Great tenting experience! Bathroom and showers were clean. Overall it was a very relaxing visit.

The cabin was nice, small. Just enough for the 2 of us. The fridge was a mini fridge so there was no freezer, which made prepping meals for the stay harder. In order to use the fire pit, you must purchase their fire wood which is inconvenient as well. They have a hidden fee for cleaning your cabin if you don't sweep the floor before you leave. They have a swimming pool which is smaller but we still enjoyed it. The office's hours are 10-7, which sucked for our attempt at an early checkout and on the road. The kitchen was closed our entire stay so we weren't able to order food here. We liked the cornhole which was next to our cabin. Another note is that the WiFi is absolutely terrible and will drop your devices constantly and only operates at 2G. The driveway up to the KOA also is super hard on your vehicle. This campground was close enough to hikes at Hocking Hills but we probably wouldn't stay ever again. read more

My first time camping and it was an overall pleasant experience. I called to make a last minute reservation and I was placed as close to my other party as possible. When I arrived, we were escorted to the site and given a quick overview of their offerings. The store onsite offered a variety of things and the Pizza and Wings were pretty good. The bathroom was clean but could use an additional bench or hook to prevent personal items from touching the wet floor. We were able to easily set up and clean up. Will definitely return. read more

This is just a beautiful place on the planet earth. south Eastern Ohio, Appalachian mountains. The Ohio State Park, Hocking Hills, is just a few minutes away. The entire region is very cool with quaint local towns like Logan, Nelsonsville and others. Plenty of stuff to explore in a hilly and beautiful area of Ohio. The KOA is large and spreads out over small valley. The facilities are clean and updated.. campsites are close but the terraced hills make it seem more spacious. They have a nice pool and a cleaver "old west" style panning for gemstones setup that kids really were using. We had a great time read more

Be prepared to climb a large hill at point of entrance and it's quite bumpy with your camper on the back! The view is worth it though! They had us pull up and placed us at our site first and then you set up and go check in. I found this odd, especially if you were at bottom of hill and had to go hike all the way back up to check in after you pulled to site. It was fine for us as we were at site 27 and top of hill. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The one man, Dean I think, gave us some tips on where we could go check out some views with little to no hiking since our dog was injured. (We tried to cancel, but could not due to their policy.) I really appreciated he took that into account and was trying to help us still enjoy our trip. They have a RC track that was right in front of our site and it's open to the public, as is the gemstone mining. They also had quite a few activities planned throughout the day. It's conveniently located to a lot of great hiking and they have a one mile loop on site that I did with our uninjured dog. Getting up just that hill was enough for me. Lol. The bathrooms were clean as well. Definitely one of the nicest KOA's I've stayed at! read more

Let me share my most recent stay experience and let it be a forewarning to anyone thinking of staying here during this 2024 summer/fall. I've had a 4-5 day stay in October for the last three years, all without incident and very accommodating. I came to the campground last October for the same, 4-5 days to go hiking with my dog. Had the usual great time exploring caves, hiking in the most remote areas...had a good time. Then I went home. Within a few hours of coming home after my third visit in three years, I received an email from an anonymous employee from the site who didn't sign their email, stating that they enjoyed my visit, look forward to seeing me next year (I should say that I had made a reservation for Oct 2024 while I was there) and that I was being charged $25.00 for cleaning fees. I had to stop and read again. Anonymous person said they charged my card $25.00 for cleaning. I read it correctly. Now let me be clear. I don't leave dirty rooms. I was raised to actually clean up your rental rooms as best as possible so as not to overburden the staff. I have traveled extensively as an employee and also with my dog throughout the country, and have NEVER been insulted like this. Not once has any any hotel charged me for "cleaning fees"...and we've stayed at the best. And that is how I leave all my rooms. This was a cabin. The floor was clean, the garbage was taken out, the dishes were done, I actually made the bed. There was absolutely no reason for them to charge me $25.00, So I respond as to why and once again, anonymous person said that staff had to take out garbage and clean floor. Now what we have here is a complete lie. It is either being told by the "housekeeping" staff, or anonymous person knows the difference and is lying. Either way, employee theft should be a concern if staying here. I then told anonymous person to cancel my reservation for next year. So you know what anon did? Charged me to cancel a reservation I made two days prior for October 2023. I also sent an email to this businesses KOA Area 2 Supervisor, but he has yet to respond. read more

