Great place for steamed crabs!! The atmosphere is fun, especially when the Ravens are playing!…read moreOutdoor seating is a great atmosphere to share with friends/family. The crabs are hot and seasoned well. Only disappointment was the size. We wanted X-large crabs but they only had large and mediums. Unfortunately, the large crabs looked like medium sized crabs. Make sure you get there early because the crabs sell out fast! Also, we tried the calamari and fish n chips however neither tasted seasoned. We also had some cocktails but they were watered down. So, if you decide to order a cocktail you may want to stick with something bottled. A popular favorite cocktail was the Rum Punch which is very tasty!

The first time, we decided to try them anyway, but they were just too small for our liking. This time, we opted for the snow crab pot instead, and it was absolutely delicious! Everything was delicious, and overall, we had another great experience. Service was good as always. I'll definitely be back because I always enjoy the atmosphere and food here. My only wish is that they had larger crabs available more often!

Service was perfection. The interior has a great dark wood/chandelier, old-school bar vibe and comfortable seating without it being too noisy when packed. There is some signage about the poet himself. We started of with the "cheese dip" which is an interesting way to describe a pretzel appetizer. But boy howdy, the cheese dip was enormous, which complemented the salty, buttery pretzels perfectly. The stuffed lamb was pretty reasonably priced and came with spinach and potatoes. Both that and the strip steak were a bit heavy on the sauce though, but otherwise, great dishes. Don't forget to swing by the bathroom. I just really like the posters in the hallway. The bathrooms were nice though. Overall, this is a reasonably-priced, inviting atmosphere, and tasty good. Great spot for the area.

Since I arrived shortly after opening, there wasn't much of a crowd, and the service was fast and friendly. Unfortunately, the fish sandwich didn't quite live up to my expectations. I think the frying oil may have been too hot because the fish was fried pretty hard, and it could have used a little more seasoning. It wasn't terrible, but it just wasn't what I was hoping for based on all the hype. The fresh pineapple juice, however, was delicious and definitely worth coming back for! Hopefully this was just a one-off experience because I'd be willing to give the fish another try.

And again, apparently BTS booked the whole place out for a day!!! That should tell you everything. Would absolutely come back.

They did send out a dessert, on the house, since we did have to wait past our reservation time which was a nice gesture. Overall, I cannot see myself returning, especially since there are so many other options for seafood in the area.

Tastes like home! We ordered the chicken kelaguen with titiyas; shrimp patties; pancit; red rice & chicken with daikon, fina'denne, and dinanche; butter mochi (with deconstructed coconut candy); and Chamorro empanadas. Everything was so good! That fina'denne, kelaguen, and pancit were on point!! The chalakiles (filling inside the empanada) was so flavorful. Mmm! More flavorful than I'm used to! That was nice. The shell wasn't hard-crunchy like how many make it in Guam, but the shell still had a crunch to it! The shrimp patties were shaped differently than I'm used to, but it was still delicious, especially with the sauce it came with. The butter mochi was the perfect ending to our meal! That taste is unforgettable! I want more of everything, NOW! I wish I lived closer to The Duchess. Bravo to the chef for making Chamorro food in the DMV! Also, shoutout to the waiters and everyone who checked on us. Great customer service!

We've been there three times now and we live almost an hour outside the city. Our server was Paul and he was awesome, extremely well versed and knowledgeable. The cocktails are inspired and inventive utilizing fresh ingredients. My favorite is the POG that they serve in a spam tin. For food we always have to get the spam musubi, lumpia, and tteokboki. Those alone are worth making the trip out. The musubi is better than my grandmother's. I've also enjoyed the steamed buns and the chicken skewers. The desserts were phenomenal, house made, not a hint of Cysco or us foods slop. I can't recommend this place enough. The interior is extremely comfy and almost transports you to another country. With unique seating options, if we lived closer we'd be regulars at happy hour. Paul told us today about a chef curated menu that we plan to try out for our next visit. In a world of corporate owned restaurants serving uninspired slop, places like The Duchess need to be protected.

And I'm telling you now, it's closing by the end of July! There's another one nearby, and that one closes in August!! Maybe you don't think of fish as a fast food. But what they do here they do pretty well. The fish are great big pieces of tender, almost creamy white fish, in a pretty thick crunchy batter. The shrimp are quite large, in the same batter. The fries are generous and hot crispy waffle fries. The beverages are self serve. The flavors are good. The seafood and batter and cooking oil are all fresh. They have maybe six different sauces to choose from, they're all pretty flavorful, but with this batter, you have to go with the malt vinegar. It's a perfect match! This place is on Ritchie Highway, halfway between I-695 and I-895. I'll miss this place. If you can get here during the rest of July, you're lucky.
