1 star is giving Marcel/Modern Technology too much credit. My cameras were already mounted, some wiring was already run (it wasn't done correctly), but I still ended up paying close to full price. CONS: - Quoted me a time of 4-5 hours which was highly inaccurate - Showed up inebriated/high - Came late both times he showed up due to "car trouble" - Canceled last minute twice - Wasted a boat load of my time - Never finished the job (front door camera still isn't working even though he came back to fix it) - Won't answer phone calls/texts - Extra camera he sold me is absolute garbage compared to my own - Poor quality work (wires showing, used multiple extensions which diminish quality/integrity of connection) - Was suppose to swap out a camera in my patio, told me he's going to his car to get some tools, and just left without notice. DOES IT GET ANYMORE UNPROFESSIONAL?! PROS: ??? I'm going to try and take these guys to court to teach them a lesson, even if it costs me a few bucks. HORRIBLE. Here are the indisputable facts: (1) The installers arrived 3 hours late (I cannot believe I waited that long), (2) Marcel didn't even show up, but sent John and friends, who came completely unprepared (borrowed my ladder, borrowed my staple gun AND borrowed my headlamp) (3) The installers inadvertently pulled out high-voltage wires (possibly tripped on it?) causing an electrical short which required another team of high-voltage electricians to come out and repair. Simply put, Marcel sent over a team that required me to call another team to come out. A supposed two-hour job turned into a two-day nightmare. Avoid the headaches by paying a little extra and calling a certified electrician from the start. There is a reason why California licenses some electricians and not others. read more

First red flag about this business is that Marcel seems to screen your calls, not sure who he's trying to avoid. I called twice and he didn't pick up but when I emailed him, he responded right away. Anyhow, he seemed like a nice guy when I finally got him on the phone and so we schedule for 10am on a Sunday. He asked for me to remind him the night before, another red flag as it sounds like an organizational problem. Come Saturday night, I send him a text to confirm and he says he wants to change it to 9am. I change my Sunday schedule around but not a big deal, done! Come Sunday morning, its 9:23 and I don't hear from him so I text him. He says he's having car troubles and won't arrive until 10:25. I call him to get an explanation and he doesn't pick up. I text him and he replies... the way this guy runs his business sounds unprofessional, unreliable, and immature. I'm not sure if he slept in and forgot about the appointment but he lost a customer. read more

Initially, they are good and fast. Never was I asked exactly where I wanted my tv over the fireplace. After trying to "adjust" the location of my tv, I didn't like how it sat too low over the fireplace. After several attempts to get them to come and raise it a few inches, I got no call no shows, then eventually they never responded back to my texts. Very disappointed, no I have to pay someone else to do the same job, only higher. So if you hire these people, make sure you make it clear where exactly you want your tv. read more
