I am finding out that my representative lied to me he told me that they changed batteries on on sensors when the batteries go out and there will be no fee. I am finding out that if a technician has to come it's going to be $200 to come out to the house and if I get the warranty and pay $15 extra when I need a representative to come out or a tech that I will only have to pay $75 for the visit. My representative told me to call him if there is issues and I am finding out when I call him. The techs are OK, but their salesman, Doug Spencer, in Utah (West Valley) ghosted us for 6 weeks before we gave up and went with someone else. Their loyalty department in California gave me the runaround and lies every time I called and asked them to help me reach a different salesman or a manager to help us since we couldn't reach Doug. They said they kept trying but no one would respond. When I (by myself without their help) finally found a manager and a tech, they said no one had reached out to them. (And after telling Jack Kelly, the local Utah manager about Doug Spencer ghosting us, and about the lies and mistreatment by the loyalty department, he ghosted me too after telling me to reach out to the loyalty department and they could help me. Seriously?) The Loyalty Department offered me compensation for the 6 weeks of lies and headaches and not having a working system (they had put in some equipment, then stopped when they needed a part...I didn't see them again until I told them 6 weeks later to come get their stuff out of my house). Anyway, they deny ever offering compensation and won't even discuss it with me saying it was never offered and isn't going to happen. Every message I left for someone to call me was ignored, I had to retell my story every time I called, and the Rep named Camillo yelled at me because he refused to believe a different Rep (Stalin) offered me compensation (he was just too incompetent to put it in his notes, which was a common theme that their notes on my calls were completely inaccurate.) This company is the worst in service, installation, customer service, management and ownership! Above that, their products suck, they don't work right and if you call for a tech they don't know what to do to fix the camera or recorder. And technical support online is even worse. Where do I start: The salesman "Adrian" was a good talker but couldn't follow through with his WORD. Tells you to call him for anything but never calls you back when the things are all wrong. Promised to get everything that matches the current system and then I had to fight for the matching. The installer, the first of four or five installers absolutely sucked. Cut corners, made holes in the walls and didn't mention it first, left his trash and wires all over the place and didn't even dress up the work he did. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th installer all saw his work and took pictures to show their boss. Tech support, they couldn't get my front camera online for over a month. Still don't know what happen there. If it was a communication issue or just lacking to do things. Customer service after complaint and complaint about now months in to the contract and paying more than the other company and wishing I never left Vivint there cameras and techs were so much better. These cameras suck. They could not get me an installer to do the work correctly and or could not get the parts in that was promised. Yet they took my money every month. On time even. Customer loyalty department insulted me after asking to get me out of the contract and Brinks even recommending them to release me said that " I cannot speak to anyone other than them" when I asked to talk to a manager. And when I asked to get me out of this contract because they failed to deliver he said and I quote " not even God could get me out of this contract" which was a huge insult to me as I am a religious person! Not to mention that the salesman sold me the doorbell cam that isn't even viewable to the link because it's not comparable with their programs. This contract started around Jan 2025. It's now late June and my cameras still fall off and I have unplug then and plug them back in for them to reset or to get them back online. I cannot believe no one from management is even taking my calls or the owner. The contract is usually transferred over to Brinks after 3 months. Brinks sent me a letter and it said that they will not be accepting the contract and that I will have to remain with Skyline for the duration of my contract....I'm just so done with this company and wish I could get out of this contract. My next step is the BBB! I didn't even want to put one star but there is a minimum that yelp makes you put. This company is essentially just putting sales guys out in the field telling potential customers (as they walk in with FAKE ADT badges) they have newer systems and upgrades. They don't work for ADT, They don't work for Spectrum, they wanna install cellular systems even though you have a dedicated line. Started with Skyline Security/Brinks Aug 2022. The individual at that time never told me that I was locked into a 5 year contract. I didn't find that out until April 2025. Brinks Home Security, 5 year Contract Alert: Be aware- please be aware of what you are signing when it comes to sales rep for Skyline Security Management on behalf of BRINKS home security. We had two representative come by and they seem nice and wholesome, persistent level 1,000.... we signed a contract base on what they were offering. 