We came for a bachelorette party for the weekend! It was perfect. Plenty of space and bedrooms for everyone. The hot tub was a hit too. The decor was super cute and the whole place was decorated very week. Such a great spot to go for a weekend getaway during COVID. Plenty of bath towels and other great basic amenities on site. This was such a perfect first time glamping experience. They thought of every detail - soft sheets, a dehumidifier in the bell tent, romantic outdoor showers. Loved cooking over a campfire, drinking fresh coffee in the morning (provided!) and hiking around their gorgeous property. They have a community bonfire area and it was so nice sitting by the fire and meeting some new people. The tent was totally gorgeous. There are tons of amenities and restaurants nearby in Logan so if you don't want to fuss with cooking over a fire - you can just go to a restaurant. This was a very fun, romantic experience. Magical place! Our stay was in a truly gorgeous lodge - complete with a large hot tub, and surrounded by incredible landscape and hiking on the grounds. There is also a pond and some Glamping yurts, so I look forward to coming back in the warmer weather. Crockett's run is now my go-to in Hocking Hills. read more

Visited Crockett's run recently on a vacation with friends and was so happy with the entire experience. We stayed at Morehead Lodge,it was so comfortable it felt like home. The place had everything we needed and more. Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable rooms, hot tub, fire pit, gorgeous views. I liked how updated everything felt while still having the cabin feel. My girls and made such wonderful memories with their friends exploring the pond, creek, and trails. We didn't feel like we were in Ohio. Liked how close restaurants and the store were to our cabin. So much fun to be had, we didn't want to leave. I've visited hocking hills multiple times and after my experience at Crockett's I will not stay anywhere else. read more

We stayed in Crockett's Lodge in March and lucked out with some great weather! The lodge was clean, well-appointed and came with everything we needed for the weekend. Our stay happened to be on the front end of the Coronavirus pandemic's effects on businesses here in Ohio, so it was a great secluded getaway a couple weeks before the stay-at-home order was put in place. It was a short walk from the lodge to nature trails and hiking, and we savored the quiet moments on the extensive balcony overlooking the pond. Ben & Megan were very communicative leading up to our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. Our group would definitely consider Crockett's Run again in the future! read more

They took my security deposit....for not 'cleaning' enough before we left. We actually left that cabin looking better than when we got there!! I have been fighting with the owners over my money but they refuse to give it back to me. It is disturbing how a 'family-run' business profits off of scamming people...they should be ashamed of theirselves... DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

I may update this review if the owner tries to pull any funny business with the deposit like Keith B claims (we cleaned that place very well). The cabin we stayed in was awesome. We had 13 people and it was spacious and comfortable enough for all of us. The location was solid, 10 minutes from grocery stores and 15-20 minutes from Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave and Stone House. The trash bag thing Keith B. mentioned was also annoying, but we managed by cramming everything into two. I would think a $1500 weekend in his cabin would net us enough trashbags, but whatever. The reason this is a 3 instead of a 4 has to do with the owner (I think he owned it). Some of my family were in the hot tub and laid the cover down on the deck. Keep in mind, my family members were all 27 years old and up. We weren't a bunch of teenagers. Instead of walking up to the deck, saying hello and asking nicely if we could hang the cover on this metal bar (no signs indicated we should do this), he sat on his Gator with two kids and yelled up to us from 20' below until we acknowledged him. He then explained to us that we should hang it up so it doesn't tear. There's a certain way to handle things and the way he handled it wasn't the way. You don't yell for your customers, you ask them nicely. Other than that bit of rudeness, the stay was great. I'd consider Crockett's Run again, but I'll certainly shop around beforehand. read more

We had an absolutely amazing trip to Crockett's Run! We stayed in the Morehead Lodge, and it was beautifully designed/decorated; we all (young kids included) wanted it to be our new home! Morehead is spacious and able to accommodate large families with ease. It also has a large porch, hot tub and fire pit. Crockett's Run has beautiful views, and quick, easy access to good hiking trails (and two waterfalls!), a pond with paddleboat and a playground. The owners were quick and attentive to all of our email questions before our weekend stay, and responsive to anything we needed while we were there. Our young children and adult family members alike all had the best time--so great that we booked another visit the day we left! Thank you, Crockett's Run! read more

The overall stay was actually pretty nice. When 12 friends and I arrived, the lodge was very clean and we were supplied with almost everything we would need. Our stay was very relaxing and we weren't bothered at all. However, we found the owner to be really unprofessional. He didn't return our security deposit due to "unordinary cleaning". This, of course, was absolutely not true, seeing as we cleaned the place top to bottom and left it in no worse shape then when we found it. Also, when having 12+ people staying for a weekend, you're going to use more than two trash bags. The owner wouldn't lend us another trash bag and wanted us to pay an extra fee for it. To me, it just seems that this guy tries to nickel-and-dime you where he can, when you're already spending a lot of money for the stay. This just didn't sit right with me, and that's why I rated them with 1 star. read more

The Morehead Lodge was beautifully designed and decorated. I felt at home, but also away at a retreat in the woods. I have literally no complaints and couldn't even think of a way to make the lodge better. Perfect for a vacation or getaway to the mountains! read more

We took a family trip and stayed at Sam Houston Lodge and couldn't have been happier with our decision! The house was spotless and the views were absolutely breathtaking. We had two kids under the age of 2 and we were able to walk them to the playground they have on their property. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch, and spending time in the hot tub. They also have nice walking trails with amazing views. It's a great location to the other caves in the Hocking Hills area. We've stayed at many cabins in the area and will only stay here from now on! We highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! read more

We held an extended-family reunion at Crockett's Run on June 21-23, 2013. We had all three lodges and both cabins. Family members of all income levels came from as far away as Alaska, San Francisco (where I live), San Diego, New York, Kansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Texas, Washington, D.C., and Ohio. Several told me essentially the same thing I'd been thinking before we got there: "Websites can be misleading. I sure hope this place is not a dive." All those who worried about that were pleasantly surprised. Everything was clean, well-maintained -- exactly what we'd all hoped for. Without exception, everyone said the place was great (as was the reunion), and several suggested we hold future reunions there. I stayed in Crockett's Lodge, but saw the other two lodges (not either cabin), so my specific knowledge is limited, though all "second hand" reports were as stated above. Crockett had several cozy indoor conversational areas, two outdoor on the deck, and plenty of room outside to get away from the crowd whenever that was one's preference. Our lodge was the focal point the whole weekend, and we often had 30+ people there with no one feeling cramped. (Had it rained, 30 still would fit inside for meais/conversation, though it would feel a bit cramped in that case.) Charlie (we didn't meet Sharry) was quite pleasant, and helpful when asked, but basically left us alone, which is what we all wanted. I'd give it a 5 rather than a 4, except that I virtually never give anything a 5. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights & when we walked in the place wasn't as clean as we thought it should have been. We opened the sofa bed & there were what looked like to be coffee stains all over the bed. When we were leaving for the weekend we cleaned the whole entire cabin INSIDE & OUT. They claimed that there was baby oil all over the place when nobody even had anything close to baby oil & that there was vomit all over the bathrooms which is completely untrue. They also said one of the blinds was broken but it was broken when we got there. They wouldn't give us our deposit back after this. Completely ripped us off for how much we cleaned that place & made sure it was perfect before we left. read more

Wonderful place! Nice to have enough wood supplied for a small camp fire. Charley and his wife (the owners) have stocked the place with everything you need for cooking. I was very impressed by how clean and well maintained the lodge was. I would stay here again. It is expensive though, but you do get a fabulous place for the money. read more
