I have not been a frequent customer of this brand. I can find the same items for less elsewhere. Looking for certain Christmas items brought me to their newest Bradenton store, then the store on Cortez Rd. Not finding the advertised item at the new store I called the Cortez store. They had the items and agreed to hold them for the next day. Upon arriving to the store, I asked for the items that were held. The manager said there was nothing held. Thankfully, I was able to find the items in stock on a higher shelf. An associate retrieved them. I get to the register and the cashier went to ring them up. One of the boxes had a price of $2.99 on it, but the other had a price of $24.99 on it. After checking with the manager, she would not honor the $2.99 price, which was a manufacturer unaltered sticker clearly reading $2.99. I asked what if I had only bought the one marked with $2.99 and was told they would have caught it. Wow! So the price marked on the package is not always what you will pay. Their POS system is so far behind that they don't even read bar codes and there is no Tap on their card readers. You would think with what they charge for their merchandise that they would update their POS systems. No wonder their inventory numbers are so far off. It deserves 5 stars. Everyone very friendly, including the manager yesterday. Wish I'd asked her name. But I mostly I want to compliment Denise in framing. Oh my goodness, she is the epitome of great customer service. She wasn't just helpful, she was engaging, efficient, patient and most of all she flashed a big SMILE. I LOVE an employee who SMILES! She helped me choose a mat and off the rack frame for a diamond art my daughter did. I just wasn't being objective about the color. She cut the mat and finished the job in record time. But the wonderful part was still her SMILE and her pleasant demeanor, wishing me a good rest of day. These gestures are so appreciated. She's great and you are lucky to have her as your employee. I have heard people raving about this place for a while now and had to check it out for myself. It's like a Michaels and Homegoods had a baby named Hobby Lobby. It has all the craft supplies and party goodies that Michaels carries with all the home decor, furnishing and furniture that Homegoods carries. Now, if you are into modern or contemporary home decor, this is not the spot for you. Almost every piece is geared towards the 'farmhouse chic' look with some rustic and western themes thrown in. Also, lots and lots of religious pieces. So, this place may not be for everyone. They do have an abundance of large and small letters, so you are bound to find something to fit your style. There are lots of decor on sale, but plenty that is not, so you can use the 40% off coupon that seems to always be available! read more

Came here a week ago with my best friend Dasher my dog and another friend whom I loved very dearly at one time. The store is pretty packed with stuff. The friend, Dasher and I were with, was picking out Fall dining set options for her upcoming Halloween Festivities. She played a little joke on me while we were there...she told me to go ask someone who worked there if they had anything with the word gather on it. Lol of course I went up to the counter and asked.. not knowing everything had the word gather on it. Good one Store was very friendly. The company was even better that day. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. That would be our the last time together. You see it's great when you take your girlfriend to a place like Hobby Lobby and watch her do her thing. But...when she's not your girlfriend and she then tells you later that day about a Fakebook Hookup, after you just spent the the whole day with her...that's BS, and that hurts. How can you expect a guy who admittedly was in love with you at one time, but now trying to be friends with you, to be cool with that? Needed 8 x 10 photo frames. Store clerk showed us frames marked $3.99 and said that they were 50% off. We purchased 4 and when I got home one of 8x10's was marked 11x17 @ $6.99. We checked the slip and all four were discounted 50% from $6.99. So instead of $8.00 frames they charged us $13.96. When I brought this to the assistant managers attention she took the slips and receipt and I waited about 5 min. I hope Hobby Lobby rewards excellence in customer service, because that is exactly what I received from Vivi on 05/08/24 in the evening. I was looking for a specific item, but was not describing it well. The young lady whom I had first gone to, wasn't clear on what I needed and then walked up Vivi. After describing it to Vivi, although she too could not understand what I was describing, she so kindly said, "but let me go with you and help you find it." And that she did until we did find it. She was so welcoming, gracious and patient all of the traits one hopes for when in need of customer service, but rarely gets these days. I hope Hobby Lobby enforces this kind of behavior by showing their gratitude when recognized by a customer. Her type of customer service is so needed in the customer service industry. Great location...I am not from here but I enjoyed it. I am sort of shocked that the Christmas decor comes in WEEKS before the Halloween decor???? Soooo confusing. My boyfriend was racially profiled. My boyfriend and I had bought two sets of Christmas stockings from a different store location the night before... Today we found a set we thought matched the second set better. While in line my boyfriend ran to the car to grab the set we were going to return... when he got back in line I told him he had grabbed the wrong set and that that set is the one we're keeping. He went back outside to grab the correct pair from the car and a manager ran after him yelling at him accusing him of stealing... understandable as to how it could appear that way. But when my boyfriend tried to explain himself, the manager started telling him he'll call the police and told him "people like you oughta be scared of the police" and that they have security cameras and told my boyfriend to hand over the merchandise, told my boyfriend "I know how to deal with you people"..... Merchandise that we had a receipt for. Disgusting how awful that manager handled the situation... He wouldn't even let my boyfriend speak to explain the situation. I had to go outside and find them and pull the receipt out of my boyfriends pocket. That manager should be embarrassed. read more

