On 1/10/26, I visited Hobby Lobby at 10000 Coors Bypass NW, Albuquerque, NM and had a very disappointing customer service experience. I asked three different employees for help locating magnets and was repeatedly given vague directions across the store without anyone verifying the location or offering to assist further. Despite following the instructions, I was unable to find the item. One employee did not make eye contact and provided directions without looking at me, while another appeared irritated when I asked for help and again when I requested she show me the location. At checkout, I shared my experience with the cashier and was informed that one of the employees involved was the store manager, Patrick, which was especially disappointing. This experience has left me no longer a fan of Hobby Lobby. Customer service matters. Please do better. read more

We went to Hobby lobby tonight to pick up a few last minute items. Of course we weren't the only ones! However, every employee we encountered was helpful and polite! Especially this young lady that was helping us find a tree topper when she/we rudely interrupted by some lady looking for "the toilet" her words. There was no "excuse me, for interrupting, she just made her demands and left. You often wonder what kind of people do reviews sometimes, which is why I don't really trust them. I really recommend this store because I've been coming here for 4 years and always great service but especially tonight! All the young people working were really patient and helpful!! read more

Well, despite COVID, Hobby Lobby continues to have the same shopping allure as always. I was surprised, however, to find that this brand new location is very, very tight in certain parts of the store - including the front checkout area and front door. Also, my dad came in to get four paintings framed. Three are large substantial paintings and one is tiny. They are the same frames for all three without glass. The three large paintings are each about 6 times the size of the small one yet the cost of framing was only about $10.00 difference. The employee told us that when it came to framing, size really didn't matter. It was very bizarre. read more

Hobby Lobby is fine. Really the only reason I come here is for framing things. Covid made it so they were delayed by a few days from their estimate, but in my experience, they've never gotten the framed items back on their estimated date. Their are lots of options for framing. They have a cool new thing that had a mock up on the computer of what your item will look like. Thai is very helpful for me too picture how big I want the mat to be around what I'm framing. The rest of the store is so crowded with stuff, that I try not to pay attention to it, and I walk through all the aisles quickly. read more

Great selection of merchandise, great sales, BUT really lousy customer service. The employees need to be aware that the customer is the reason for the store to be there, for them to have jobs. When I was checking out, the cashier was busy talking to another employee about some store issues. No greeting. No "did you find everything you needed?" No talking to me at all until I paid for my merchandise and then the only conversation was "do you want your receipt in the bag?" It's not that customers come in to chat, BUT when we're treated more as an interruption than as a reason for them to be there in the first place, it's rude, disrespectful and makes it very clear that excellent (or even reasonably polite) customer service is not a priority for Hobby Lobby. read more

I have shopped here many times, it is a great place for parents when kids have some project due that needs to compete with other parents living vicariously through their kids. That said..... On several occasions, I have been disappointed by their so called "sales" for instance, 1/2 off candles, and in tiny asterisked text, "not in multipacks" or 1/2 off art sets (only on items over 9.99) in some instances the signs on the floor do not have the notes, only the flyer does. This is really aggravating. My child chose a gift for his mom based on the sale, only to find out it was not on sale. I paid the difference, but it was clearly a strategy of bait and switch. I argued, even talked to a manager, held the line up, literally had another lady get upset behind me after realizing she had the same issue, and still, the same result. The problem is, Michaels and Hobby Lobby do not contain the same items. So, you kinda have to go to Hobby Lobby. read more