This place raises the camping bar really high. To say I was impressed is an understatement. From the friendly staff to the impressive camp grounds everything was wonderful! To start, KOA was able to get us in without a reservation when the other campsite was terrible. They were very friendly to make sure we were given a spot right away. Our campsite was so nice with a gravel area for the camper and a nice area that had the picnic table. There was enough room for our 20 ft camper and our truck. I loved how we were on a corner lot with some nice trees and a really nice fire pit area. Since it was a bit rainy it did get a little muddy but not in areas we were sitting or stepping. Every campsite seemed private enough and I liked how the area was hilly so the sites seemed even more private. Facilities were beyond clean! I don't usually shower at campsites because of how dirty it feels but this place was so clean that I actually did take a shower! Water pressure was really nice! Bonus points for playing music in the bathroom. It made it nice for doing your business and didn't feel like everyone could hear you. The store had some really cute merchandise which I just had to buy! They also carry house made fudge and pizza! Along with ice cream and fruit smoothies. Also on the property is a nice pool, a RV car thing, and a place where you can mine for stones. Great for the kids! I was so impressed with this place that I want to be a KOA member and check out more locations! read more

My family and I just camped here in a tent. We got a site with electricity and water. The sites were spacious with plenty of shade and room and we have a huge tent. The bathrooms were super clean! The kids really enjoyed the pool, in fact that's all they wanted to do. We spent a day at Hocking Hills State park which was just a 10 minute drive. We did not partake, but love that they have the option to deliver food right to your campsite. They deliver firewood as well. I have never camped at a KOA before but we will look for them From now on. read more

We came in fall to see Hocking Hills. We had never been in area. This is my 2nd time in a KOA & I'm really impressed. We rented one of there small cabins. Could sleep 4. But for 2 people it's great. Everything is clean and well taken care of. Showers & bath house are 50 ft away. For campers they have full hook ups. The front office has Hunt brothers pizza & fresh fudge. They have pool for summertime, RC track for kids. Dog park & pet friendly place. Really love the place & would come back. Everyone who works is friendly & asking if they can help you. Very, very nice. We were in site # 1 and it was very spacious and nice. Had a little trouble getting leveled, finally had to move camper over 3 feet and still blocked it pretty good. The staff is very nice and the place is clean and manicured. The grass is kept nice. The sites are all nice and spacious. The fire rings are nice and the bathhouse is out of this world. Never seen a cleaner nicer bathhouse at any campground. The fudge is really good too. The location is excellent and a nice camp store and did I mention the fudge. The negatives: the road going up to the campground is aweful. It bounces you all over the place. And the firewood policy is dumb. The say it is to prevent the emerald ash, but the wood they sold me which was not cheap, was ash and below the bark had the emerald ash tracks. Haha. It's a money maker for them. The wood I bring is oak from a saw mill that has been seasoned and clean and no bugs. Overall it a great place. read more

We are normally tent campers, but with an iffy weather forecast and a 12 week old puppy, we found this sweet little place with dog friendly cabins. Upon arrival, we were escorted to our cabin by a very kind gentleman that told us of all the amenities. Each day we were checked on, and a treat for our puppy always came. **Hidden costs and unresponsive nighttime management**. There's a reason they don't post their rates on their website, let you book online or give you a detailed receipt. Our single tent site (no electricity) with 2 tents for our family of 5 cost over $70 per night! While their amenities are nice, they are not worth that much. They also wouldn't tell us which site we were going to be on so we couldn't look it up on the map before hand. Apparently we were on a secluded site - way up on a steep hill which was a long walk to the bathroom. Two of our kids wiped out when trying to ride their bikes down it. And worst of all, we had drunk, noisy neighbors for most of the night and could not reach anyone for help. No one answered their after hours lines or our pounding on their doors from midnight to 4am. They do not enforce their quiet hours. The next day when they got our messages they still didn't bother to reach out to us. 24 hours later - still with no contact from them, we emailed. They replied with a lame excuse about not hearing their phone and dodged our questions about why no one answered our door knocks. They refunded one night of the cost, but that doesn't really make up for the miserable next day we had on 2 hours of sleep. They expressed no sincere remorse - they couldn't even pick up a phone to say they were sorry. They were lucky there wasn't a true emergency to deal with. Awful. read more

Way too many campsites crammed into one area. Our tent site was in a high traffic area, people would cut thru our site to get to the bathrooms. Cars coming and going until 1:00 AM. People would congregate outside the bathrooms and talk loudly late at night (which was next to our tent). And when a storm hit, a flood of water ran down the road right into our tent!! NOT having a good time. They have made the sites really small so they could cram as many people in as they could, it's just to loud and busy here. read more

