Modern Technology - Security Systems Near Me

1 star is giving Marcel/Modern Technology too much credit. My cameras were already mounted, some wiring was already run (it wasn't done correctly), but I still ended up paying close to full price. CONS: - Quoted me a time of 4-5 hours which was highly inaccurate - Showed up inebriated/high - Came late both times he showed up due to "car trouble" - Canceled last minute twice - Wasted a boat load of my time - Never finished the job (front door camera still isn't working even though he came back to fix it) - Won't answer phone calls/texts - Extra camera he sold me is absolute garbage compared to my own - Poor quality work (wires showing, used multiple extensions which diminish quality/integrity of connection) - Was suppose to swap out a camera in my patio, told me he's going to his car to get some tools, and just left without notice. DOES IT GET ANYMORE UNPROFESSIONAL?! PROS: ??? I'm going to try and take these guys to court to teach them a lesson, even if it costs me a few bucks. Save yourself the time and money by not thinking twice about hiring Modern Technology, STAY AWAY STAY AWAY TRUST ME! read more

HORRIBLE. Here are the indisputable facts: (1) The installers arrived 3 hours late (I cannot believe I waited that long), (2) Marcel didn't even show up, but sent John and friends, who came completely unprepared (borrowed my ladder, borrowed my staple gun AND borrowed my headlamp) (3) The installers inadvertently pulled out high-voltage wires (possibly tripped on it?) causing an electrical short which required another team of high-voltage electricians to come out and repair. Simply put, Marcel sent over a team that required me to call another team to come out. A supposed two-hour job turned into a two-day nightmare. Avoid the headaches by paying a little extra and calling a certified electrician from the start. There is a reason why California licenses some electricians and not others. read more

I've been looking for a security camera installers for a while now until I came across modern technology. After reading some of the reviews I was interested enough to call them for an appointment. I actually called a day before to see if I can squeeze in for the next day and sure enough he was able to oblige. All I can say is that Marcel and the team are the best! They did an outstanding job installing security cameras at my parents house. Not only did they do it in an appropriate timely manner but Marcel was also able to troubleshoot a problem w the manufacturer and got the issue resolved!! After this job was done I'm confident enough to recommend Marcel and his team to do the job right. AAA++ service! read more

We had a small issue with cams and Marcel took care of it right away! Everything is working 100%

Modern technology was recommended by a trusted friend and after using their services, I can see why. Marcel was honest, punctual, and reasonably priced. Definitely satisfied with my tv mount installation and surround sound setup. Will be using him again in the future. read more

Great, Great Service!!! All I can say is nothing but great things about Marcel and his crew! Excellent service, communication and quality! I interviewed a couple other companies to do the job but I decided to go with Modern Technology because of their professionalism, price and turnaround. Marcel not only installed an 8 camera system in our home, he also mounted a TV on our wall. I'm super picky and was concerned about placement and detail, they finished the job and it was clean and more than I expected. I can now view my home remotely through my iPhone...love the product and the overal experience!!! I highly recommend Marcel.. Modern Technology! read more

My friend recommended Marcel to install the mount to my tv.. Within maybe 40 minutes.. the job was done and they drove down to my place in Tujunga. I think he said they drove to my place from Downey.. Tv looks great and the price they quoted included the tv mount. Kindve thinking I should've gone with the moveable mount.. should've thought that one through.. lol.. but whatever.. Thanks again! read more

His very nice professional instruction security system guy and his team too thy give me good time and very nice job low price too ohh wow nice job I want to telling them thank you read more

First red flag about this business is that Marcel seems to screen your calls, not sure who he's trying to avoid. I called twice and he didn't pick up but when I emailed him, he responded right away. Anyhow, he seemed like a nice guy when I finally got him on the phone and so we schedule for 10am on a Sunday. He asked for me to remind him the night before, another red flag as it sounds like an organizational problem. Come Saturday night, I send him a text to confirm and he says he wants to change it to 9am. I change my Sunday schedule around but not a big deal, done! Come Sunday morning, its 9:23 and I don't hear from him so I text him. He says he's having car troubles and won't arrive until 10:25. I call him to get an explanation and he doesn't pick up. I text him and he replies... the way this guy runs his business sounds unprofessional, unreliable, and immature. I'm not sure if he slept in and forgot about the appointment but he lost a customer. read more

Had a good experience with this company. Would highly recommend. I got two Tv's put up and an electric fireplace.

