I have had this system 7 months and had to have them come out to fix problems 5 times. The 5th time the technician caused damage to my ceiling in my home. Ruben the technician told me not to worry it would all be taken care of he would make sure of it. He admitted to the damages he made to my ceiling. He took photos sent them to his supervisor. The supervisor he told me would call me he never did. I think they thought i would just dissappear. Ruben told me all I had to do was get estimates and send it to them and they would pay me the money for it. Some man named Ceasar called instead of his supervisor. Cesars promised me the world made me do all this stuff and when i did it.. he shut me down and barked a different story. Not sure what kind of boss or even supervisor he maybe as his talk was cheap i have it in text to prove it. Now Cesars is refusing to pay the estimate submitted to him. Telling me I must go thru my homeowners insurance. As he he did not want to go thru theirs. Funny how a big company charges enormous fees, has lousy workers doing jobs, doesn't back problems they create in our homes. Now its our problem and we must deal with the higher rates too. A cautionary tale!! I usually don't answer unsolicited offers from someone showing up to my house but this day they caught me off guard. Long story short the rep tells me how he would give me a new system and it would be equal to or lower than what I was paying using my ADT system. Sounded great. He showed me on his computer what he said was my bill with ADT. I saw the screen and it saw I was paying ~$62 with ADT. So I signed up with him and my monthly bill would be $64 with Skyline/Brinks. Sure, let's do it. When I contacted ADT to cancel my service I asked what my monthly bill was and they told me it was $58 and had been that price for some time. I contacted Skyline to see if they would match my old billing and they would not. So now I'm stuck in a 5 yr contract with and perceived bait and switch-ish company. This came during a recent move which is stressful enough, you'd think they'd want to accommodate, yet never assume positive intent because you'll be let down more often than not. Multiple calls with no follow up, sending techs out to install without the proper equipment, promises to take $ of your bill. It's just a massive waste of time. Should have kept ADT. No drama, no issues with them just a higher price. You pay what you get for so DO NOT get sucked into the trap of them being cheaper. I wish there was a negative star review because I would NEVER recommend this company. I am surprised a large company like Brinks even uses Skyline. I moved from out of state and Skyline was recommended to re-install my system. The technician came the first time and installed everything. I bought an additional motion sensor since ours was left at our old home out of state. I gave him a check for the cost of the sensor and the installation. I then got a call from Luis (claims he is a manager) telling me that the system was not working properly and the technician will have to come back out again. Supposedly it was not connection to their tower. Mind you, this is all happening during COVID-19. So the technician comes back a few days later, no name badge, in street clothes, heavily smells of cologne, with a nose piercing in; but it was the same one from before so I let him in. He tells me he's here to connect the system to the tower. I then tell him the motion I paid for is not working either (it will not go off when I walk by it) if he could look at that too. I stayed upstairs with my 6 year old son since the technician did not have a mask on. About 20 minutes goes by and I go downstairs to check on things. He's now sitting on my patio chair while on the phone with Brinks trying to connect my system. WHO DOES THAT?! During a pandemic you sit on my patio and make yourself at home while connecting my alarm system. Then he proceeds to sneeze all over my table. Not to mention the trash he left around my house. I had to disinfect everything after he left! Since I had a horrible experience I called and spoke to Luis about it. I asked him for a refund. He proceeded to tell me that since a service was provided there would not be a refund. He also asked me for a photo of the person sitting on my patio chair acting leisurely. We argued for sometime and clearly I was not getting through to him about how uncomfortable I felt so I asked for a manager, he then tells me that he is a manager. So basically I am stuck with a system that does not work, YES DOES NOT WORK! My motion still is not working. My husband called Luis back about that and Luis said to call the company we had out of state to help us. How is an out of state company going to hook up my motion sensor?! We got scammed by this company. We are going to file a complaint with the CA Attorney General. They came to our door and said they were offering a "free equipment upgrade." They did a demo of the equipment, and it looked great. Then once the new equipment was installed, they held out an iPad for us to "sign for the new equipment." A couple days later I got a call from Brinks saying we needed to release ADT in order for the new service to go into effect. Long story short, what they held out on their iPad for us to sign was not just acknowledging new equipment, but a 5-year contract obligation changing our service from ADT to Brinks, which of course they didn't tell us or show us. This is such a sleazy sales tactic it turns my stomach. In fact, we had specifically told the representatives that we weren't sure we even wanted the new free equipment since we were planning to move in 2-3 years. These people loudly and repeatedly self-proclaim that they can provide quicker and better service with "their" people. HOWEVER * These technicians do NOT work for Skyline Security, they are independent contractors that work for Skyline * Appointments are places on a board for these independent contractors to pick from * Amazingly they tried to walk me through repair procedures after I had a technician "supposedly" did a FULL diagnostic test, THREE false alarms, various false announcements throughout the day and a false alarm happened while I was in the house