1) The Rep, John Maura, he said we have 7 days to cancel and when we want to cancel just text him he'll handle it. **When I read contract it stated 3 days, the cancellation notice needed to be mailed into their office by midnight of the 3rd day- exactly. We reached out asked him John M, he said disregard but when I called Brinks they confirm it has always been 3 days. 2) according to the contract they reserve the right to increase price after a 12 month period, the rep John M., said disregard, you are a sponsor home. ** We called BRINKS they reserve the right to increased and that it's our responsibility to read the contracts. Beware! They set up a camera system in 2022. We told them that we turn the wifi off in our home at night for health benefits and better sleep especially since all the hardware was located in our master bedroom. They told us no problem they told us they would set up the system where we could still turn off the wifi router and it would use a piece of equipment called a Eufee home base that was somehow hardwired so when we turned off the wifi at night the cameras would still work. A big selling point of the security system was they told us that we could take it to our next home when we moved and easily set this same system up in the same way as described above. We just moved to a new home and we had someone install everything and they told us that whatever they told us is impossible and after we turned off our Wi-Fi router that there was likely a second hidden (or unknown to us) Wi-Fi router hooked up somewhere that the Eufee system was connecting to. I called Eufee directly and they confirmed that it isn't possible to hard wire the home base in anyway so basically they lied to us. However, I'll never know if they had some cool workaround that nobody but them knows about that would make this possible because I've called them multiple times and they told me that there are no notes about how my system was set up so they can't explain anything to me about how they had previously set up the system. The technician Eduardo who set it up refuses to return my calls to answer any questions or to explain how it is possible. I called Skyline again today and told Yesenia in customer service that I wanted to speak with the main manager/supervisor that oversees every department but she refused to connect me to one of the main corporate managers. I told her I was going to leave a bad review because this was a bad experience. It's never a good experience when you learn you've been lied to about how something was set up in your home. Honesty is always better. It's better to tell clients that what they want is impossible versus lying in order to close a sale. If miraculously, they have some unknown way to accomplish this and they want to set up our system so that it works when the Wi-Fi router is turned off then I will be more than happy to remove this post. read more

Skyline representative signed up my 85-year-old stepmom for a 5-year deal with Brinks security. Who does this knowing she will be 90 years old if she lives to see the end of the contract? She passed away, and now their representative does the hard sell that as her executor, I am responsible for the contract and have to pay an early termination fee. For anyone looking for an alarm company, I would advise that you go directly to the companies that you are interested in. I was roped into a 5-year contract, and I no longer live at that address (domestic dispute) and have nowhere to place the system. There are no clauses or exceptions. Their sales reps are aggressive and mean when you want to cancel with the three required days to have the system removed. I definitely called to cancel and was harassed not to by the original representative I want to confirm that every 1-star review on here is true. Dear Jeanette at Skyline, I am STILL waiting for my FULL credit back onto my credit card= from both BRINKS and SKYLINE. I emailed you today and have not heard anything. Background: Please reference my credit usage history with this credit card. I have had this credit card for many years and carry a high balance and pay full, on time, every month. I have Never had to file a dispute before. This is to show some of my credibility. I would like to start by saying that Skyline security systems is a "authorized dealer" of Brinks security systems. Skyline gets commission/money for any homes they are able to install security systems for. I am very concerned at how Skyline is practicing and misleading people. You can see for yourself that Skyline then also incentivizes their conmen to swindle unsuspecting victims with Rolex watches among other gifts. He had us digitally sign something very small with lots of words on this gentleman's small hand held device. He told us that it was to sign for the free equipment. WE had been fine with ADT whom we had been with for over 7 years. I saw my credit card bill this week and thought it was weird that ADT was still billing us when they were "taken over." SO I called Skyline and found out that they had conned us into switching to service with them. I explained how we did NOT sign up for $100 of service and were misled and did NOT want this equipment/ service for 3x the price. MOST important, even if Skyline was willing to match the price or buy out our $29.95 monthly NO obligation/ NO cancellation fee contract= HOW Skyline got us to sign up shows lack of integrity. I spoke with Marisol ( at Skyline 562-622-7114) Who was equally rude and unprofessional. And explained the situation and I told her the equipment has never been used and is still in the plastic and we wanted our money back for the charges so far and they could come please pick up the equipment. She said I had 3 days to cancel. I was not able to cancel because I was not able to pick up on the con until 3 weeks later when my credit card statement came. She basically said that I either continue with the Con of staying with their service or that we would have to pay for 34 months of service =over $2,200 to get " out of the contract." that we were tricked into. I told her it does not make sense that we would take time off work to have an install for service for only a few weeks to then turn around and ask for the reversal= the ONLY reason is because we were conned and what we were mislead into signing was NOT what we thought was going on. We do not want to do business to a company that basically says we will not give you a refund for conning you= if you want money back from the con then you have to pay us MORE money to get out of it. That is wrong. She says that's too bad if you don't pay.. "we will take you to collections." I have never been to collections and am happy to get lawyers involved. I gave her an opportunity to make things right by simply refunding us and taking your equipment back. It is not like we have had the equipment for 2 years and USED the service to then want a refund. I am a medical doctor and I have NEVER had to dispute a charge on a credit card company (for Brinks and Skyline's charges) before. This company is the first and I think the BBB should be aware of their misleading practices. Skyline/ Brinks is VERY misleading. Brinks confirmed that