The have a lot of events that they run and I wish they were open all year. They are only open for the camping season, but they have pull through spots, even tent spots, a small laundromat. The only downside is there is no sewer hook up but randy will come around once a week and pump out your sewer tank for you! So not really a huge inconvenience. Would go back here whenever we're in the area.

It was also very unleveled. The picnic table could not be leveled due to poor construction of the sites. The women's shower and bathroom area was FILTHY!!! There was feces on the toilets and mud and hair in the showers and the curtain was moldy! There was no faucet that would control the water spigot and no shower heads! YUCK!!! The lady at the office apologized but it was unhealthy to even consider using these facilities!!! The men's shower was only operational while you pushed the control valve!! So water did not constantly stay in and there is NO adjustment for the temperature! This camping area looks to be rented to regulars with Fifth Wheels. Anyway, don't recommend it if you need or want to use the bathroom facilities!! GROSS!

I have mixed feelings about this organization as some was good and some was bad…read more Pros: wasn't overly crowded, abundance of parking and friendly staff. Trails/slopes were well maintained. Cons: frustrating as I was trying to teach someone to ski on the bunny slopes the magic carpet kept shutting down repeatedly for 5-10 minutes at a time and it was already at a crawling pace. Basically it takes forever to get to the top of a hill using this method. So you better have a lot of patience. The ski lifts didn't have safety bars to secure you from falling out. I think the worst thing was the rental locker room where it's a complete free-for-all !!!! Talk about chaotic. Basically everyone has to find their own ski boots and there is very little room to move around and try them on, making it extremely annoying. I didn't see very many seated areas out side for those who need to take a break. The main large area was very outdated in the bathrooms needed a complete overhaul. Standing water everywhere you look. So, be very cautious. But, all and all it not for from home, staff is friendly and slopes seem reluctantly kept up.

Seasonal campers were pretty welcoming and nice unlike the KOA...it did get quite loud and rowdy Friday night and didn't calm down til closer to midnight/1am. A Welcome of some sort, maybe over view of the menu would have been nice to signal the meal was starting. Instead most at our table were confused as we suddenly were handed drinks and a plate of crostini was set down. I think if someone announced each course and what we were about to have would have gone a long way in feeling like a more organized event. Also the pacing was totally off. We were getting drinks for the meat course and we hadn't even had the croquette course yet. They also need a better system to ensure those not having alcohol still get a drink. Not only did we need to remind staff each course but twice my husband never got the non alcoholic version of the pairing drink. The first time he got up and asked for his drink and the other time he just didn't care to ask again. The grounds are beautiful and again food was amazing and staff was great. Just for the price though some better organization was needed.

We thoroughly enjoyed the pool house and loved having an outdoor hot tub right outside our room. Breakfast at The Copper Mug was also a hit--though I'm still holding a mild personal grudge that the Eggs Benedict was unavailable (hmph). The... Adventurous: Furniture with personality: A chair quite literally disassembled itself the moment one of our friends sat down. The Shower: Fantastic water pressure, provided you enjoy your showers at a strict, non-negotiable "lava" temperature. The Pull-Out Sofa: Horrendously uncomfortable. I didn't even sleep on it and I still hold a deep hatred for it. The Ambience: The view from the bed was so uniquely eerie it finally inspired me to write my dark comedy horror script, RED EXIT. Verdict: Overall, good times were had by all! We honestly wished we could stay longer, but we were also pretty excited for our next hotel to feature dependable water temperatures and mattresses that don't double as torture devices.

I am a huge fan of this place. I come to Ashland several times a year for seminars and conferences…read more The first time I came, I stayed in a nondescript motel and I knew I didn't want to do that again. The College House B&B is lovely, with a very friendly owner, Kathy Kollar. While there isn't a common living room in the house, the dining room is spacious and does have some extra chairs for conversation. There is a small parlor/office that has a piano and lots of books. The best common room is the screened-in patio at the back of the house; it has lovely wicker furniture and lots of space for conversation, games, reading or times of quiet. There's also a small exercise room with a treadmill! There are 4 guest rooms, each with its own "department" theme (Music, History, English and Art). I've stayed in the Music and English Department rooms. Each had a flat-screen TV with cable as well as a VCR/DVD player, jetted tub, (the one in the English room is HUGE!) and heated tile floors in the bathrooms. There are comfy robes in the closet for use while at the inn. There is also a small library of VHS tapes and DVDs to borrow. You will always find chocolate by your bed, too. A lovely touch. Naturally, breakfast comes with your stay and Kathy serves the meal at whatever time you desire. I've had breakfast all along the morning spectrum, from 6 through 9! Her breakfasts are always delicious, and are nicely varied. Sometimes a simple waffle with sausage, the next day a perfect quiche. Her specialty is "candied" bacon that is downright addictive! There's always fresh fruit and good coffee. During my most recent stay she had a couple of vegans in the house (I'm 90% vegan) so she made some extra special veggie sausage patties for us (homemade...no soy protein!) and a delicious tofu scramble. Kathy is always willing to change up her menu to take dietary restrictions into account. She loves to treat her guests well! In the dining room you will find a small fridge, microwave, water cooler/heater and plenty of tea, hot chocolate packets and popcorn. If you peek into the kitchen, there are usually fresh baked cookies or brownies under a glass dome, luring you to come in and enjoy! This is my home-away-from home in Ashland and I hope more people will discover this place and enjoy Kathy's delightful hospitality!!

As for food, our burgers were a bit well done, but still delicious. The pretzel sticks with Gouda cheese were a hit. And the strawberry rhubarb wine was amazing. We can home with multiple bottles of it. And, of course, you can't forget the cheesecake. The service was a bit slower, but well worth the wait. My biggest takeaway is if you're between two menu items: get the one with the Gouda!
