I began receiving missed calls from an unknown number in May 2016 but no messages were left. After a few weeks of this, I got a text from the emergency contact on my then current alarm company that the alarm company had been trying to contact me to upgrade my system. I called the number and was told that there was a new touchscreen panel that needed to be installed so I made an appointment. The appointment was for 6 pm but I had locked myself out of my house so i spoke to the technician and we agreed to change the appointment to 7 pm. He didn't show up until after 8 pm. After telling me about all of the benefits of the new panel he pulled out paperwork and started talking about a contract. It was only then that I realized he wasn't from my current alarm company. I then told him that i wasn't interested because I was happy with my current system. He continued to tell me all of the benefits of the new system and how he could give me a good deal. He agreed to pay off my current contract and set me up with a better system than I currently had. His technician came out that following Saturday. He was 2 1/2 hours late. He was at my home for 2 1/2 hours. He did not seem to speak English very well and stared at me blankly every time I tried to ask him a question. In the end, he said that he was not able to set up the system that day. He left with both my old system and the new system. Leaving me with no alarm. He came back the following Tuesday. Again, we were not able to communicate well, but he left with the system in place. The next day I received a call from ADT stating that there was an error with my system. I informed Rey and he sent the same technician out again the next day. This scenario happened 4 times until finally, a week later, I had a working alarm system. In the meantime, I cancelled my service with Monotronics. When I received the final bill on June 1, 2016 I promptly forwarded it to Rey, as directed. His words were "Don't worry about it. I'll take care of it". In the end I was charged by both ADT and Monotronics for the months of May, June and July. Rey did eventually refund me the money but it took 3 months for him to do so. On August 18th, my hallway motion sensor went off for no reason. On September 19th, while I was on vacation, I received notification that my alarm would not set due to a window being open. I knew the window was not open so tried to set it by bypassing the window as Rey had instructed me I could do. It still wouldn't set. I informed Rey via text of the problem. He said that he was on vacation himself but to send him a screenshot of the error and he would show it to his technician. I did as he asked and never heard back. I text Rey again once I was back from vacation and asked if I could please terminate my contract as I was extremely unhappy with how things had been handled from the beginning. He said I would have to pay 75% of my remaining balance. I reminded him that my alarm system was not working and I should not be responsible for paying. He said the best he could do was send out another technician. This time the technician was 1 hour late. He promised to make everything good. An hour after he left I received a call from ADT that my alarm system had been tampered with. I told them that a technician had just been there and that everything was ok. They said that if he didn't come back to do something the alarm system wouldn't work. It was already 10 pm. Due to my schedule, I was not able to have him come out for 3 days. The technician said he would talk to Rey about compensating me for the 9 days that I did not have a working alarm. The technician came out and the alarm appears to be working, for now, but I don't trust it or anyone at HM Security. The technician also stated that he spoke to Rey but that Rey refused to compensate me for my troubles. I also had to ask several times for a copy of my contract and only received it 2 weeks ago. read more

I had initially given them 5 stars but feel the need to come back and change it to one (I would give them zero if I could). The installation seemed to be going great but I was told 1-2 hours and the technician was there almost 8 hours!!! He left close to midnight! It was absolutely ridiculous. At the time of signing up I was promised all kinds of things and this great low price, then I got a call and was told they made a mistake and it was actually a few dollars more, then when they come to do the installation the pice had gone up a few more dollars and they couldn't possibly give me all the things I was promised. After going back and forth they agreed to install almost everything that I was originally promised and they claimed they would mail me a rebate check giving me back some of the money that I was now being overcharged. LIES! All LIES!! Rey never sent the check. He claims to want to make you a happy customer and encourages you to write a Yelp review and then never sees his promises through. We've called about our missing check and were told it was being processed and accounting was taking care of it. It's been months and we haven't received a thing. Rey just wants to make a sale and doesn't care if you end up being a happy customer or not. The worst part is deceiving people and changing the price on them. Don't fall for it! read more

This is something for you to think about?....This company installed an alarm in my business, a city requirement. Too make a long story short they installed a house alarm turns out there is a big difference. I contacted there office and because we didn't find out till our final inspection 30 days later this company now tells me I would have to pay technician fees etc. Whattt! You installed the wrong system, our contract states for business....they called me directly threatening to take me to collections because his boss was mad that they were being charged back from ADT corporate. All I wanted was a business alarm system.( this is a third party if you deal with ADT corporate they will not take your social security information.) hope this helps someone else to be more informed. Within 30 minutes I received a call from Mako. Mako patiently walked me through some diagnostic steps over the phone.
