notice when they were there last-it was horrible. Decorations were fine. Not modern, but a comfy feel and you could tell someone put thought into it. It seemed very clean which I appreciated. But that musty smell..... YUCK. The fridge was starting to rust on the outside which was not real appealing, but opening it up it was spotless. Again, I appreciate that. However-the tip envelope on the microwave for the housekeepers-are you kidding me? You don't give me fresh towels each day, the smell in there is awful, I wash my own dishes, the dead mouse on the kitchen floor we disposed of the next morning-what am I tipping for? Anyway, I felt badly that we weren't thrilled with my choice of cabin and although their other cabins may be nicer, we would not stay here again or rent with this company. The pictures I looked at online were quite obviously from the day they moved the furniture in. It was faded and had bleach spots on the couch. We are landlords and we take pride in the look of the home we rent to others and in turn they have taken good care of it. I realize it is different when the turnover is much faster, but they definitely need to update the couch and chair, rug-I've stayed at dive hotels with nicer furniture. It just took away from some of the charm we were hoping to feel. We had fun outside of the cabin so the rest of the trip was good. It's just not worth risking the money in my opinion. read more

We recently stayed in one of Lazy Lane's cabins while on a trip to Hocking Hills. To give credit where credit is due, the cabin itself was reasonably nice (although there are probably higher quality cabins to be had in the area), the yard was maintained beautifully, and the hot tub was wonderful. We brought our dog and were happy to find a place that would allow us to do this (albeit for an additional charge). However, two days after arriving home the cabin's management informed me through e-mail that my credit card had been charged almost $300 to repair damage caused by my dog. While unfortunately I didn't notice this damage either when checking in or out, it seems unlikely to have been caused by our dog since she was either in her crate or with us the entire time. I called to explain this and all the woman I spoke to said was "the charges stand, speak to our management." As it's not worth my time arguing further with the folks at Lazy Lane I will just pay, but I doubt I'll stay with them again. I suggest if you do decide to stay at a Lazy Lane cabin you should thoroughly inspect your cabin and document any issues you find so you aren't stuck paying for damage you didn't cause. Overall: Cabin gets a B-, customer service gets a D. read more

We stayed at the Cedar Pines cabin and had a great experience. The check-in was quick (you do have to go to the office to check-in) and efficient. The cabin was well-kept, bug-free, and had all the amenities they noted. I've stayed at a lot of cabins down there and never had any issues with Lazy Lane properties, would definitely recommend them. Oh, they do need new beds though, the mattress is tough! read more

The cabin werented was efficient enough, but the service was bad. The lady in charge was rude and seemed to busy to talk to us. Although her help was friendlier. I'm chalking it up to the many tourists they see and have to deal with. A pleasant experience if it wasn't for her. read more

My husband and I decided to go to stay at Pleasant View (lazy lane) for the Thanksgiving weekend with our small dog (cairn terrier). After the drive to the office to get the key we were given directions to get to our cabin (10 miles away). While checking in at the office the lady was not friendly at all. Wouldn't look up from her paperwork to greet me. We arrive at our cabin and walk in - we couldn't belive how small the cabin was. The website makes it look alot bigger. On the website it said it could sleep 4 people. No way. There is a full (but small) bathroon downstairs. When we decided to look at the bedrooms upstairs we could barely climb the steps because they were so narrow and difficult to climb without falling. We get to the top and look to the left at the small master bedroom, then look to the right and the second bedroom is tiny. The walls(ceilings) are right above your head/ I must say this was an A frame house - a very tiny A frame house. I got an anxiety attacks sleeping up there. The second bathroom was actually in the closet by the bedrooms. At night we had to carry our young dog up the steps holding on to each other hoping we didn't fall down the steps to go to sleep. They do have a lot of instructions about cleaning the cabin and they do want a tip because they have a tip envelope on the microwave. What are we tipping for? We are doing all the work. The hottub only worked the first night and no other nights. Glad after hearing other peoples issues (rashes) that we did not use it. I would not recommend this to anyone read more