Sometimes you can tell a lot about a business, and the people who shop there, based on the parking lot. Walmart owns the crown for this: shopping carts ditched in empty spaces, trash strewn along the sidewalks, smoke butts in the planters, and an astonishing array of pajamas, any time of day. This Hobby Lobby, by contrast, offers a parking lot loaded with righteous bumper stickers. Apparently, the Omnipotent One drives an SUV, he's a much more judgmental dude than scripture generally alludes to and he spends his weekends crafting. Who knew? The first thing I noted was that you'll spend a pretty penny on fake flowers, if that's your agenda. It's kind of extraordinary what a bouquet of plastic plants will run you. The place is massive, and it has that emporium feel of Walmart, actually: florescent lighting, aisles upon aisles stretching to oblivion, but very clean. Finding a jar of Modge Podge was a hike, and finding someone who could direct me wasn't easy, either. I'll also confirm a commonly reported Yelper issue with the front registers, which were understaffed big time for a Saturday. While I stood around awaiting my turn, I overheard a salesperson telling a customer that they received some kind of discount for being a member of a local church, which I found, um, interesting. And then when I attempted to return the next day, at about 11am, I found out the place was closed on Sundays which A) only added to the religious fervor surrounding the experience and B) made me wonder how they could possibly understaff the place on Saturday. read more

Ugh First thing about this store which was a little off were the 1 million fluorescent lightbulbs on the ceiling blinding me when I walked in,.. Ugh.no covers just pure bright light. I'm not sure if the other hobby lobby does this but I found it really nice that up front they had sign ups for art classes for kids and adults. I'm mad I missed the november acrylic class that was 20$ and came with all supplies and you got to keep the painting/canvas. They had oil painting and sewing too.. I shopped at Hobby Lobby years ago until I stopped by on a Sunday and found a sign on the door that said it was closed to allow employees "time to worship." Many people's sabbath falls on Saturday, not Sunday, so I was shocked at the company's lack of inclusion and disrespect for other faiths. I hoped Hobby Lobby might change its tune, but I learned recently that they're taking money they could be using to improve their inventory and service and/or better compensate or provide benefits for their employees to file a lawsuit against the government. Their complaint? That the Affordable Care Act requires they provide coverage for birth control to their employees, which Hobby Lobby feels infringes on its "religious freedom." I think it's a terrible mistake for an employer to step into what should be a matter between an individual and her physician, and that inserting religion and politics into a retail business ensures lost profits, and worse, offense to those in the community who have different beliefs. Contraception empowers people to make choices about their lives and the lives of their families, and importantly, it provides women with educational, career, and economic opportunities that they'd otherwise not have. So my loyalty remains with local retailers and with Michael's, a company savvy enough to know that the place for a religious stand is in one's place of worship and that the place for a political stand is in the voting booth and communication with elected officials. Michael's cares enough about the women it employs, too, to trust them with their own healthcare and life choices, and enough about the communities in which they do business not to brazenly assert feelings of superiority about their faith. Until Hobby Lobby learns how to open its doors to everyone, I won't be walking through them. Also, Michael's just plain has better stuff. I hope to see you there--maybe even on a Sunday. read more