with NOTHING happening in the area that "triggered" the alarm * Made my request at 10:30am and have not heard from ANYBODY till now (9:30pm - 10+ hours after the request was made * My previous company (ADT) actually have technicians EMPLOYED by their company hence set up their appointments * Given that one has the possibility of contacting them during their minimal "office" hours, any service they provide is lame - if they provide any at all. If one is expecting 24/7 customer/technical service for something that is used/working 24/7 - don't be surprised if nothing happens since this company's top priority is taking your money. * This company, if one closely examines their operations, are doing everything to maximizing their number one priority - PROFITS - while not giving a damm about customer service because one is STUCK in their contract (for me, up to June 2020). Skyline security has built an inefficient customer service system by phone which is concerning when you need them to assist in a security breach or issue. Tried calling twice today in reference to issues I'm having with my security router. The first call transferred after about 25 min and the operator hung up without saying a thing. Attempted to transfer again and was welcome to a lovely 30 min wait. The entire time hearing the ring back tone telling me "how important my call is to them" and how "three people are ahead of you in the queue" only to be greeted by a voicemail machine. I switched to BRINKS by accepting the offer of Skyline's door to door salesman offer. In order to get the extra door camera and fire monitoring equipment, I left my ADT company and switched to BRINKS HOME SECURITY. I was even able to lower my rate by $1.00. Skyline's employee, Angel, who installed my extra equipment was great. However, he says your Brinks rate will not ever change and that's not true. Brinks raised my rate by .97cents and labeled this extra fee as "Cost Recocery". I read the contract and COST RECOVERY FEE is described and SUPER SMALL PRINT. This is so that later on , they can legally scam more dollars and cents out of innocent unsuspecting customers. I call that a SCAM. I have tried calling Angel, as well as texted and left a voicemail, but he does not get back to me. So we've been with ADT for a little over 2 years. $58/month. Never had any problems or issues. We had someone come to our door saying they were with Brinks home security a part of Skyline company. Kekoa from California sold us on what he claimed would be a cheaper newer updated system with them since we were no longer on a contract with ADT. The way we heard him is our first bill would be $68 then after that it would be $35/month. We would be locked in at that price for the term of the contract and they couldn't raise our rates. And we would have to sign a 3 year contract with them. So we agreed they made us do a phone call with someone from Skyline going over the "contract" witch at my own fault I wasn't really listening to cause I was taking the rep at his word. What I missed was the way the rep worded things. So it was $68 a month for the TERM of the "contract" and would go down to $35 after the contract was done. Meaning $68/month for 3 years then After 3 years it would drop to $35. Sneaky. Then the other thing I missed when he was smooth talking was its not a 3 year contract its a 60 MONTH contract (5 YEARS!) He said they would use our current sensors and would only have to replace the panel. I wanted to wait to have them install so I could sit things over but they pushed to have someone come out and install the VERY NEXT DAY. Ive never seen a company work that fast. I should of caught on. I wasn't thrilled but agreed. install guy came out and claims oh no we gotta put in all new sensors. Red flag number one. Came to the door in San Antonio in September claiming our ADT system would not work any more due to a "corporate structure" change between Brinks and ADT. The rep DANTE SIMMONS wrote down amendments to the contract allowing free moves and cancellations of service at any time for a 15% penalty fee. We go to move in February and wonder of wonders - no notes on the contract. Skyline says they will send over a copy of the contract - NO response. I call Brinksathome.com - they send the contract but tell me I have to deal only with Skyline during the first year of service. I provide Skyline's loyalty person - Ozze Caballero a copy of the written changes from the rep and he will not honor them. This took two weeks of back and forth phone calls, escalations and emails. I have now spoken with: Claudia, Laura, Melanie, Jose, Marion, Ozze, and Josh and have no results! I schedule an install at the new house after resigning myself to being stuck with their shady service and the tech NO SHOWS three times! Three Saturdays down the drain! Promises, Promises, Promises. The installation was botched, it was supposed to take 2.5 hours, it took 2.5 days. The cameras don't work properly. They swore to replace my ring cameras, their camera does not even have motion lights. The doorbell camera hasn't worked since installation. The rep Lou Belloti has a full voicemail and doesn't return text messages. You can't leave him a message because he gets so many complaints he's not responding. They're doing sales pushes through LA neighborhoods to get customers and providing bad service and equipment. Be warned!!! If you see them, R U N ! Here is a follow up. Since the initial review, a rep has reached out in a message but didn't leave their contact info. We've called there office again and they told us that we had 3 days to cancel once we'd signed up. Even though it's been almost 2 weeks since the day we signed up and the system is yet to work. The bank told us we could stop the billing at any time though (which we have). We told there (so called) customer service to send out their techs and return our system to the way it was when the found it. Customer Service was supposed to call us back yesterday, that hasn't happened yet. This has to be the worst company in the business. If you ever here their name, RUN FAST Update; Three weeks ago we reported to Skyline Security that our smoke detectors and our carbon monoxide detector wasn't operable.
