Never have I ever received such terrible customer service from an employee at hobby lobby. Alison the cashier was helping us check out and I inquired about a particular pillow I was looking for. I had informed her that I had asked a fellow associate who had mentioned that there are pillows scattered throughout the store. To which I showed her the picture online from the Hobby lobby website and asked her if there was any way to see if they had that particular pillow here at the store. Alison informed us that there was no way of finding out if that pillow was in stock. She said that the only way she could find out was by walking through every single one of the isles to which she reported her manager does not pay her enough to do something like that. Dear Hobby Lobby, I am writing to share my recent experience at your store located on Bell & 7th in Phoenix. As the owner of a handmade beanie shop, I rely on Hobby Lobby yarn for its quality and durability. I have been a loyal customer for years, visiting your store at least twice a week. However, I must express my disappointment with the long lines and lack of customer service at this particular location. As a former front-end manager in retail, I understand the importance of efficient checkout processes. Unfortunately, on most days, the lines are excessively long with only one cashier available. This results in extended wait times, especially when issues arise during checkout. During my recent visit, today, I witnessed a customer attempting to purchase shadow boxes that were on sale. the cashier, Alex, displayed a rude attitude towards the customer who inquired about the sale price. Despite the customer providing evidence of the sale on his phone, Alex remained dismissive and rude to him. It is disheartening to see such poor customer service at a store that I frequent regularly. As a local resident, I should not have to drive 15 miles to another Hobby Lobby location to avoid the long lines and unprofessional behavior of the staff. I have attached photos of the lengthy lines I encountered during my visit. I hope that this feedback will prompt improvements in customer service and efficiency at your Bell & 7th location. Is there any customer service training when a person is hired? There seems to be a lack of it at the checkout regularly at the Hobbly Lobby on Bell and 7th in Phoenix. One checkout girl, and seven customers waiting in line. Two managers walking by, looking at the line and doing absolutely nothing. One manager I overheard saying she was going home, the other manager was going to lunch. Another checker, a girl, came up and was counting her till, and said she wasn't open. She then called the lady behind me in line to check her out while I waited behind a large cart of merchandise. This is horrible customer service. I worked in CS for many years, it works well when basic common sense is put in the mix. I have not shopped at Hobby Lobby for months because of the chaos at the check-out. I guess I'll shop at Michaels, in the same shopping center from now on. I was not the only one upset. I'm the only one taking the time to report this. read more

The thing that I really enjoy about Hobby Lobby during the start of the holiday season is the nostalgia. It's that feeling that reminds me of childhood. It's that scent of the holiday season. It's gingerbread. It's hot cocoa. It's Christmas trees and apple cinnamon candles and that elusive magical feeling that I personally try and capture continuously as an adult during the holiday season. Hobby Lobby this time of year does that for me. I know it sounds cliche & perhaps a bit hokey, but the start of the holiday season (which nowadays seems to occur the day after Halloween) is pretty much the only time of the year that I venture into Hobby Lobby. The rest of the year, it's chock full of decor that you'd find in the very first studio apartment of a young Millennial. "Live Laugh Love" written in faded paint on weathered wood. Blocks of wood that spell out F-R-I-E-N-D-S. Glittery hearts and metal hearts and wood hearts and hearts and hearts and hearts. That's the gist of the store. All joking aside, this location is smack dab on Bell Road in Glendale. There is plenty of ample parking, but the parking stalls are fairly close together which I am not a fan of. The store is in a large complex chock full of other stores which makes the parking situation dicey. I hate parking stalls that are cramped because door dings are stupid. The store itself is clean, the employees are friendly and always available. The checkout lines move swiftly and they're always quick to open up more checkout lanes if things get too backed up. All in all... I vote YES for Hobby Lobby! read more

