Okay so this is an updated review from the last time I was there. We went there today to get a picture frame for a marriage certificate and a couple other things to hang a couple of pictures frames and a shelf. The lady of the picture frame Making Place we had told her we need marriage certificate frame she suggested a 12 by 12. She made the frame for us put the backing put the certificate inside of it hung it for us. Last time I was there I could not find no help to find a model rocket for my son she took me over to where they were give me a few suggestions was very kind professional and helpful. For those Reasons I'm giving them two more stars on the only other complaint would be is checkout lines are not very well-marked for who is open and who is closed read more

I absolutely love this place, it's incredibly large and I could get lost in here for hours. I even think that it's more affordable here then it is at Michael's, you just have to make sure you use the coupons offered online and in store, and the selection is greater. Being that I'm a cocktail waitress who has to get creative with outfits during certain holidays, I've found myself here buying party supplies, tulle for homemade tutus and hair accessories. Everyone that works here is really friendly and willing to help you find what you need and get creative in the process. Definitely going here over any fabric store or hobby shop again. read more

Um, somehow I had never stepped foot in this place. I'm glad I did visit this location finally. Best yarn selection I've seen. Ever. I mean ever ever. Okay, on a return visit I realize that they have many hues of yarn colors but mostly their own store brand. Bernat baby blanket yarn? Hello? Did I miss something? I know now that if I am looking for something special, they will probably have it. I'd say 50% of the store is decorative knick knacks, etc in center. WAIT, NO RAINBOW LOOM? Is that dying? Anyway, I had to step away from the yarn, because, well, I don't need it this second. They have fabric, crafts, artist supplies, framing. Coupon on phone helped CHA CHING! for discount. I used to really think Hobby Lobby was awesome. I think just the sheer volume of fun things was great to see at first. But the more I shopped there, owned some of the items and eventually needed to return a broken light, I realized they really just sell a lot of cheaply made items for a bit too much. Horrible return policy in my opinion. I just don't go in anymore. There are better options. read more

I am an interior designer and spend at least $100 at this particular hobby lobby location per month. Even though Michael's is literally in the same parking lot - I always thought hobby lobby had better prices. But the craziest thing happened to me here tonight & I will NEVER, ever go to this location AGAIN! I ran over there while my daughter was at dance class to get a glue gun & some floral wire, etc. They didn't have any baskets up front, only carts. So I ran around the store trying to get what I needed, before I had to pick my daughter up. When I couldn't comfortably carry the 5 items i needed in my hand - I put them in my oversized bag - something I have done a hundred times at different stores - in my life, because I always carry oversized bags when I'm shopping, so I don't need to use plastic bags. Obviously I wasn't trying to hide anything - I was just walking around the store trying to find super glue when these 2 awful women came over & made me dump out my bag, which I gladly did - because I had nothing to hide - I was just shopping. Then one of them proceeds to actually take away my notebook "because I didn't have a receipt for it" - even though I didn't even buy it at that store. She also takes all the other hobby lobby items in my purse from me and won't even let me buy them!!? She tells me it is illegal to carry unpaid for items in my personal bag and that She won't let me pay for them & if I come back she will call the police. According to her it is "concealment." Hello, have some baskets available & I won't have to carry items in my bag! So I just give up and walk to the other side of the parking lot to buy the exact same items at Michael's - which came out to 70% of what I was about to spend at Hobby Lobby! I guess I was wrong about the prices? Any how, at this point I'm really doubting myself and thinking maybe it is illegal to carry unpaid for items in my bag while I'm shopping? When I get home I call my lawyer to check & he says, No it isn't - it's only illegal if I walk past the cash register "point of sale" or leave the store with unpaid items. If they think I'm "concealing" items - the have the right ask to look in my pockets or bag, but if I'm only holding items I intend to pay for & then Proceed to pay for them - then, well that's THEIR MISTAKE & they should apologize! So Basically this woman & her coworker totally lied to me & threatened me with the police & wasted my time & stole my new notebook - for literally no reason! WTF? Lesson learned. Next time a store is this disorganized & doesn't have a basket or cart, I will just go across the street to their competitor, instead of risking being treated like a criminal when I'm literally just trying to give them my money. If I could give zero stars I would "Wendy" the cashier was so beyond rude to us tonight. The communication between her and the manager seemed sexually charged as well as condescending to me and my wife. Am a lesbian couple getting married I can't help but think this was discrimination it's 2019 people! Though there was a miscommunication between the for sale signs and what we were getting could have easily been a simple error turned into being accused of making it up! Hobby lobby hates lesbians!!! I think it is unfair that a store this size is not computerized. I say this Every time I leave one. It is subjective for the person at the register to decide if something is on sale when there clearly a sign right next to the product. I cannot believe AZ weights and measures lets them get away with this. Having to look at a sheet to see what is on sale is ridiculous. I lose money each time because who wants to go back in after you check your receipt. Stupid me I guess. Michaels and JoAnns are better options for me I guess. Yes the store is clean, and it has more home good options but I just can't get past the "let me check and see if it is on sale off a paper" sorry gotta go somewhere else! read more