Great customer service. Great communication. Showed up on time. Trustworthy. I have 3 TVs mounted. I only had two of the three TV. Marcelo put up two of the three TVs I paid in full he promised to come back when I had the third TV which was about a month later and he sure enough showed up with the TV off and even adjusted the other one without any additional fees his price was better than others and his customer service was OnPoint definitely recommend read more

Marcel and his team did a fantastic job on our 13 camera system. Cables were ran neatly, cameras adjusted perfectly, and mounted the TV to the wall. They even came out and worked on a Sunday and finished the job all in one day. Great work and service. Marcel made sure we were satisfied! read more

Great job man does a great job love how he installed my security cameras for thumbs up for this man highly recommend it

Marcel takes pride of what he does. The mounting was perfect on both TVs as they were done to my satisfaction. In other words, his customer's input is highly valued, unlike others who professionally installs but would never ask if everything worked out the way you wanted. He wouldn't leave the job unfinished. Took the time to come back and reinstall one of the New TVs as the it came with a cracked screen the first time he was at my place. Amazing deal for both TVs! This is your go-to guy for home theater, security and TV mounting! You can't go wrong. Customer service was excellent. Highly recommend you reaching out and asking for a quote. read more

Modern Technology did a great job installing my tv mount bracket with a sound bar. Looks and works great! Professional and efficient. Marcelo and his associate were friendly and were attentive to my needs. Cost was comparable to others, but they did provide the best price. Would recommend to others. read more

I found Modern Technology on yelp when I was looking to install cameras at my home. Marcel and his team did a great job installing my 8 camera system. Marcel has great customer service and responded to my text messages and calls in a timely manner. I also had him install two televisions with full motion swivel mounts. All his products are of high quality . The picture on my 1080 cameras is amazing and the night vision is much better than any cameras you will purchase or find at Best Buy and similar stores. His prices are much more competitive than anyone you will find (trust me I contacted a dozen companies). He finished the job in the time promised. Look no further for your security camera purchase! Call them asap ! read more

Amazing customer service. Scheduling was quick and easy. Had them come out to my office and do a custom security install.

I had a television mounted on Monday 4-9-18. Modern Technology did a great job and good pricing, so I called them back Wednesday 4-11-18 to mount the other two televisions. Modern technology has great customer service and very friendly, hard workers, and very fast. Great, Great service!! I will recommend them to others without a doubt. They were very professional, excellent service. I give them AAA+ service!! When I need a television or camera's hung Modern Technology is who you should call your go to guys. I sure will be calling in the future if needed again. Thanks for the fabulous work, Modern Technology!! read more

Marcel was very professional and mounted my 70inch tv and sound bar perfectly. He was running slightly late for our appt but kept me informed and updated the entire time which was appreciated. Thanks for the great service. read more

Simply excellent service! I contacted Marcel through his website to have my very heavy, older-model flat screen mounted on an exterior stucco wall. He responded right away, answered all my questions and gave me a quote for the job. He and Phillip showed up early, knocked it out in less than an hour, no hassles, for the exact amount quoted (which, by the way, was $100 less then the next-cheapest quote). I'll definitely call them again anytime I need this sort of work done! read more

Initially, they are good and fast. Never was I asked exactly where I wanted my tv over the fireplace. After trying to "adjust" the location of my tv, I didn't like how it sat too low over the fireplace. After several attempts to get them to come and raise it a few inches, I got no call no shows, then eventually they never responded back to my texts. Very disappointed, no I have to pay someone else to do the same job, only higher. So if you hire these people, make sure you make it clear where exactly you want your tv. read more