I would like to state that I have heard from employees that this is the most shoplifted Hobby Lobby in the city. But today when I went there to find a frame for a piece of art I made, I experienced something I'd like to share here. Here's how it happened: I walk into the store with my folder (containing my art work) in my hand, not in my bag. I wander around looking at all sorts of frames in the table decor section and frame section holding my folder/art and seeing what might work best. Hearing security needs to go to section two over the loud speaker I see a manager walking towards me but I am looking down aisles so I didn't pay much attention to her. I put my folder back in my bag because I didn't think I had found anything and I didn't want my piece to get destroyed if I dropped it or continued to hold it in my hands (greasy finger prints). I then walk by something and pull it out again. An employee comes over and is pleasantly saying something like, "Don't put that in your bag" or "That's not yours" and I show her it was my art, that I was taking out of my bag. She says it is okay and seems apologetic but can't stop saying what she thought she saw and I just repeat, "No, it's my art." Looking further at a few more frames, I make my decision, I go up to the front (actually I changed my mind again and went back for the other one I was considering) and the manager is standing at the door. I pay for the frame and after I step one foot out the door I am accused of putting a gift bag in my bag. I tell her I did not and I open my bag, pull out my folder and show her my art. I'm not sure she even apologized, but she says, "Okay, thank you for showing me, we get a lot of it here" adding that they have lots of cameras and security watching. I am able to maintain myself until I got to my car, but growing up in a family with narcissistic parents I have a deep childhood fear of getting in trouble and this absolutely triggered that; I just broke down in tears in my car. I don't even think the manager believed me even though she could see completely in my bag when I opened it and there was only a wallet and phone. Her ego probably flared up because she was wrong so she couldn't even apologize for accusing me of being a criminal. Having to grow up honing my hyper vigilance skills in observing other people in an effort to keep myself safe, if I seemed to be acting unusual it was probably bc I was trying to figure out what the heck was going on (being followed, watched and accused). I will not be returning to this Hobby Lobby. Other comments indicate this issue is not being handled well at this location. If this is so big of a problem, money being lost in stolen items, extra money being spent on a beefed up security team, with employees and managers handling it so poorly, maybe this location should just be closed. Be aware that if you do ANYTHING that seems "unusual" you might be followed around and accused of shoplifting at this store. read more

He helped me choose the matting and frames and is calling to find a special size of glass/plexiglass that one of the items needs. Writing this review while waiting in line. Every time I come in now. I wait forever in the one lane that is open. I don't get how there's so many people working and so many registers yet they're reluctant to call up anyone to help. When they do open they call people from the back of the line. This location is a decent size and has the normal offerings of this type of store. There are a ton of pre-made decorations for every season and they do a great job of providing plenty of options for just about any taste. The craft area is well organized and clean, but I find that they can be higher priced than other store options. They do have a good app that offer coupons and other discounts, so that's a decent offset, if you are looking to purchase a single item for a cheaper cost. Several areas throughout this particular location were overstocked with items, while other shelves were missing items altogether. Not sure if they were in the middle of redoing things in various areas. Overall: Parking isn't bad. The location is close to other shops on Bell. Options for decor are great. read more

Be careful. If you find a small stand alone rack or end cap with a 50% off sign on it read it very carefully. Not everything on that little end cap or rack is on sale. Happened to me and my wife today. I told the cashier that the item needed to be moved to another rack. Most stores would say yes it's confusing I'll give it to you not Hobby Lobby she was ready to argue to support her point. I live not far away but go there so infrequently I didn't know they eliminated the 50% off coupon each week in February. Michaels at the other end of the strip center gives more discounts anyway, including veterans discounts. I used to wonder why some item types, like man cave metal signs and crosses are on sale every day. They even say on the signs crosses always xx% off every day. If their items are barely competitively prices with a 50% discount then obviously their prices are way too high. I'll continue to give my money to Michaels instead. Plus if you're limited to days you can shop Michaels is open 7 days. Hobby Lobby may be a Christian business on the surface but not their pricing. read more

