We love snow trails and are so thankful to have this 18 minutes from where we live. I took lessons through them and it was a great experience! We also love the lodge, you can find me sitting by the fire enjoying a bowl of French onion soup!

Showed up for the first run of the day. Place was nice and the even had a fire going. Lines were manageable and dodnt have to wait long to go down the hill. The little snack shack was nice and had some good item to munch on. Next time we will bring our own and post up at one of the tables. With this being our first time we didn't know but seems like alot of veterans being their own snacks and grab tables. We will be back but not sure we can make it this year.

Grease from the lift was all over the lift seat and bars ruining my skin coat and pants. They will do nothing to compensate us.

This local gem an hour south of Cleveland is fun independent ski area. Easy to get to with plenty of parking. Nice lodge with plenty of lockers & cubbies for your stuff. Nice cafeteria & pub. A nice variety of terrain with a really nice terrain park for boarders & those who like aerial fun. The runs were nicely groomed and they had plenty of snow. Quite the crowd for a Monday. Really well stocked ski shop. Enjoyed my visit.

Incredible winter fun! The lodge is my favorite on the east coast. Great atmosphere. Great staff. They are extremely helpful. The food is delicious. I recommend the Mt. Mansfield. I gobbled it up before I was able to take a picture. The apres is by far the best part. Once it hits 11a, Last Run is calling me with a cold beer!

We really enjoyed the lessons and the instruction. The teacher was nice and helpful and encouraging. The place itself isn't like the Colorado resorts, but for being in Ohio it is great! It's expensive but so is every other skiing place. We ate at the restaurant there and the food was decent bar food.

Okay, I took my family to the sledding hills on snow trails this past February as a birthday gift for my son. Now I say this, full-well knowing that this review is going to sound as mollycoddled milquetoast as I can sound, but that being said, I want to illustrate to other parents who wish to take their children here that it is a tad bit DANGEROUS. Okay, YES. Many of you are now scolding me for condemning a sledding hill as dangerous as this is entirely the point. Many of you might assume I am a helicopter parent who has never allowed my children to walk outside of the house with a helmet on. However, I can tell you that I have raced cars and jumped out of airplanes in my life! I just feel that this sledding hill is a wee dangerous for little ones. First of all, the hill is rock hard ice. It is not snow at all and each sledder hurdles themselves down this ice slalom on an inner tube, reaching speeds of 40 mph while holding onto nothing more than the rubber handles on an inflatable while possessing no helmet whatsoever. I never gasped when skydiving in my life, but this sledding hill really took the air out of my lungs. I kept thinking "All it takes is for the correct mismatch of weight and lack of friction and a major catastrophe is imminent." Of course, it happened three times during my two hour visit. I witnessed three small children clotheslined or harpooned and catapulted into tears. Not surprising, an entire crew of Paramedics had to service these children. Now, you might assume that this would warrant a One Star Rating. However, this thrill might be EXACTLY what you're looking for. Thus, I rated this a two-star merely for the parents who are unknowingly leading their children to this car crash. Sorry to Snow Trails for this ridiculous post, but I wish someone had warned me before I spent the money

It was my first time skiing and I feel like they offer a really good service for beginners and the prices are pretty fair for the quality of their equipment and the whole experience you will have. I will totally come back to have fun in the snow!

This was my first time at Snow Trails, the conditions weren't the best so I'm sure the slopes are better when there are better conditions which was honestly my biggest complaint. The lifts do seem small and there isn't much room for getting on the lifts. It's nice that you can get your lift passes and rentals in one spot rather than have to walk somewhere else to pick up rental equipment. The lodge is awesome and has great ambiance. I haven't had any food or drink from the lodge or really spent a ton of time here but I look forward to coming back and getting to know the place better.

My biggest complaint is their snowmaking and grooming, which pales in comparison to their neighbors at snowtrails. Even with the addition of a massive fleet of TechnoAlpin fan guns this year, there was still sparse coverage on 2 of their main hills (off the double chair) after plenty of cold temp days. The groupon deals, and the lack of the crowds right now are both reasons why I would give them 4 stars. The staff was also generally happy, seemed like a "family run" kind of place. The potential lies in the terrain. They have a good glade run cut, and a natural snow trail that runs along a narrow ridge that is fun. If they cut more trails into the trees they would have a lot of variety fast. Watch out for icy sidewalks and parking lots for now.

Under new ownership and breaking ground for a ton of timeshares to be built in the next year I could only expect for this place to give you something fun to do in the middle of what the heck is there to do in Ohio! However, this is a great place to learn and practice. Keep an eye on Groupon to see about deals with this place and it may be worth the ride for you.

