    Bed bug #2

**CAMPERS BEWARE** BEDBUGS. My husband just returned from Afghanistan and i planned him a surprise weekend camping trip to Chandlers Enchanted Acres. After a 3.25 hour drive, we arrived late at night and was greeted with a warm welcome. The room was not the cleanest, dead spiders, ants, cobwebs everywhere, even fruitflies in the fridge. but we laughed it up to the great outdoors. All was going well until throughout the night I found myself constantly waking up. Around 5 Am I finally woke my husband to say: "It feels like something is crawling on my body" we quickly turned the lights on and immediately found a bedbug crawling on me and 4 others crawling on the sheets and pillows. we called the owners quickly. the wife answer and she stated "its ok, we won't charge you and you can leave". 2 min later the Owner showed up, walked in the door and IMMEDIATELY blatantly accused of bringing bedbugs to the cottage and will charge us $750. He hadn't even looked at the bed yet. me and my husband I quickly packed us, threw out a lot of our brand new clothes out of fear of bringing bugs back to the house. We understand the great outdoors, but bed bugs are unacceptable. We told our family about how we had to cancel our camping plans and what happened. we logged online to show the family the cottage. to our surprise. the same Cottage #1, was back online AVAILABLE for the same day. They did nothing to try and clean the cottage, but instead but it back online for others to rent. by end of Saturday, I myself had 10 bites across my body and my husband had 12. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

    Cabin #3

We love hiking in Hocking Hills State Forest, but hate camping in the State Park (lots of litter throughout camp sites). So, this time we opted for a cabin. We were a bit anxious upon arrival because there's no sign, but we were soon relieved to find that we weren't headed to camp in someone's back yard but on a very nice wooded site. Everything was in order-- petite and comfortable cabins, picnic tables, fire pits, etc. Instead of a pit toilet, you'll find a port-a-potty that's as clean as most campgrounds and even comes with a heat lamp. Bring plenty of your own water, as the only source is a spigot on the back of the main house. Bring ear plugs-- noise from each cabin site travels pretty far, and there's no trees or bushes between sites to absorb the sound. We got lucky the first night, but on the second night there was so much noise that we could not have stayed without our ear plugs. The cabin owners are on site, and they are really nice. We especially liked the matriarch, as she was a women of few words. All in all, a good base camp for those planning to spend most of your time in the state park/forest-- though again, bring plenty of water and earplugs.

Great service! Had a good time, got cottage 1 and it was amazing. A lot of space, AC and a toilet in the cabin.

The online pictures created expectations that simply were not met when we arrived. To make matters worse, campsites were not clearly labeled, which resulted in another camper taking our reserved site. Management was very disorganized and, instead of taking responsibility and resolving issues efficiently, seemed to have an excuse for everything. The site we were ultimately assigned was basically a mud pit and not suitable for the premium price we paid. Many of the amenities advertised were either under construction or unavailable during our stay, yet this was not adequately communicated beforehand. We chose this campground and paid the higher rates expecting the advertised experience, but what we received fell far short. For the amount of money spent, this campground was simply not worth it. Hocking Hills itself is beautiful, but we left feeling frustrated and misled. Unfortunately, we will not be returning and cannot recommend this campground to others.

Cabin rental review: No just no. The rosebud cabin is…read moreabsolutely disgusting. The laminate floor is bubbled up and loose, no blinds on a window and fly stripes hanging in the windows. The mattress are thin and space is tiny tiny. Overall wouldn't recommend this Jellystone site. You have to pay for an additional car (they only allow one at a site), price of wood is higher than other places and you have to pay to do the swimming obstacle course. False advertisement for pool on the premises. Shower house on a Friday evening was ridiculous. The first door was locked to a shower, second one shower head didn't work, and the 4th was draining improperly, leaving one working shower. Would not recommend at all.
