I love Hobby Lobby, the selections are amazing, the staff is very friendly and helpful too! Love this place

I love love Hobby Lobby, but they have a manager there that needs some serious management training. She is going to get them a law suit if she does not correct her ways, she is always up front & her name starts with a "V". I heard her say some stupid stuff for a manager, just after the Covid scare, "where is everyone getting their money from", because a Mexican family was buying a lot decorations for a party!. On another occasion during the day & the lines were long", doesn't anyone work anymore!. Just yesterday I had a $45 order, all I had was a hundred on me, the cashier asked if I had something smaller, I did not, she called "V" over & she asked the same question, I said NO, sorry. She said I would end up with a bunch of $1's, I said no problem, she came back with like 50 $1's & some $5's - she told the cashier, the RULE is you have to use the $1's first. Well the cashier did not listen to her & gave me $5's. As I was walking out, I swear she went into a victory dance. (Not knowing I got $5's instead of $1's) I am contacting corporate - that was the final straw. Really "Rule", she sounded stupid, that's the RULE. Imagine a manger behaving that way. read more

Not to single out this location... I seriously do not like Hobby Lobby, no matter the location. I will say the music was pleasant, the selection okay, and the store was clean, but they need to understand that they're missing out on certain communities of people. The first, us Neuro Spicy brained people/autistics. Not a single sign whatsoever on what's where, what's down the aisle, nothing. It becomes very overwhelming and stressful. The second group of people? Any and all with a bad neck. Not having signage, forces us to look down each and every aisle before going in it, causing someone like me with a birth defect and cervical instability to become very dizzy. Yes, I could have asked for help, but I chose to familiarize myself with the store. Not realizing years and years since I've been in one, they still don't have any signs at the end of their aisles. Is it laziness? I have no idea, but as a highly creative in many areas, I'm done with Hobby Lobby. As an art store, GET CREATIVE, and put up some signs. read more

I came on January 1,2026 at 5:00 pm and an employee was outside saying that the store was closed and didn't let me in, although google stated that they close at 5:30. The employee then says that the office made a mistake on the hours. I then called 2 other locations, Santa Clarita and Burbank, and they said they are open until 5:30, which aligns with the hours listed online. Furthermore, I asked them if all stores should be closing at 5:30 today, and both said yes. I would appreciate if this gets addressed with the closing manager, being it was very inconvenient driving from West Hills to Simi Valley just to be turned away for an inconvenience on their part. read more

Get ready, the holidays are fastly approaching.... Did a quick wander around right after dinner and wow, they wasn't lying about holidays deal. Right when you walk in, there's loads of signs plastered all over the stores with deals on deals. Good in a sense that you're saving money. Right when you walk in, if you haven't been it's a holiday Mecca. All the autumn foliage are on full displays and comes with a very good discount. Basically everything for fall is on sale. Load up on whatever you want now for the deals. And to add to that, Christmas items are already 50 percent off. Mind you were still august. But all you early bird shoppers, this is the time. Besides holiday items, it's a major home and craft store. Literally everything from yarn and fabric, to dishes and pillows and everything in between. There's even a frame department. I love coming to this hobby lobby as other ones they always have sales with I feel I live for their selection here and the staff is helpful . They have many things to choose from and great isles with sales I like how they organize by theme makes it easier to find what you need or want . Everything I've bought usually last a good minute so I can't complain definitely my go to hobby lobby. read more

The five stars is for Henry in framing. Henry exceeds the expectation. I brought in this painting of Saint Anthony with baby Jesus that belonged to my grandmother. This painting, I remember as a child seeing hung up in her living room. I brought it in in horrible shape with broken glass. I told him it was just very sentimental to me specially with a lot of family circumstances happening right now be carefully held it, carefully looked at it. He was very honest he said he couldn't do much for the frame. The frame is not in great shape, but since it's sentimental, I'd rather keep that frame than have a new one. He said he would repay the back put UV glass that helps protect the piece. I thought I wouldn't get a phone call at least for a week that I think it was one or two days later he called and it was done. I couldn't believe it. I didn't know that they will repay the back of pictures, Art or Art for you. And I didn't know that they replaced the glass. This is great. read more

Every employee that works here seems upset and a bit sour. I came to buy some decorations for the tree i purchased at home depot. I was using a storage bin to carry my things because i could not find a basket. An employee, some guy with dark long hair to his shoulders, came up to me and said "we're using those for stocking" and stood there till i took my things out of the storage bin and left me there with all the things in my hands. I had to walk to the front of the store again and hunt down a basket. That's some sorry ass customer service! i had moved sections later and he came to where i was standing again, tried to move some other decorations and dropped an entire bin of decorations on my legs and shoes! I tried to refrain from being nasty. I was pretty irritated and upset at that point. Can't shop in peace in this store without employees or other people being on top of you. read more

