Early breakfast at Der Dutchman down the road is highly recommended before the lines get long.

During the summer they have a 3 nights for the price of 2 deal during the week. The park was quiet on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I know the water park can get very busy on weekends, especially when it's hot. They have safety in mind with all the rules they have. The campsites are spacious and the campground is beautifully kept. Grass mowed, not a speck of trash any place. While we were there, a worker was filling in where someone had backed onto the grass instead of the pad, and had made a huge gouge. Most sites are water/electric, but they have many full hookups too. They have expanded to a total of 75 sites. Great place for families, and close to all the Amish Country attractions.

Review update: Received partial refund following complaint…read more Mostly a pleasant stay, but... see below. 1) I made a mistake about the start date of our reservation, so we set out a day early. On the way, I discovered my error and started calling the office to see if they could accommodate us anyway. I was calling within their stated office hours but only got voice mail. I left a message, but also called repeatedly, hoping to get a human. An emergency after-hours number was mentioned, but they had not supplied us with it. Eventually I gave up and secured a last-minute reservation at another RV park close by. We were at Lake Wapusun for a week and NEVER received a call back, nor mention of my message. Did the on-site staff bug out early Sunday afternoon and then erase my message to avoid discovery?.... 2) Our on-line reservation was supposed to be full hook-up, with water, electricity, and sewer. Our site did not have sewer hookup. Asked about it and was told that only seasonal campers get sewer hookups. There is NO mention of this on their website. I do not know if this is an intentional misrepresentation, or simply an oversight. It was incredibly inconvenient as partway through the week we had to use the general campground sewage dump, which meant uncoupling all our hookups, driving to the dump site, draining everything, then re-leveling our RV, and doing all the hookups again. I THINK THEY OWE US A PARTIAL REFUND BECAUSE WE DID NOT GET WHAT WE PAID FOR. And then, it was Saturday night! Oh. My. God!!! They have a makeshift stage and bring in local(?) bands to perform. The level of amplification is horrific and overwhelming! It echoes all through the campground with no escape!! The noise started around 7 p.m. and continued PAST 11 p.m, which is their stated "quiet time." (Which they claim is strictly enforced; I beg to differ.) People in cars and golf carts paraded through the park, yelling and singing at the top of their lungs until after 11 p.m. Had we known to anticipate loud, raucous behavior there, I would have selected a different campground. We left the next day even though we had another day in our reservation. The staff we encountered in person were consistently pleasant and helpful. Weekdays were quiet. Dogs are allowed and there are roads/paths nice to walk. You wouldn't likely want to swim on the beach due to all the geese and goose poop (it's just nature, but, ick), so a swimming pool would be a nice addition. It looks like a good place to camp with children as there is a large play area with activities kids love to do. The camp store had limited selections, but did supply a couple of items we needed at a reasonable price. The area features rolling hills, lots of Ohio farmland (surrounding dairy and hog farms supplied punguent aromas at times), wineries, and Amish communities. The City of Wooster is not far away, offering mid-to-upscale restaurants, interesting shops, and The College of Wooster. Nice "college town" vibe. Overall it was a decent experience, but we will not be returning.

It was also very unleveled. The picnic table could not be leveled due to poor construction of the sites. The women's shower and bathroom area was FILTHY!!! There was feces on the toilets and mud and hair in the showers and the curtain was moldy! There was no faucet that would control the water spigot and no shower heads! YUCK!!! The lady at the office apologized but it was unhealthy to even consider using these facilities!!! The men's shower was only operational while you pushed the control valve!! So water did not constantly stay in and there is NO adjustment for the temperature! This camping area looks to be rented to regulars with Fifth Wheels. Anyway, don't recommend it if you need or want to use the bathroom facilities!! GROSS!

The have a lot of events that they run and I wish they were open all year. They are only open for the camping season, but they have pull through spots, even tent spots, a small laundromat. The only downside is there is no sewer hook up but randy will come around once a week and pump out your sewer tank for you! So not really a huge inconvenience. Would go back here whenever we're in the area.
