    S'More Camping W.

We have stayed here numerous times. Campsites are very spacious and the staff is amazing. There is a swimming pond, kayak and tube rental right at the campground. This park is very large (take a bicycle) but please note that golf carts are not permitted. This is a beautiful place to spend a weekend with your family or friends. The pricing is reasonable and the views are amazing. One of our favorite places to spend our summer weekends.

Scout Halloween torch lit hike to cemetery. Spooky!!

The road to get to the campground was winding and very dark but when we arrived we saw a beautiful campground with paved spots. There are no amenities with only a vault toilet and water pump. Still the sites were nice and large. You pass several shooting ranges on the way to the campground. There is also a trail that loops around the campground.

Here are trash bins, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site, plus a well-blazed trail edging the campground. There are pit toilets in the center of the ring that do smell like free campground pit toilets, but they are far enough from the campsites that you'll be okay even on a hot summer day, especially if you're a ping with a self-contained unit. Our site had a great mix of field and tree cover with raspberries or other bramble fruits lining the campground. Hummingbirds, cardinals, nuthatches, and a concert of fireflies were fun to watch. The free part is especially good since there are pigeon, rifle, and handgun target ranges outside the camp loop, and you do hear them even on a Monday. And first thing Tuesday morning. This is a dry campground in every way so bring your own water. If you aren't target practicing, use your red cup and don't act like a rookie. About half the sites were in use the Monday night we stayed. Despite the ballistic sounds, the camp loop was quiet, and we had a very restful stay.

This past weekend was perfect weather wise. Upper 70's with 60's at night. The only negative with that was it was almost too cold to swim. The water in the pool was freezing cold. We tried to stay in as long as we could but it was sharp. The big slide wasn't working properly so that was kind of a bummer. Great all around staff. You have a special thing with Ranger Dan. He's a great worker, great customer service and always driving around saying hello and checking in. Saw him numerous times and each time was always a friendly gesture and conversation. Kept us up to date with the activities, along with the piece of paper. Putt putt was a great clean course. Kind of challenging. Didn't use majority of the playground amenities but they have a ton and it's in a great big area. The ice cream stand had Hershey's ice cream and UNBELIEVABLE Root Beer. The pizza we tried was pretty good as well. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and nice. The only negatives I could give besides cold pool ( nothing to do about that ) is the water is Well water so it had the sulphur smell so brushing and showering had an odor. The activities were plentiful, always had a big calendar or events and theme weekends. The activities they had planned just seemed lackluster and rushed. Younger staff doing many of the skits, seemed half assed and rushed it not a ton of thought into the activity. We never really saw any of the Bears walking around but we would hear that they were out and about. We raised our family at Jellystone so this will always have a symbolic and nostalgic feel. We will still definitely always come back. Overall a good weekend. 8.0 out of 10

They literally would make things better by saying we need to bring clear bags so they can make sure we aren't bringing in glass or alcohol. I appreciate the rules but I'm an adult and I don't need some 16 year old ruining everything I packed. Secondly they got rid of the obstacle course in lieu of a diving board. The pool itself needs some repair. The way the bottom is, it makes the water look dirty. The water actually was full of bugs and leaves. The pool is small for 19.00 per person. It's a fine place to cool off but overall it has changed to only accommodate young children and older teens will more than likely not be impressed.

What the sites lacked in width, they made up for in length. There was plenty of room for our tents and vehicles. They had a DJ Saturday night that was pretty good. A lot of people out dancing and having a good time. With our large group, we couldn't fit on the first bus for canoe drop off. So we had to wait about an hour to board to get shuttled to our drop off but that was fine. I definitely suggest making reservations if you plan on going to down the river. Overall it was pretty relaxed, clean, and our entire group had a great time. The prices were amazing too. We will be coming back next summer! (picture is the view from our campsite)

Inconsiderate campers, LOUD music as if you were at a concert (not exaggerating), A LOT of excessive drinking, illegal drugs, and loud swearing from surrounding campers. I went to unplug and relax, however this cannot happen at this campground. I used to take my children to the POWWOW but things have drastically changed, not for the good. The only good thing is the campgrounds are beautiful, it used to be even more beautiful before they allowed it to become Sodom and Gomorrah, the restrooms were very well maintained and clean, and the campsite grounds were very well maintained. Other than that BEWARE. Throughout my stay, my car had white hand prints on it, like someone put on SPF and put their prints on my car. I would clean off the handprints only to find new prints on my car in different places the next morning. There was also an incident with illegal spider monkeys in the restrooms, in which one of the monkeys was climbing over while I was taking a shower, I was traumatized, screaming to get the monkey away. I went to the office and they would do nothing about it. MONKEYS ARE ILLEGAL IN THE STATE OF OHIO, they also carry a lot of diseases and can be aggressive. I ended up leaving that evening because I did not feel safe, to return the next day and retrieve the remainder of my things, ending my stay three nights early. I left a note for the owner requesting that she call me so I could discuss the monkey incident and another incident, but she has not returned my call.