My experience with Hobby Lobby was A++!! I went there for frames. Some of the items were not standard sizes so I sought help from a nice gentleman named Scott in their framing department. What a pleasure! He was exceptionally pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful, patient and professional. Since I had a few pieces, it required probably 20 or more minutes of his time but I never got the slightest sense that he was interested in moving me on so he could get back to doing something else. Plus, he seemed genuinely interested in helping me get what I wanted. It was such a pleasant experience that I felt like I needed to announce it on Yelp. Vicky is helpful, LEWIS or Louis (don't know how you spell it), is so unprofessional, rushes you when you speak, cuts you off when you are talking, and will snap at you when you are asking for directions. The store isn't marked with aisle numbers, nor are you allowed to put anything on hold. You need to reconsider your hiring process, we dread having to shop here. He needs to be placed on a corrective action program for his customer service in a Christian business. read more

Love most hobby lobby's but everyone that works here seems lost and doesn't have simple customer service skills that my 4 year old understands intuitively. Wish I was making a joke but I miss Joann's this place is not good I blame management. Would not recommend coming here unless you really need something and even then I'd rather travel 3 hours to the next hobby lobby. read more

Ok thus was my first time ever in a Hobby Lobby. Yeah I know but I was like I've heard about them so much let me go in and check it out. Let me say I was really surprised. I've never knew a place existed with so much stuff I know I don't need but really would like to have. I mean if I wouldn't have had enough strength I could have really bought alot. I would like to think I won't be back but I know I will. They have something for almost everything and everyone. I was impressed with the fact that they had me sucked in so easily and then there was just plain junk but then again someone may be saying the same things about the stuff I was looking at. I really like the store itself -- you can find anything you need for handmade projects there. But the staff, all these older women, always work so slowly, and the lines are huge. There's always one person at the register, and right next to them are three others just standing around doing nothing. Every time. Never once have I come in and seen multiple registers open. One time I tried to return something, and the girl just said, "Oh, I don't like doing that." Terrible customer service. I honestly wish they would completely replace all the cashiers, managers, and the entire store team. read more

Horrible experience ! The cashier Kristina was so rude and disrespectful! She got upset because I told her I didn't want the tape rolls and made a rude comment to another cashier "why does everyone think tape is on sale " I told her because it's in the sale area of Christmas isle. I made a comment to her "maybe it should be put in another location so us clients don't think it's on sale too" Well she blasted out and yelled to another cashier telling her I don't want to help her (me the client ) . WOW! In my 37 years I have never seen this !!! another cashier came and was blunt /rude too didn't even apologize ! I felt Kristina was Bias towards me . Kristina was so rude she needs to be coached on providing good customer service if She can't handle simple situations she should not work in the register . I called the store manager he apologize and did tell me that in small print it says tape is not on sale , which I apologize to him for not reading it. I express to him it's misleading that tape is in 60%off Christmas sale isles with a little fine print . He did say he told his superiors about tape misleading issue . I did comment to him Kristina should have nicely just explain this and case over ! He supported my opinion and said he would talk to her . Being to multiple locations of Hobby Lobby I found this location to be one of my favorites. Easy parking, fast service and nice organization. I had a random question about one item that didn't have pricing and I was helped almost immediately. When I first moved to Simi Valley I used to love coming to this store for all my crafting projects! The store itself is fine, clean, organized and good selection but my past few trips have been less than pleasant when my family and I have paid at checkout. The cashiers are not welcoming or friendly, very uncomfortable to have them stare at you with an annoyed face while you're trying to pay, they tend to have a rude demeanor when addressing you. Not just one employee but multiple encounters. Would love to give this store a better rating if the employees, especially the cashiers did not make the experience so uncomfortable. read more

This is the second time I've had a less than pleasant experience. Waiting in line with at least 6 or 7 other people. There was 1 cashier and 6 employees standing around at the other cash registers. Literally 6!! After about 7 minutes someone jumped on to help with the line. I had an item that was missing a small piece and I asked if it was on sale. One of the other employees came over quickly and said $3 off and final sale. I said no thank you but asked the cashier that was helping me if he wouldn't mind scanning it because I had a feeling it was on sale. He said he didn't have a scanner. LOL literally. I then asked if they accepted Apple Pay and he said no. So I told him I was going to leave everything in my cart and push it to the side while I ran to my car to grab my purse. He put his hand on his head and sighed very loud and annoyed. I told him not to worry, it was no big deal. I moved my cart to the side while he continued his very odd over reaction. Then I left and decided I would absolutely not be back. What is wrong with all these people? Why do they all act as if I'm disturbing them in their home?? Like how dare I!! How can you run a business like this?? Who raised these ass hats?? Hiring manager should be fired, along with everyone else. read more