The main door had a visible gap under it. There was torn/loose wallpaper throughout. This facility has seen some hard use and little or no repair. The house looked like it was being used for storage both inside and out. Outside, there were junk cars stored nearby. Everything just looked or felt dirty and cluttered. We thought that with three couples it would be a nice place to relax and socialize, but it was the exact opposite. The six of us were never SO happy to leave this miserable facility, check into a regular hotel, take a shower and feel clean again! Customer service is virtually non-existent with several contacts going unanswered and most others taking 24 hours before getting some reply. Reporting ALL these issues were dismissed even though we have photographic proof of the horrible condition! There were not many people there, but I don't think the defunct-ski-resort-turned-ATV-park had been open for very long. The lodge/Bar/Restaurant building was clean and air conditioned with decent restroom facilities. Sunday was the fourth time that I've ridden the Clear Fork Adventure Park in the past two years. Unfortunately, the park was in the worst shape ever. The restaurant is permanently closed. They used to mow all of the ski hills and the land surrounding the adult and kids' dirt tracks. The kids track was so overgrown, I had trouble finding it. Almost all of the grass on the property was 2-4 feet tall. I encountered many thorny vines growing across the poorly-marked trails (dark-red spray-painted dots on trees mean wrong-way; dark-green spray-painted dots mean right-way). I used to like to ride this place on the weekend for safety reasons (rather than face the high-traffic trails at Wayne on weekends). It was a nice place to take the kids, and it's only an hour away from home. Unfortunately, it is not going to survive by charging riders $20 per day and failing to perform minimal maintenance on the property. The hours of operation are pretty strange as well: Wed - Sun, noon - 7 PM. We were told the resort has been sold two or three times, and it is currently owned by an investment group in Utah that owns 27 other resorts (this is the only one that is an ATV park).

Nicole brought her own snowboard, and I borrowed my father‑in‑law's skis--felt like a true family outing from the start. Even though the weather was warm and rainy, it didn't take away from the fun. We still enjoyed cruising down the hills together and making the most of the day. I needed a fresh pair of ski socks, and the ski shop had exactly what I needed--comfortable, warm, and ready for the slopes. Around noon we headed into the lodge and grabbed lunch by the fireplace. Sitting by the hearth with everything warm and toasty was such a cozy break. We enjoyed hot chocolate, a Miller Lite, honey hot tenders with fries, a bowl of chili, and a cheeseburger--everything hit the spot. We're wrapping up the day with a few more runs, and honestly, it's been the perfect mix of family time, fresh air, and winter fun. That being said here's my take on some of the issues and why I'm giving it 2 Stars. One lift ticket prices are not representative of value. It's around $40 for a lift ticket where the chair lifts that once had safety bars on them have been removed for some unexplainable reason. That nearly all of the lifts or slowed down to a snail's pace. I can appreciate that it's a small ski area but a fast lift might increase the enjoyability of a small hill. Two we just went through a pretty disastrous warm spell which took away most of the base of this area however if given the opportunity they should be running this snowmakers at all times regardless if customers are there or not. Ohio weather is finicky and you should make snow while you have the opportunity to. For the amount of cold days and nights that we've had there was way too much Brown here. Three. The entire place is run by high schoolers. The kitchen area had for employees that were to prepare food for the school lunches styleline and the three males were busy flirting with the one female who is there. Me while it's 11:30 and there's no hot food on the line for the 13 people of mine who wanted to eat. There was no management no oversight nobody help them ramp for an impending lunch hour. Granted comparing this to the Alpine Valley of my youth where they were authority figures and managers everywhere helping the keep skiers in line and the business running smoothly. That coupled with it no longer opens in the morning and closes late at night they have very limited hours of operation. While I realize and appreciate that this is a seasonal business and they must make money while they can, it seems like there are many sailors and no Captain.

Buckeye Sports Center - Shame on you!!!…read more Saturday of last week I went to Buckeye Sports Center to pickup my skis that were being tuned and to pickup another set of older skis that I attempted to sell at their annual ski swap. My older skis did not sell and I needed to pick them up. I was late picking up my skis as a result of my Father's illness, death and funeral. Buckeye Sports Center informed me that because I was late picking up my skis from the ski swap that I was not entitled to the return of my skis or the 200 dollars that I was attempting to sell them for (for which I was to receive store credit). Please note that Buckeye Sports still had plenty of other skis in back remaining to be picked up, they just for a very odd reason did not have my skis. I gave my return ticket to the store clerk and he stated that their records indicated that someone had already picked up my skis. My response was, "well clearly you gave my skis to the wrong person." The clerk responded, "how do we know that" - implying that I was lying to him. Please note that I have been a customer of Buckeye Sports for several decades and as recently had 4 pairs of skis tuned by them. I asked the clerk to review the situation with the owner of Buckeye Sports who was in back and he did. The owner did not have the respect, nor the character, to speak directly with me and instructed the clerk to tell me that there was nothing ownership was willing to do. Thereby callously disregarding why I was late picking up the skis and completely ignoring the fact that the reason why the skis were not there was because his employees made a mistake and gave my skis to another customer who had similar skis. Mistakes happen, but there is no excuse for Buckeye Sports' poor treatment of me as their customer and unwillingness to correct the mistake that was made by their staff member. Needless to say, I will never shop at Buckeye Sports. Their actions yesterday demonstrate bad business practices and even worse business ethics.
