So... this place is great if you're an old Asian grandpa or a vegan. I loved it even though I'm neither. The food tastes healthy and flavorful. Everything we ordered tasted great. BUT-- There is one dish, Chung-guk-jang that does wonders for your gut biome but gut punches your nose and everyone else's in the restaurant. The iconic Korean vegan restaurant in Suwanee. EVERYTHING here is delicious. I specifically visit for their perilla leaf stew and buckwheat sweet bean cakes. There is a touch screen ordering system, then they call your number and put your set meal tray on the bar for pickup. My first time trying it, and the flavors were spot on. I do prefer it more mild, and there are different condiments and sauces. You can add if you want more flavor. I come here all the time because of the quality of the food - it's clean, it's not overburdened with salt and sugar and MSG, and it's delicious. It is also all organic/vegan even though I'm in no way a vegan or even a vegetarian. All the food is grown on their farm and is exactly what it says - you can tell just from the taste. I'm trying to change my diet completely and become more selective in where I dine out as well as at home so this place definitely makes the cut. Service is great and simple - you put in your order via a self service kiosk and wait for them to call out your order when it's ready. Staff is friendly and approachable, and the restaurant is clean and very quiet and family friendly. You clean and bus your own trays when you're finished. Has outdoor seating and the restaurant is connected to a shop next door that sells ingredients taken fresh from their farm. It's my understanding that the place is owned by 7th-day adventists which I guess is why this place is closed on Saturdays? Just something to know since the shop is open all other days. HJ is a self service restaurant that serves Korean vegan food. Eating here makes me feel like I'm at my grandma's house, the food is so comforting both to my stomach and my soul. The serving size is HUGE to and each entree comes with side dishes and rice so I always leave this place very full. I've been here multiple times and I've enjoyed all the food except the bibimbap. The bibimbap here is just rice with a huge bed of uncooked veggies so I would only recommend that menu to a hardcore veggie lover. My favorite is the noodle with the perilla powder. A disclaimer to anyone that might consider wanting to try. If you like kimchi, the kimchi here will be a little more on the lighter/bland side as they don't use fish or shrimp products in their kimchi. Oh my stars, the best and most quality dinner out I have had since moving to Georgia over a year ago! We are plant based and I seriously felt like this meal fed my soul. My husband brought me here for my birthday dinner and we shared the tofu steak and the dumpling soup. Soooo delicious. We went back a week later to their store and bought more dried ginger chews and then also got some soft tofu and vegan kimchi to make Korean stew, and the rolls with beans and veggies. We will be back probably more than we should, but certainly for their soft tofu. When I was buying it a sweet lady came up to me and pointed to the soft tofu and said it was "special", and she is right! Yum! We stopped by HJ while in Suwanee and I'm happy to say that the food is still delicious! They are very careful with social distancing with table dividers, hand sanitizer, and requiring customers wear masks. We ordered the mushroom hot pot for 2 and we heated it at the table. The hot pot was perfect on a chilly day. The broth was from vegetable broth so the soup was very rich. It's a little spicy due to the sauce and the peppers so don't order it if you're not good with spicy foods. The homemade tofu was soft and filling. There was actually a lot of food so we had leftovers. The soft tofu soup had very soft tofu that paired very well with the soy sauce. You can tell it's homemade because it doesn't have that traditional tofu shape. I love that they give individual side dishes so you don't have to share side dishes with anyone. You can also ask for more side dishes and rice if you want. We had too much food so we took the leftovers Togo. You have to pay 25cents to get containers. read more

Overall the portions were significant and many side items provided with each meal. Tofu Steak: Thick cuts of tofu seasoned very well. Each bite has a spicy and flavorful kick. Soup Dumplings: vege or kimchi stuffed. As these dumplings bathe in the soup the flavors are enhanced. Each soupy dumpling bite is hefty and moist. You can definitely tell it was made in-house, the texture and flavor was absolutely delicious. I'm craving it as I'm writing this review. The tofu mushroom pot was good, I'd definitely order it again if I have a big group. It's 27.99 and it's portion for two people but I honestly think it can feed more than 2. The tofu soup was ok, the soup base was a smidge on the sweeter side compared to the mushroom hotpot. Vegetable noodle soup was not my cup of tea, noodles were not soft enough for me. They also have bottles of red pepper sauce and sesame oil; the sauce was good, a little on the sweet side but the sesame oil was so fragrant and flavorful. I didn't get a chance to ask if it was the same one that they sell in the store (which is actually made in Duluth) but it was so freaking good. I will definitely be back! Today I had the most amazing vegan meals ever. Everything was made from scratch and organic. The food is light, clean, fresh taste. Their jasmine tea is so fragrant. We had number 4 (dumplings soup ) and 6 (tofu steak). Both were delicious!!! The portion is HUGE and the price is very reasonable. To our surprise, HJ Mart or , was completely "vegun!" We ordered the perilla knife noodles, kimchi dumpling soup and chungkookjang. I have a history of plant-based eating so I absolutely loved it and the two people I was with, although not their usual choice of cuisine, also loved it! We went to this vegan eatery for the first time yesterday. Truly farm to table, as the farm is right across the street. When I asked about the farm she pointed across the street literally! They are Seventh-day Adventists, and therefore eat no dairy or meat. I tried two entrées as I was interested in tasting different things, but what was so surprising in this day and age Is that each entrée came with salad, kimchi, several dipping sauces, and a large bowl of rice. It was just as good today but be warned if you order it is a large portion that you get! I couldn't get past the salad because it was so delicious! And so fresh! They grow their own lettuces and when you bite into them it's as though you can taste how fresh and organic it is. It is set up as a self-service and I was TOLD not to tip but rather to clean up after myself as they do not clean up the tables. The food was delicious. Warning, the sauces or a little spicy, and they come separately so you can flavored the food yourself but be warned. The menu was a little bit offputting as it is in Korean. My son and I asked for help in ordering and I can tell you that the dumpling soup is amazing and that we enjoyed the turmeric tofu Bimbimbap salad. The entrée items are big enough to share but the salads are not. And I promise you you will want more than one read more
