Our recent stay, 22-23 JUN was good, with no particular issues. There was nothing that was wrong,…read moreand nothing so great as to warrant any gushing review. The TV service (Spectrum), and the world's tinest most useless remote, are a topic. More on that later. An immediate thought, and this is observation and experience over years of travel. The entire staff was "local" and by that I mean folks born and raised in the Midwest somewhere. There were no indications that there was Pakistani or Indian influence at this location. Over the years this level of hotel/motel has been dominated by that cultural persuasion. Those foreign born humans do a good job, generally, but there is always (in my experience) a bit of "shortcut" to the nuts and bolts of the day to day functioning, and management of the maintenance, cleanliness, food service. This location, had none of those defeciencies. While nothing was spectacular, every aspect of the stay was adequate. Aside from the intial overwhelming smell of chlorine, when we first entered (which you quickly grow nose blind to interestingly) , the place was clean and well maintained. They had a maintenance tech on duty, came to our room in minutes to manage a lazy, and underperforming toilet. The breakfast was adequate. My wife is a finicky diner, but still found things to make it through the morning, although her derisive view of "steamed" proteins is quite fair...that is a challenge that this level of service will always have. Day one was steamed sausages, day two steamed bacon ( a bridge too far for my bride indeed). I was Army, so have had far worse in far worse settings...I had seconds! The bed was firm, the pillows were okay. Now, the TV service and the worlds smallest and most useless remote. We were in town for a family event, so for the most part we were only in the room for a an hour or so of decompression before sleeping. On both days, 45 minutes of that hour was trying to understand and navigate the TV. Perhaps if I had a different set of background, training, and exposure to technology I could have figured it out. I did give up and instead of the local news I wanted to catch up on, settled on an episode of McHale's Navy, it was that episode where they get a PT boat hull and paint it to be a replica of their PT 73, so they can go rebuild a destroyed village. Good episode, but I would have rather caught up on the news. Not possible with BW's Spectrum and useless remote. Also, Disney might just give you folks a call over this "be our guest" thing, but I must admit, I did find myself singing the song while waiting for the tiny elevator.

I booked a hotel for my little sister and me to swim, and when I got there, the pool was closed. I kept asking, "Okay, can we work something else out or talk to somebody else?" and they kept getting snappy and telling me it's on a certain part of their website. It didn't say anything about it when I booked it, and in the amenities it still said it has a pool. The staff and the manager were very rude and not helpful and didn't try to work with me at all about my situation. If I can speak to a higher up I would appreciate it the manger wouldn't let me speak to any higher up.

This has been a positive experience here in Zanesville, OH…read more The staff is friendly and helpful. They have made my visit for the pottery show very pleasant. I am looking forward to coming back next year.

It is one of those odd things that you can have an experience earlier in the course of a week long…read moreroad trip that makes you appreciate the little things somewhere else along the way. That is definetley the case with this location of IHG properties. This chain is consistenly solid over the years so I wasn't expecting anything less than what we had. They in the midst of a renovation, but around a bit of dust here, anda paint splash there, it was still clean (much cleaner than a previous place in Wilmington). The staffer that checked us in was pleasant and efficient. Our beds were comfortable, lots of pillows. We had a little problem with the shower the first night (operator error, or rather we didn't know the trick for a janky tub/shower valve). We called and they sent someone within about 5 minutes. [It was one of the maids that had experience with our room, a sweet soul, very pleasant...I do have to ask though, how many tattoos are too many tattoos]. The breakfast was pretty well put out, two hot protiens each day, eggs, potato options, oatmeal, cereal, pancake machine, etc. Even the most finicky kid would not walk away hungry unless they wanted to, for whatever reason it is that finicky kids do things. The hot tub worked, good temperature, pool was nice, neither had too much chlorine. While you didn't have to walk through the lobby (like some hotels- why designers, why?) there was a giant window from the front lobby/breakfast area to the pool area. My wife was a bit off put by that. I guess you would feel a bit like a fish in the aquarium if someone was there looking in. Definiteley a good stay, nothing is cheap anymore, so $346 for two nights in a non capitol city in Ohio might feel steep, but hey that's what the market will bear, so all good that's good. We would come back if in the area.

I don't generally leave negative reviews, but if I can spare someone from staying in this…read moredisgusting place, it is worth it. The whole bathroom was a biohazard. The room's floors were dirty, the toilet had spattered feces and toilet seat had something raised on it (see photos). The shower curtain was black with mildew and the tub had black stains. The floor tiles were so black with dirt that a towel on the floor turned black. A bench in the room had crumbs all over it. Avoid at all costs.

First, if I could give staff and housing a zero star review I would. I'm a person who doesn't post…read morebad reviews.... But this is to WARN people not just to complain. This place does NOT look like the photos online. THE ONLY reason we stayed after seeing room is because we drove two hours up early in the morning for a softball tournament and played in the freezing pouring rain for 15 hours and it was 3 am and didn't want to dangerously drive home after that. Stupid us!!!!! Take the risk and drive home. This place was filthy. And Kristy the manager is a bitch ass joke. She was so rude. And the girl at front desk when I called Down to complain last night acted like this happens all the time. We told the lady we wanted at least a partial refund and she called us back after "reviewing" our room. She said they just got the new ac unit put on and stink bugs are common in the area. I'm sure the other hotels don't have stink bugs. Kristy, you're an idiot.... I told u and am keeping my word, I'm going to call the health inspector and all the media about this establishment and YOU. YOU could have handled yourself Completely differently this morning and you chose to be nasty and rude. This will not end well for this hotel.... I'll make sure of it. I seriously feel like I caught Covid by being here..... calling the health inspectors first thing tomorrow. Be ready Kristy. Best wishes