our equipment has never been used. SEARCH "SKYLINE SECURITY LAWSUIT" before considering doing business with this company. There are better options out there that do not operate in these predatory ways. My story will be below, but you can easily find news reports and lawsuits that reflect my experience if you search "skyline security lawsuit" I feel so embarrassed that I got played like I did with this company. After being a customer of ADT from 2016- 2022, a young man approached our door claiming to be there to upgrade our outdated security system and get us a lower rate. The way it was presented fooled me into thinking that he was with ADT. I agreed to have him come out another day to go over the deal and plans he had to offer. When he showed back up, he explained that "they" split up from ADT due to them doing some "sketchy things" and that there were on going legal cases with them. he explained he was with Brinks. Hearing this name before, I chalked it up to me just misunderstanding the initial interaction and agreed to hear him out. After he explained all the things we would be getting, I agreed to move forward with this "upgrade". I repeatedly asked if i was going to be able to cancel my service at anytime because I am not the type of person to sign up for long term contracts. He told me that it wouldn't be a problem and the if i were to terminate early, I just wouldn't be able to sign back up. he quickly scrolled through the contract info on his tablet and had me sign. This was my BIG mistake. I had already had red flags going off but failed to pay attention due to trusting this one person. Fast forward to today. We currently are selling our home this was installed in. I went to call Brinks to cancel the contract and they are now telling me that I had a 60 month contract and will owe them ~$1300 to cancel. This was never explained to me and I was completely lied to. After digging into my old documents, i learned that it wasn't even brinks I signed up through and that the guy I was talking to was with Skyline Security. To top it all off, they told us that they would cancel our ADT service for us but they never did and due to a miscommunication between my wife and I, we were double paying for over a year and half. Again, these were all things that I should have easily caught, had I not trusted the man that came to my door and took him for his word. READ YOUR CONTRACTS CAREFULLY. Even if they try to hide it like they did with me. I have filled a complaint with the BBB and will be also making this known on socials in the following days. Currently 8:05 PM and I have two persistent sales representatives, Josh and Layla, on my doorstep inquiring about an electrical bill/kWh usage. They claim this information is needed to determine a solar panel quote. It's incredibly inconsiderate and unprofessional to be attempting to "make a sale" this late into the evening. As if this situation didn't scream SCAM already - there is a third representative hanging out in an additional car that is blocking the driveway. NOTE: Let's see how long Layla sits in her car outside of our property. When asked if the company was affiliated with Edison, she replied with "no." This is not a typical Thursday night for me, Yelp fam. I couldn't believe how many poor Yelp reviews there is for this company. So I really hope my experience helps others out there AKA the elderly. They disconnected my AT&T system and broke some of my existing motion sensors. Called AT&T to reconnect my old system because (Brinks) Skyline wanted to charge me the same but give me less than AT&T. They didn't even want to install window sensors. What a joke! Steer clear of this company! Trust me! All their installers but one knew what they were doing. They will make promises they can't keep but instead of calling you to discuss it, they'll just let you complain to the installer who can't do anything to help. Don't rely on them for your solar needs! They're just going to sell you panels based on the price. Price isn't everything! Competence is important! No reason why you should install solar panels on your northern facing roof in California. I tried being patient but that can only last for so long. This company is a scam. They do not have the technical competence to run this business or the customer service knowledge to maintain any kind of relationship with their clients. We entered into a contract for them to monitor our home THINKING IT WAS BRINKS because their representative told us they were Brinks. Just longer than a month into this contract (note: there is a month's time to cancel!), our system malfunctioned. The company did not inform us for over 24 hours and we were out of town. Our home was left unprotected without our knowledge. After repeated calls to them, they sent someone a week later to try and fix the system, but he was unable to do so. Then when I asked their office why I was with a company called skyline they then went on to tell me I would need to be with their company for a minimum of 12 months and then would be switched to Brinks (who I thought I was signing with) but now almost 2 yrs in they will not switch me. I never usually take offers of solicitors at my door but I did and it's the biggest regret by far. Now I'm locked in with 3 more yrs with this company. Update on my review from 06-17-2023. We finally got reimbursed for the damages that one of their techs caused while "evaluating" our system: It took from mid-May to late August and while they ignored direct requests, we found a way encourage them to take responsibility for their actions: If you have problems with Skyline, document all your efforts and contact the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Even then, it will be a bit of an uphill battle. They may try to wait things out or claim they did not receive information. Upload copies of all documents to the BBB case. That will eliminate that excuse. Once you have a case number with the BBB, you can contact them via complaints@lasvbbb.org and update them on the status. I don't understand how these people are still in business. A customer service representative came to my home saying they were with a company that services both ADT and Brinks and that he needed to upgrade our equipment which would soon be incompatible with their new system. Then it turned out they wanted to sell me service with Brinks and that should have been my first red flag but I thought that Brinks had a good reputation and they were offering me better pricing so I made the switch.  