I really enjoy shopping at hobby lobby, although sometimes I have to wait after a week to get the better prices. Store is clean. I do have one complaint. Customer service isn't great especially from a lady name ALEX there. Never smiles, never warm. Always made me feel like I was irritating her by asking her where to find ONE item. It's not just one time, but every single time I need help looking for something and she happens to be the only worker there. It's gotten to a point where I just want to avoid her and find someone else to ask for help. I've somehow unfortunately spoken to her on the phone as well to see if the store carries a certain item, same customer service whether it's on the phone or in person. Huge store with a beautiful selection of home decor and craft supplies ... but wait until you get to the checkout line. What's taking so long? What's that person buying? No, it's not them, the next person's checkout is also taking forever ... okay, 15 minutes and a new friendship with the toddler in front of me later, and it's finally my turn at the register. Let's see why it takes so long to get out of this store. It's ALL manual. The cashiers type in each item by its code, not by scanning. They check for each item on sale against a paper copy of the sale flyer. What year is it? And speaking of the sale flyer - do not get excited by offers like "50% off jewelry making" because the sales are specific to brands, and you just might be unlucky like me and choose the full-price brands. I cannot see myself making the trek from T.O. to the far side of Simi Valley again soon, when I have other craft store options right here in T.O., as well as Moorpark and Westlake Village. Sorry, Hobby Lobby, you need to automate that checkout line! read more

The store itself is wonderful along with majority of their employees. I come here often & get all of my Christmas decor here. However, Vicky the store manager was extremely rude & embarrassed me in front of a line of people. I was getting an item that didn't have price tags on them & she walked up with the worst attitude & was grunting at me as she looked up the price & said "there's a whole line of people waiting can you look it up on your phone". Continued to be annoyed by me & when I went to pay with a $100 dollar bill she made a rude comment & seemed extremely bothered. There was 1 check out line which is not my fault as a customer & not my fault she doesn't know the price of store items. Lastly, she was rude to her employees. And yes, there was a line of people waiting who she also decided to be extremely unprofessional in front of. Bummer when a store employee can truly ruin the environment of a store. The store has very nice displays and items on sale for 40 or 50% off with signs on all of the shelves but it seems like everything I choose doesn't qualify for the sale. Went in today and walked out with nothing.....again. This is the 2nd time in a month or so that's happened. Also, it's mid July and they already started stocking Christmas decorations. The store itself is clean and organized. I wish I could say the same for the front end people in charge. On a Tuesday night at about 7:00 pm, the only check-out line open was the returns line. The person in charge was giving a training session to the cashier on how to process the returns someone had brought in. They were just meandering along, slowly going through it, without any awareness for the people lining up to just check out. Finally, after waiting for ten minutes and about seven people in line she called someone for help. Maybe Hobby Lobby should join the 21st century and have a self check-out option. read more

This Hobby Lobby location is pretty nice. The selection is good imo, I really like how they have dollhouse related items. I can never find those at other crafting stores so that's mainly what I come here for. The prices of the dollhouse items is pretty typical so I'd say of average value. I never see workers to ask for help but usually when I go I know what I need so that doesn't matter to me as much. However, the lines and checkout take a long time. They don't have a typical checkout process so the workers have to type in each code individually which is a pain to the customer and I'm sure the employees as well. The design of the store is kinda ugly. It reminds me of a warehouse. I personally prefer Michael's or Joann's but for dollhouse items I come here. read more

However, modeling is a token, small trains sets almost non-existent, small Estes rocket section.....where are the actual hobbies if your not a bored middle-aged woman? Products may be abundant, with a wide selection across all imaginable hobbies and crafts. If the staff had abundant customer service, this place would be GREAT. Allowing returns at the register while the line is snaking along the aisles wastes time and creates more in-line frustrations. The cashiers move like old motor oil, with just as dark and unwelcoming attitudes. The manager appeared RACIST as she moved along the lines, selecting people behind me with WAY more merchandise to purchase. The ultimate insult was when I handed my money to the cashier, and she placed my change on the counter as if my presence disgusted her. I'm NEVER going back to this establishment.