Terrible customer service! They post signs in the isles and above a product that is not on sale. It happened to me yesterday and when I questioned it to the cashier, she looked up something and said that what I purchased was not on sale. When I asked her if I can show her the sign that was right above the product she quickly brushed me off and said I can't leave the register. Not, let me get someone to check it out. I finally asked if she could call a manager. While we were waiting, the line was getting long. Cashier had no interest in the long line but I did. I suggested that she check me out with the other items I purchased so the customers behind me can also get checked out. Had I not suggested that she would have just waited with very little interest about the other customers. Finally, a manager came over and I asked if she would walk back with me to see the sign that was DIRECTLY above the product I was purchasing. The look on her face was a good indication that she had been down that road before but she did follow me back. Only to show me the small lettering in the upper left corner that showed the product name that was on sale. When I asked where that product would be we walked approximately 6 steps over to see what was on sale. This is not good practice. Show the sign where the product is. I'm all about giving good reviews where deserved but when I checked out other reviews and they had the same frustration as I did, I felt it necessary to comment. It's a shame that this store is so close to my home but I will not shop there again. Understand something Hobby Lobby, we are the customers that keep you in business!! read more

Cynthia in the framing department is by far the best example of customer service, I have experienced in a long time. I wanted a picture frame repaired or replaced. She said that they don't repair there, but then proceeded to show me how to make minor repairs, and return for a refit for a very reasonable price. She also walked me to where the wood glues were and helped me take my purchases to check out counter. I am not accustomed to such personal service. Nice to see it still exists. read more

This store has zero customer service skills. I don't know how many times I have gone in this store and no one greets me nor asks if I need help. When I need help, there is no one around to answer questions. If you are looking for faith based things like crosses or bible school things they have so many things it is awesome! I even found Christian cloth material to make a bulletin board. Hobby Lobby you ever expanding land of crafts. Not being crafty myself I usually show up with the lady to find some fun DIY items. The thing that gets me, and it's not the stores fault but an overall company directive is that everything is always discounted. So why not just make that the regular price and give me incentive based deals to promote more spending. It's just weird to hang signs everywhere discounting stuff like you're a value store. You're much better and have higher quality products than that. read more

I went to the custom frame department to have a photo framed. The employee did everything she could to steer me away from ordering a custom frame. Suggested a stock frame on the wall, told me the mat I had picked out wasn't good, told me it was going to take 2 weeks like she thought that would send me walking. This is probably one of my favorite stores in Arizona. Hobby Lobby has everything you will need to create wonderful works of art. Just to be clear, this is not a replacement for Arizona Art Supply or Blick. If you are a professional artist looking for specific tools, I would suggest going to an art supply store. There are some tools I use that Hobby Lobby does not carry. For example, they do not carry Montana, Molotov or Ironlac spray paint. If you do art as a "Hobby" than this is the store for you. I should warn you, my average shopping cart ranges from $50-$100 bucks no matter what I'm looking for. Hobby Lobby gives you a glimpse of all the possibilities you can create. The one negative comment I will make is that some items are way over priced. If you can find what you're looking for at Walmart, go to Walmart and buy it. You will save a ton of money. Like, if you need a yard stick or large metal ruler, look elsewhere. read more

Horrible experience today! Waiting in line for 5 minutes and next customer comes up and a cashier tells her to go to a new register immediately to be checked out. Then once the next cashier was ready our things were scanned. Cashier, CONNIE, picks an item and then we say we have a coupon. This was the cheapest item. I said I'd like to use the coupon on the more expensive item. She defensively and condescendingly states, "See this tag says SPRING??? You can't use the coupon for sale items." We apologized and said we didn't know it was on sale. She continued to say we couldn't use the coupon for sale items and that everything else we had was on sale. We finally said we got it. Then she said to us that she wanted to see if we had everything scanned and didn't have anything else in our stroller!!!! WHAT??? She then looked over the counter at the stroller! Watch the register and prices, or half the time they will overcharge you! They have huge signs showing percentages off right above an item, yet apparently those discounts are somehow not in the system. So of course I have to walk back from my car, only to hear another cashier say " yes those are supposed to be half off I was just in that isle. ". Apparently, as another reviewer put it, you get robbed if a cashier doesn't remember all the sales. Don't blame the cashier, the store that is supposedly religious does it on purpose. I remember in CA when several huge grocery chains got fined millions by the state for doing the same thing. 90% of the time pricing mistakes benefit the store -- in other words, management knows it boosts profit by cheating the consumer and has no incentive to fix it. Most people don't catch the mistakes every time. If it was totally random, it would be 50%. I like Hobby Lobby but will not go back until they fix these issues. In CA at one point the stores had to give you the item for free or an extra discount if the computer overcharged you. Maybe that should be law in AZ. read more

When i was walking down the Isle an employee bumped into me and didnt say anything, just kept walking. Then when i checked out, the girl at the register (DEBBIE) was the RUDEST!! I love Hobby Lobby. They have everything that you could possibly need there. I especially love their clearance section. I visited this location last night. I wasn't quit sure what there hours were but walked in around 8:45 pm. I started walking down the first aisle, when I heard the announcement that they would be closing in 15 minutes. I headed to the section that I needed when I heard another announcement that they would be closing in 10 minutes. I knew I had to hurry at that point. I was just about ready to head towards the registers when one of the employees flicked the lights and then proceeded to announce that the store would be closing in 5 minutes. I have never been to any store that has that many announcements to remind the customers of when the store was closing, let alone, have them flick the lights. I worked in retail for many years and would never had done that. I guess the store on 75th Ave and Bell Rd. Is my go to store, even though this location is closer to my house. read more