Super awesome place - extremely clean and the staff is outta this world. The facilities are well laid out, there are tons of staff available throughout the site that is here to help. The only downside is it seems like the wood that the sell here is not fully seasoned so we have struggled with keeping it live the last few days. Thought this would be another good trip to a KOA facility. Turns out I was very wrong!!! First off, the gem mining and store were great. The terrible was the RC track service/management. I was there with a group of 12. 7 adults over 35years old and 5 kids 2-8. Mining went well. Asked how much the RC car track was to use and paid for my brother and me. We have our own $5/600 rcs of our own. The supposed "owner" was yelling at the kid with his father on the drivers stand. Loud enough to be heard 20-30 feet away for going the wrong way. (Kids first time ever, rented a Rc and no one was on the track). Next my brother and I get on the drivers stand and the boys father doesn't know why the "owner" is yelling at them. Keeps asking what there doing wrong. Then as I'm driving, my truck flips off the track which happens all the time at every track I race at. The "owner" yelled "you need to learn how to drive or your done. Ok this was 15 seconds into using the track. Few more laps, I flip again. The "owner" was yelling at me and my brother using the F word in front of my children and everyone else there. He even got in mine and my families faces while on his cellphone cussing us out. Come to find out he's just the manager or something! Also if you as a business do not know what a RC car is, what they do or how to use them then don't do it. I've raced rcs for 25+ years and know what I'm doing. Update: KOA corporate nor the owner have even acknowledged this issue. KOA has lost there credibility with me and my family read more

Quiet, spacious campsites, nice store (kind of pricey), food/wood delivery to your site, best bathroom / shower house at a campground that i've ever experienced (AC perfectly clean, satellite radio playing, HOT WATER, and there is even a wall mounted hair dryer!) the majority of the workers are really nice, free wifi, close to hiking and caves, campground is clean and very well kept, there is a little fenced in dog park, nice playground. 1 Complaint 1. your site reservation is only for 2 adults so if you have kids you have to pay an additional $3 PER DAY / PER KID for children over 2 years old... I paid $42 on top of my weeks site reservation for my 2 kiddos. What's crazy to me is that dogs are free...unless you have more than 2 and then it's $3 per day for each additional dog. read more

This place was super clean and the staff was so welcoming and helpful! It was just a short 10 minute drive to all the hiking areas and we were able to get cell service on this campground! We arrived early and the staff had no problems allowing us to check in 2 hours early to our primitive remote tent site. It was perfectly tucked back into the woods. This campground was very family orientated, the community bath houses and bathrooms were all decently clean and super convenient. Cowboy Dave was awesome! It had rained one day while we were our hiking and when we got back to our site. He offered to switch out our wet wood for new dry bundles. Another bonus, it was only about a 15 minute drive to go into town and check out the other restaurants and business. We would definitely camp here again if we decide to return to the hocking hills area! read more

If you like a lot of unnecessary rules, the smell of sewage and poor management, then this is the place for you. DO NOT and I mean DO NOT get a campsite in the back of park! Any wind will bring the sewage smell into your campsite and if you don't have a 15k+ camper they will set you up next or around it. Children will struggle with all the rules and they will hound them on golf carts if they are riding bikes to fast etc. campground itself is very nice, bathrooms, pool, and sites are very level. read more

Owner is rude and does not have problem keeping your money. I do not recommend booking here at all. Some things are refundable within 14 days others are 28 days. This campground is very nice. The grounds are kept clean and manicured, bathhouse was immaculate - our wives LOVED it. The pool was nice (heated and we especially enjoyed the 9am-10am Saturday Adult swim time :-)). The staff is always available to help you out with whatever you may need, always cruising the campground on their golf carts - making sure you don't need anything. The camp store is well equipped for any last minute forgotten items (syrup for our pancake breakfast...oops) and also has a nice kitchen offering food which can be delivered to your site! They also have homemade fudge which we enjoyed. Note, kitchen closes at 8pm, store at 9pm...tried to order a pizza at 8:30pm and figured this out. We stayed in site #9, it is one of the Deluxe Patio sites. Site was level side to side and only required leveling out front to back...the paved patio, 4 person table, gas grill, wood swing and fire pit were all put to use during our three day stay. We had a consistent light breeze which seemed to keep the bugs away. Also has the best view of the valley and pasture across the road; beautiful sunrises and multiple deer grazing in the morning and evenings. They have a "no outside wood" policy, which most campgrounds seem to have nowadays with the emerald ash problems. That's fine, it's a money maker for them ($5.99 per or 5 for $27.99, I think), unfortunately, many campers are not diligent enough to bring in only clean wood...and if this helps keep the beautiful mature trees protected I am good with it. The road up to the campground is pretty narrow, steep and pretty bumpy, but if you're careful you'll be just fine. Apparently, the county owns the road...not real high on their list to fix I guess...but like I said, not a problem if you're just careful. Overall, a very nice place and will definitely be sharing with our camping friends. read more