I was also told that it was a month to month contract but when I called to cancel because they never finished installing the sensors despite my repeated request (but have been charging me every month) they said that it was a 5 year contract. I saved all of my paperwork and nowhere does it say that it is a 5 year contract.  They are refusing to cancel my service and Brinks is refusing to help. I am being told that I have to find someone to take over my service. So basically I have to find someone to help them scam more customers? That's horrible. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and will see if I can contact anyone else in my state to request help. I am not going to continue to pay for a service that I am not receiving. This is completely unethical.  I will never, ever do business with anyone coming to my door offering their services. I was tricked into getting this alarm camera. The independent salesman was homeless and I felt sorry for him. They fool you into thinking it is Brinks with fake ID when it is actually a crooked company called SkylineSecurity,com 562 622-7114. He asked if I would rent a room to him then he got drunk and abusive. I called the police twice. The system was not notifying me on my cell phone when camera was triggered, and he was not able to fix it. He told me he could not pay the rent or gas he used. I had drove him to mobile home parks all over Victor Valley to try and get sales so he could get paid and get a place of his own. Then he told me the company had taken 90 Percent of his pay and could not pay me. He said they were crooked and quit. He decided to leave for another job elsewhere. I am now unemployed and can't cover all the bills. So I called SkyLine and they told me I could not cancel or I would owe them for 5 years at $71.90 Several thousand dollars. Daniel is the sales rep for this scum of a company, servicing the Beaumont area. He told me that he was "scouting" homes in the area to help promote Brinks in the area and if your house is chosen, you will get your equipment and installation for free. IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED YOU CANCEL AFTER 72 HOURS. After a surprising charge of $200 I reached out to this sales rep who stated that I can call or text him at any time, day or night and he would respond, did not respond for over 3 weeks. I contacted customer support and they reached out to his supervisor who had him contact me via text. Apparently he had an appendicitis shortly after our encounter and could not respond. I find it incredibly convenient for this company to have a 72hour cancellation policy and he fell ill with no one else in place to take his phone calls. Now I'm stuck with a 60 month contract, and new equipment purchase that was supposed to be promotionally free due to my location. Skyline Security is a scummy company that lies to your face. Skyline called my phone claiming to be ADT and needing to update security panels in my area. I have never wanted to do business with Skyline / Brinks and now I am fighting them to cancel my account. They want me to pay $3420.14. Ridiculous. Had one of their sales people offer us a switch form our current provider. The upgrade was supposed to include upgraded hardware and a reduced monitoring fee. That was a month ago tomorrow. In the meantime with had five visits from techs who were unprepared (not enough or wrong new hardware) or unqualified ("I'm not familiar with the kind of system you have"). Skyline does not confirm appointments by email or text. On the second appointment one of their techs damaged part of the original system. Since then we have tried unsuccessfully to get one of their techs dispatched to at least repair the damage. Non-responsive, incompetent and negligent. read more

I have had this system 7 months and had to have them come out to fix problems 5 times. The 5th time the technician caused damage to my ceiling in my home. Ruben the technician told me not to worry it would all be taken care of he would make sure of it. He admitted to the damages he made to my ceiling. He took photos sent them to his supervisor. The supervisor he told me would call me he never did. I think they thought i would just dissappear. Ruben told me all I had to do was get estimates and send it to them and they would pay me the money for it. Some man named Ceasar called instead of his supervisor. Cesars promised me the world made me do all this stuff and when i did it.. he shut me down and barked a different story. Not sure what kind of boss or even supervisor he maybe as his talk was cheap i have it in text to prove it. Now Cesars is refusing to pay the estimate submitted to him. Telling me I must go thru my homeowners insurance. As he he did not want to go thru theirs. Funny how a big company charges enormous fees, has lousy workers doing jobs, doesn't back problems they create in our homes. Now its our problem and we must deal with the higher rates too. DONT EVER SIGN UP WITH THEM all they care about is your money. They do not care about people and making things right. This is the worst company ever. Anyone from channel 4 , 7 news would love to do a story on this company. To show their true colors. The automated response you supply here is a worthless piece of poop. No one will do a darn thing. You pass people around like they are just numbers and have no feelings or responsibilities in life. A cautionary tale!! I usually don't answer unsolicited offers from someone showing up to my house but this day they caught me off guard. Long story short the rep tells me how he would give me a new system and it would be equal to or lower than what I was paying using my ADT system. Sounded great. He showed me on his computer what he said was my bill with ADT. I saw the screen and it saw I was paying ~$62 with ADT. So I signed up with him and my monthly bill would be $64 with Skyline/Brinks. Sure, let's do it. When I contacted ADT to cancel my service I asked what my monthly bill was and they told me it was $58 and had been that price for some time. I contacted Skyline to see if they would match my old billing and they would not. So now I'm stuck in a 5 yr contract with and perceived bait and switch-ish company.
