We had the Fall prix fixe menu in an Igloo, ate lunch at the on-site restaurant, and had Happy Hour…read moredrinks at the on-site bar and also stayed at the hotel. Note for Igloo reservers and prix fixe menu people: I was told you CAN order things off the prix fixe menu while in the igloos, but it's an upcharge. I'm not sure why; they're making those same things inside of the restaurant and bar 50 steps away, but if you're a picky eater who is on the fence about a pre-made menu, you can make it work if you want. I wanna say the place is a maze, but it really isn't. But it IS two very-large circles. Walking and stairs are a given for this place, and it can be easy to feel "lost" getting to your room. (Getting to our room, for example, required a set of stairs and 4 right turns then a left) It was great for getting steps in, but if "getting steps is" isn't necessarily comfortable for you, make sure you let them know that at check-in. I would not recommend this place for someone who has difficulty walking or uses a wheelchair. It's "technically" accessible in most spots, but it definitely isn't friendly to it. PROS: -Room was surprisingly spacious with tons of area to move around. Everything was clean with a gigantic bathroom that you could easily host a 5 person meeting in. If, y'know, you wanted to do that. -The furniture in the room was all very sturdy. You know how some hotel room furniture just looks cheap? Not here. Everything looks like that hand-me-down furniture from your grandparents that will outlive you. It was all clean too. -In-room bathtub is gigantic and easily fits 2 people and would fit four people if you, uh, had good friends. -All drinks at the bar can be poured in plastic to go outside with you. The bartender was happy to pour us a double with straws, and we had a great time walking the beautifully-lit Fall lights as the sun was going down. By far the highlight of the trip. -All the staff was really nice. Quite a few of them were brand new (I'm not sure if they have high turnover here or if it's seasonal hiring) which made for some interesting - but not terrible - experiences. I still want to know if there's a story to the Teddy Bear that's sitting up in the ceiling, though, and none of the staff were able to give me an answer. CONS: -Igloo experience was okay. It wasn't worth the cost. We got a lot more of our enjoyment from walking the property, having drinks while curled up on rocking chairs, and seeing everything they had to offer. The igloo was surprisingly cold (we asked for additional heat, and the server said she'd bring someone out, but no one ever showed), and my fingers were getting too cold to easily hold the silverware. The food was okay (with very generous portions. VERY generous), and the service was regular, but between the temperature and the "okay" food, it didn't quite feel worth the price. That being said, we'd probably do it again in 5 or 10 years simply for the ambience. It WAS cute. Just not worth the cost to make it an annual tradition. -wtf is with the bedframes they chose? The bedframe corners extend much further out than the bed, and we both ended up with multiple bruises from whacking our shins on the corners of the bedframe. -It's definitely a hotel built into an old building, and they aren't charging a ton per night. It is not immaculate. Things that matter (your bathroom, your bed, the sheets, tables, etc.) all seem clean and modern. Things that could fall into disrepair without affecting hygiene aren't necessarily spotless. Shingles on some of the buildings are falling off. The gazebo hasn't been repainted in awhile and its wooden age shows. Some light fixtures are hanging off their mounting points and most of the landscaping is starting to show that it hasn't been updated in a bit. Dust is pretty much on every surface that isn't easily-reached by standing (which is easier to notice when you can look down on the first floor from the second in most of the hotel). -Hot tub was down when we looked. A couple other reviews also mention this, so I wonder how long it has been down. Hot tub fixes are EXPENSIVE.

I knew I was going to love this place when I was greeted by the golden retriever Dakota when we arrived. Yet another lovely pooch greeted us at the door, Miss Wrigley. Loved having the pets around. The garden and home are amazing. Really quite lovely. They also have a beautiful pool with lounge area and a lovely big porch in the front of the home. We stayed in the Berllan Glen room. It's gorgeous. Big bedroom area, very large bathroom area, and private porch. The pictures speak for themselves. Some folks may need a step stool to get into the bed :) The reason for the one start deduction is that I went to put my lingerie in the bureau. I saw a bunch of women's stockings all curled up inside in a drawer. I assumed someone forgot their clothes. Then I opened other drawers. They too were all filled. Then I went to the end table chest of drawers on both sides of the bed, they were full. I finally found a few empty drawers in the armoire with the TV. I also could not find a closet door that would open. I eventually figured out there were two rods to hang clothes on on either end of the armoire. I believe the lovely hostess should've told us that there were clothes in our room and where we could hang or put ours clothes away. I found it off putting and quite odd to have someone else's clothes in the furniture. I've since asked other friends and family and they too agree that is quite odd. Anyway, the breakfast in the morning was delicious. Lovely spread. Apparently, you can arrange for dinner at the home, but you have to let the innkeepers know in advance. The house is chock full of items for decoration and has a tiny little gift shop where I did purchase some private label Earl Grey tea that's quite yummy. As a very nice touch they do have complementary sodas, water, and snacks for the guests. One can also purchase wine, if desired. There is also a coffee bar and tea bar. I was so pleased to see a tea bar because so few places have that. My only small issue with that is that there's no milk available--only in the mornings when the coffee bar has their half-and-half out. I didn't realize they have "operating" hours. The innkeepers are available until 9 at night, unless an emergency. I finally figured that out on a card they left in the room on the bureau with fresh water. It's about a seven minute ride to the actual Town of Granville. The town is a must see! The Whit's ice cream is delicious. All in all, it's a lovely place, except for the fact that I had that issue with putting my clothes away.

I had to call the company - then they "found" it. They stay and points credit has not been fixed for either of the first 2 stays. Last night, again the clerk could not find my reservation. She was friendly and pleasant though. Since there were rooms available, she just made another for me. Finally, a stay is appearing in the app. The room was nice. Clean. Neat. However, last stay and this one - the shower soap, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and body lotion seem to be all the same. Impossible to rinse off. Makes the shower very slippery. The grap bar in the shower is broken. It seems someone else grabbed it to stop their fall. I almost fell from a slip when I got out of the shower. The towels are very rough - coarse sand paper rough. The shower doors are not hung correctly. Or the walls are 15 degrees out of plumb. The breakfast is pretty good. Today there is a nice selection, although bland, - cheese omelet, sausage links, biscuits and sausage gravy. There is also egg white omelet and many other items. I asked myself if the breakfast makes up for the booking and maintenance issues.