Unfortunately I saw an awful display of discrimination this morning. A guy came in looking for decorations for his daughters birthday party and immediately was followed, harrassed, and cursed out by the "manager". I saw the entire thing unfold (mostly because he asked me where the decorations were). It was a disgusting interaction and she treated him with zero dignity or respect. I get followed a bit when I go in here, and that's a tiny bit annoying. I'm from the East Coast (S.E. Virginia to be specific) and we don't have Hobby Lobby where I'm from. So I got super excited to find out Hobby Lobby and their "I Love This Yarn" were near my new home. This store is overwhelming with the various amounts of home decor and arts/crafts supplies, but still manages to fall short when it comes to niche' supplies. I do a lot of DIY jewelry, as well as knit/crochet. My big things are buttons, sock yarn, leather, and natural stone beads. I am a huge fan of Hobby Lobby. It is a crafters paradise! I love the set up of the stores where things are generally easy to find according to your project needs. I could spend hours looking around at the endless possibilities. This particular location could use a bit of housekeeping and a cosmetic facelift. I hit up Hobby Lobby A LOT, and it feels like the store doesn't reflect the advertised sales. Meaning, when the weekly flyer states "Hey! Our storage boxes are 50% this week!", the signs in the store should match that...they don't. I don't know who is in charge of their signage department, but they gotta work on that. And, more people need to be working at the registers. If there's four people in front of you line, it's about a 10-15 minute wait till it's your turn. Very annoying! Two stars.. *Update 5/6/13* At this point, I'm writing off this location as a lost cause. I tried and tried to see the good in it, but, it's like it was their personal mission to make me turn into an angry customer. The fact that I had to ask several times over the course of 20 minutes to get some help with the spray paint case was very annoying and frustrating. Then, when it came to check out..that's when I finally had my breaking point. When the time came to pay with my debit card, the payment tablet wasn't reading the electronic strip, so I handed it to the cashier for her to run through. She automatically said " I can't key it in. The terminals don't allow it". That's a load of bull because they've done it several times throughout my many visits there. In fact, I tried to use the plastic bag method and it still wouldn't work. The cashier got all sorts of put out and ended up calling up another cashier for help...cool beans, that works. NOPE! Even that lady didnt know how to type in the debit info. After 10 minutes of them both giving heavy, put out sighs and clearly acting annoyed / bothered..they pull out an old impression machine to make a carbon copy of my card. Under any other circumstance, that wouldn't bother me...what bothered me was being treated like I was a pain in their ass, the cashiers flicking the carbon copy at me to sign off on, then snatching it off the counter with a snotty attitude. As I picked up my bagged stuff, I said "Have a nice day"...the returned response? "Yah, whatever"....Annnnnd I'm done. Word to the wise, if you don't like working in the customer service / retail world, DON'T work at a place like Hobby Lobby and get a pissed off and sully attitude when you actually have to give customer service! read more

This Hobby Lobby is a really good size, so it offers a large selection. It seems to be in a good location. Clean and organized well. I just wish they would staff more cashiers (especially on Saturday's mid-morning to noon) as the lines went into the aisles. read more

Went in to hobby lobby and the store it self had a great selection and clean atmosphere.That is why I rate this location 2 stars. On the other hand.The staff was completely lacking any enthusiasm or drive. I asked where the pipe cleaners,paint and some gold leaf would be located.I was directed to the right location for the pipe cleaners and paint.I was asked by the staff "what's gold leaf?". Taken aback that someone could work in a craft store and not know what gold leaf was I said "that's okay I'll try to find it".I had a great experience finding everything I needed great selection and organized store!!But when I went to checkout is where my whole experience with the staff went over the edge.Employee Angelic was the cashier. I brought my items to the counter and used a 40% off coupon I had on my phone to discount the gold leaf,when I said "I would like to use my coupon on this item holding up the gold leaf" I was told "yea" she didn't even bother to look my way.She seemed so upset to be at work the whole time,no smile or care that I was even in front of her or that I was a customer. I left my wallet in the car and said "oops left my wallet in the car" knowing I was only a few steps from my wallet it took me less than 1min to run which I did to my car and back.When I got back she asked me to go to the back of the line,I couldn't do that. Instead of being nice and courteous she made me out to be a mean customer she smirked at me and all the customers around me made me out to feel like I had done something wrong I was gone for under a minute and I no longer counted as a paying customer.I don't feel I can go into this location with a smile on my face.I hope that can change with a good experience.I can only hope for the best next time. read more

Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Older sales help will ignore you and then give you the worst attitude ever. Complained to mangement and nothing is done. Have had some excellent service from younger sales clerks, and alway try to avoid the older ones. Must think because they have been there a while they can do what they want. Sad, I won't go to Hobby Lobby unless the other craft stores don't carry what I need. I am not a youngster but a senior citizen and find their attitudes atrocious. read more

Saturday January 18th around noon. The lady in the fabrics department was so rude it gave us a horrible feeling leaving there. We asked her a simple question about iron on lettering. She told us in a very rude manner that they "didn't have that stuff". When my wife started asking about alternative options she cut her off and raised her voice and told us very loudly again "we don't have that stuff" it was shocking and eventually maddening. This turned a simple trip to the store to one of those things that just sticks with you. Horrible experience we couldn't ever go back there just out of principal. This person has major anger issues and she took it out on us. read more