Love hobby lobby! Great place for rustic decor for house and great place to shop for wedding decor. I have never paid full price for anything here. Everything is almost always 50% off and they always have good coupons right on their website. They have prettiest fake flowers here. I was debating on real or fake for my wedding and found the prettiest fake sunflowers here that look real and will be perfect for my wedding! They also have the option to special order flowers so if you see some where they are broken or not enough they can order some and honor the sale price. They get shipments every Tuesday so they come in quick! They are closed on Sunday and most holidays though so make sure you get your shopping done ahead of time! They also have a big and good selection of clearance items. Great place to look right after the holidays and everything is on sale for cheap. read more

I stopped by this store last Friday late afternoon to purchase their branded stamps / sets that only they release that represent planner gals i.e. Oh Elle by Stampabilities. I was just at their competitive neighbor Michaels to attend a meet & greet with mixed-media Aussie artist Jane Davenport beforehand and thought I'd hop on over to HL to complete my collection before heading for home. When I showed Brandon the cashier my 3rd party coupons (Michaels, Joann), the way he said that HL didn't accept them was brusque, so I had him call the manager over. An older plus-size woman who ID'd herself as the manager (didn't get her name but you know the exact date/time span that just mentioned was there) hobbled over after a 5+-minute wait. I reiterated about the coupons and how he reacted. She walked over to him to handle him but did not apologize first. However, Brandon did honor a 40% off coupon as per my request that he scanned from the register (something he could've done on his own just to be polite and satisfy a customer who had the wrong coupons). The other items were already on sale (goody) so I didn't have to deal furthermore. They must not like their jobs and thus it showed. Please seek another employment away from the public elsewhere then (eye roll). Problem solved! The store didn't have a "hobby" vibe but more of a home decor and a small crafts section and a lot of fabrics. The atmosphere as I was browsing felt boring, like I was a little girl following my mother around in her favorite store. I got decent service when I shopped on HL online when there was a special, but that's about it. Next time, HL, please consider accepting 3rd party competitive coupons and maybe you'll get more customers. Sorry! read more

Sat April 22,2023) (I am posting again because apparently the managers of this store do not want you to see the truth of what happened in their store in front of many people!!) Today was not a great experience there. The way this situation with a homeless man was handled was not ok. Who ever the person was in the Suns jersey and how he jumped in front of this homeless man that was leaving the store and got in his face and was confronting the homeless man was unacceptable. You put so many lives in potential danger with the way you approached that homeless person. I am not sticking up for the homeless, I am not saying whatever he did was right but at that point when standing there trying to check out with my child , you put our lives in danger's way. You don't know if that homeless man could have had a weapon! You and the manager of the store should have called the police and let the homeless man leave and let the police handle whatever he may have stolen or done. My child left in tears because she was frightened by the way this was handled. She was so scared and upset. Not ok. Not ok at all! You don't put others in dangers way trying to stop someone like that. All over what was probably some petty bull shit that could have been just let go and let police handle the situation and not put people's lives in jeopardy. :( read more

When I first went I thought it was a hobby place where I could buy a model airplane for my dad . I was very disappointed to say. Hobby lobby seem more of home decor and Picture frames. Also has a few craft things but the downside is a couple of things. they have an issue with restocking and this are misplaced. There closed on Sunday,Also if you sign up they spam your email with there ad nonstop. Perfect place if your looking for movie posters or Star Wars decor. I don't like that everything smells like formaldehyde though, So I avoid buying the wooden wall decor. I usually need to air out any decor I buy from here before bringing it into my home. I love shopping in Hobby Lobby stores and have always had great experiences there. This is the first time that I shopped online and it will be my last. I ordered fabric a month ago. My order status showed it "In process". When it did not arrive after such a long period I emailed twice with no response. I called and waited online for a long time and finally left a message - but received no response to any of these inquiries. Finally today I called again and stayed on hold for 20 minutes. FINALLY I was able to talk to a live person who told me that my order had been cancelled. I was never notified of the cancellation so am very, very frustrated and very unimpressed with their online customer service. read more
