Personally I shop at hobby lobby specifically for gallery glass paints and crotchet yarn, they have a wide variety of colors and textures. There's plenty of items for any type of hobby, also kids toys. PLUS This is a great place to shop for kids gifts! maybe like ages 2-12, a lot of trendy cool stuff you won't find anywhere else. Store associates are knowledgeable of what they have in stock and where it's located in store. My man and I came here unknowingly after closing (7:58 to be exact), thinking they closed at 9. Upon entering, mind you while others were entering and still shopping within the store, we were very rudely greeted by a tall woman wearing a red shirt with a long blonde ponytail and bangs. Hubby and I were very off put by the demeanor of the employee, and the weird atmosphere. Definitely will not be back. Spent a day out shopping with my sisters and the older sis wanted to go to Hobby Lobby to look for some nice frames. First time here and the moment I walked in I fell in love! It's like Michaels on crack! LoL The store was huge and filled with lots of things like tons of home decor, candles, mirrors, baskets, fabrics and so many more things! I wanted to seriously buy the whole store!!! I'm not much of a crafty person, but being in Hobby Lobby made me want to start a seriously crazy DIY project or to redecorate my whole entire home. Ha! That would be fun, if I had a ton of money to buy everything I wanted there...aiyaiyai. I didn't entirely walked though the whole store, but I loved everything that I saw. The best thing about today's visit was that most home decors were 50% off! Yay! The store was really clean, organized and displayed really nice. I was mostly just browsing around not looking for anything in particular, but ended up buying a nice simple frame that would go great in my livingroom for a deal of $17(originally $34). I also bought a cute wall decor for my bathroom for $9. My sister on the other hand, bought a lot of very nice frames and lots of Christmas things that were on sale. There's no Hobby Lobby close to where I live, but if I had to choose to make a trip to Michaels or Hobby Lobby...I would definitely choose Hobby Lobby because they have a much bigger selection of things to choose from. The layout of the store is changing, i.e., adding pillows, blankets, kitchen gadgets towards the front entrance. Love, love, love Hobby Lobby. This store was set up basically like the one in Fresno, so it was easy to find my way around. Stopped in on my lunch hour for a couple items and got out pretty quickly. I love Hobby Lobby but the Merced store has terrible customer service! I've been to this store a few times and the first time I went I was accused of trying to steal a $6.99 box after spending over $100.00 in the store already. I got back in line to buy the box and someone on another register stopped helping someone else to confront about the box. But the lovely lady that actually helped me stepped in and informed her I had bought the box. I stopped going to the Merced store due to that incident. But I decided to go back today. I was second in line with one person behind me. I was told that her register was closed and for me to get into another line which myself and the person behind me did. But the lady on the register decided to help the guy behind me even though she just told be she wasn't helping anybody else. When I spoke up all she kept saying is she was closed and walked away. I felt so uncomfortable and disrespected! I felt like I was being profiled due to my skin color ( since the guy was also her skin color)! The lady that actually helped me was super nice and apologized for the other ladies, rudeness and unfairness and she's the only reason why I am giving this store three stars. Aside from maybe missing the use of a stool or a chair to sit while I wait (which is TOTALLY not a problem, just a preference), I couldn't be more happy with my visit today. I needed a poster framed up for when I move, so I can put it in storage without worrying about the poster getting damaged, torn or ripped, Jeff and his supervisor (I'm sorry I forgot his name :( ), gave me the best advice on how to fix it up and get it taken care of to look the best it could look with what they could do, and I couldn't be more thankful. These two gentlemen were very accommodating, efficient and professional more than I could ask for. The next time I need something done, those gentlemen are #1 on my list. Thanks guys!! read more

I love this Hobby Lobby and Hobby Lobby in general. So relaxing to just take a stroll here, listen to the calm music and shop the beautiful things. Sad that this company is harassed by what can only be described as people with severe personality disorder and forced to shut down during the scamdemic when Joann's across the street is open. Who doesn't like Hobby Lobby? There is so much to choose from it can be overwhelming in a good way. Their prices are reasonable and I was able to buy acrylic paints for under a dollar. I really liked their selection of jewelry beads also and there's a lot of sales going on. It's a great place to browse around also look around. read more

I am not a big fan of hobby Lobby. I hate that they don't do price match, don't take other coupons only then the 40% they always have. They don't save us any money at all. I Hobby Lobby! One pet peeve is that the lines are always long but there are always several workers milling around up front but only one register open. I was the 8th customer in line today, same as my last visit and they only call another cashier when I ask them to. Why do I need to ask? There should be a policy that once there are a certain number of people in line - my preference 4, or at the most 5, the cashier or ONE OF THE MANY OTHER PEOPLE MILLING AROUND UP THERE, THAT CAN OBVIOUSLY SEE THE LINE GROWING, to CALL FOR ANOTHER CASHIER. The guy at hobby lobby is rude and I believe he was a manager!!! Website says they open at nine I've been waiting there for 20 minutes he sees me standing there for 20 minutes opens the door says we are only taking senior citizens or at risk people.... Ok why did you not tell me that before I waited 20 minutes... He then shows me a sign stating seniors or people at risk come in at nine everyone else at 10 I asked what's considered ar risk I'm 6 months pregnant..... Seniors you're not a senior lady.... I asked what's considered at risk??? Seniors I said your paper says seniors or at risk so what's considered at risk... Another paper stated one person per cart he let 2 couples go in to one cart hummmm not following rules... He was wearing a gray shirt I'm assuming he's a manager not very good manners for being a manager I refuse to go back to hobby lobby... My boyfriend and I just left HL-Merced because we were followed around by some young, ugly blonde girl (I'm assuming LP) from the minute we walked in the door and she made us feel incredibly uncomfortable. The girl at the register was very nice and greeted us when we walked in and when we walked out the doors and the manager was very helpful and friendly! We are now on our way to HL - Los Banos where I know we won't be judged and stalked by LP who obviously need more training because they're so obvious (and I know about LP from working at stores that have Loss Prevention!!) This store is pretty big, compared to Michael's. If you were too look for a certain item for a project, you'll have a ton of choices to choose from, unlike Michael's, where they may just have that one item, and no other. I browsed the place to see what they have, and I realized I could spend most of my time in certain areas, if I were in my artsy mood. It was pretty packed that we had to wait in line for a good 5-10 minutes. Overall, if I'm ever in Merced, I'd definitely stop by to buy some things, or even look around. read more

I had the best customer service ever at this hobby lobby. LouAnna was the sweetest ad could really tell how bad I wanted a particular fabric and went above and beyond to help me get it. She even called the Hobby Lobby at another location and placed the remaining fabric that I needed on hold so I could go and pick it up. And when I went to go pick it up and told her how they didn't help me she even called back and made it very clear that I needed that fabric! By far best customer service! Well let me begin by saying that even thou the people are nice and helpful this review is for the manger and company. I come to shop and take my time to get what I need then after all is rung up I come to my firm or payment and I want to pay with my checkbook after I fill out my check manger comes and tells me he has to call my bank to verify funds. At the time I was there it was to late for him to call so I told him where does it say you need to do that? There is no announcement or a sign indicating that they have to call your bank to verify funds. What do I do now? Upset after the long wait and all the checking prices all for NOTHING. What do they say ITS STORE POLICE. Many people still pay with checks I believe it's something they should have displayed for people to see and not got through all that. So UPSET to have to come back and do everything again. I'm disappointed in the management of this store. :( read more
