This store is really big. It is very clean and organized. The employees I encountered were kind.

Today was my first visit to Hobby Lobby. The store is huge and has a great selection of everything - craft supplies, home decor, silk flowers, picture frames, paints, yarn, fabrics - the list goes on. I am a knitter and went over to do a look-touch in the yarn department. When I'd gone on Hobby Lobby's website I saw they only sell their house brand. The quality of their acrylic yarn looks and feels good, and they do carry wool and acrylic mixes. The prices were about what you'd see at JoAnn's, but I was told by an employee that every other week all the yarn is discounted 30%. The fabrics are also discounted 30% on the weeks that the yarn isn't. My husband bought a picture frame, and for a slight charge the custom framing department modified it so he could hang it the way he wanted. The store wasn't crowded and everyone was wearing a mask. I usually shop on off days anyway, so I'm not able to comment about the experiences of those who gave the store low reviews. The only reason for leaving off a star was that the aisles are not numbered, which makes it hard to find things. There were plenty of employees on the floor to help, but I could see how this could be a problem if the store was busy. read more

Being minority myself, I was irked by another review, so I came here all the way from Sherman Oaks, tatts, dyed hair, piercings & all. I was wearing combat boots & an oversized sweater, probably looked homeless --all of these did not matter. Not to invalidate the person's experience, just to solidify my own. The employees were nice and super helpful. No one bothered me and I was able to shop in peace until the end. It was my first time shopping here, but definitely not my last. & Can I say something about the ORGANIZATION, though?? Like, HOLY MOLY. Great job, employees of HL. I made the trip about 30 minutes out to this hobby lobby as it's the closest one to my location . Upon arriving i was pleased at all the offerings and items available. I was having a great visit ! It really just took the cashier to make my visit a bad one . I was rung up by Vicky (who i believe was some sort of lead? She wasn't wearing the blue uniform) . The line was very long so it made sense . When i arrived to her lane she looked absolutely miserable and her attitude reflected just that . As i approach her with a smile she just stares dryly at me and not a hello or anything . After checking out she just hands the bag to me not even looking at me . Looking pissed off to the right . Not a "goodbye" or a "thank you" . Silence . It was really off putting . Made me feel not valued , and especially not welcome . I was upset as i had made a far trip out and to be treated poorly by someone in a leadership role . read more

I wish I could give this location a good review. But the manger Chris is something else rude to his employees and calling them out on the sales floor in front of customers. He called out one of his employees today right in front of me & it was a very awkward feeling & I could tell the employe felt uncomfortable as well she was shaking while she was ringing me up & kept saying sorry. I don't know why every time I've visited this location theres only 1 cashier. I've gone at different times. One time there was actually 2 cashiers for a change I was like yay another cashier. After standing there a few mins says go to the other line and refused to help me. Today was the last time I set foot into this location. 1 cashier once again and the woman in front of me took 8 mins to return 60.00 worth of small items. Again plenty of employees but 1 register. It was closing time and I had 1 frame to exchange after having it 1 day the glass had a small piece missing from it. They simply refused to honor the sales price and wanted to charge me full price for the exchanged item. I understand policy. It's just businesses like this who don't care about people anymore is why ill choose to stay away. I always dreaded going into this location. I'll just stay out and spend my money where I don't I don't feel like they're doing me a favor and where they're not so mean to people. read more

Great merchandise, friendly staff BUT to cheat customers is completely rude, disrespectful and uncalled for. I was greeted so nicely by the owner of the store so I went ahead and I bought a beautiful clock yesterday and many other things. It had a $9.95 teal sticker on the packaging on the top left portion. This place just opened up in SIMI Valley, and while I was initially excited about having such a huge craft store so close to me, I have soon discovered what a hypocritical, non-Christian based store this is. First off, I am new to crafting but have invested almost every Cricut product there is out there, and have quickly gone from beginner sewer to advanced intermediate fairly quickly and have been excited to be able to make my friends and family Christmas Presents that I can be proud of. Because of that, I have been there (Hobby Lobby) 3-4 times a week, purchasing fabric or other odds and ends that I need for my project. The evening management asking " oh you're back- what are you making now?" However, this morning I ran out of some bias tape and needed to run in real quick to finish what I was working on, which I'm usually not there first thing in the morning so I didn't recognize any staff or anyone there and so quickly they summed me up and I was followed around the store. I do know having pink hair and tattoos singles me out and I am well aware of my need to have thick skin when it comes to dealing with narrow minded people, however annoying it was, I paid little attention as I wasn't doing anything wrong, which I never have. So I got my things, got in line, and then remembered I needed some empty bobbins, so I ran over to get them and when I did, one of my items I was purchasing fell out of my hands so I went to pick it up and I reorganized everything in my hands as that was the 3rd or 4th time I dropped something that morning. I went back to check out and quickly noticed the management surrounding me, "Whatever" I thought to myself, but as I was walking out, they decided to so rudely and unprofessional let me know that they needed to speak to me, and that an employee "Physically with their(her) own 2 eyes watched me put something in my purse". Not that they might have suspicion, but that they actually saw me do this!!!! I thought WoW!! I have spent close to $5000 with them just this month alone and they're are going to accuse me in front of everyone that I am shoplifting!! So I let them know that I don't have to do this, but I am going to, to prove that they have nothing but judgemental haters working there and allowed her to look into my purse. I had practically a 100% empty purse with only my wallet and a make-up bag in it so there would be no question in their mind that they may have overlooked the "stolen" items in my purse!! When they were proved wrong they did not apologize to me, they did nothing but walk away!,,, I was treated no different than any of the victims that led to the creation of the "BLACK LIVES MATTER" campaign. I am disappointed by the poor treatment and choices this company made. Not only did it anger me to be judged unfairly because of having tattoos and pink hair, but I was embarrassed by their lack of professionalism to single me out In front of an entire store full of people. At no time did they talk to me privately or to the side but chose rather to speak to me from a distance of at least 5 feet away. What if my neighbors were there, what are they going to think? I have no idea who was there, but I know that they sure thought that it was just fine to accuse an innocent person of breaking the law for NO REASON!!!!!!!! I can go on about the lack of professionalism, but to pride themselves on being a faith based Christian store, they were far from any type of Christianity I have known. Finally glad they're open. Bought some items today and had nothing but positive contacts with the employees there. Will definitely return.