One word - AMAZING!! So incredibly beautiful!! Campground is expertly maintained and immaculate. Restrooms are the BEST I've ever seen in a campground! I walked in and had to walk back out to make sure I was in a campground! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Sites are clean and well-kept and they have lots of privacy as well has log cabins you can rent. Pool is clean and their recreation center and gem mine hold a lot of entertainment for kids and adults alike. Camp store is packed and they are also putting in a pizza shop. Obviously I will be back and will be telling anyone traveling to this area to stay here. You won't be disappointed. read more

What a warm greeting by the staff! We told them our name (we reserved online) and they took us to our campsite to set up before checking in just to speed up the process. The sites have good tree cover so you don't feel like you're in the middle of a field. The restrooms and showers are first rate and clean. The store is well equipped with the necessities ( including ice cream and fudge). They delivered firewood to our site. Very convenient location to areas of interest. Nothing about this campground stands out. Fine place to stay, but lame that this is even considered a KOA. On our first night (a Friday), the staff came to our site saying we must put our dog away because he was barking. Second night, the staff came around saying that other campers were "complaining about noise," when just myself and 2-3 others were outside at 10 pm having a fire (on a Saturday night, to boot, with a newborn baby inside who is sleeping just fine, by the way). Cabins have instructions saying you must sweep, take out your garbage, and do your dishes in order to avoid a $25 fee (the latter 2 are understandable, but sweep? Come on). Overall, I did not enjoy being talked to like a child when I was minding my own business while also being respectful to other campers during my entire stay. This campground does not provide MOST of the typical KOA activities/amenities & seems more fitting for retired folks than families. I would recommend a different place to stay in order to fully enjoy your time at Hocking Hills :) read more

Amazing experience - start to finish! Very clean and quiet atmosphere. Staff were super friendly, helpful, and took a genuine interest in ensuring a great experience. We ordered the pizza from the general store and loved it! It's a must try! We stayed in the 1 room camping cabin and that included a full size bed (very comfy!) and a bunk bed, mini fridge, small flat screen, covered porch with two chairs to sit down and relax. We paid around $200 for two nights and it was worth every penny! Must trys: cabins, fudge, pizza! Good times - can't wait to return! read more

My very first visit to any KOA and I couldn't be happier. Drove by on the way out from Hocking Hills State Park and noticed the sign, decided to give it a try. I went primitive, bold, selecting a tent site with no electricity or water. It was great, spot 87, close to the new restrooms, kamp kitchen and brand new showers. Very nice. The tent site was level, just far enough out of the main flow, close to a foot path that takes you up behind the campground to see some wildlife. Staff are very friendly, helpful and service is top notch. Be sure to try out the pizza, ya I know camping and pizza right but it's pretty darn good and a nice break from camp cooking. Overall made for a great weekend away from the rat race. Close to the State Park too. read more

Very clean restrooms here! It had a nice pool and playground. There is only three showers for the entire park and sometimes there is a line but I like I said the restroom really nice. This koa is about 3 miles away from attractions such as Hocking Hills State Park and old mans cave, Cedarfalls, and ash cave which were all very nice hiking areas. it gets busy on the weekend but is peaceful on week days. Great place! Staff is super nice. They had a lot of activities planned for the weekend of the 4th of July we were here. Their store has almost any basic need. If you are in to State Parks the KOA is with in an easy drive to the Hocking Hills State Parks. They have some very easy to moderate trails that take you to nice water falls. Even though I give it 5 stars there is one big thing they need to do, put up a net or something around the basket ball court. It is built on the side of a hill and when you lose a ball it goes across one of the main roads and WAY down into the camp. read more

Nice clean campground, very quiet place family oriented. Not a party destination. Nice swimming pool. No late check in. Patton road the driveway is horrible the hill is unavoidable but the bumps make the pull up a challenge, one of the staff warned me the drive was too narrow for two way travel and one of the vehicles typically will end up in a ditch so be careful going in or out. She said it cost $300 - $400 to be pulled out. read more

Set in the beautiful rolling hills of Ohio, this Kampground is a great getaway spot! It is easy to find off the main road as it has a large lit sign, so it is easy to find in the day or in the dark. There are no other street lights out here, so their sign shines like a beacon in the dark. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The kamp sites are a bit hilly (seriously, hilly.. getting up the driveway can be a challange) and have a pad to place your camper or tent. The only downside is there is only one real restroom. The rest of port-o-pots. They are very clean and have lights over them so it is clear where they are in the dead of the night. My husband and I are avid campers and we always choose a KOA. This one has met our expectations so far and we happy to call it home for our vacation. The other reason we chose this one for our vacation this year was the amount of things to do near by! Tons of hiking, rental ATVs, horseback riding, and rental kayaking make this a great family destination. read more