I absolutely love this place! I hadn't been to any other Hobby Lobbys before and I am just so happy that I found so many masquerade masks!!! It was exactly what I was looking for. Plus they are currently having an 80% off sale for the Spring and Summer items. I was looking for a PINK beach towel and a PINK flotation device...score! :-) And they have a little handout for almost every aisle to give you ideas on how to use the items. Grand Opening for Bradenton, Fl store. Bright, clean store! People were friendly. Nice sales & coupon. One major drawback was the parking was kind if limited. As the parking is shared with other stores & restaraunts in a a small stripmall parkinglot. Hobby Lobby kind of reminds me of Michaels, with one major exception: I think Hobby Lobby has more home decorative items, and Michaels has more craft type items. I prefer Michaels, as I am a scrapbooker, and they have a much better selection of items for me. guess I will occasionally shop Hobby Lobby though. read more

Just purchased a 2nd home in Bradenton, FL & had been looking forward to going to Hobby Lobby since my husband and I got here to furnish and decorate the condo. One thing after another delayed me. Finally I made it there & left so disappointed. Probably half of my décor is from Hobby Lobby in my home in Illinois. And the store there usually has at least half, usually more, of the items in the store on sale at 50% off. At this location there wasn't a single thing that I bought that was discounted. Very little of the store is on sale. That was my 1st disappointment. When I went to check out & got in line, they were very busy with only 2 cashiers open. Turns out the lady in front of me had some complicated transaction that took, no exaggeration, about 20 minutes. The manager opened 2 more lanes with other cashiers over the course of my 20 minute wait. Not once did she come to myself or the people behind me and take us 1st in those newly opened lanes. One of my pet peeves as I consider my time valuable. Lastly, one of the items that I purchased was on a rack with a big 50% off sign on it. Leading you to believe that it's on sale. Especially since so little of the inventory at this particular location is. Turns out, it wasn't on sale. It's just placed on a rack with numerous items that are & several of which aren't. Very deceiving. Overall, an absolutely horrible experience. Wont be going back. Luckily, there are a lot of other places to find beachy décor around Bradenton, FL. read more

Customer service should be #1 but our experience here this morning was a little of good and bad. I made an honest mistake. Thought greenery bushes were on sale but they weren't . When we went to check out, discovered that and asked the check out person to cancel. She wasn't happy and tried to make me feel guilty by here sullen attitude. WORST STORE EVER !!! This store is stocked with everything anyone into crafts or diy projects could want. If only they could find them !!! The size of the store is close to an acre of floor space with merchandise packed on shelves 6ft high or more. The aisles are so narrow that two people can barely pass carts. There are no overhead signs to indicate departments and the aisles are not numbered. So how am I to find anything I want ? Oh, I know, I'll ask a store associate...I search and search and finally find one. I politely ask where I can find an item and they stand there and tell me..."three aisles down on the left" I say "I've already been there and didn't see it"... "Well, it's halfway on the left side". They never once moved to take me to the item ! This happened TWICE ! After finally finding the first two items I wanted I went in search of the third and most important thing I came for. But, it wasn't there ! I had looked on line and was pleased to see that the special pins I wanted were in stock. As these pins are necessary for my project I drove 25 miles to get them. Once again I asked an associate for help and once again they just stood there with a puzzled look and said "I don't know" So I left with my two very hard to find items and NO PINS ! I write this review without anger (well maybe a little). My purpose in taking the time to write this is in the hope that Hobby Lobby Management will make some much needed adjustments. First ...put up some department signs and number the aisles !!! and Second...train your associates in customer service.