They will not honor the discounts even if the sign is right above the said product. So I went in to buy eva foam sheets. All my 2mm sheets rang up with the 40% discount however two of the 5mm foam sheets did not. So the cashier called a floor manager for a price check. I kindly explained the sign said ALL foam sheets were on sale. The manager told me that the sign must've been there for a different brand than I had... well when there is only one brand of foam in the entire aisle that's hard to believe. So she walked me to the product to show me, I assume that I was wrong. Lo and behold there was the sign above the foam sheet display and only one brand. She then says "well it says cosplay eva foam sheets, clay and pellets." I explain cosplay is in fact not a brand they carry but the practice of dressing up as a character and the foam sheets are what cosplayers use to create elaborate costumes. EVA I go on, is a type of foam also not a brand. She disagrees... so now there are two of them arguing about how did this sign end up here. "It must been a leftover sign..." well no because it says December 5th. Okay so now at this point they want to show me the correct product that is meant for 40% off. I show them yes, I also have that product in my cart. But I ask them to show me where on this product does it say "cosplay" like the brand they insist exist. They can't because it doesn't. So their reasoning the sign works for this particular product is because it says EVA foam. Dude both products are freaking EVA a type of poly foam. Okay now after all this they just say sorry no discount. So I walk back to the cashier and let her know to cancel my $100 cart of many items because they won't accept they're wrong and should honor the sale. It was like a 1.50 saving for me and obviously wasn't about the money but about the way they treat customers. I will not go back, I can find the same products at Joanns, michaels or Amazon. read more

Why is their checkout process stuck in the 80's? No scanners...no sale prices are automatic. They literally type in the price, look at an ad in a drawer and apply the sale discount if there is one. Ridiculous. And knowing this they never have enough cashiers working. read more

I love this store, however the assistant manager is a piece of work. Her name is Gabby and she is rude to the customers and refuses to let paying customers in the store if it's close to closing even though the store was open. I've had multiple issues with her and she should not be allowed to interact with the customers. read more

I've never left a bad review in my life but this store deserves one. I came here to grab some things and in my 30 or so minutes in the store I observed 3 employees wearing a mask under their nose. All while checking out customers with management standing right there, doing nothing about it. Management even encouraged me to move to a different lane for less wait time, to which I said no thank you, as the checker had her mask under her nose. Not only that, but a woman in line to check out with no mask on at all, with management standing there saying nothing. The lines are LONG, so if you're the unlucky one behind the woman with no mask, you can expect to be next to her for at least 15 minutes. I've never had such an uncomfortable shopping experience. I'll drive out to michael's in moorpark before I go to hobby lobby again. read more

Helllll no! I was excited to see a location closer to me than Oxnard or Burbank (I live in the SFV), but when I went today, there is NO SOCIAL DISTANCING! There were HUNDREDS of people just in the check out lines, and I am not exaggerating. At a quick glance I saw at least 4 lines with 25-30 people in each and the store itself was packed with people. Even without COVID, I wouldn't have wanted to be in there crashing shopping carts with everyone else crammed in there, nor would I want to wait in those lines, but with COVID, this was ridiculous!!! I made it about 15 feet into the building and I turned around and left. Talk about Super Spreaders!!!!! read more

I took a valuable sports collectible piece in to HobbyLobby to have it fixed- one of the baseballs had come loose in shipping & it was blemished in transport as well. I brought it in & spoke to Terry, who was wonderful to work with!!! She assured me it could be fixed & would be ready in a few days. Sure enough, I got a call from Henry, their master framer, to discuss the item & we confirmed what needed to be done and he could not have been nicer to work with!! One day later the piece was ready and looking good as new!!! Henry did a masterful job of restoration & their entire team, including Cheyenne who brought it to pick up for me, could not have been more wonderful to deal with!!!! This is to be a gift for my son to be one-year-old grandson because he shares a birthday with the athlete who the shadow box is dedicated to. Thank you again, hobby lobby, for hiring great people like Henry, Terry & Cheyenne!!!! read more