UPDATE 7/28/16: Yelpers - see below where the owner responded. Note that NONE of that was said to my face, nor a personal phone call or even an email, the person is assuming that I was told things because they weren't even there, and they still have every penny of my money. Yelpers are smarter than that Lazy Lane, and will see through that fake internet attempt at appeasement. And my "assumption" is based on how we were treated, not a guess. Address your repeated customer service concerns, employ reasonable policies and this won't be a problem for your business in the future as it was with me, and past guests via their yelp reviews. BTW who in their right mind sits in a blacked out cabin for more than ten minutes and waits for the office to close? C'mon.... And to the owner, I am not Anne. I am the other nameless one. I do accept your apology for the subtle discrimination. Dont do it!! Horrible customer service. Seriously, ridiculous. My partner bought a night there last weekend as a surprise to welcome me to an area she picked to showcase her home state. Got to the cabin, the power was out. We paid for the buckeye cabin which had a jacuzzi...that cant be utilized with no electricity..heat was also out and electricity was gone. Obviously, no one can be expected to stay in a remote cabin all night with no heat, light, or electricity right? Front desk woman refuses to refund even though we immediately returned the keys due to the unlivable conditions. We were standing in the cabin for maybe ten minutes before we escaped. Also, for LGBT people and people who aren't bigots..beware spending your hard earned money here. This is the type of place that digs subtle discrimination based on their actions. Check this out - we happened to accidentally drive up to someone else's cabin while locating ours. On the door, there was a sign that said "Welcome Tyler and Jennifer". When we arrived at our cabin, the sign said welcome... but had my partner's first name and my last name. Lol some neanderthal couldn't bear to write both of our first names but happy to take our gay money. At least deny the reservation; I could've respected that more than being a bigot AND a crook. Pretty clear discriminatory insult. My partner was mortified. Keep the money Lazy Lane, I guarantee I make 4x what you make in a year so no biggie. But im happy to chip in if you'd like to legally change your name to "Lazy Ignorant Money Trap". My partner however is from Ohio and didn't deserve to be treated like that by anyone, much less in her own home state. read more

I should've stayed in a hotel, where I wouldn't have been shaken down with ludicrous charges to my credit card. Small claims court is a headache, so avoid this company at all costs. I lost faith in small-town businesses when lazy lane shafted me with fraudulent charges. There are many other companies with cabins in the area, so do yourself a favor and shop around. read more

DON'T RECOMMEND LAZY LANE CABINS We've been traveling to the beautiful Hocking Hills region for a few years and thought that this year we had found the perfect home for our annual trip. The Sunrise Forest cabin was roomy, somewhat well-equipped, and some of the beds were comfortable. One of the couches smelled like vomit, but we figured we could give the benefit of the doubt - they missed that during cleaning and it would be cleaned. Overall, we were fairly pleased. However, as I was getting ready to leave I dropped an earring on the bathroom floor, was immediately distracted by someone calling my name, and accidentally left the earring there. When I called just 36 hours later, I was told that "our housekeeper did find it where you said, but threw it in the trash because there was only one; and it is our policy not to keep anything guest leave." I was stunned. It was on the bathroom floor, there was only one, so the logical conclusion was to throw it away??? When I questioned the action of throwing a guest's found item in the trash, I was repeatedly told, "It's our policy," and "Well, it was your earring, so you should have kept track of it." I'll let that statement, one better suited for a toddler, stand on it's own. We will not stay there again, nor do we recommend Lazy Lane Cabins to anyone. read more

We stayed in Jack Pine Hollows, a studio cabin, and it by far exceeding our expectations. The cabin was wonderful - very new, nice amenities (TV, board games, plenty of cooking supplies), very clean. For a studio cabin, it's very spacious. It has a fantastic deck that overlooks a wooded area, complete with a grill, hot tub and rocking chairs. Our only recommendation would be to bring soap, shampoo, etc - not supplied with cabin. We would 100% choose this cabin to stay in again! read more

We have stayed with lazy lane 3 times. This visit we booked the Sugar Ridge cabin and it is our favorite! It is beautiful here! The walk down (or up) to this particular cabin from the parking spot is not for the weak of knees or heart but it is a gorgeous spot. Hot tub and fireplace are wonderful! The Lazy lane staff has always been friendly and helpful and we love staying in their cabins!! read more

Beware of this company. They are currently trying to scam me out of $300 in damages because of soot damage for a fire that never took place. Ironically we called twice about being allowed to start a fire and the owners came twice to help us, but they (the son of the owner and his girlfriend who is the house cleaner/maid) could not get it to work. We were nice about it as it was advertised as a working fireplace but they just had a glowing fake thing plugged into the wall which was most likely because the gas was broken. We enjoyed our 2 days then left. A week later I received a charge for $300 in damages for starting a fire in their fireplace, which never happened. Lazy Lane cabins did no investigation, nor did they try to contact me in anyway. I contacted them with my side of the story with information and confirmation from their employees about what happened. I never heard back from them and they continued the charge. They have now changed it to "Electric Fireplace" in the ad. Avoid Lazy Lane Cabins read more
